Farm Bureau Insurance has been a blessing for me. I have my auto and home owners polices with them. Bill Howard my agent works hard keeping my cost down. Paying my bill over the phone they are nice and friendly. I have had a few problems Farm Bureau has gone out of their way helping me understand state regulations and policies some things are out of their control. They do allow a grace period if you miss your first due date on your insurance, the second notice must be paid by the second due date or they will have no choice to terminate your policy. My grown children have polices with them they have been very happy.

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my claim was submitted. No a single contact from anyone at any level of the Farm Bureau system. I have initiated at least 9 calls and between getting no information, conflicting information or passing me off to someone else just to get the same run around; Im fed up. Ive even told them I just wanted anyone from their company to initiate contact with me just to know theyre aware of my existence. Called Monday to pay my auto insurance and was stuck in a circular phone message that would never allow me to talk to a live person. So called the Raleigh office and explained what was happening and was assured I would get a call by the end of the day. That day has not come as of Friday. So FB just lost my business for auto insurance to the tune of max coverage on 4 cars.Back to the hurricane claim. I find it difficult to believe that not one single person can give me any information beyond a claim number. In one of my calls to them I received a huge attitude from the woman on the other end. And her referral to paying policy holders as the general public just confirmed that they dont really care about their customers, just keep sending money. Additionally, call the New Bern claims number and it says call your agent. Call your agent and it says call New Bern. So in light of all that has happened I dont have faith that I will receive just compensation for my damage. Can not wait to get this claim closed so I can get insurance that will do what I buy insurance for. Farm Bureau is a great insurance company as long as you never need them to live up to their half of the agreement.

My agent is Mrs. Melissa Nason she has always been there to answer all of our inquiries and policies for our home and auto.We have been with Farm bureau for almost 13 years. Our agent deserves a higher score but combined with the company 3 is what I give. The staff I have never had a problem everyone in that office that I have encountered are always helpful and polite! The lower score is due in part of how everything was handled since Hurricane Florence. We put in our claim, weeks went by didn’t hear from anyone had to contact the office and inquire about our claim status. Several more weeks went by before the adjusters contacted us and came out. Farm bureau adjuster assessed the inside damage and an independent assessed the roof and outside. We received about the correct amount for the outside by the independent adjuster but we believe the F.B adjuster for inside our home was lower than it should have been and ended up out of pocket for most of it. The adjuster was nice but ended up paying a bigger expense inside.Have faith that Farm bureau will get better with dealing with these types of disasters and that assessing damages.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. They are the worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with. They will cancel your policy if you are even a day late, then they say they will “reinstate” you, but really, you’re paying them to give you a new policy. Since they don’t actually reinstate you, you get a lapse in insurance each time. I can’t stress enough about how they are the worst company you could ever have. Please circumvent them at all costs.

I have been with Farm B for 5 years and have had an excellent agent in Melissa Nason. She has made every effort to work for me and contact me even during the busiest times of hurricane Florence. I went myself to the office twice the week after the storm and was greeted (I presume by the owner) and made sure I was taken care of. The place was jam packed with people both times and I was still treated kindly and in a timely fashion. At times the people answering the phone up front may be rushed (I can understand that) but my agent has more than made up for their haste. Thank you Ms. Nason for that.

We have had the company for years. But, we are ready to look elsewhere even if we have to pay more. They have the most incompetent people working there now. Both sons have their own policies there as well. One of our sons had an accident. Well, they got confused and kept calling the other one to the point of harassment, trying to blame him and charge his policy. Although the two drive the same model and year of car, He kept telling him that there was a mistake and that he was at work on the day of the accident. We didn’t even know about an accident because the other one no longer lives at home. This was the biggest fiasco because they practically called us liars. They need to train their people more properly to pay attention to details when processing insurance claims.

