Mediacom only just recently decided to raise my bill by 160% without warning and conveniently their call center was experiencing too much traffic to process my request for a representative. I had been a loyal customer to them for a year and the promotion for that was that my bill got raised with my service staying the same, not to mention that my service had been progressively slowing down through that year I was a customer of theirs. It hadnt been much of an issue since I dont use that much bandwidth as I only have two devices, so I didnt really bother to get that fixed. Im also not lying when I said promotion either, the representative I had to go speak to in person told me that my promotion for one year of service was to get my rate increased. Not only that when I went in to look into the price raise with obvious dissapointment Mediacom refused to offer to lower it.Needless to say I will never do business with this greedy shameless corporation anymore and I will suggest to anyone to refrain from giving them your money. They dont care about their customers and especially their employees considering they are most likely dealing with a lot of distraught customers over their price hiking. Im willing to bet they arent going to pay their employees any better for having to deal with that extra work and headache.Edit: My math was incorrect on the percentage that they raised my bill. 60% of my bill was tacked on extra making it a total of 160%

Keep the good work Mediacom the internet service is blazing fast best internet around Hibbing in my Option never have any issues with this company thank you for letting me be a valued customer glad they can keep with what stuff I use the internet for never had any issues yet best ISP. in Hibbing sincerely Jon a valued customer.. I dont know why people complain so much about Mediacom they have to pay their bill no matter what if they want internet any company is like that cant get stuff for FREE!!

Jason our tech from Hibbing did an excellent job hooking up our internet, phone, and tv. We moved from AZ to Minnesota and was not familiar with mediacom. He had new wire brought to the house from the pole and installed the box where we needed it to be. He unpacked the equipment and put everything where it needed to go. His customer service was above and beyond what we expected. His knowledge of how things worked was appreciated. We had lots of questions and he answered them all. He was so courteous and professional about his job. He spent several hours at our house getting things right and in order. He definitely is a GREAT ASSET to your company! We were very happy he was the tech that came to our house. GREAT JOB JASON!!!

Terrible customer service.Lied to me about switching my appointment to an earlier date. Technician came to my house three days after that date. He needed to access a telephone pole on city property. We gave him the Citys phone number to ask for permission and he just left. He didnt bother calling the city or us. Now I have to wait another two weeks for internet. Very disappointed with Mediacoms service. I paid for a service that I cant even use. So frustrating!!

Dear Mediacom,I am a customer who is totally unhappy with your money hungry attitude who would go for any lies to snatch money from customers.I had a previous bad experience of mediacom from my wifes mother having to pay an equipment fee that was returned ten years ago. Mediacom said they dont have any information for more than 6 months and they cannot give back any money for more than 6 months.But I had to take MediaCom coz unfortunately they are the only provider around here who can give good speed. I do appreciate the technology they provide. Let them make more money selling the technology. But why selling on cheap business tactics when if you could give good customer satisfaction you have the capacity to grow. Else the whole company is gonna shut down the minute another provider comes up with a decent speed in the area. Coz almost all of the customers of Mediacom I have talked to are unhappy. I even had an employee who agreed that other cable companies she has worked with have better policies that are more customer friendly.Let me come to whats happening right now. We had to take internet for one of our roommates. I was still the secondary in the account. Firstly I was not happy with the installation fee Mediacom made us pay because I am an engineer. I know how to connect the cable to the box. But Mediacom wouldnt give us an option without this guy coming to your place and also not an option to not have their modem by default (so if you forget to call them and say you have your own modem you are gonna pay an equipment fee every single month without even you realizing it).But that was fine. Then the roommate had to leave and we requested that mediacom transfer it into my name. Mediacom wouldnt do it unless we paid 100 dollars for the transfer. They said the transfer involves the guy coming again and setting it up. I said All I want to do is transfer the names in the account. I understand an activation fee for a new account. But why the whole setting up again and 100 dollars.So we had Mediacom cancel the old account and they were supposed to cancel it by the end of that billing cycle. But they didnt cancel it by then. Moved on to the next billing cycle. I thought well, now I will just pay them the months bill anyway and deal with it later as its quarantine time and our jobs depend on internet. I dont want the internet to shut off in the middle of this.We slept yesterday with internet. Around 1 AM our smart stuff like the baby sound machine got disconnected because of no internet. The lights and every smart device we have is messed up. Worse. Our phones have less service here so we need a booster that uses internet to give service. All of this went down at night. In the middle of the quarantine time!So I wake up, setup a new account right away and processed the payment. Got a receipt for it. Its for the first time I am seeing a receipt that doesnt have even a temporary confirmation code on it. It said they will call me in 72 hours. Since I didnt wanna wait 72 hours. I called them. They said I didnt do it. Like literally that receipt means nothing. And I cant read any code to them because it doesnt exist.So the money I spent on the beginning of the billing cycle is gone because I dont know the social of the person who left. The money I spent in the morning is gone coz i dont have a receipt and they will want me to pay more money when the person comes. Whatever,  I just need to get this done !Anyway they tell me the next time anyone can come and fix it is after 4 days! I told them how we really need it fixed. Like they can come fix it quick or I can do it myself. There is no wires disconnected or anything all we need is activate it by account. They LIED to me that the wires were manually disconnected and someone has to come fix it.Like literally someone came in at 1 AM in my backyard to disconnect it. We can even see his footprints in the picture I took.At this point Mediacom is just a joke. Like how can they find happiness with the money they make.

