They are GREAT here!! They are VERY HONEST about what (and IF) needs to be done now and what can wait, which is great when youre on a budget. My car was in and out in no time. Their service was exemplary!! I highly recommend this shop!!!!

Ive alway been skeptical of mechanics more of a DIY girl. But I will also admit when its beyond my ability. The Auto Lab had some good reviews and a personal reference. I left there feeling respected and treated fairly. They have earned future business.

They did a great job and was the only shop in town that could do brakes without keeping my car for a week! Staff was also very kind and friendly.

Tried to charge my brother 1000$ just for a diagnosis, no work done just a diagnosis. Complete scam artists. Can clearly tell the good reviews for this company are probably made by the workers themselves. Plenty of other mechanics out there to go I wouldn’t recommend this one to my worst enemy.

I went in for an oil change and the person that greeted me at the front desk did not wear a mask. we are almost a year into this pandemic and your employees arent wearing proper protection this is crazy. He then asked for my keys to drive my car to get serviced and didnt wear a mask while in my car. A different employee checked my out by his mask was under his nose. oil change was fine.

Had wheel bearings replaced here, one of the built in ABS sensors went bad in the replacement about a month after.Brought it back in and they took care of it right away! Great service and friendly staff.

I had a great experience at AutoLab. Travis and his team were extremely helpful. They went through my entire truck and inspected it for any maintenance that needed to be done. They went an extra mile and found a couple things even the dealership didn’t find ! Highly recommend these guys. I’ll be back in the future to continue doing business with them. Nothing but a great experience from the start. Called to price out a few issues because I felt like I was being charged a lot somewhere else. Not knowing much about cars, AT ALL- I called and spoke with Max. He was incredibly friendly and patient with me and happily quoted me for the same work over the phone. It was a significant savings (he didnt know what I had been quoted elsewhere). He was actually so kind, that I didnt even feel like calling elsewhere for further pricing.I asked if I could bring the car in immediately, as it was at another shop getting something else done and wasnt currently very reliable to be driving (had bad brakes, for starters). Despite not having an appointment available for a week, he said bringing it straight there and leaving it was zero trouble. Win. He promised if they could squeeze it in that they would. No problem.The best part- car was fixed and ready to go THREE DAYS later. Four days BEFORE my scheduled appointment. I was thrilled! I paid over the phone and when they gave me the rundown of what they had inspected and done, they didnt attempt to up-sell me anything I didnt need. Simply brought to my attention some things I already knew needed fixing in the near future. Ill be back in later for those! :)These guys came highly recommended personally by locals in a fb group (why I called them to begin with)- and Ill be offering the same recommendation to others! Took my truck in to have them inspect A/C it would not work. They said it was low on Freon and did a recharge, then called me and said when they turned on the ac the compressor wasn’t getting power which I already knew. Then they had it for 4 days and decided they couldn’t find the problem, they told me to take it to a wiring specialist. They told me it was wiring under the dash and all wires in the engine bay were good. I decided to try and figure it out when I finally had time, ended up being extremely simple, a plug in the engine bay had a pin in the wrong slot. Extremely easy to figure out took me an hour with a wiring test light. Then when the compressor finally engaged it wouldn’t blow cold, and could see freon leaking out of the low side fill tube. Terrible shop they can’t handle anything more than a brake job

Its very refreshing to see that the management cares about your vehicle and getting the job done properly. This is the second time I have been there and both times they have done an excellent job, with reasonable pricing. I feel that they are very trustworthy.

This place is a joke. Dont go here they told me 20 to 30 minutes for a oil change turned out to be almost 50 minutes. There was a worker there who was off shift and showed the rest of his coworkers his 1970 something silverado. The other three techs felt it was more important not start the oil change on my vehicle and instead check out the truck for almost 10 minutes while my vehicle sat in the bay waiting to get serviced. The manager Andy was a part of the three technitians checking out the truck as well! They said they would top off all of the fluids but they did not. I went out and check the fluid levels myself, come to find that the windshield washer fluid was half empty and the coolant level was below the minimum level. So the manager Andy said he would help me out and he was sorry. His idea of helping me out was to give me 10% off! After his oil change technician told me that he couldnt mix old coolant with new and it would be a good idea for me to pay for a coolant flush. Load of you know what. This comapny is clearly getting to comfortable with its repitatuon and straying from customer service!

Owner are good guys they do good work and are priced pretty good had 4 tire put on for 90 bucks so seems pretty good

Went to have my car fixed after it started shaking on the road. Pulled in with no notice. Everyone there was amazing and they were able to get my car fixed fast which was great since I had two little ones with me. And bonus they put on a cartoon for my three year old so she wouldn’t be bored which made my experience even better!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!Beware and do not use. Did not fix originalProblem after 4 attempts, continued additional charge attempts. The owner lied to me, refused to give my keys back until I paid additional fees and vehicle still not fixed! I realize there is some good reviews but my experience was HORRIBLE!!!