Not happy finally just received a call for a adjuster to come out since Florence. No empathy, very dry and was more concerned about me knowing my deductible. I know its been a very busy several weeks but come on. Did more work for my own claim smh. So sad!!

Well my experience so far is very similar to what is posted already. It has been about three weeks since my first claim submission. When I logged in to my account after the first week I did not see the claim listed so, I submitted another claim. After a week of calling I was finally scheduled for an adjuster to arrive. As soon as the adjuster finished, I started getting calls to critique my adjuster. I dont even know what was submitted for my claim to give him a critique. After sevral calls I finally told the guy not to call again until my claim is settled. Then I will provide a critique. This is my first time submitting a claim with FB. I have been a customer for 10 years. I pay an annual dues and did not even know my agent. I finally tried to call him based on previous statements and learned he no longer worked at this office. I was given a new agent and could not reach him by phone or email. Finally decided to go into the Jacksonville office. The girls working the front desk or more interested in answering phones then customer support. After finally talking to a young lady who just got off the phone and told the customer the same thing said average wait time for claims is 14 days. Okay that is the first I have heard that and no one has made an effort to contact me about my claim. I guess I was just another person complaining. She said I should get something in the mail. Lets hope what ever is coming in the mail is not lost. Just like another review, to begin work on my house, I would like to at least know what my claim will be. That would help to hire contractors before I drain all my savings account. Most of my neighbors who are not with FB have their claims settled and already have repairs being done. I know they are busy but, a simple call from someone would be helpful. After 10 years and paying an annual dues, paying my premiums on time and not knowing who my agent is or was is not very good customer support. I would expect more from an insurance company. I will say they have to be making a profit because they have a new fancy office now.

Its been 2 weeks since hurricane Florence hit, and 1 week since an independent adjuster came out to view the damage at our residence. The adjuster submitted his findings the same day he visited my residence. I have called NCJUA repeatedly this week, (the wind and storm insurance which covers us through Farm Bureau), and called Farm Bureaus district claims office in New Bern, as well as the Raleigh, NC headquarters office repatedly, in an attempt to get some kind of status report on my claim, to at least see how much I will receive from my claim so I can begin planning and calling contractors. All of these offices suggest calling the other offices, passing the buck so to speak, or my local Jacksonville office. The local Jacksonville office is closed and has the number to the New Bern claims office posted on a white board. The ph. number for the local Jacksonville office is inoperative, with no message directing us to call a different number, or any other means of communicating with any of those agents. The local office can not be contacted by ph or email on their website, no matter which agent you attempt to do so with, including the agency manager. This is not what I would expect after having paid my premiums for 12 years and needing to file my first claim, EVER. By the way, I called the Raleigh office yesterday 9-27-18, to see what they could do for me. I was told I would be getting a call back from someone to assist me with my questions...no call back yesterday and no call yet today, and it is already past noon. Ill be shopping around for a new insurance company after this fiasco has been taken care of, because this is not the service I have been paying premiums for, for over 12 years. Ive paid in over 18K in premiums, all total, between Farm Bureau and NCJUA, this claim will come nowhere close to even one quarter of that amount, and these premiums sure arent being paid for lousy communication and zero customer service. I have my automobile insurance with Farm Bureau as well, to the tune of over 1,200.00 a year. Farm Bureau, if you are listening, you may be about to lose 2,700.00 a year from this customer. For those of you considering using Farm Bureau, be advised, this has been my experince with Farm Bureaus home owners insurance.

I have been with Farm Bureau for longer than I can remember. I recently changed from the duplin county office to the office in Jacksonville. My new agent was Kathy Landrum. She has been great. She has helped me with all the dumb questions I have. She listens to my needs and does all she can to help you. I have always liked Farm Bureau and even with an agency right next door to where I work that has tried to get me to come in there for quotes, I will say I will never leave this company. And if you are looking for an agent and a company that will really treat you like a person instead of a number on a piece of paper you need to call Farm Bureau and ask for Kathy Landrum...
