Ester and Mihail are amazing! I have lived in many places from private landlords to large complexes and I have never had such an easy and stress-less time moving into my new home. My first few months here have been wonderful. Huge shout out to the maintenance and landscaping team!!! The landscaping is always beyond beautiful and the maintenance team is so speedy at coming in whenever anything may be broken. Thank you so much for new home! :)

Ester and Mihail i’ve been very responsive to our various requests and issues. They get work done very quickly and they are always very friendly and willing to assist in anyway they can. Ester has gone out of her way to make sure my move-in was easy and uneventful, even though I had rented my townhouse while I was abroad. Colonnade is in a great location for nearby conveniences. I have a lot of space, especially on my second floor with the kitchen and the living room area. It’s really nice to call this place home.

Puff pastry dough super-thin walls. How is this even called a luxury home? My neighbor has an expensive noisy white BMW but lives in an apartment. Additionally you have to climb on the 3rd floor to use the bathroom. Not luxury at all but inconvenience. Light switches are made of strings that need to be pulled 3 or 4 times just to turn on the light. Okay I get it, this is your kind of luxury. Fridge is too old without any ice & water dispenser. Noisy squeaky floors and stairs. Endless rain all year round. No sun enjoyment in Oregon. Las Vegas still has the best weather. Not planning on coming back here. Not in a million years.

Excellent place to live. Far enough away from the closest main road that the complex is very quiet, especially at night. Lawn and garbage areas are constantly clean/maintained. Walls insulated enough to where I dont hear my neighbors. You pay a slightly higher price per month than the next closest Townhome (Lions Gate*), but in return you get a higher quality of living. Overall, Ive enjoyed my stay here (going on 8 months). 5/5, will most likely renew.

Wonderful place to live. I lived here for almost two years until I got my first home :) It is very close to Rock Creek Trail and Orchard Park - so its a perfect location if you like taking a walk and if you have dogs. I lived in a probably the smallest unit they have, but it was roomy and the kitchen has ample counter space and storage. Love that each unit has a garage - something you have to pay extra $125+ to get one in neighboring apartment complexes. For utilities, they dont force you enroll in the weird and inconvenient valet trash pickup system, which was huge plus for me, and you pay for your own water only (some neighboring complexes make you divvy up equally for the entire complex, resulting in $100+/person each month, which is crazy). The leasing office staff is very kind and responsive (especially Esther! thank you!) and you get usually same day or within 24 hours service request resolved for any issues. Most of the residents are family or young professionals - so no crazy party or noise. It is a very pet friendly apartment - It has a big dog park but it also means that you have to hear dogs barking here and there all the time (but oh well, where wouldnt you?) It has a great layout, high vaulted ceiling in the bedroom, and is very well-lit and bright. Rent is not too expensive either - all in all, I think it is by far the best apartment complex you can find in this area and you get the best value for the rent you pay.

We have lived here for a couple years now, and we have really enjoyed it. There is a running trail in the back, which is perfect for morning walks. Its pet friendly, the grounds are kept clean and tidy, and the few maintenance issues we have had have been addressed in less than 24 hours after we requested help. Nicole and the other front office staff are so helpful and nice to work with. They really go to a lot of effort to make sure that living here is a great experience.

I have had the pleasure of calling The Colonnade my home for over four years now, and I couldnt be happier. I love that I can live here with my dog, as most places wont allow medium or large size dogs. The community at the Colonnade is amazing, and I love my neighbors. I rarely hear anything from them, and I spend a good chunk of my time at home since I work from home. The office staff is amazing as well! They are super friendly, helpful, respectful, and since the first month I moved in they knew my name! It isnt often that Ive needed maintenance, but every time Ive need something they have been quick to respond, and super friendly. If there is a need for someone to enter your home the staff gives you a ton of warning (both via email and a posting on your door), which is great, because I can make sure the dog is put up, and the house is cleaned! ;)The property is in a fantastic location! It is close to Tanasbourne and Hillsboro, putting everything you need within a few minutes of driving, yet it is tucked up against the Rock Creek Trail and surrounded by trees, giving you a ton of privacy.I only have two complaints about The Colonnade. The single biggest complaint I have is the lack of guest parking. If you are like me and you enjoy hosting your friends, the lack of parking is a big problem. Technically there are guest parking spots, but they are always filled by residents who have more than two cars. That means you have your garage and the one driveway spot for both you and your guests to use. The second issue I have is the lack of AC. You can have your own AC unit but it is another expense youll need to keep in mind when youre moving in. In addition, you cannot have a window unit during the winter and spring, so if you use you AC unit year round make sure you get a floor unit.In conclusion, I love The Colonnade. Every place Ive lived in has had some minor issues, but the positives of this place far out weighs them. If you have a medium to large dog you wont find a better place in the Hillsboro area! The staff all love dogs, and with the open picnic areas and huge dog park, The Colonnade is the perfect pup home!

