I always find myself here on my days off. They have a great indoor plant section and a ton of succulents! I recently bought a snake plant and I love it! I also got the cutest little pots that were under $5. Everyone here is very friendly too. Definitely check it out!

I like Mayos and their selection be it more pricey as it is. However, the young lady,teenager I just had an unpleasant experience with is costing the store profit. I left my item at the counter. I followed her direction and that wasnt good enough. I understand entitlement issues and they arent acceptable to me coming from anyone that Im about to spend my hard earned dollars with.2:00pm 8/17. Young female, dark brown hair and a serious problem with communication and service. No thank you owners. Give her an allowance if you want. Just dont expect it to be on my tab. People arent allowed to treat me as if Im their doormat today. Apparently she has a reputation for for being this way. Good luck with that. Fyi an older woman and a middle aged lady were originally there when I so rudely interrupted their conversation beeding help with an item. I definitely she a trending pattern in this event.

Parts department is deplorable- I tried calling 7 times to order a decent quantity of parts. The parts department would not even answer the phone. The worst customer service I have seen.

Claxton Mayo goes above and beyond for customer service. We own East Tennessee Lawns and Landscaping and we purchased 4 Scag mowers. He went above and beyond to make sure we received the best deal. Will be doing all my business with MAYO moving forward.

Stopped at Mayo’s on June 13. No indoor clerks were wearing masks. No social distancing signs or 6-foot spacing at check-out. I complained to manager. He was nice enough to me but said it was an ownership decision. I noted that I was wearing a mask to protect THEM and that at 72 I would hope they would respect me enough to wear masks to protect me. For decades I’ve shopped at Mayo’s. That ended on Saturday. Will reconsider if they institute precautions including protections for their employees. No seedling or bag of birdseed is worth my health.

A great down home garden center. Family owned and has been around for a long time. They are connected with their own, local seed company so customers can often get seeds and plants produced locally. Excellent customer service with staff who are knowledgeable and very helpful. They have a very large selection of everything related to gardening and parking is fairly convenient in the front or in the nearby shopping plaza. There are two Mayo Garden Centers, the other being much farther West. I feel more comfortable and prefer this on in Bearden, just a short drive from downtown and easy to get to from almost anywhere.

My wife and I went to the garden center in Bearden and needed help selecting a tree that does great in full sun and shade. The gentleman that helped us was very professional, dressed head to toe in appropriate attire for gardening, and best of all: he was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. The ladies inside at the registers were very kind and professional as well. The man that helped us select the trees even gave us free tips on useful sources of nitrogen-rich fertilizer you can easily find. I give Mayo Garden Center a solid 10/10. I have been shopping here since I was a kid in 2004.

Excellent! They had everything UT VOLS that I needed for my home and yard . Both volstop stores didnt have a single UT FLAG or Flag pole. Im very disappointed.

Really helpful staff. Tom helped me find a mower. He was incredibly knowledgeable. He didn’t push the most expensive one on me. He helped me pick the best mower for what I need it for.

My husband and I have been going here for 2 years now and all of the plants we have purchased from them have bloomed exactly as they should. Many of the ones from last year are already beginning to bloom this year. The staff is extremely helpful and willing to answer all of my questions ( and i always have a ton). They give me reading material as well and help load heavy bags of soil for us as well.

Family and I have shopped here for over 70 years. Always has items you dont find in big box stores. Great selection of seeds too. Prices are up there a bit but their selection is great

Very nice variety of plants and flowers. Very well kept store. Pricing is a little off. Steep pricing for money tree plants and indoor house plants while baby cana lilies were prices at like 10.00.Overall, I found some gems and will return for more plants instead of going to Home Depot.

Amazing outdoor inventory... Really a lot to choose from and really cool stuff. Did a lot in the yard and porch with items we purchased here.... Staff is friendly enough... Great place to just look and find unique items for the yard and wildlife...

