My alternator failed on a 1996 Nissan Sentra. The Auto Doc got it diagnosed and replaced quickly. I can always count on Dave and Chris for honestly, great communication and efficiency with a reasonable price. It is refreshing to find a reputable mechanic.

Houston weather is so unpredictable. Leaving for work on Tuesday, the weather was horrible. I couldn’t see two feet in front of me because of the mist in the air from the cars in front of me.About two miles from my work, my wipers just stopped working during the storm. I struggled to find someone near me that could take my car the same day. I spoke with Chris at The Auto Doc and he was so helpful and polite. He took care of me the same day, and my wipers are perfect. Turns out— going through high water caused me to need to replace my wiper transmission.Big thanks to the staff here. I had an unexpected flat tire (tire still had treads in good condition) and Auto Doc was the closest spot. I read some good reviews after just moving the the Montrose area. The shop guys instantly pointed me to Chris and he was able to help right away without any wait time. They were able to patch the tire quickly which I appreciated versus them upselling a new tire or potentially saying they couldn’t patch it to get extra sales. I was in and out on the road again in 20 mins! Chris said to come back for whatever reason if it didn’t hold up. Auto Doc is now my neighborhood spot

I knew I needed my serpentine belt replaced and I took it to one place for an estimate. They quoted me close to $900 and told me I needed two other parts replaced, including a tensioner belt. Brought my car to The Auto Doc and, not only did they quote me close to $250 cheaper, they told me I couldn’t have needed my tensioner belt replaced because I have a tensioner chain. They had the parts and repaired my car that day and I had it back by 3 PM. Excellent job, professional and helpful staff.

Chris was extremely helpful and friendly great customer service. They found the issue with my car’s oil leak where 2 other businesses didn’t notice a thing or bother to tell me there was an issue. They also called to confirm about some other maintenance that needed done on the vehicle and gave me notes for everything related to the the repair and/or replacement of parts in order of priority and pricing for everything thing else that needed work done in the future. All in all 5 star service and professionalism would absolutely go there again in the future for any other car maintenance or repair and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I just got my car back from The Auto Doc and I could not be happier! 2003 Cavalier with 250k miles and a long list of issues that needed to be addressed, including recent transmission problems. I decided to try The Auto Doc and Dave the owner is a true and honest professional who knows exactly what hes doing. He was able to address the major and minor issues and recommend what needed to be done first, second, third, etc. to stay within budget. He was very transparent about the parts, labor, and time frame. Dave took the time to stay in touch with me almost every day with updates and also invited me to the shop so he can physically show me all the parts I needed, explain how they work, how they will improve my car, and of course the cost. He even found other minor issues that I didnt tell him about but knew needed to be done. Daves excellent work extended the life of my old car tremendously, and while I still have a few more issues that need to be dealt with, shes driving much better than before, and from now on The Auto Doc will be my go-to for car maintenance and repair. Add to that a 2 year, 24k mile warranty on parts and labor, I feel I definitely got my moneys worth! I am also coming back with my parents car soon. Thank you Auto Doc!!

I think what surprised me was how quick the repair was and the inexpensive cost. All of it without an appointment. I just drove in because I couldnt stand the noise the car was making. I am taking my car here for everything.

This was my second time there. The first time i had my starter replaced and that went well. The 2nd time i went in because my AC stopped blowing cold. I took it there and i was told they woukd do a full check of the AC system. They later told me the system was out and needed to be fully replaced and it would cost about $2500. I decided to take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion. Well come to find out all i needed was freon in the system. There were no leaks and the system has been working properly ever since. Im not sure why they said i would need to fully replace my ac system. But i would question all their repair diagnose. I paid under $110 buck for my repairs and my AC is fine. But they wanted to charge me $2500. 🤔🤨

Great customer service. Fair prices. This is the one place I feel I can take my car, and I won’t be cheated out of every penny I can afford. I was given a ballpark price range for my car problem, and the cost came in solidly in the middle. The only downside is needing to call to make the initial appointment, but this is a very small inconvenience compared to the great service.

I recently moved to Houston and this was my first time going here after having some issues because of an impact with a curb. I assumed the worst and called around thinking it was the axle that was damaged. The thing that stood out to me over the phone was that Chris at AutoDoc asked me what was wrong with my car and how it was driving and told me to bring it in for a diagnostic when every other place I called insisted it was the axle and maybe even more problems without even diagnosing it. Worked with Chris the morning after I called and he was great - It winded up being loose lug nuts and a bent wheel. The staff is very honest, friendly, reliable and professional.I’m glad to have found a new mechanic for me in the city!

Took my car in because it was making a mysterious sound and I wanted to see if they could figure out what it was. I figured it wasnt the sound system because it was off. I spent $40 for them to tell me that the car was safe to drive but they didnt know what was wrong with it. They even went as far to say that the sound would lead to a failure and that I would need to bring my car in eventually to get it fixed. I was given the option to bring my car in another day and pay $150 for them to look at it in depth and do a full diagnostic.The next day I decided to look at it myself after posting about my problem on a facebook page. I was able to find that the sound was coming from the rear right hand speaker. I found a tutorial online on how to remove the speaker and took it out. The issue isnt fixed but at least the car isnt making the sound anymore and it was only a speaker and not a failure that would cause the car not to drive.I am disappointed and shocked that a car shop would take my money and not even tell me what the issue was when it was as simple as wiring to a speaker and easily identifiable. They prey on women who they dont think know any better.

