I am a Special Education Professional in the Catawba County School system and for 8 years I taught a class of lower functioning students that most people would not think would have much to contribute, but when my husband and I had my car washed today, one of my former students was working there. He was so excited and proud of his job that it made me swell with pride. I was very impressed with Sams Express Car Wash for seeing the value in this individual!!! Its always great. I prefer to wash my truck myself, but, when Im in a pinch or pressed for time, I go to Sams Express. They just do a fantastic job quickly. Free vacuums, lounge, and floor mat washers are always a great perk for the prices. Highly recommended. Their subscription plans arent a waste of money either.

I love this car wash because my kids destroy the inside of my car and I can vacuum for as long as I need. The car wash is quick and easy and the kids love riding through it to watch the different colored soaps. The employees are always so nice! I wish they did detailing as well!

Its a nice car wash, and I like that I can shampoo my carpets and seats, but the trash cans were full.

Affordable and convenient.Only thing that could be considered missing is having drying towels handy like other spots but it is a nice a nice to have at best.

They usually do a pretty good job here. But if you have an unusually dirty (aka muddy) Jeep, you may end up with a cleaner passenger side than driver side. It’s just due to the fact that the person pre-washing the driver side has much less time than the other side due to additional responsibilities. But all in all a good wash.

Went for the first time Saturday (Feb 20th) to clean my daughters car and I cant complain. When I was vacuuming I noticed two of my tires were still really dirty. Kirby asked if I needed any help and I told him about it... he went and got a brush and towel and cleaned them for me. It was so nice! I told him it was my first time and he asked how I liked it. Then he told me he loved working there as well. Im one of those people that like to call my patients by their names and get to know them so I appreciate when someone goes beyond! I went back today (February 23) to clean my car and had the same great experience.

With the emergence of Hickory as hot spot for new businesses, Sams Xpress is the second new age car wash that has come to Hickory. As compared to the other one in this area, Sams has MUCH better pricing and customer service. Inside they have free coffee, vending machines that are reasonably priced, and clean restrooms. I never thought Id buy a monthly car wash membership until I visited Sams a few times! The staff are always so incredibly friendly, and I love that their headquarters is just an hour away in Matthews. Overall, a great establishment.

From the pay station to the prewash area, all of the employees were friendly and attentive! Best car wash I’ve had by far at a Sam’s Xpress!

The gentleman at the order screen was super helpful. It was my first visit and I really appreciated his help! My husband got a free truck wash after talking to him. Win-win situation! Happy customer! 😊

Really like my local Sam’s Xpress! Always good service and super convenient. Love when Chad is assisting at the entrance, he is so happy and helpful. I am a top wash club member for some time now and love the convenience of running by.

Been here a few times, and has been a 5 star experience each visit. Staff as easily identifiable (appreciate the fact they wear uniforms), engaged and treat each custom (vehicle) as if its their own.The pre-scrub is a nice offering too. It ensures that most, if not all, debris is removed from the surface before entering the wash. Lastly, the different offers satisfy each customer... whether you need a quick wash or a more thorough wash, they have it - at great prices.The pics of my car are from the basic, express wash. Keep in mind that I recently went to Wilmington, NC and back.. so you might imagine the grim, dust and dirt on the car. Not bad at all for a $6 wash and some tire shine.

The car wash was great and the free vacuums but the older gentleman that stands at the automated machine when you try to pay is so aggressive . I tried to pay on my own and repeated multiple times I did not need his help and he refused to listen and started getting aggressive with me. When I then a third time told him to please let me pay and leave me alone he started to get agitated . While he wasn’t wearing a mask I told him sir we are in a pandemic and I don’t want him that close to me he started making fun of me and what I was asking of him. So unprofessional and aggressive I will never be back to this location and make sure I tell everyone I know .

Great place to go. It is very clean. If you need towels to dry your car...just ask. Routinely someone will check to make sure you are happy with your car wash.

Josie at the Hickory location is WONDERFUL!!! We lost a mat there and she is doing her best to find us another one. She called me on day one when I let them know and since then we have communicated together to solve the problem. I recommend Sam’s Express car wash in Hickory to everyone everyday. Horrible, The attendance dont tell you nothing! They expect for you to just figure it out, The full car wash claims to armor all your tires but I had to put some on to notice! Wont be back!!!

The carwash is decent for the price, however the prewash that the attendants do is mediocre at best and the last brush on the passenger side of the car doesnt even touch my car. But the main thing is the water stinks. It smells like vomit. They may recycle the water but it needs to be changed and cleaned. The smell has gotten worse over the past few time weve used it.

I would of gave 5 stars but it looks as if one of my tires was totally missed.

The tires shine makes your wheels dirty, theres water spots all over. Probably will just stick with Sams on 70.

After my car wash I found gear grease up the drivers side . I showed the young lady and she said to bring it back around and they would rehash the car. A young man took a sponge and took a sponge and got it off. I am very thankful to these two fine young people.

Solid car washes for good prices!

Great place to get your car clean as a whistle, if you dont mind brushed auto washes. The vacuums are free for as long as you need them. I would suggest bringing your own tire stuff!

Matt was awesome today I brought my white car that was absolutely filthy lol in for a TOP WASH running it through the first time didnt get it clean like I thought it would so matt took care of me with hand washing what the wash missed and running it through again a 2nd time at no charge even after I offered to pay again bc I knew how dirty my car was, no questions asked I will continue to do business here because matt went above and beyond for me and my car today

Great car wash to get your car cleaned up. They offer alot of other services like free air, mat cleaning, window cleaning, and of course vacuuming there car.