Long overdue review as I’ve been going to Andy and Travis at auto lab for now I’d say 4 years. Im usually the one working on my cars, whenever I’m in a jam or don’t have the correct tool, these guys are who I go to. Never dissapointed.

Even though the receipt clearly states theyll warranty their work for 12 months or 12,000 miles, they refused to realign my Flex after 2 weeks (3000 miles). Will never do business here again. You lost 3 vehicles.In response to your comment: I guess being an honest customer isnt in your best interest. Its okay, over a $40 alignment, youve lost an honest customer for life.

Super friendly atmosphere. I could tell from the moment I met with the staff that I made the right choice. The took great care in making sure my car was completed as if they owned it. I will 100% be going back. And soon, my other car is making noises now. haha A++++

Called many tire stores in area, Auto Lab price was lower to mount & balance 4 tires. They were able to accommodate my schedule the same day. Great, friendly, fast service. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed. Had to pay $45 for an inspection that I didn’t ask for! Took vehicle in for an alignment. They told me they would need to look at the vehicle before they did the alignment. Was then told that they couldn’t do the alignment because the vehicle needed front end work. I was fine with that, but then when I picked up the vehicle I was shocked to find out that I was being charged $47.39 for them looking at the vehicle to let me know they couldn’t do the alignment. I wished they would have told me there would be a fee even if they didn’t do the alignment when I dropped the vehicle off. Needless to say I will not be bringing my other vehicle here.

Fast, friendly service. They were able to get my car in the shop quickly and Fixed my abs issue that another shop failed at doing twice. Will return for future service!

Had brakes done on my truck. They were really bad. Left it overnight so they could get a part. They had it done before the expected time. Cost was reasonable. Happy with them.

Very kind and professional staff. We broke down on the highway and are from out of town. They worked us in on top of their extremely busy schedule. Our vehicle is now running great. Cant thank them enough.

We are parents in Northern Michigan and our son is a student in Ann Arbor. My son brought his used car to Auto-Lab and Logan was able to work with us and communicate to us via phone regarding car repairs. They got the job done within a day and were very friendly and professional. We felt confident working with Logan and will certainly use his business again in the future.

So I took my car here because one of my rear wheels was squeaking on 1 of the joints. My coworker recommended them so I thought id give then a try. I have to say they were very friendly on the phone and were able to get me in right away. Honestly I felt kind of salty after the appointment because I paid a $100 for them to grease a joint for me and I had one request which was to look under the car when it was lifted up so I can see where the squeaking was coming from (so I could fix it myself in the future) however They didnt let me look under it and I wrote a long letter the next day explaining my frustration and never heard back from them. That left a bad taste in my mouth but.... that being said its been 3 months now And the problem hasnt returned which means they did a really good job of greasing the joint I still wish they would have showed me where it was so that when it does start squeaking again I can fix it myself without paying another $100 to grease a joint but regardless they did fix the problem so I cannot complain I would have given them 5 stars had they let me look up under the car to see what the issue actually was. Thanks for fixing the problem though!

My first visit to Howell Auto-Lab was last week and I wanted to say thank you to Andy, Mike and other staff for getting me in on short notice and staying over to take care of the problem with my exhaust. Top notch work at a very reasonable price. Wouldnt hesitate to go back or recommend them.

We have been getting our oil changed here for two years. It seemed like a great place. THEN, we took it in for a change in a Saturday morning and the guy said it will be about 45 min.We came back 90 min later to find they hadnt touched the car. They rushed it in & called 20 min. Later to say it was done.Fast forward two weeks. Car sounds odd. Really odd. We check the oil, there is barely any showing up. My husband calls the manager at Auto lab to ask and he instantly said you have a huge leak then, because we would never not put oil in your car. Bring it in and we will look at it.Of course we did not. We took it to our dealer who confirmed:A.) there wasnt a leak.B.) we very nearly lost our engine.C.) Auto lab is shady and dishonest, because even if an employee had screwed up- the manger handled it poorly.

Took my daughters Equinox in for an exhaust inspection and coolant flush. After my daughter got home with no heat, I looked in the system and the coolant looked like it was rusty water. When I called back to explain, the guy said I would have to flush the system 5 times to get it clean. I did the work myself at home and it only took once to get it clean and the heat back. Never trust this location. They will lie to you about what your car needs.

I cant say enough good things about Mike and his amazing crew here at Auto -Lab in Howell, MI. I was 2,000 miles over & had to get my mom to the airport by 9, the guys opened up shop early for me to get my oil changed in time for me to pick her up! He also hooked me up with the correct oil for my car even though I was using a free oil change coupon!! Amazing people and amazing service! Everyone go here!

My experience was great! Had an emergency car issue that needed fixed last minute and they fit me in and did it quickly.

Made an appointment online and they called within 30 minutes. They were able to get me in and out on the same day. The guys at Auto-Lab did their job, and unfortunately, it ended up costing more than I would have hoped. But it was honest service, affordable, and I had my car back quickly. Cant ask for much more than that. Thanks to Logan and all the guys at Auto-Lab.