Nice people, Im sure the quality of work is fine. But the quote they gave me was higher than what the dealership wanted, which is surprising.. I did get an oil change and they filled my wiper fluid, which is much appreciated.

I stopped in for a quote on break pad replacement. Wow!!!! I WAS BLOWN AWAY WITH HOW EXPENSIVE THE QUOTE I GOT!490.00 dollars JUST to replace the front two break pads and rotors!....Unreal!..... I told a Chris “wow that’s expensive!” His words “well feel free to go somewhere else”. I took his advice I I recommend that anyone considering having work done on their car do the same.I went to J&J Elite repair and I got the job done for 250.00...I highly suggest J&J their customer service alone beats this joke of a shop.Come on almost double the cost of J&J.. I was told but Chris “we don’t use cheap parts” that’s very good BUT come on just how much are the parts at Auto Doc? I’m all about paying a Reasonable amount for parts and labor.J&J use Duralast Gold ceramic brake pads and Duralast rotors not the cheapest of parts. Which brings me back to was it the parts that were so expensive or the shop labor at Auto Doc??I will never recommend any of my family/friends to Auto Doc!!!!!!

This review is for my first experience using The Auto Doc.After experiencing issues getting my car to start over the weekend, I dropped my car off at The Auto Doc. I used the after hours drop off box and received a call from Chris first thing the next morning. After diagnosing that the issue was likely related to my neutral safety switch, Chris informed me that the replacement part would take a day to arrive. Later in the afternoon, Chris called me again to inform me he was able to get my car to consistently start after working with my current neutral safety switch. He informed me that the issue could start happening again after some time, or it may never come back. I appreciate that I wasnt given the better safe than sorry line and sold a repair that may or may not have been necessary. If I do experience additional issues with my vehicle in the future, I will definitely be bringing it to The Auto Doc.When I arrived to pick up my car I was only charged a diagnostic fee, which I felt was very reasonable. A+ for communication and A + for honesty.

Its a hobbies of mine to look at the worst reviews and to see what stuck up person had a issue with something so small... Now this auto shops dealer replies the funniest stuff. I mean it cant get better than this... I WISH they did work on dirt bikes because there is no where else Id rather take my broken dirt bike than this shop. (Just needs a clean carb but still)

This place is just great! I needed a new starter, they fixed that and then gave me a courtesy check of the rest of my car. They found a couple more problems and fixed those by the next day as well. I had a really good experience with Auto Doc. I had been needing to get my brakes worked on for a while (I guess long enough that AD had made a note about it the first time I came in to get my oil changed over a year ago) and when I brought in my car they already knew what to do and gave me a quote. Theyre fast and communicative and when I asked them to check on a noise coming from my brakes after the work had been done they happily did so without charging me anything extra. They are a bit pricey but I think youre paying for excellent work and peace of mind.

Had them do the rear brakes and front sway bar and bushings on my 2006 Durango. Quoted me considerably less than a competitor and used top quality Centric brake rotors and pads. Would rate it as a very good experience.

I liked the honesty of the owner Steve, I think- the first guy (who I have heard Is good) wasn’t too honest, so I think definitely a great place, ask questions from both the owner and his “first service guy.” Maybe, if I were a man, the first conversation, from the first guy, would not have occurred.

We have relied upon The Auto Docs service for nearly a decade and I cannot recommend them any higher. I just picked up my vehicle this afternoon and as usual, whether a major repair or routine maintenance, we had an excellent experience!

As a person in their twenties, my knowledge of vehicles is very limited. With this being said, Chris the shop owner, made it very clear the process behind what he was doing. He was understanding of my financial situation and told me what services were needed versus what services were recommended hut not dire. Regardless, he was able to keep my car overnight at his shop while it was broke down and I received it back in less than twenty four hours. I will definitely be going back here.

The Auto Doc is the best repair shop in Houston! My daughter, a student at the medical center, had 3 flat tires on Sunday night. Had her car towed to Auto Doc, a AAA preferred shop, by AAA. She did the overnight lock box and called them on Monday morning. Dave was fantastic, got her car right in to check it out. Looked at everything not just the flat tires! He gave her several options and also explained them all to me (her mom who lives in Kansas). He also took the time to explain to my daughter the importance of taking care of her car. They didnt try to pressure her into anything but explained what was really needed for this 2005 Jeep. Dave called me with updates over both days. What a fantastic and knowledgeable man! She will have all of her car service needs performed at Auto Doc as long as she is in Houston! Dont go anywhere else for your car service needs!

Great friendly service for a prepurchase inspection. My car was done after just a couple hours and cost about half of what the dealership wanted to charge.

Chris was incredibly kind and helpful in diagnosing what was going on with my car. Their website is very user friendly and allows for you to schedule an appointment. Chris called me maybe 10 minutes after my request, and I was in and out the next morning. Ill definitely be back and will recommend them to anyone with a car!

I was referred here by a friend of mine who had tire issues. I called and expected to get “in trouble” since my car was WAY over due for an oil change. Dave was so sweet and informative. I told them I only had a certain amount of money I could spend but I was willing to do what I needed within my budget. They got me UNDER budget! They even gave me skittles (lol).
