Another example of business being done in the proper way: for humans by humans. The staff who care for you in their showroom, over the course of the 15 years Ive been their customer, are both knowledgeable and personable. Sure, I can get a slightly cheaper sewing machine, but if I got it at some national chain, and something went amiss, I would be funneled down the rabbit hole of phone prompt queues and endless waits for support for my issue. With MSM, you call them up, someone answers, and helps you. You never have to talk to a machine or spend your precious hours of the day waiting for someone to recognize that youve spent your money on their product with nothing to show for it. MSMs staff are respectful of your humanity and dont waste your life hours, as we all have too often experienced. Thats why I return to them. Theyre great!

Coming from out of town (2hrs away), Missouri Sewing Machine Company was very accommodating in providing same day service for two machines. Machines run and sound great following annual servicing and would highly recommend! (Hint: if you sew on special fabric (lycra, etc) remember to change out your needles following servicing if you are experiencing skipped stitches. Needles really do make a HUGE difference!)

Very frustrated. When I called and scheduled service I was not given any schedule at all but told I would be called with an estimated day. That never happened so I called back asking for a time estimate and was told that the servicemen would be out on Wednesday and at that time stressed the importance of their arrival because I had a concrete deadline of Friday. Due to ice I called them to let them know I would be late to my place of work Wednesday and was informed that the serviceman scheduled to me was not able to make it anyway. I again stressed that it had to be done before Friday and I was ensured that it would be completed by Thursday for sure. I received no calls at all today to update me on the timeline and called to ask about timeline only to be informed that I was pushed back until tomorrow (would have been nice to know this morning but again no communication has been given from this company). I explained that if that was the case then I would have to find someone else last minute and was then transferred to Jeff (who is the one that ensured the timeline the day before). To my concern he said “well that was the plan” and now I’m scrambling to get it done before tomorrow. As a place of business we need to be able to count on our services to be complete in a timely manner And in line with when they have said they would be complete. Unfortunately if you want service from this company you’ll be waiting around just like you have to with the cable guy. At least they weren’t rude.

Martin and the staff at Missouri Sewing Machine are knowledgeable, helpful, and they truly care. Some recent reviews indicate some difficulty/slowness with servicing equipment, but we have not experienced this. They got our machine and and back to us in a very reasonable time period.. note, they did promise to do a cleaning on it, which they said that they ran out of time to do.. but heres the thing about these folks: theyll stand by their word. I have no reason to doubt that theyll still do the cleaning at no charge if I ever get a chance to bring it back in!Highly recommended. If you need anything, dont hesitate to give them a call or stop in at any of their locations.

This place is AWESOME. Not only do they have everything you need for sewing embroidery etc they are extremely helpful and very nice, great customer service. I cant tell you how many times i have called them with questions on how to do something on my machine, why my machine is doing something etc....I always deal with Martin when I go in and I love the one on one attention he gives when I go down there or when I call. He does not rush me out the door or off the phone. He always makes sure my questions are answered to the fullest and that I completely understand. There machines are awesome and I have bought new and used from them. They stand behind there work. All around they are great people and a great company. I refuse to go anywhere else. I live an hr away from them and I make the drive for all my sewing items before I go anywhere else. I Highly recommend going here before any were else and if you do see MARTIN. ..Dee Hufford