We have been extremely blessed to call the Colonnade our home for over the last ten years! My husband and I moved to the area from out of state to finish college and fell in love and just never moved back home. We have been treated like family and taken care of in every way through life’s ups and downs. I don’t know where we would be without Nicole’s professionalism and understanding all these years, she is truly amazing! The property is always kept beautiful and pristine. The trails surrounding the property are a great escape and excuse to get out in nature, and it’s right out your front door. We have always felt very safe here, never had any issues with security in any way. If something in the townhouse needs attention, it’s fixed with one phone call or email by the time I’m off work that day. Our pool and gym are always kept in perfect condition. This is not apartment living, it’s an amazing townhouse community filled with loving caring families and young professionals. We feel so lucky to be apart of the Colonnade family. Thank you for everything you are, and everything you do for us:)

My husband and I just moved here from out of state, and choosing this apartment complex as our first home has been the best choice weve made so far. The staff was extremely helpful with the whole process of renting the unit and moving in; we worked mostly with Nicole to set up the lease and Esther helped us during the move in day. After move in, they continue to be extremely helpful even with more trivial concerns. Ive been thoroughly impressed with their work so far, and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming into the area - especially as a total Oregon newbie! The neighborhood is beautiful, weve really enjoyed their amenities, and we definitely appreciate the easy access to Rock Creek Trail!

Just moved in at the beginning of August and have been very happy with my experience so far. Nicole in the office is a wonderful person and very accommodating. Dog friendly with trails behind the complex. Apartments are well kept. The gym is surprisingly nice with a range of equipment. Can’t beat having an attached garage and no one below or above you. My only complaint is the side walls are thin and you hear your neighbors occasionally on either side but that’s to be expected having people living next to you. Lots of shopping centers nearby with everything you need. Would recommend!

We loved living here so much we returned after renting somewhere else. Walking trail behind the complex is beautiful and peaceful. Pet friendly community. Management was kind and friendly, we are so sad to be leaving this community.Clean place to live, quiet. Floor plans are large, the kitchen was a dream by any apartment standards (and many homes). Two car garage did afford plenty of storage plus room for two small cars. Living room was spacious for our rather large couch. Master bedroom had great views of the forest/walking trail behind the complex.Highly recommend living here.

Review №28

The location is great and ultimately the reason we picked this community. The town homes are nice. However, the management is terrible! They constantly play games and make ridiculous excuses. They are quick to blame a problem on someone else, IE someone higher up or someone they have contracted. The maintenance team is great with responding to requests but often do the same as the management making lame excuses for requests and sometimes just say that’s just how it is. While the primary office associate is very friendly, she has been managing the office alone since we moved in.The grounds are clean and fairly well maintained but plants that die are not replaced so there are many bald spots around the community. Parking for visitors or additional vehicles is horrible. There isn’t enough parking for the community. They have been doing some upgrades within the community, IE roofs. However, the projects seem to forever on going. Making parking even more difficult, the community noisy, and overall a bit of a construction zone for the current tenants. There was recently an issue with the trash compactor that took over 6 weeks to fix. In the meantime they parked all of the dumpsters along the back of the community underneath several units’ balconies.Though, many of the units have been ‘upgraded’ the quality of the upgrades are very poor. They install the cheapest stainless steel appliances and their ‘wood look floors’ in the two bedrooms is just vinyl floor. We decided to upgrade our unit and pay the extra monthly, we greatly regret doing this. First, we really felt it was a bate and switch, we were told things would be upgraded that weren’t. Second, the quality of the upgrades wasn’t worth it considering that this community has one of the higher monthly upgrade fees in the area. The floors squeak quite bad in our unit and we can hear our neighbors floors doing the same through the walls.Their excuses for ‘dog stations’ are a joke! There are only 2 or 3 in the community; they don’t have a trash can attached to them, are out of dog bags half the time, and difficult to access. The dog park was great, however, since they added the wood chips it has been less enjoyable. It was nice that they added them to try to help with the mud during rainier times but when it is dry the chips just slide everywhere and no one comes to pull them back up the hill. Also, since they added the chips many people have not been cleaning up after their dogs. The chips are also so big some dogs find them uncomfortable to play on.We came into this community with high hopes but every since the day we moved in we have become more and more disappointed. Which is especially frustrating as we were hoping to find somewhere we would like to stay for a few years.

