I took my truck in yesterday 9/01/21 hoping they had time to give me an estimate. I left 45 minutes later with all repairs done and for a very reasonable price. Tim was great to deal with.

I went into this place expecting to deal with the basic mechanic mentality where they think you have no idea about anything that they do and was pleasantly surprised to learn that was not the case. They worked with me when I had to have my car towed into their shop after hours and were very respectful about it all. They even let me park my other car their for a few days until I was able to return and grab it. I told them what I needed done (power steering line - about $300 here and over $500 everywhere else I called) and asked them to check my brakes and thats all they did. Ive been to several mechanics and they always try to tack on hidden fees thinking that you wont notice, fluid here, labor here, and everything in between. They gave me a flat base estimate over the phone, had my car fixed in 2 days (wouldve been one but part was delayed coming in) and I was very thankful when the price they quoted me over the phone hadnt changed when I went in to pick it up. If youre looking for an honest shop that isnt in it just to run up your wallet then I highly suggest Tuffys. Honest, cheap, and quality care. I will be returning when I need work done in the future that I cannot do myself :)

The waiting room has just been remolded and is very nice with comfortable chairs, clean bathroom, electrical outlets and coffee. There is no wifi though. The service here is great. The guys are super honest and fair with pricing. I mainly get oil changes here but they are very helpful and always have specials on their website. Id reccomend them to anyone!

Every time I have been to Tuffys I get treated so well. They don’t try to rip off the females who are not car smart super friendly and explain what needs to be done before doing it. Tim is one of the best mechanics I know.

I was told I would get a free estimate I get there and they tell me that is gonna be 30 to $60 then they do one part of the estimate and stop and then still charge me, Im pretty sure they cause the issue themselves because they dont wanna work on the car

Tuffy is such a life saver! Even though they are far away from my place, the trip is totally worth it. Such a nice staff, fair price, always perfect repairs. The one time I took my car to a shop closer to home, I had a oil sensor replaced just to have the problem come back in a couple of weeks. I took my car to Tuffy, as I should have in first place, and they found the actual root cause and provided me with a solution without any part expense or unnecessary cost. I highly recommend these guys!

This is a great place. Recently Tuffys did some work on two of my cars. Just as in previous visits, the results were excellent. The Mechanics are top notch. I also received some great advice regarding mechanical questions on the cars.

I was very happy to find that my brakes still had 20% life. The guys also changed my license plate bulb and charged nothing for my visit. Theyre very friendly and honest and the wait room is immaculate!

Was needing to get my muffler fixed and wasnt sure where to take my car in Jackson as I dont live there. Googled for the best muffler repair and Tuffys was rated the highest. After my experience with them I know why. They were able to fit me in to their schedule quickly and my car, because of its age, and the type of muffler wasnt able to be easily repaired. While we are looking at the options to fix it, they did manage to patch/weld making it much quieter at no charge. I couldnt be happier with the service I received.. looking forward to working with them to get it resolved. Thank you Tim for all of your help!

Top notch customer service! Brandon and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They informed me of the work that needed to be done and gave me a price before they started working on my vehicle. The price was fair for the quality work that was done. The waiting room was very clean and comfortable. I was able to use their WiFi to get some work done while I waited. I would highly recommend them! This was my first time getting work done here, but it seems like a very honest and trustworthy place. I will definitely take my vehicles to them the next time I need some work done!

Ive been going to this location for service on my vehicles since 2003. Always professional, affordable, and timely with all repairs. I recently had them install an after market muffler for performance and sound quality. As expected, their technicians provided me with the information to make an educated and affordable decision. My dealership quoted a fairly large sum for a big repair job, I wanted a second opinion so I went to Tuffy. They checked it out and started with some minor repairs first to see if the issue might be resolved. Lo and behold they got my car going again for about 1/10th the price. I dont think the dealership was dishonest, but Tuffy was willing to try things to save me some money and for that I appreciate them.They shoot straight and try to help you do whats right for you, definitely the place to go.

I was recommend to go here by a couple of friends after buying a used Toyota Prius. Brandon and the other staff has taken great care of me the two times I have gone in. Twice I have had a couple of minor car issues that were not life or death, but nuisances. Brandon got me taken care of extremely fast and hasnt charged me for this minor fixes. I feel really well taken care of here! Highly recommend.

We were in town for a trap tournament. About eleven hours from home and the water pump went out on my truck. So basically stranded. The guys were very professional, courteous, and helpful. I highly recommend them, and will not hesitate to call them if I need help again.

Nice work. Could have charged me for catalytic converter and instead replaced O2 sensor for 1/4 of cost. Not cheap but honest work with high quality delivering great value!

Actually my Daddy took his car down to be worked on, but I give Tuffy Manager/Owner 5 stars for letting thing escape over his head as I walked out the door. Then later thank goodness I wasnt there.

