Was not impressed with the service provided by Bruce. Sent in 3 Allis Chalmer tractor gauges in various states of disrepair and was quoted $1,300 to completely rebuild them with new graphics. After I reminded Bruce that I wanted to reuse the graphics, and bezels, we agreed upon $900 to get them functional with new glass for 2 of them. 4 months later I received my gauges, 2 of which already had condensation in them, and the other with an 1/8th inch crack in the bezel. I called Bruce and he stated I could send them back to get resealed, but I had to cover the shipping and the cracked bezel was not his problem. I sent the gauges back and actually paid him to solder the cracked bezel (which I would have been completely fine with originally if it had only been communicated to me). After a few more months I was happy to see my gauges arrive, and quickly got them installed. Only to find the oil pressure gauge not functioning. Extremely discouraged, I called Bruce and was eventually hung up on after I questioned another two month lead time for a gauge that had been paid in full. I found a local shop more geared towards vintage instruments to repair the shoddy work, and was actually told it wasn’t the first time he had repaired Bruce’s mistakes. I expected more for the money.

They are friendly enough, and honest I only wish they would market themselves for what their specialty is, old guage restoration. Thats awesome that there are folks who still do a good job at that sort of thing, but many later model speedometers need service as well, which is not their specialty

I removed the instrument cluster from a 2005 Buick Lesabre and drove to Bobs Speedometer to drop it off. I walked in and was greeted and asked what I had. The guys were very friendly and told me my cluster would be rebuilt in 20 to 25 min and I could wait if I wanted. I was expecting 2 to 3 days. I was able to watch the entire time and the process of replacing the motors and lights. I reinstalled it and everything worked perfectly. I was very happy with the work that was performed.

This is Hardy, these guys are hands down the best in the business. I watched them repair my cluster and it was like watching an experienced surgeon. He was so skilled, so confident, that he carried on a full conversation with me, had me laughing my ass off and went above and beyond in the repair in record time. I will only ever go to them...ever!!!

J Shaw CA. Seen these guys on the net they looked good so I called and spoke with Bruce he gave me a restore price of 550.00 to 700.00 on my 62 Buick Electra so a few months later I sent it. I received a call letting me know they can do it and it will be 861.00 So 161.00 over the top estimate I had received but hey Bruce seemed on the up and it was already there so I agreed to have it done. I was excited to see it when it returned, the packing was great the box was in perfect condition but when I got it all opened up I of course started looking it over and checking function and first thing I tried [the speed buzzer] had to be heavily forced to turn the knob to set it and so I looked further and found the light bulbs and fixtures were all the original parts and some holders were loose and broken. I called immediately and spoke with Bruce where he instantly started blaming UPS saying they use the packages like foot balls I informed him the package was perfect in and out but he still insisted. I sent it back to him with a copy of the original invoice and when I had not heard from him in close to three weeks I called. At that point he ask well what do you want done to it . I had to explain it all again and mentioned I was not happy with the job done and there where broken bulb holders and old bulbs still in it. Ok he said we will fix it send it back, and reimburse you for shipping. Couple weeks later its back, package looks good and this time when I opened it first thing I noticed was a broken ear for the right top mount. Next thing was there was a rattle of a loose piece inside the cluster and still all the old light holders and old bulbs. I was pissed and not about to send it back again so I opened it up to find a locating pin had been broken off and left inside the unit to rattle away, also no check for the return shipping. I called Bruce again and explained what I had found to him in witch he had no concerns he ask again how much I spent for shipping and said he would send a check. I received the check yesterday so now I will post this warning to all. YOU DO NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and there is little to NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR CARE in the quality of repair.I know there is allot of good reviews but all old ones. BEWARE STAY CLEAR use a different repair shop for your protection against this type of FRAUD. JOHN SHAW Johns Import Auto Care

I want to say good things about Bob speedometer. Bruce is very nice. But it took 9 months to get my tachometer. It was very expensive. I was not overly impressed with the work that was done. Not saying it was bad, but very expensive for the work that was done. What bothers me most is the trim ring. The original was in rough shape, This was the main reason for the restoration. Bruce told me it would take time to find a new trim ring. 9 months later I go pick it up and was told he never said he would replace the trim ring. He removed the original seal between the glass and faceplate and put in a spacer which moved the gage face back nearly 1/2 from the face eliminated the seal such that debris will fall in between the gage face and glass; it was such that I could not read the top of the tach numbers once installed. So, 9 months later I am repairing the gage that I paid BIG CASH MONEY to be repaired. Now I know why he insisted on cash. I think Bruce would do everything he could to make this right but I have no more time now to make the proper repair. I can only pray the calibration is correct. Bruce is a very nice man. Not sure why he gave me back my 1929 Chris Craft tachometer in such condition. As a follow up. The calibration of the oil gage done by Bobs is 50 pounds off. I ended up repairing the tach myself. Worst $1000 cash I ever spent. Even the faceplats were incorrect and not well done. They look okay from afar but this is not even close to what you might/should expect.Follow up 4/2019:The oil gauge was working perfectly when I took it to Bruce. Bruce was to check the calibration. It is junk now. I inspected why it was 50 pounds off. The 75 pound oil pressure gauge hit a stop at about 12 pounds as the travel limited out. It would not go over 12 pounds period.Again very dissatisfied with Bobs Speedometer. I will never have anything good to say about the workmanship. About what you would expect from a 10 year old. Good Lord this was a complete waste of the $1000 I paid especially since I now need a new oil gage on top of having to repair the tachometer. Again, if you have an antique or historic vehicle DO NOT GO HERE...Do not go there for restoration work. Consider yourself warned.