This place was okay for a first town home, we lived here for a year and it was alright, nothing too great but nothing too terrible. for the PROS i would say the huge pool, very clean throughout the community, the hot tub, the trails were nice right behind the townhome easy to bike and jog to and that its a non smoking community. the CONS for me were the paper thin walls, we heard our neighbors every night when they would party and scream until 5am nothing was done about our complaints, my mail was missing at least 5 times and management told me they werent responsible even though the mail was sent to THEIR office so im not sure how you cant be responsible for losing my mail when its being sent to your office and isnt allowed to go to my door due to your rules, getting maintaince when anytning broke was always a struggle we had also gotten locked after hours out of our town home on a cold winter night due to leaving the keys in the gym and were told by maintance they arent paid for after hours and wouldnt come help us unlock the gym doors. the townhomes themselves arent bad but theyre very tiny if you have lots of things and arent very modern or anything special. the biggest thing for us was the increase of rent from $1450 to almost $2,000 to renew our lease for a small one bedroom townhome.UPDATE: an update to your reply my mail was missing and never returned several times before covid last year in 2019, the blonde girl working at the clubhouse told me herself that packages with USPS are not allowed to be delivered to our door and that i have no way of changing that even by contacting the post office, nothing was ever addressed about our noise complaints for our neighbors behind us that would party until 5am, our voicemails were never returned after hours and our written complaints were never addressed either. the residency isnt under my name on google which im not sharing on here but we were quoted $1850 and with utilities and PGE equaled to $2,000 for the small one bedroom which is the major reason of why we moved out, im thankful for esther for being the only employee that was kind to us all the time.

Was good while it lasted!! I had a situation where I wanted to move units as my current unit was close to the road. So I asked if I could move to another unit that was priced equally as my unit but toward the back of the property. They are not at all accommodating for situations as such, other than that is a decent place to live.

We have lived at the Colonnade for 10 years and by far the current office and maintenance staff are the BEST! Maintenance requests are seen to next day if not same day. The office girls greet us with smiles every time we walk in, know us by first name and take that extra bit of time to chat with us. The grounds are well maintained, and the pool is crystal clear during the summer months. Another perk is that the Rock Creek interurban trail runs right behind the complex which makes running, walking, & biking so accessible. The Colonnade is in the heart of everything, less than two miles from the hospital, shopping, restaurants, etc. Living here has been a very pleasant experience and we highly recommend this complex!!

Ive lived at the Colonnade for 4 months now, and I absolutely love it! It is easily the best place Ive ever rented. I stumbled across the Colonnade after two days of apartment hunting in Hillsboro, and Im so glad I did. A few things the Colonnade has over its competition: The units are BIG; Im in a 1 bedroom townhome and I love the size. Parking is included (each unit has its own garage). The community is clean and quiet. Ive never had any issues with loud neighbors. Actually, the units are laid out side-by-side, so you never have to deal with loud upstairs neighbors stomping around. The staff is super friendly. The prices are competitive. Theres a walking/running/biking trail and a creek right behind the property. I cant say enough good things about this community.

