Sahayla was on video chat the entire time I was in the store, the entire time she checked me (and several other customers) out at the register, and refused to make eye contact with anyone except the girl she was chatting with on Facetime.Horrible service, extremely disappointing.

This is the worst location in the Birmingham metro area! The mask order for Alabama ended April 9 and yet people are still yelling at people who either forgot there mask or did not want to wear it. Today I came in the next day after the mask order ended, and right when I was about to check out the manager starts yelling at me and two other customers after the mask order went down and I think the employees where awesome but the manager should be fired. Whoever owns the grove dollar tree should fire the manager. If you think people should walk into stores and not be yelled at about not having a mask, like this review and stop going to the Hoover location. All the other locations in the Birmingham area are better than the Hoover one. Thank you.

Doesnt seem to have what other stores have, Store is a bit untidy.

The cashier who helped me was very impatient w/ an elderly lady she rang out before me. It was upsetting to see.

Visited this location often with my girlfriend and every single time one of the cashiers that assist us is always on their Bluetooth/cell phone & you never know if theyre speaking to you or not. Its pretty unprofessional & rude to the customer that is standing in front of them.

I understand people have their bad days but if you’re going to work at a cash register you should show good customer service and today that wasn’t shown at all. The cashier didn’t speak or nothing and after the cashier bagged my stuff up they slang it down. Very rude.

Terrible terrible customer service from the manager herself! She told me her name was Chelsea Henson which i think is a made up name she was so cruel and very disrespectful. Do not plan on going back here.

This stores manager has very poor customer etiquette! I was in line when she “went off” on a mother with her 4 little children because she forgot her mask!?! Really disrespectful to the mother in front of those kids - very disappointed.

Line was too long but then they opened another line. Not enough cleaning in between patrons on debit machine. Employees nice and had masks on... I appreciate that. 🙂

The cashier threw the shopping basket at me, I asked her why did I do that and she just got silly, I told her I wanted to talk to her manager she told me that she was very rude the woman

Clean and organized

It was crowded as you would think on Christmas Eve Eve but as always personnel was pleasant and they had what I needed.

Not only are the workers and managers in this store are always eating and/or texting whenever I enter this store, they are very unfriendly and the cashiers roll their eyes at you when you enter their line. Plus, things are laying in the isles and the store is dirty every time I have been in there. Finally, the employees that are eating are always blocking the handbaskets and carts.

I love this location!!! This Dollar Tree store is spacious, the workers are friendly, and the stores is always clean and organized. They had everything I needed in stock. This is my one stop shop for all necessities. Great for holiday decor, if you dont want to spend a lot of money.

Great Dollar tree location. The store has a good selection and not as busy as another Hoover location. Very clean inside and helpful store associations have been willing to help me get the best items for my needs

I know it’s politically incorrect and frowned upon to call people dumb these days, but stupid is as stupid does and that is what this dollar tree employees. I bought a dozen or so Christmas mugs and the clerk was too busy hee hawing with another clerk while ringing up my order. She tried to total my purchase without ringing all of it up. She then placed too many heavy mugs into one thin bag and when I picked it up, naturally the bag broke and one crashed to the ground breaking into many pieces. Again the clerk laughed and carried on with the other clerk arguing over which one would be cleaning up the broken merchandise from the floor. It just remained there waiting for someone to cut themselves on it. Finally, after paying for my merchandise I had to grab one filled bag from the counter that she was not about to hand or assist with because it would be to laborious for her to expend such effort. Again, nothing but laughter and carrying on from the two employees as many customers waited to pay.I am often disgusted with unprofessional behavior and very poor service. The dollar tree normally hires a better caliber of employee, but failed miserably with these two. Whoever the manager of this location is should be embarrassed from their failed management and lack of leadership. The shopping experience would have been a good one if only adults had been chosen to operate the registers.Thank you!

Needs cleaning, needs friendlier employees

I found everything I needed except one thing. Also the customer service wasnt great but okay. They didnt smile and almost didnt want to speak. Im going to say it was just a long day and it was almost time for the store to close in 25 minutes. Other than that I would have rated it with 5 stars.

The experience at the hoover store next door to the pet store was extremely awful. The people were ghetto and rude. My cashier however was very sweet.

I bypass a store 2 turns from home to visit this one!! Clean, well stocked and nice enough cashiers. Working for this company many years ago, i can tell you to expect long lines, payroll budgets are brutal with these types of companies. If you want a shorter line, expect to pay a lot more elsewhere

I have shopped at this Dollar Tree many times. They have a refrigerated section where I buy some frozen foods, milk etc. Today I found a lighted snowman that I havent found at other stores. They have a great variety of items and the employees are always very helpful.

Just went to this location, door was locked. There was a crowd of people & someone called Hoover PD. They knocked for 10 minutes, nobody answered. Finally someone called the store & a man answered and said they were closed for the day . He was told the HPD were there & they needed to open the door. After another 5 minutes or more he finally came to the door & said they were closed. After speaking to the officer, he was told to put up a sign that said CLOSED. He said he would but I was sitting in my car & I never seen him put up a sign-as 10 or more people tried opening the door..just weird! My concern was that maybe they were robbed or tied up or anything! You hear about it all the time. Instead he just acted like he was being bothered.

After leaving PETCO right beside dollar tree at the grove I walked into dollar tree to purchase DOG SUPPLIES and I was asked to leave. My 10 week old Boston terrier never made a noice and slept the whole time I was inside. I had customers stop to tell me how cute and well behaved he was . A store employee ignored me as she was stocking and I had to walk around another isle to get past her. This is not good business. I will not be back.

I bought a lot of stuff from this place last night. Forgotten a bag went back the manager and a black women at the register was ugly a hell, both telling me and my wife that they do not have a bag. When they did, I lost 5 dollars due to leaving a bag there and I have a receipt. I will never due business again. Those too ladies need to be fired

Its a customer experience nightmare. Compared to other like stores, merchandise is lacking both in assortment and display.One cashier, long line, frequently.One more suggestion, check your change!

Manager was very Rude!!!. The manager didnt work...Door to come in store has plywood instead of the glass door. Health hazard! Glass still near lock on door. Nasty store.

Everything was all over the place. Workers had headphones in and poor customer service.

I had to change my baby on the dirty floor in their bathroom because there was no changing table available. Thankfully I keep a changing pad in my bag because the floor looked like it hadnt been swept or mopped ever.
