Where do I even begin? This company is truly a disaster. I worked for Onyx MD for almost three years and it seemed great to me for the first two years. Then I went out of the office to go on maternity leave and came back to find that they permanently gave over half of my business/clients to another Account Manager. I then chose to resign from my position. This other Account Manager has worked there for almost a year and a half and had brought in essentially no business. What company does this? For real? It’s a shame that a woman cannot go have a baby and come back to her same job with this company. Keep in mind, I was one of this companies top producers every year & this is how they treated me - not that this would be right even if I wasn’t a top producer.The bottom line is this is not a company who cares about their employees. I don’t think my boss(es) ever asked once how my weekend was or how I was doing. I don’t even think they’d be able to tell you my husband or son’s name (reminder - I worked here for almost three years).It all starts from the top...bad leadership breeds bad decisions. There is so much turnover at this company and they say “it’s how this industry is”, when really it’s because they don’t care about their people. If you ever try to stand up for yourself or state your opinions, even in a respectful way, you will be shut down and Sara will write you off or try to find reasons/ways to get rid of you, because she doesn’t like to be challenged. This woman has no business being in any leadership role. Jim has let her get away with way too much for way too long and it’s not okay. The best employees are the ones that challenge things that are wrong because they want things to be better. Good leaders listen to those around them, rather than silence them.Furthermore, they hired a Director of Account Management in Feb 2020 and that’s when things took even more of a nosedive. Rather than even attempt to hire someone from within, they hired someone from the outside who had essentially no leadership experience and said “none of our current employees are ready for a leadership role.” This was not the truth. But even if they felt it was true - who’s fault is it that you are unable to train and develop your employees effectively to be ready for the next steps in their career? On top of this, the person they hired is truly a terrible human being. She will try to act like you and her are cool, but will throw you under the bus in an instant. Most people cannot stand her, but are afraid to say anything. The majority of the recruiters, account manager and ops team are great people. The real issue is the people at the top. This company has a very bad culture. They will get everything they can out of you and then either fire you, or when you quit, they will act very cold and uncaring. There are a few people there that have been there for a very long time and they are still doing the same job they were doing when they started. Some people are okay with that, but most aren’t. There is no room for career development here. So unless you want to work at a company where they could care less about you and you will be doing the same exact job 5-10+ years later, do yourself a favor and find another company to work for. There are plenty of staffing firms out there who do not behave like this. This company will never take over the industry the way they say they want to if they continue to act this way towards their employees because companies with a revolving door of employees is always taking steps back rather than forward.