Brought my car for an oil change, because they were the best price for my diesel car.The receipt shows the oil change includes a 33 point inspection, but I didnt find the results of the inspection, thus 4 stars instead of 5.They were fast and friendly, I will return. I would like to receive the results of the inspection.

Took car in for what I thought would be a vacuum leak test, but turned out to be something else entirely. Their master mechanic Herb was honest and straightforward when taking me into the bay and physically pointing out the problems to me, and providing an explanation. I was able to make use of their free shuttle service to take me home rather than inconveniencing anyone to come and pick me up. I will be picking my car up when they finish working on it, and will give additional feedback at that point.11/9: Vehicle was done same day. Really liked the 10% off for leaving a review. The things that they replaced did not fix the problem, will need to take the car to get looked at again.

I needed brakes and went to the dealership. When they told me the cost, I was floored. I asked on Facebook if that was normal. A friend suggested I talk to Mike at Auto-Lab. I called, and he gave me a MUCH more reasonable price. When I went in, they even showed me my brakes, which the dealership does not do. I will be using this company for future auto needs.

I brought my 03 Ford escape in for 2 exhaust leaks at 4pm on Friday, and the guys pulled it right on and got to work on it. They did a great job and gave me a great price to do the work. I was out by 5 PM and on my way.

They quickly determined the problem and was able to get the part for it and fix it right away. Very reasonable price. Professional and courteous service. The manager and employees are the best!

I purchased a Groupon from Auto-lab for my Daughter who lives in Howell to help her in the maintenance of her vehicles. I have over 40 years of experience in Automotive repair and I was very impressed with how they took care of my daughters vehicles. I told my daughter that these are honest hard working people that have won my trust. I do recommend taking your vehicle to the Howell Auto-Lab.

Fast service, was able to diagnose an oil leak and fix my car in the same day. They showed me exactly what was wrong with my car and gave details on how long it would take. They also gave me a shuttle ride home while they were fixing my car which is great.

Loved the customer service the two guys working Wednesday evening were awesome and willing to stay over and help get my car back up and running!! After a long day it was great to experience how nice and welcoming they are here definitely will be my go to place from now on!!

Absolutely the worst auto shop on the planet. I took my 99 F250 superduty to these people. 4000.00$ and 700 miles later my motor blew. I had multiple conversations with the shops office manager about my oil pressure gauge fluttering and asked the on 4 separate occasions to check into it I was told it was most likely the sensor when I got my truck back they insured me that my truck was in great shape. I told them thankyou and told them again are they sure it was just the sensor acting up because I was prepared to rebuild my 7.3 powerstroke they said it wasnt necessary. Now I am out a truck and because the shop manager wrote down what I wanted done and not me they now have amnesia and anytime he wrote it down it all disappeared and they say I never asked them or told them about the oil pressure gauge fluttering. They are dishonest and should close their doors.

Ive had two really great experiences here; and will continue to come here first for all of my vehicles needs. I found them to be honest and best the prices of other shops in town.

I was tired of my old auto shop giving me the run around so i decided to try Auto-lab and i was very impressed with the customer service by everyone i talked to on the phone and in the shop. pricing was even cheaper than my old auto shop. The crew and managing staff always make sure my wife and I are leaving in a safe vehicle. We always support local businesses and enjoy having quality shops like this one to take care of use even in emergencies. Everything from our transmission to my Diesil truck to putting a suspension lift and wheels and tires on our new jeep. No problems and no complaining, they just got the job done within our budget.

I had a really bad experience at Autolab. The owner was pretty nice. I came in to get my car fixed. It was overheating big time. I would have gone to a local mechanic I trust but I was too far away and I had to go to work. They told me they had to do some tests. The tests were inconclusive but they said it was not overheating anymore and I only needed a muffler and a fan. Then after I agreed to service, they took it on the highway, it overheated again. I was soaked for 800 bucks and I cannot even drive that car. Maybe if I had been a regular, they would not have taken my money for a car I cant drive. I will never know because I will never be a regular at any Autolab. I am still paying that bill and every time I make a payment, I get disgusted all over again.

Ive had some pretty bad communication with Auto-Lab. I originally took my car in a little over year about for a caliper issue. When Mike called me on the phone to explain the issue there was a miscommunication on what I wanted replaced - I wanted both calipers replaced, but only the bad one was replaced. I understand that this happens, which is why I did not write my review then. When I asked about replacing the other caliper that ceased up after the one was replaced, I got attitude about it. Once again, I understand people have a bad day and did not write a review then either.Now, a year later I am having issues with my caliper AGAIN. I went in on Friday at 5:50. I know it was 10 minutes before close, I just wanted to know if the part was under warranty. When I walked in 3 people were standing at the desk. No one acknowledged me. When I finally said I had a question about a part that was replaced I was told that the system was shut down for the day, but call me tomorrow! Well take care of you! If you are going to close early, make sure you lock your door. Poor customer service all around.