As a car guy, moving to the area a year ago I only had two requirements, a nice place to park my car, and living close to work. This apartment is probably the best value you will ever find for an apartment with a garage! I looked around at different options it found it dumb that other apartments charge extra for a carport and charge an insane amount for a garage. With that in mind, you get what you pay for. The apartment is comfortable and clean, but calling the interior luxury is a stretch. Another downside is lack of parking for guests, but that never bothered me.That said there are some really nice perks to living here. First is the location of the Rock Creek Trail. Its literally steps away to one of the nicest trails Ive ever seen. I honestly believe that its a hidden gem. Second, you get a world class concierge team. Okay not really but the ladies in the front office are amazingly nice. I was treated like I was staying in a resort. I will definitely miss them this was a great experience

I cant say enough good things about the folks who work at The Colonnade.- Quick & helpful maintenance- Dog-friendly (breed restrictions but no weight-limit)- Safe and clean. High ceilings, open living space, very large bedroom, walk-in closet. Light & bright.- Flexible lease length. Month-to-month is possible (although not cheap).- Love the shelf at the end of the bathtub. Can store so many bottles of shampoo & conditioner!Cons:- Guest parking is quite limited, and I expect the folks in the 2 & 3 bedroom units are having to play musical parking spaces every day.- Walls are thin - I can hear my neighbors snores and basically anything that happens in the neighboring bathrooms. I have quiet neighbors though, so this has really not been a problem for me.- No A/C (although window units are allowed). The ceiling fans upgrade is definitely worth it.

Wholefoods, Trader Joes, Safeway all within a mile or two. No built-in AC, though- many people (including me) get window AC units.

I have only been living at the Colonnade for approximately 2 weeks, but so far I love it! The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Both Katie and Nicole in the office have been extremely helpful, answering any questions and offering their assistance as needed. I have had 2 small maintenance problems; both were fixed within 2 hours of my request. With the Rock Creek Trail seated adjacent to the property, it is a great place to live for outdoors enthusiasts and dog owners. Coming from Vermont and not having the opportunity to view homes prior to my move, I signed my lease with the Colonnade based on online ratings and pictures. The online photos are accurate and the complex information provided by the managers via email and phone was honest. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my choice to live at the Colonnade.

Staff was very friendly and made the leasing process painless. [Single bedroom] Units are large, nicely furnished, and in excellent condition. Prices are quite competitive, especially considering the attached garage. Community is quiet, and nicely isolated from the major streets. I lived at The Colonnade for 2 years and it was a great place to live. The ladies in the front office were great from the day I moved in till the day I left. The location and layout of The Colonnade was great. The running trail that runs along the backside of the townhouses made it is to go for a run. Great place to live and if it werent for me wanting to get away from the Oregon rain I would have stayed at The Colonnade for a long time.

Ive been in the other apartments around here and I personally like this place the most. The town houses them self are great and I dont have any complaints that I can think of. Having a garage is awesome and I feel bad for the people who have to deal with parking out side at the other apartment complexes. The management and staff here are all very nice. I would recommend renting a place at the colonnades to anybody looking for something thats a step above the surrounding apartment complexes. The location is also amazing Its about a three minute drive to Buffalo wild wings and all the other amazing restaurants and shopping centers. The people who live here seem to be really friendly to.

The only place I would sign a lease before I saw the property. The website itself had great detail and Nicole was more than happy to answer the many questions I had and show me around the property. Just moved in a few days ago and I truly appreciate how much at home the staff makes me feel. With a trail nearby to run/walk, a nice large pool, a good- sized 24 hour fitness center, lots of lighting, many stores/ restaurants, friendly faces, and well-kept grounds; I look forward to my next chapter here in Hillsboro!

I moved into Colonnade apartments in December of 2017. This place needs a total upgrade from the outside/in. Nicole one of the staff managers is very nice and always willing to help. The other staff members not so much. If you are looking for a place to call home, this is NOT the place to do so. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every little thing your neighbor(s) do(es) not to mention if you work night shift...Forget about getting any sleep. Also, since my husband & I moved in, there has been a lot of construction going on. We have two huge construction cranes right outside our apartment. It’s very hard to pull in and out of the Drive way. Please, ask a lot of questions before signing a lease.

We have lived in the Colonnade for 2 years and have loved it. Nice quiet neighborhood with lots of grassy areas for your dogs. Close to Rock Creek trail. The staff are friendly, Nichole was great for moving in and everyone in the office is helpful. Turnaround on maintenance requests is quick. The location is nice for me – close to where I work, lots of stores within a short distance. It’s also right next to a wetland, the Rock Creek Trail Loop, which is great for running. During the winter the exercise room is good for running as well (two treadmills, two bikes, two ellipticals – I don’t usually have trouble getting a treadmill when I go later in the evening after work). My apartment itself is very nice; there’s plenty of space. As mentioned by some other people though, the only parking is your garage, your driveway, and some common spaces. Also, the top floor can get a bit hot on those occasional days of the Oregon year when it’s fairly hot, so I got a small air conditioner for my upper room and would recommend that.