Came to wash my vehicle 04/13/216:45pm and the all front still had bugs and side view mirrors, told and staff member the manager came out great guy help me get them off the car, did a good job then told me to run the car for another wash, one of the guys was talking bad on me complaining about the bugs but didn’t notice I was hearing them talk, definitely unprofessional and rude from the staff member

Everyone is very friendly. The kids love the colors in the bubbles and the free vacuums is a huge plus. Their bathrooms are awesome too. Very fancy. We always get the most expensive wash and that gives you a free wash anytime in the next 4 days. Great value and clean, neat establishment. Highly recommend!

My truck still had dirty spots after going through the car wash. The free vacuum worked well and was a nice touch.

Took my Moms car there when she was in town for a visit. She thought the wash job was excellent and the free use of the vacuum cleaner was outstanding. The two of us vacuumed that car for at least 30 minutes. We did the interior, the trunk and even under the hood.

I enjoy the way the guys pay attention to detail and the time they put into their job. If no one else takes the time to tell you guys that youre appreciate, I will stand up and say it.

It does clean your car

Okay Ive only gave a few reviews in my life and all of those were five stars...until now.Ive ran my 2005 Mercury car through drive thrus such as Wiki Car wash and other similar ones in Hickory NC and never had any problems... until Sams Xpress in Hickory NC. I reported the damage done to my driver side back door to the Manager on duty and he himself even pulled footage showing no damage prior. They wouldnt do anything to fix it.

I had a mishap with the money machine ( my fault, honestly) walked up to get it resolved. The guy seen what happened and we settled up. They went over and beyond making me happy I stopped.. They took extra good care of me. I just wanted to leave a good review for their hospitality. Would definitely come back and refer a friend. Thanks

Decent wash, like all the automatic wash places good for loose dirt etc. Vacuums are good and no extra charge. Ive been here a dozen times or more and get a worker either standing at the pay station or running out trying to take my debit card and make screen choices for me. Its very annoying and unprofessional to me. Pretty confident I can conquer those tasks by myself.

Unlimited monthly pass + black vehicle = Im here a lot! Friendly folks, well-maintained equipment & clean facilities. What else would you want from a drive-through car wash?

UPDATE: The last three times I’ve tried to get a vehicle washed here the card reader would not work on either machine. I tried three cards and finally drove away because it wouldn’t read either card and no one would take the time to walk down to see the problem. The time before these three tries, they took my card inside to another reader, I got home to realize the charge wasn’t on my card and I had a receipt with someone else card on it. I never received a charge for this wash.Does a great job at a good price! I took a vehicle in the other night just minutes before closing and most places would have rushed through and halfway did it but nope, they treated me like a king. They took the time to ensure the bugs were all scrubbed off the front, the windshield, the wheels and all was clean spotless.

Was considering getting the unlimited until I did a walk around on my car after getting a 20.00 wash...um nope....i had to come home and do a hand wash to actually get off what they didnt get washed off...

Updating this review to 3 stars as we purchased a $20 wash yesterday when coming out the passenger side of the vehicle still had visible dirt down the side of doors where the attendant did not hit it with the brush manually and neither did the auto brushes. Should have checked the vehicle before leaving.Paid for $9 wash when we came out of the wash there was still mud on my vehicle. Informed the attendant and he allowed us to go back through at no charge and apologized several times...although when we came out the second time still mud and no vacuums were available. Several vacuums had blue cones sitting in the spots so you could not use them.

Have not been to this carwash in several months. I went today and purchased the premium car wash. After the wash I was inspecting my vehicle and noticed the wash did not clean my vehicle that good. I paid 13 dollars for the Premium wash and it looked like a 5 dollar knock the dust off wash

Great customer service!Just moved to North Carolina and the car was a mess after driving 3000 miles.We drove up to Sams Xpress and was greeted with a happy to be there attitude associate. He explained ever available service Sams Xpress offers. We went with the monthly. I really like the free vacuuming and you can get a token for the floor mat washer, wow thats awesome. I work in construction and my vehicle always needs a wash, even after it rains. Yes, there were open during a big rain storm and I was able to have my vehicle washed and vacuumed.Friendly associates and awesome customer service.Thank You for the awesome welcome to North Carolina!

Really enjoyed the visit compared to other wash stations in Hickory. Their top dollar wash is cheaper than other new car washes and it includes another wash for free if used with in 4 days. Not to be forgotten but your wash includes a vacuuming .

If your Matts are weather ones just asked they will scrub and clean them off for you. If your have a disabled child or children and it starts getting a little dark they can turn the lights off so you can see all the lights..One Mother told me her child artistic and it makes him so happy.

This was the worst car wash I have ever gotten. It cost 2.00 more than Wiki Wiki and you get a crappy wash. I had to get out clean and put more tire shine on because only half of each tire was done. The vacuums have poor suction and my wheels didnt even look like they had been hit with water, let alone soap. I will never go back. Wiki Wiki will get all my business from now on!

Good service. The cleaning is pretty thourough. Free vacuums are a plus. And depending on which tier of wash you buy, you get discounts on future washes.

Its decent for a public car wash but I prefer to have my car detailed. Public car washes damage your paint jobs on your cars.

Great location, great service by the staff Everytime. Senior parent uses it almost every 3 mth checkup conveniently beside Dr visits.

Simple way to do is pay what kind of wash customer want then wait on person tell you by the sign by employee hold in hand then you are free from steering wheel til the end of tunnel then back to drive to free parking vacuum.

Love the fact that the employees take their time to make sure the vehicles get washed correctly and that you get to vacuum your vehicle for free after you pay for the wash!

It was fast and fairly painless. $3 more than other auto washes, but the free vacuum and no hassle was worth it!
