Prices are at least $50-100 above MSRP for almost all bikes. Not sure if theyre taking advantage of the bike shortage or if this is how they have always priced.Otherwise, service was good. Staff was helpful when we went into try out some bikes .

Incredible customer service! They were able to fix a misaligned handlebar by custom making a piece. My previously unusable bike is ready for the road again. Just FYI they are busy, if you drop off your bike it will take several weeks. Let them know if you are on a time crunch. They were incredibly understanding with that. Good service sometimes takes time!

This bicycle shop is too sick! The staff doesn’t hesitate to drop knowledge and let you know what they think. You can tell the people in here know what they’re doing. Was able to find a Paul Component seatpost for 140$ In here (They are 225$ on the Paul website and won’t ship until 2 months). Crazy deal. It’s amazing they carry brands like Surly and All-City too. This is straight up the perfect spot to begin your bike life. The vibes make you feel like the main character in a video game

Terrible service. Too busy to take on new clients. I’ve waited over a month trying to get an estimate on repairs. I was originally told that it would cost me $50 to get an insurance estimate paid at the time of service. Now they’re trying to screw me by saying that they’ve been super busy and their policy has changed in the month they were “too busy” to get my estimate done. Now they want $75 up front in order to start my estimate after being too busy for over a month. Why would I do that? So you can take another month to give me an estimate once you’ve been paid? No. Scam, scam, scam written all over it.I would have given them my business if they stuck to the original agreement. After waiting a month they should have comped the insurance fee, or asked for it at the time of service. I’m not gonna let you hold my bike hostage because you’re too busy for new customers. Be warned.

I recently went to ZenCog to look at bikes after deciding to ride again for the first time since my childhood. Garfield was extremely kind, explained everything I asked about thoroughly to me and was able to put me on a new bike the next day for under my budget.Chris helped me the following day when I went ti pick up my newly assembled bike and walked me through all of the various options for add-ons, gave helpful advice on the different products without being a salesperson and wasn’t pushy on anything even a little bit. He was warm, friendly and super thorough and he installed all of the add-ons that I chose right there in front of me.I cannot recommend ZenCog enough. They’re they’re attentive, local and very friendly and have lots of options.

I called every bike shop in Jax and even brought my bike into several of the shops for a quote, unfortunately none were capable of repairing the “custom bike”. The ZenCog team not only fixed my bike for VERY FAIR price, but the turn around was amazing. Extremely accommodating, especially given their current workload and influx of new customers. You can definitely tell they all love what they do and are experts of their craft. For a first time customer, I am very satisfied and will continue using and recommending their services to others

Dropped off my sons mountain bike on 3/18, took 40 min to drop off because they were more worried about unloading a truck then helping the 4 customers standing in the tiny shop waiting for help. I should have left then. I called 4 times asking for an update and was finally told they had put it in storage and forgot about it! I was told it would be done the next day. A week later I called again and was told on that day(Friday) it would be done on Monday. I called two more times before it was done on Saturday 5/8 at close. Over 7 weeks to change out a derailer and a tune up.... I was told that they are very popular by the guy on the phone 2 different times. When I arrived today to pick up my bike it was outside in the pouring rain and they could not tell me how long it was there for. We keep our bikes when not in use in a garage to prolong its life but they did not care about if my bike gets rusted... never use them unless you have weeks for your bike to get lost!

Best bike shop in Jacksonville and the country. There are plenty of shops with friendly and knowledgeable folks, but this shop has much more than that. The folks here will treat you like youre actually their friend. Ive gotten tune-ups here for years and the price and quality has always been on point. There is a flow to this store that is a combination of good conversation and relaxed vibes mixed with ruthless efficiency to maximize your experience.Perhaps most amazingly, after my bike frame got smashed (long story), I found a very comparable bike that fit me at a great price the next day at ZenCog. These days good bikes that fit you and their corresponding components are hard to come by. I looked on every 3rd party seller site I could and called most bike shops in the city to explore my options. But lo and behold, the smaller shop right down the street that Ive come to know and love had just the bike I was looking for.ZenCog simply provides an invaluable service to the community and it deserves to thrive.

I have been a customer of Zen Cogs since they have opened. As an owner of four bicycles one of which is electric, Zen Cog performs great maintenance on all my bikes. Very friendly a knowledgeable. Zen Cog are great supports of the Riverside Avondale area. They help build and repair bike for the Sultzbacher center and have bike rides for the Riverside Art market.

I received a bike shipped to me, and made the mistake of agreeing to a ride the following day. I ran into an issue installing my rear derailleur and called the shop... and my goodness they were amazing. They went out of their way to look at my bike and get her set up correctly all in the same day due to my own negligence. I hadnt found a bike store since moving to Jacksonville, but now I have. This will be my go-to spot for sure! But I promise to give them more heads-up in the future :-)

The epitome of local love. I randomly came in for a helmet, new to the area. Garfield (?) immediately helped me out without losing his finesse and style. He was utterly honest and straight to the point.The shop is tiny like a New York apartment jam packed with stuff so patience seems like a good thing to have as they navigate the sky high supplies lining the perimeter of the shop.After getting me exactly what I wanted he and the other two men there made me feel at home and welcome to Jax with tips on navigating Jacksonville’s rather unfriendly roads. Awesome local bike shop! They were extremely reasonable at every juncture with me as I tuned up an old used bike. When it kept giving me trouble they allowed me to take the tune up fee off of a new bike that fit me better - and offered to continue to help me keep it in shape for cheaper than anywhere else would! They’ve got dope accessories and awesome service that has earned a loyal customer in me.