So this is my first non-frat style house, something that I would like to truly call my home! I just moved to Hillsboro, OR on short notice because of work, and I really didnt have a chance to come here before hand to scope out the housing situation. So I had to settle with some online reviews and pictures. I was impressed with the reviews of this property and decided to call the number listed. I was promptly greeted by Nicole, and she was so courteous and knowledgeable about the whole area that I felt comfortable trusting her and this property. What I saw when I moved in was exactly what I had imagined, it was a my first real home away from my parents! The luxury of having your own garage as part of your home and not in another location just makes this property that much more valuable! Plus, I love to go on long jogs, and there is the Rock Creek trail just behind this property! I commute everyday to downtown Portland, and the MAX station is a quick mile and half away from here, and that pretty much puts me in close proximity to the wonders of Portland! Love this place, and I love the management...and I would recommend this to anyone of my friends!

I lived at the Colonnade for one full year and was very pleased. The townhomes are spacious, on three floors, and fairly well maintained. They are a little older than some of the nearby apartment complexes, but the unique layout with no one above or below outweighed the newness issue. The office staff was exceptionally helpful and my one maintenance issue was corrected almost immediately. They are very concerned about safety doing sprinkler system and fire extinguisher inspections annually. The location is ideal: 5 minutes to the MAX train station, bus stops, and shopping. But, although close to all these amenities, there is a natural feel to the complex and walking along Rock Creek trail is just steps away from your front door. The only negatives are a lack of parking spaces (each unit has its garage and a short driveway) and neighbors with motorcycles who feel compelled to use their garages like auto shops. But, if I were to return to Portland for a job, I would definitely consider renting at the Colonnade again.

Have lived here for just over a year now and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. The rent is a little on the high side but you get what you pay for. The attached garage is awesome, the grounds are well kept and all of the small maintenance requests Ive made have been handled professionally and in less than 24 hours. The staff is wonderful and very responsive via email or phone and are always happy to go out of their way to help.As mentioned by others, the only downside is the very limited guest parking. Certainly not a deal breaker, but a little annoying when your friends are having to walk several blocks to get to your place.

Overall we really enjoyed living here. You don’t get bothered with management having to come into your apt all the time which we have had problems with in the past with other places. They’ve been doing some roofing work so it’s been a little loud, but all apartments do work. And at least they are taking time to fix things! Very dog friendly and there are large grass areas to take them in front of the buildings. The one negative about this place is the parking. If you have a large car or truck and you can’t fit in the garage, and need 2 places to park. Don’t even bother moving in here because you will not find parking.

