When called for a proce quote advised wanted my cheapest option for a new/rebuilt engine install, he immediately advised me that they could do cheap but the quality of work would be cheap. I thought that was a bad answer! A persons quality of work is their assets and what makes customers return. I immediately knew this shop was in to get over on people and decided this wasnt the shop for me.

I brought in a Toyota 4runner with a axel wobble. He was able to give a great price to do a very difficult job of replacing the bearing and did it in a quick time.

I paid nearly 4500.00 dollars to have my engine pulled and rebuilt by enrique and staff. First incident was within 2 weeks of driving the truck home the crank position sensor failed due to being installed incorrectly. Enrique (the owner) tried to charge me triple the cost for the part, which I refused as I wasnt the one who installed it incorrectly. 2nd incident, at 8000 miles after rebuild and several months over warranty, the engine blew up. After having the engine professionally torn down, they found an old oil filter pump gasket broken in pieces that got sucked into the oil lines and journals. (it was not replaced at rebuild). Also they used WAY to much gasket sealant (caulk) as balls of it were in the oil journals too. The piston rod bearings had failed and rotated underneath one another. The engine knocked so loud you could not drive it to save your life. The conclusion was that this engine was disassembled and rebuilt by someone without a clue. They left old broken gaskets, left loose untorqued piston rod cap bolts, excessive amounts of gasket cement used, and broken old cracked gaskets, caused the oil journals to plug up and the engine destroyed. I am seriously warning you, DO NOT TRUST A REBUILD TO THIS SHOP. They will not stand behind their work. I lost nearly 5 thousand dollars by using Unique Engines. Stay Away! Mark James, San Ramon