If anything goes wrong, they dont stop until its fixed. That includes sending out repairman to the house which is happened with us a couple three times. But you cant ask for better service than that. And they dont want to send repairman out and their help on the phone is really good. But weve never had a complaint that wasnt fixed and weve had about 10 of them. They always help if not on the phone then man comes out personally. In my book thats what you call good service.

If you are just going to pay your bill, this is the place. If you want or need anything else, dont bother. That was what I was told directly from the person behind the counter. They wouldnt even look at my mothers death certificate and confirm or fax it to the number home office provided them with.

Mediacom Minnesota is rated D on the Better Business Bureau website, and i think thats VERY gracious. If i could rate them as 0 stars i would. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Hibbing deserves better than this. Crappy service, always goes out, data caps, you can never get a for sure answer, its never their fault with any issue, and so much more. I absolutely hate this internet company. But they sit pretty because they know their the only worth while provider in town.

Ordered service to our new home explained what we had they collected $129 and waited a week a tech came out looked at the pole and the house got in his van and left Get a call.from a lady in Missouri stating we have no existing cable to our brand new home they can not service our house. Lazy and lack.of service not willing to run cable from a pole to our house still waiting on a refund

Dont even consider century link up here. In the cities century link is a solid company but offer poor service in Hibbing. Mediacom does have a terrible call service as they have a third party from a different country take your calls. But you can get around this easily by calling your local mediacom store directly. The third party call service have little to no idea what deals are there or what the packages actually are. But if you can get past this youll be more then satisfied with their service. ***Ive had them for about a month and the one reccomendation I would give anyone is to buy your own modem/router. Saves ya the 10$ a month and from other reviews with what the tech guy said, they dont have the best equipment. I got a netgear ac1600 modem router combo and it works great with their 100mbs service.***Edit after 1 year they play games and my bill went up to 79.99. would not reduce it back to the original price so I cancelled. I see after the year century has nearly doubled there speed to 20mbs. Alls you need for 1 person for streaming Netflix and Hulu while using the computer.

Their tv is horrible! Satellite is so so much better.. I cant believe I ever considered having cable... Intersat Communications in Hibbing made all my tv headaches go away instantly!

I have a business account and home account with Mediacom and all I can say is how disappointed I am in the customer service, I can never get any human to answer my call when I have issues. just all automated answering service! I need help. I am ready to cancel both accounts

Signal always dropping (over 2x per day), they sell data by the gigs (lice cell phone companies), a way to upcharge when you go over!! Cannot wait til a different internet provider comes to my area!

Wow! The equipment is junk Wi-Fi cuts out and the lag is horrible they just hooked up the service and right away nothing works right just terrible and we have to wait 5 days for then to come out and fix what should of worked the first time really!! Get you stuff together and fix your equipment. Update I had to buy my own modem its Motorola model sbg6580 so glad I gave there junk equipment back and got my own internet works perfectly fine now save your selfs the headache and buy this Motorola modem.