The staff is friendly, its clean, spacious, safe, and close to the shopping area near by. I moved here because they are owned by NALS. I am not as happy here as when I was at another NALS property back in New Mexico. The buildings are made with cheap materials so I have found that I can hear everything going on outside my unit. If there was a way to give negative stars, this would be the time. Here is the list of items that were issues throughout our time at the Colonnade:1. Each and every toilet overflowed at least once. The secondary upstairs toilet overflowed multiple times and even flooded the floor so much that they had to pull up the carpet and bring in an air blowerto dry everything out.2. The place where they pulled up the carpet was at the seam between the hallway and a room, which caused carpet fibers to show a gap.3. The flooding went through the floor and to the ceiling of the lower living room which caused the drywall to bow and leak onto the carpet below.4. When the toilets flushed, the pipes would bang against the walls. One time it repeatedly banged against the wall so hard and rapidly that we thought the pipes had possibly busted. We had the maintenance come out to which they found no reason for alarm. The individual informed us that it was normal and that it happens frequently.5. The burner on the front right of the stove was constantly going out. All attempts at fixing it by maintenance were met with the burner going out almost immediately after they left. The stove is old and needs to be replaced.6. Eventually all of the burners ceased to work at all to which videos were taken showing the burner dials set to High and hands resting on the burners. This did nothing to speed up the process to have the stove replaced.6. The kitchen faucet would shut off on its own when anything else other than the high setting was used rendering it virtually useless to wash hands or gentle use.7. The walls are pretty thin and you will hear your neighbors if they are even within a moderate decibel level. This can cause some awkward moments when you hear them and then get to see them after arguments or exercising.8. Canine excrement is evident after it rains. If you have a nice breeze and you open the windows, the aroma will fill your home.9. Electrical outlets were used so much that plugs would not stay seated in the sockets.10. Washer and dryer are old, loud, and extremely inefficient. The dryer takes several runs to fully dry loads.11. Main entrance foyer allowed water through the front door because of space in between threshold and bottom of door, which caused swelling of door jamb.12. Dumpster divers are frequent visitors.13. Fan lights were an upgrade that cost extra.14 . Rent increased to almost $300/month per each individual month or $125/month if renewing for a year.15. Before we moved out, we asked the maintenance person if there was anything additional we could do before handing in the keys to the unit. They informed us that they would get back to us. They never did. Two months later, they charged us over $900 for replacing carpet because they said that both stairwells and the bottom room needed to be replaced due to cat urine smell that was already in the unit before we moved into it. (See number 11 for flooding of bottom floor from rain and number 1 & 3 for toilets flooding the carpets.) They never notified us of anything until they sent a bill where they subtracted the deposit and left a significant balance left for us to pay. This is robbery, plain and simple.16. They were hesitant on giving an itemized listing of what we were paying for after we moved.17. They tried to write in as much as possible for items that were not caused by us, such as a stress fracture of a long window pane above the sliding glass doors which we filed maintenance request for months in advance. This is not luxury for what you pay, by any stretch of the truth. You can rent a house or condo for less and you wont have to deal with the stress this management company causes. If you happen to come across this place or this management group, the NALS, its truly not worth your time and definitely not worth the extra cash you will be shelling out once they hit you with a statement for monies owed to their negligence in taking care of maintenance punch lists.

We have not lived here long but so far we LOVE it. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable. The property grounds are kept clean. The office staff is very friendly and on top of things. All my queries or concerns have been addressed right away. We reserved this townhouse sight unseen and Nicole in the office made the process extremely easy and hassle free. I love that we have a garage for 1 car, the 2nd car can be parked in the drive way.Cons - I wish there were more parking spots for Visitors though. My only other problem is with the residents who dont pick up after their dogs. There are doggie poop bag stations conveniently located and it shouldnt be so hard to act responsibly and clean up after your pet.

Dont believe the google review please check Yelp.I lived in colonnade close to 2 years. Be very careful. Apartment location is good but the management is really bad. There are various reasons I am saying this1. I got locked out once and I called the maintenance guy for help. His exact answer is I am not getting paid on sundays so i cant come to help. After that i convinced him by paying some money.2. As soon as I moved in, I placed work order for the blinds since it is too old and not working. They didnt even replace the blinds for 2 years and after I moved out I got charged because it is bent.3. There is an outlet in the garage ceiling and They called that as holes. I got charged when I moved out.4. They dont even have any record of what are the things damaged when i moved in.So my advice is, if you are planning to live in this apartment please take picture of all the outlets and make sure they work on their work order or you are goint to get stupid charges.

We lived here from late 2011, until mid-late 2012. There are plenty of perks to this property and I honestly wished it worked out to be a better experience for us, because the property is beautiful and its right on the Rock Creek Trail, which was truly wonderful! Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. Every other month we were being bothered by some type of updating on the exterior of the units. We had spiders crawling the walls daily! Some which were extremely large! The icing on the cake for us is when our neighbors were using fires in their fireplace to heat their unit and smoke was billowing into our unit through our fireplace! When I complained to management, I was told, you have to understand some people use their fireplaces as a heat source. It took me a call to the FD and Fire Marshals office to grasp the offices full attention, which should not have been the case! When Maintanance finally checked the problem out, there was an issue in the wall and things were actually being damaged from the heat inside the wall bc the fireplaces were made to be decorative, not used to heat the whole townhouse. When they saw the smoke billow in for themselves, they agreed it was a serious problem...I had a cat and a toddler at the time, I wasnt trying to cause issues, I was just trying to resolve a realistic problem! Management was always snooty, except for Nicole. Nicole was always a sweetheart and truly deserved to manage the whole facility even though it seemed when we were leaving that she was getting the short end of the stick. Not sure who is still in management, but if I were the company running the place, and Nicole was still there, I would make sure she got the opportunity within the company that she deserves! She was a shining star, always kind and friendly, always doing her best to help the tenants. The other two that were there, were real pieces of work!