I recently called up Tuffy to see if they could take a look at a car I was thinking to buy off of Craigslist and they were more than happy to do that for me! I was so thankful I did because when they got it up in the air they saw a ton of issues that I would have missed. The Mechanic did a great Job of explaining to me the issues and they saved me from a mistake that could have cost me thousands!! Every time I use Tuffy I always get great service and the I am confident in the job they do.

Mixed feelings as these guys have been relatively honest and recommended I not do work I requested on 2 occasions. They felt I just didnt need replacement yet. Very friendly and courteous. However, last visit they shocked me with a $1200 quote for front strut replacement. I left and ended up just doing it myself for $250.

Might be an outlier, but it didnt go well for me on an A/C blower motor issue. Left car early in the morning, and at end of business day they still didnt have it quoted. Had to call them (twice) the next day to get a price. Disappointed with that, I went to L&A and had a much better experience.

Dont let this Tuffy get you thinking each one is terrible.I am a young college student, I actually live over 100 miles away from this Tuffy, however, my hometown is near Jackson and I used their services for the car I was going to drive up to where I live now.I knew there was something iffy about this place, but I didnt want to think wrong of this places because of the vibes I was getting, who knew? Right?Initially my grandfather called a week ahead to make sure we could bring in my car, have it FULLY inspected and fix whatever we could THAT DAY because I was in desperate need of a vehicle. The technician he spoke with set up the appointment.We came in on the scheduled day and the OWNER looked at us and said we didnt make an appointment! We told him we called, he went in back and spoke with someone, and he apologized but bluntly told my grandfather that he must have not been clear about getting things done because the tech said we were just wanting an inspection. B.S.We shrugged and said we needed to have it FULLY inspected and what could be done, done by today. The owner seemed a bit put off but agreed. We left and received a call while out about what the shop found and my grandpa agreed to pay for what they could do. We were told itd be ready by 5PM.I came later that day around 5PM to pick it up. They had replaced my dual exhaust system (one muffler only fake for looks) and replaced it with a cheap single muffler, which I wasnt happy about since there was nothing actually wrong with my system. My suspension seemed more sensitive (even though the owner drove my car and said it was much smoother.) And they replaced two of my tires, they expressed concern over one, which they already replaced, because it had dry rot. There were a number of issues, but nothing dangerous.3 weeks later I am leaving work and see someone left a note on my window REAR PASSENGER TIRE FLAT. While putting on the spare, I noticed DRY ROT, in my flat. OBVIOUS DRY ROT. DRY ROT, which SHOULD have been seen if the car was F-U-L-L-Y inspected, as per request.AGAIN, I am over 100 miles away from ANYONE, ANY HELP, I spent 3 hours trying to figure out what to do because my car jack wouldnt work. I also drive my entire way to work on the FREEWAY! A dangerous and BUSY freeway. What if it blew while driving?Well I was upset, but not raging yet, I left a voicemail asking for a call back. I waited a few days, finally got a call, AT 8AM...MY FIRST day off in a week and a half. Not that they would know, however, most people arent awake yet!NOW HERE COMES THE FUNNY PART! The owner said he was the one guy we met that day we came in, he said that MY GRANDPA and him walked outside to look at the car AFTER it was inspected to show him this dry rot tire and that my grandpa ACTUALLY told him that hed only want to TWO tires replaced and that the dry rot wasnt in a hurry.ONE PROBLEM! My grandpa and I NEVER WENT BACK AFTER THE INSPECTION! Only me! What LIES?! My grandpa would NEVER let me drive a damn car without tires that werent SAFE. He doesnt even like the fact I DRIVE over 55MPH! I am beyond upset at this point...

I watched my neighbor kid, at age 12, when he took a lawn mower that was trash, rebuilt it in 4 hours, and then mowed his lawn with it. I knew right then, he would become a mechanic. And today, he is, and has worked at Tuffy of Jackson for well over a decade. He knows cars and trucks, inside and out, and hes my trusted mechanic, and also the only person I let touch any of my vehicles. If anyone knows the mechanic of a vehicle, its Tim Segar, and everyone who works at Tuffy of Jackson. Ive met them all, Ive been in the service bays, Ive seen them work, Ive talked to each of them, and I can tell you that me being 62 I know a lot about cars and trucks, and they know what their talking about when it comes servicing your car, truck, and if they did motorcycles, those too. I bought a truck from Dan, and that truck has hauled my motorcycle, and pulled a camper from Jackson to Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, Key West, St Louis, Davenport Iowa, and about every point in between, and many times. My vehicles get serviced at Tuffy of Jackson, or they dont get serviced, period. Im 62, and never in my life, have I trusted an auto service center like I do Tuffy of Jackson. Thats my stand, my advice, take it or leave it, cause Ive been there, done that.

Great group of guys always there when I need them

Took my 92 Chevy pickup in for what I thought was the ignition switch. They said it was the starter and they were right. However, they forgot to bolt down one of the battery cable clips and now I have to replace it; because it was rubbing on the exhaust. I wouldnt recommend them to anybody.