I inherited my grandmas old sewing machine and was told by her that it should be serviced before I get started using it. She suspected that it worked fine, but had not used it in years and never had it serviced (apparently something thats supposed to be done professionally once a year... yeah right). I thought myself lucky to find this shop via google, and drove an hour to drop my grandmas sewing machine off with the simple request of a routine servicing. The estimate of $75 blew me away (a new machine is $85 on Amazon) but after looking around on the internet I guess thats about standard. I figured itd be fine anyways due to the sentimental value of the machine and id still be saving $10. She estimated that itd take 2 weeks and theyd email me when its done.Fast forward 2 weeks. I found myself in the local area and gave them a call to ask if theyd made any progress. It turns out they hadnt even gotten to it yet (#6 in line) and reassured me theyd call and tell me when it was done. I guess everyone in the city is getting their machines serviced this week. Finally, 4 weeks after I originally dropped it off, I figured I was just going to pick it up whether it was done or not. It turns out that they were already complete with it. The invoice said electronic issues... parts not available... no answer talk to Mark or Jeremy. They hadnt left any messages on my phone and I received no emails from them like they assured.Mark told me that none of the buttons worked. Thats strange, I thought. He couldnt find any parts and said that the machine was basically scrap. I thanked him and was about to walk out when he said that I still owed $22.50. After asking him how long it took him to figure out the buttons didnt work (sounds like a 5 minute test to me), the manager told him to let me take it, and one of the salesmen tried to sell me a machine on my way out. No thanks...Bottom line, I took it home, plugged it in, and it works fine. All the buttons work, and all the features work. I just finished up repairing one of my work uniforms with it. I guess Ill just use it until it breaks. If its made it 30 years without servicing, it should last for as long as I need it. If they didnt want to bother with it, they should have just told me. They could have lubed it up and cleaned it out and been $75 richer. But at the end of the day, I guess they saved me $75 and I have my machine back. I just wish they wouldnt have wasted 4 weeks of my life without it.Dont go here. Maybe try one of the other offshoots, but this one at least is lazy and dishonest.

Poor service department. Purchased new Industrial juki machine because it was on hand. was poorly set up. Warranty was a joke. Never had a juki with more issues then this one. The customer service is one of their highest priorities, regardless if you spend 10 dollars or 10 thousand, they make you understand, that You are why they exist. they spend time with You, to make sure You understand, and answer questions, and they never give You the impression that they have something better to do. The employees may be newer, but the customer service values are still the same as in 1932. They do not try to upsell you, or use bait and switch tactics, their main purpose is customer satisfaction, not the profit they earn. prices are respectful, and they know where to send You, if they dont carry an item. they carry high quality products, not junk, and stand behind the sale.Thank You, Martin, and everyone!Robert Kiefert

I did a dumb, but minor thing to my Janome NQM. I had tried to handle it on my own and was unsuccessful. But I called before I took my machine in, and they gave me some troubleshooting advice over the phone that worked. They could have told me to bring it in and pay to have a repair, but the staff had a short chat (I could hear it over the phone), and told me something to try without a service call. Im so pleased with my experience, from purchase, to free info class, to this. It wasnt a big sale for them, but $600 was a pretty big expense for me. Im glad I bought from them, and I recommend them to anyone I know who needs a machine.

I wish I could say my experiences here were wonderful. I brought my machine in for a repair estimate. Just as it says on the website, the man in the store said this would be a free estimate and they would call me when they had more details. After 2 weeks, and no calls, I called them and was advised, Oh no, we cant fix that. When I picked up the machine, I was charged $80. I asked why was there a charge and was told this was for 2 hours of my time and a part I installed. So folks... 1. Estimates are NOT FREE, 2. Although their website and staff say they will call prior to making a repair that will incur a charge, there a be no call, and repair charges will apply, 3. Although their website says they can repair all machines, this is an exaggeration. 4. Even though you leave a valuable machine in the shop for weeks and you actually PAY for a repair completed during a Free Estimate, you may leave with a machine that still does not work, because no one there has the knowledge to make more complex repairs, nor the courtesy to pick up a phone to consult their customer as they promised. I wanted to hope this was an easy oversight, but last year I ordered a part for an older machine, which they said they had in stock and after months of calls and inquiries, they advised they were too busy to locate the part and they didnt know when they would ever have the time. I never got a call back and never did get that part. Seems to be a pattern. If youre buying a $5000+ machine, they will probably find a way to help you, at least thats how it seems. They do have wonderful machines and stock, which you could buy on Amazon with the same level of service....none. I thought I was going to the very best. Disheartening.Update: 1/1/18Opened up my machine power supply/control board for the first time since I received it back from MSM, (for a consult with an electronic engineer) to find the CAT 50 cable end had been cut off by MSM. I am blown away....