Huge bedrooms, ceiling fan in bedroom and living room is a plus. I love having an attached garage. Very quiet apartment complex. Very dog friendly place and lots of places to walk the dog. They do have breed restrictions but no weight limit. We have a view of the park which is wonderful. Its an older building so things do need more repairs than usual but maintenance has been very fast at repairing most things and are always really friendly. We have had issues when they contracted work out - unprofessional companies who damaged the apartment and personal items. Lease went up $150 per month after the first year. Spiders are a huge problem for some apartments and not others. Spraying doesnt seem to help but I try to knock the nests outside the apartment down which does help. Apartments are nice and warm during the winter but extremely hot in the summer so Id recommend extra fans and air conditioning. Pool doesnt get cleaned that often and is usually kept at an extremely very cold temperature. The office staff is really nice and helpful. Parking is limited but its rare we couldnt find a spot for a visitor. Most people are really nice who live here but I did get threathened with death by a gangbanger who lives in the apartment complex. But if I did get shot, Colonnade is very close by medical facilities.

Ive lived here for 2 years. Lets start with the pros. The people in the office are nice, the surrounding area is great, I dont have kids but the bus stops right in front of the entrance to the complex for those who do have kids, theres a garage, surrounding trails are great for dogs, and theres a dog park in the complex.Lets get into the cons. The microwave they installed before I moved in is set up in a dangerous way. When they set it up, they replaced the range on the stove, installed it there directly into the lights. If my lights are on, the microwave dims all of them. Its so bad that its thrown my breaker more than a few times. My washing machine leaks, its always leaked. Ive called maintenance, and guess what they said? Its supposed to be like that. Mine does it too. I can hear it dripping, sometimes it even comes through the light fixtures on the floor below. Again, Im sure thats safe. I have an emotional support animal, small border collie. When I moved in, they wouldnt accept any of the 4 letters I had brought in from the VA that expressed need of said animal, which is illegal due to the Americans with Disabilities act(federal law). Im sure they knew this because they eventually got to the point where the people in the office just said keep the dog, just dont tell anyone the situation. They went from posting things on your door, to emailing info without saying anything. Then they went and doubled all the utility fees without explanation. My $1285 rent turned into about $1500 REAL fast. The month to month fee I was charged when my lease ran out bumped it to up $1600. Roofers come once a year to replace what they did last year. Im not a roofer, but Im pretty sure youre supposed to get more than 12 months out of it.I would never consider moving into a place operated or owned by N.A.L.S. or whatever again. If youre considering moving in here because of the area, then I would suggest checking out the complexs near by. They even made moving out difficult. I asked them so send info to the new place Im moving into, and they told me no, and that the new housing complex had to ask for it for privacy. I wasnt asking for it for myself, I was asking for it for the new complex, whom they had been speaking to this entire time for the same reason I had been. The only reason I called and asked was because no one could reach the office.Long story short, the only part of this place Ill actually miss is the garage. I can find dog parks, and trails somewhere else. For the price you pay, youre better off paying mortgage. I paid more here than any of the friends I have living in the area who have 2-3 bedroom HOUSES.

It is unfortunate for me that I have to move to OR for employment at this time. There is currently a housing shortage in the greater Hillsboro area due to a temporary local hiring boom in the silicon industry. Thereby allowing property managers to redefine services and fees. Less service and support but more fees and terms. I have shopped around and the parent company of The Colonnade, NALS, seems to be more towards the leading edge of this wave. If I had an alternative I would not be signing a lease here but they are the only property with availability at this time. From what I understand is due to the exorbitant increases in lease rates upon renewal. I dont mean to single them out. This is a commentary on an industry that is taking advantage of their community in a very near sighted manner. On the good side the Colonnades price/SqFoot is better than their competition, Lions Gate, which I could not afford.