For me no one contributes to the bicycling community quite like Mr.Garfield and crew at ZenCog. Id like to think I support all my local bike shops but this is where Im at home. Without a doubt the best bike shop in North Florida. They keep all my bikes rolling in top condition without a scratch. I recently purchased a Surly Midnight Special from them on their recommendation which Im totally obsessed with. These cats are honest, knowledgable, experienced, friendly, and just plain flat out the coolest. I even like to drop in when I dont need anything. They do however need a bigger place as more and more folks are realizing what ZenCogs got going on.

I stopped by from out of town to pick up some chain oil & mentioned I just had my bike tuned but it didn’t seem to ride smoothly. My bike was assessed and fixed quickly. The amount of education on bike maintenance I was given was so helpful. This shop rocks!!

Long story short, this is the best bike shop in Jacksonville. The services offered here are extremely comprehensive and fairly priced, and there is a huge selection of bikes and biking equipment available in stock. Garf and his team are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and consistently go above and beyond to make sure everyone that comes through their door is treated fairly and politely. The work theyve performed on my bike has made it feel as good as new, and they back up all of their work with support if anything feels weird or needs an adjustment afterwards. I cant recommend this shop enough to anyone looking to purchase a new bike or take care of their existing bike.

Great staff! The friendliest and most eager to help I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! Garfield and Chris are fantastic! I brought my barely used Trek 7.2 in to either sell or trade as I haven’t used it for more than a year. I thought I had the wrong size as I always had back issues while riding. My intention was to upsize, but, Gar asked me questions regarding how I ride and if I wanted to be sure I was making the right decision in getting rid of the bike. He and Chris measured my torso and hip area while mounting my bike to a trainer for me to get on and be able to see how I sit on the bike. We determined that I my riding position allowed too much weight on my hips and butt, which caused unnecessary back and neck pain. They simply made an adjustment that allows me to balance my weight between the handle bars and seat , distributing my weight evenly over the bike! I have ridden it numerous times in the last two days and I feel so relieved that I can keep riding! Thank you, ZenCog!

Stopped in just to look, not to buy, in preparation for getting my first nice bike sometime later this year. Although I wasn’t in a position to spend money, Garf was awesome. He spent a good 20 minutes walking me through the pros and cons of different models. I never felt pressured, or dismissed for being a newbie. When I do get a bike in the coming months, this shop will be my first choice.

We had bought a back bike rack from them and upon getting it home realized it wasnt going to be easy to mount given her bikes style. We brought the rack and bike to Zencog and they installed it for free while we had lunch. They even outfitted the light on the back custom. Good group of guys with no pretensions.

Greatest bike shop ever!

Unfortunately my experience wasnt so pleasant. I called ahead and asked if they could install my new brake and gear cables. I was told it would take 20-30 min and would cost $10-15. Not only did it take all day until right at closing(dropped it off at 11:30) but was told I owed them $40 for parts and labor. I brought my own cables. I was informed that they had trouble with the front gear cable and couldnt install. Um, its a bike shop. And I didnt even get my cable back. Yet was charged for some if theirs. A 9 piece was left dangling from the rear gear mechanism. It doesnt look as if the front gear was even attempted to be installed. Sadly enough I see why they in a pinch over a 6 hour period while their competitors are a month and a half behind.

New to the area and just getting used to the transition so I bought a bike a few days ago and was totally loving it. I could ride everywhere from my place and even to work if I really needed to. And then I blew a tire! Since I’m newish to biking I thought this was gonna be some over priced nonsense and have to take an hour longer than needed, but I didn’t have the parts to do it on my own yet. I went to zen cog though.. And Colleen set me straight all in a matter of 5 minutes. And sold me a saddle and spare parts too! She didn’t pitch me to the point of overwhelming me with decisions and I walked out a very happy customer. So much so that I will definitely be back and was more than pleased to write up this review. I brought my bike to zencog a few weeks ago after the chain broke while I was pedicabbing. The owners son did his due diligence as far as researching a component on the bike and discovered that I was using an incompatible front chain ring for my bike. I had previously went to open road and they tried to repair the problem, but to no avail. Since the management at Zencog discovered the root of the problem and swopped out the ring, it has been doing great ever since!Nykk.. AKA Bradley Breeze

The people here @ ZenCog are probably the coolest youd ever get at a Bike Shop. Always friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for you. I had a buddy that needed lights for his bike for a ride he was doing that night. Although the store was closed, they were willing to stick around long enough to sell him some lights, pretty much saving the day. That and the fact that they give great advice on bicycle selection and are always entertaining to talk to in general, make this place one that i will always support and buy from. They also usually have a good amount of used bikes so definitely check them out if youre in the market for one. Overall, amazing shop and amazing people, Thanks, Garf!

These dudes are by far the raddest bike shop Ive been to. Super knowledgable. Super easy going. And they carry a metric butt ton of sweet stuff from all the top brands of bikes and gear. Go inside, and you will be drooling over Revelate bags and tricked out Bromptons. They went above and beyond to tune up our tandem for a tour, and from now on we will be visiting them for all of our two-wheeled needs.

This is not your local spandex wearing, time trial riding, leg shaving shop. This is a down to earth spot owned by a couple of crusty dudes who ride bikes. The folks (Garf in particular) at ZenCog are awesome, love bikes and do everything they can to allow you to share that experience.Weve all been to bike shops and dealt with bike snobs, of felt judgement when weve brought in your commuter (which may have skipped the last several maintenance periods) to the mechanics. So its refreshing to have the guys at ZenCog identify your budget and offer solutions (and possibly a beer) to your bike shop woes.I have purchased two bikes (including a frame up carbon mountain bike), purchased countless parts/tools and been pleased with the experience every time.

Came away with a Surly CrossCheck thats taken me all over town, commuting 20 miles round trip to work, across New England and Nova Scotia, and all over the (relatively mild) Florida mountain bike trails. Great service, great folks.