I bought a battery operated Core weedeater. It is heavy duty and the battery lasts a long time. They told me everything about how to use it and it works great plus it is quiet (unlike the gas powered ones). I dont have to worry about a cord reaching far enough. My wife likes to use it also. Great information and super nice people.

I bought a Stihl chainsaw here, and received some help from Joe, who knows chainsaws well. He checked me out to make sure that I was not going to DIY myself to instant death. When I came back for more chains, he remembered me. although it had been several months. They didnt have the chain I needed (a ripping chain) but he provided me with a weblink for an online source that sold the one I wanted. There was no money in this for Mayo, but he helped me anyway.I suspect that I could get a better price at a big box store, but they would not proved the customer service that I received at Mayo. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I will go back there again.

I always love coming here and browsing. The staff is always nice. Wendy is a wonderful plant lady, though I dont think my joke about marijuana landed. But all in all great visit.

Bought a stelh chainsaw from them. Staff was polite, and courteous. The salesman really took his time going over all of the chainsaws, was was able to get me the right one for my purpose. Will continue to shop there.

Truckers be careful of the tight driveway coming in the front. If you miss the driveway by the store you will have to drive 3 miles to turn around.

Bearden location is awful with equipment and helpfulness. Had me drive 30 miles away just to sell me the wrong part. I called ahead with exactly what I was needing and salesman said oh yeah I got it. But after purchasing it I noticed that he had sold me a different kit. No apologies or anything. He said west location might have it so I had to get back on the interstate and drive 13 more miles. If breaden location doesnt know anything about mowers or equipment. Then way not stop selling the d--ng things and just sell flowers and planting pots. Now you know the rest of the story.

One star is actually too much. Left my mower to be fixed and they kept putting commercial mowers ahead. Was there for three weeks only needing battery wires reconnected. Terrible communication, customer service and policy. There is a waiting list for a reason and should be honored, commercial mower or not. Doesnt matter who or what you do, money is money and my money will never go to Mayo again.

I recently purchase 1/4 rick of firewood from this establishment and I am not sure what they treat their wood with but it does not burn. I have been trying for four days to burn three pieces of wood! I have gone through half a pack of the thick starter matches, a whole box of starter kindling, and now half a bottle of lighter fluid! Its kind of ridiculous and if only I had kept my receipt I would have most definitely returned it by now. I thought its wood!, surely it will burn! so I used the receipt to try and light the fire. Dont be fooled Knoxville, buy your firewood from somewhere else.

Walked I the front door and was bombarded by four different sales people. I have never liked high pressure sales. Prices were outrageous to say the least. Needless to say, we left and I won’t be back.

Whoever answered your phone, Mayos, at about 1:30 PM on Wednesday May 24th needs a different duty. That person should save their curt, impatient time for their disrespectful teenager...or wait, maybe they ARE a disrespectful teenager. Either way, please teach your employee that this is the age of social media, and chances are you will get called out for treating customers rudely. (I called to ask a question, with every intention of a follow up purchase. I was driving, my phone hit the typical dead spot on Oak Ridge highway, and I simply asked your employer Are you there? .... and was stunned by their curt, short, demeaning tone. I then said, Nevermind. You are rude. And hung up the phone. Never been spoken to that way, even at the big box stores.

On Saturday I purchased a 1/4 rick of wood. This morning when I attempted to start a fire with it I learned it was too wet (very green) and would not light even after 45 minutes of effort.Ive built fires before and they were not impossible to light.I feel I wasted my money on Saturday and WILL not recommend Mayo for firewood.

The best part was the lady on the scooter with the dog...

I wish I had read the other review before purchasing a quarter rick of wood and hauling it up three flights of stairs. I dont think theres anything you could do to get this to burn.Update: I went back and they were very concerned about the wood. They implied they were going to talk to the supplier and have them get their act together. They offered us a few bundles of firewood from another supplier for free on hopes it would help us get it started enough to burn the green stuff.
