The owner is extremely professional, highly respected, and well known in our community! She is clear, precise, and leaves no question when you do business with her as she treats you like family. I have been to several of her events, and all of them have been a huge success with beautiful decor! I love her flower arrangements, and the food is amazing! She has catered my events as well as our extended family. She is the only one we trust as she pays attention to detail, her drive for perfectionism is impeccable, and she is always early so we never have to worry! Her drive to excel shows from the amazing parties is that she puts together. Also, her homemade cupcakes are the BEST! I stopped in while she was frosting mine fresh out of the oven & they were a big hit at my nieces open house! I also wanted to mention how she contributes to charity events in the community & how she has a big heart for those who need help- I find compassion for others as one of the best characteristics someone can have. She also has EVERYTHING you will need, so it takes the stress out of having to coordinate what you will need for your event. I was overwhelmed, and she took over by organizing every detail so I could RELAX! I highly recommend The Charlar!

Very nice and clean venue. We where so glad they had our date available. The service and price was amazing. The landscape is beautiful. The food was very good and they packed up all the left overs that where very appreciated the next day. We had a ton of people comment on the place so I am sure they will be getting some future business. Thank you Charlar Place for making our vision a reality.

Very clean, and easy to find with ample parking. The venue would be nice for groups understand 100. Even though more can fit, its on the small side.

Just had my daughters wedding reception here they were awesome working with me my daughters husband was in Iraq and surprised my daughter 1 month earlier than her wedding date. And they helped me a lot to make this planning all happen without her finding out the real wedding date. I am one happy mom thank you again charlar place for all you did to make this the most special day of my daughters life.

Celebrating a 50th anniversary there.Great food and good service. Very nice deck area by pond, waterfall for lovely pictures. The dance floor edge was a problem with our chairs being placed close to the edge. Decorated beautifully

Pretty site. Not magical, but if youre looking for a local meeting place where people can go outside and see some water features, it was more than fine. You might want to book less tables than they allow, though, to have more room for walking.

This place is beautiful inside and out. it opened its hearts and doors to Mike Karl and the homeless angels and did a wonderful Christmas party for those that wouldnt have had one. thank you for being a great place

Always a great experience, Charlar Place is one of the most beautiful settings in the Lansing Michigan area and has one of the friendliest staffs Ive ever dealt with. I would highly recommend this venue, they offer a huge menu to choose from, full bar service and can create just about any theme your looking for. Always spotless, friendly staff and very professional. Great experience from the beginning stage of planning my event to the end! I highly recommend if your looking for catering, event planning and/or a banquet hall.

Shelley and her staff at Charlar Place provide a generous brunch and lunch for our retiree group at a very reasonable price. She and her staff are organized and work very hard to meet individual needs regarding special meal arrangements, helping retirees transport their meal to their table, and a generally open and gracious manner. Our group finds that Charlar Place provides adequate space to conduct our lengthy meeting (2-3 times a year) and the comfort of doing business with an individual owner. Thank you Shelley.

My wife and I have been to several events at the Charlar Place and only have great things to say. I would definately recommend their catering, food is amazing. The staff is professional and helpful, very clean and well kept facility. They have many creative and beautiful decor ideas, thankful for the help with this since it is not our forte.

Hands down the best place to have a wedding! I just got married on 11-23-2019 and everything was perfect!💖 shelly is so understanding and made my day one to remember, staff, dj/dj wife, and everyone else helped out so much and i was all smiles 😊 definitely reccomend them to any couples getting married or just want to have a happy, safe environment for fun!

We have had a wedding, 80th birthday party, a 16th birthday party, at Charlar Place. We love the facility inside and out. We also have had a graduation party catered off-site and off-site catering for business. We have always had great service and food. I would highly recommend Charlar Place.

As someone who was an approved vendor, I experienced lack of professionalism and being thrown under the bus by this venues owner on more than one occasion. The lack of communication, attempt at bullying, verbal abuse, and being unwilling to listen all contributed to my severing ties. I will never work with this venue again, and will ensure that any of the couples with whom I work in the future choose a better venue at which to host their wedding. The final straw came when a wedding was booked with me (despite my hesitation due to the falling out with the owner), and the owner decided (three days before the wedding) to book a DIFFERENT vendor because she no longer wanted to honor paying me for my services. All in all, one of the worst experiences of my life in choosing to work with this venue. Do yourself a favor and go with a venue whose staff understands the importance of treating their clients AND vendors as necessary to their ability to function. If a venue is going to charge for a vendor, then the venue should book the vendor, but not at this location. So, the venue makes profit but does no work, then blames the vendor for their poor business practice. At the very least, I have a golden example of how NOT to run my own business.

The staff worked continuously removing used plates and garbage, making it comfortable for their guest.

Okay place for an event, okay food, decent staff

Absolutely AWFUL! Very unprofessional. A bride expressed her unhappiness with them not honoring the quote, not providing them with the extra 13 plates of food they paid for etc. The bride was nothing but harassed by the owner because she posted publically regarding her bad experience. This is extremely unprofessional. Instead of trying to make things right, you try to defend the awful service, dont you think you should try and make it right? Oh wait, you dont think you did anything wrong. PATHETIC! And how childish that you dont allow people to put their reviews up and state their opinions about your business. It is a review for a reason. NOT a place where people can choose what they want to see. Especially the owner. Just because you think your business is so great is not the rating of others. I suspect this review will be removed too only because it wasnt 5 stars. NOTHING about the service was 5 stars at all!

Disappointed with how unprofessional this company is. Customer satisfaction is key and making sure each guests is happy with their services should be of the most importance. Asking someone to remove a review because it is negative is dishonest and completely shocking.
