Got a quote from them when I first moved into my house. I explained to the owner that it would take me a few months to have the shutters installed since I just spent all of my money on buying the house. He said thats fine and he would honor the quote whenever I called in. What I didnt know was it would take a few yrs before I was able to have the shutters installed. They honored my quote even though it was yrs old and the price of materials went up. The owners customer service is A-1 and installation was quick. Ive recommended this company to friends and everyone loved their experience. Hanes is a great guy.

HORRIBLE customer service!! We called them to close the shutters prior to the hurricane. The shutters were serviced by a different company a few weeks ago and were closing smoothly. Unfortunately we weren’t able to use the other company to close the shutters because they didn’t have availability. After the hurricane we called Hanes to open up the shutters and they either purposely or didn’t close it properly initially which caused the wheel to come off track. When we spoke to technician he said the entire shutter had to be replaced!! We immediately called Ally, their customer service rep and she said “ Idk... some things just dont go as planned.” DEFINITELY stay away from this company! Very unprofessional and overpriced!BTW, the previous company that we used came today and fixed the problem in less than 30 min without needing to replace any shutters like Hanes claimed

The best possible hurricane shutter company in South Florida. Top notch expertise, experience and ability to understand issues and solutions. No reason to search elsewhere. They did outstanding work on our complex high rise balcony shutter system. The guys (Alan and other excellent person- sorry missed name) finished the project and did a spectacular job. Understatement. Super qualified, prepared, efficient, knowledgeable, great to work with. I cant thank them enough. This was one of those rare gold standard experiences where a company is leaps and bounds ahead of others, and when the project is completed, youre in disbelief how great it turned out, and how easy they made it for the customer. Hans shutters is a great company and would highly recommend them. The owner came out prompt and gave me a very good competitive price. Once I signed the quote they were very fast to get back out and get the job complete. Not only did they go above and beyond but the made sure the job area was spotless before they left. Look no more Cornell is a stand up guy all the way to their receptionist Becky who was very professional aswell.

Alan and his nephew serviced our shutters that Hanes installed 7 years ago. They arrived on time and answered all our questions. We were unable to move the pins up and down to close them properly. Didnt know the set screws had to be lubricated too!

I had Hanes Hurricane Shutters and Windows do all of my windows and Doors to Impact. I also added the Electric Rollups on all of my windows, doors and my patio to close it out for when a storm comes so I dont have to move my furniture, and I love it!!The owner came out on a timely manner, he gave me an accurate price on the spot.They applied for the city permits and when everything was ready they came out and didnt leave until the job was done. They even took care of the inspection for us, so we really didnt have to do much other then be home for the installation period.The guys who did the installation were very nice and very clean, I really didnt have to clean much after they finished.I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants shutters or impact windows and doors.

Buyer be aware. Make sure that you get a permit. Hanes shutters told me I didnt need a permit when first installed. Ive had issues with my shutter since they were installed. With hurricane Irma the shutters came apart and I called several times but they were too busy to come out my electrical wire hanging out and coming apart. Went to my city for help and found out Im getting fined for not having a permit. It shouldnt be my fault and Hanes doesnt get fined. When I called to tell them that the owners daughter knew the contractor doesnt get fined its the home owner. Paid alot of money for them to do the job and gave them business and this is how I get treated. Plus the last time they were here they never finished the job they had to correct needless to say I have not been able to use my shutters to this day and scared that if I turn a light on around the area i could have an electrical fire. To this day they have not gotten a permit and will not get one. I also have not been able to use my shutters SO BUYER BE AWARE YOU NEED A PERMIT TO HAVE THE SHUTTERS DONE. NOW I HAVE TO GET FINED AND LOOSE THE MONEY I SPENT BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE. THAT IS BAD BUSINESS FOR THE CITY TO HAVE A COMPANY WORKING IN THEIR CITY THAT WOULD DO THAT TO THEIR RESIDENCE AND KNOW ABOUT IT AND THEY FINED ME. WHO ELSE HAVE THEY DONE THIS TO. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY TO DO THAT TO THEIR CLIENTS. I ALSO REPORTED THEM TO THE BBB AND THEIR REBUTTAL TO MY COMPLAINT WAS THAT I AM VERY HEAVILY MEDICATED AND THAT I WAS ARRESTED THERE AND MY FATHER WENT THERE AND SAID NOT TO PAY ATTENTION TO ME BECAUSE I HAVE PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS. THESE ARE ALL LIES MY FATHER IS 86 YEARS OLD AND WOULD NEVER SAY THAT BECAUSE ITS NOT TRUE. THIS IS HOW THIS COMPANY WORKS. PROVE I WAS ARRESTED OR DETAINED YOU SHOULD HAVE A POLICE REPORT. We would not recommend this company based on our experience below.On 11/28/17 we signed a contract with Cornel Hanes from Hanes Hurricane Shutters & Windows, Inc. to supply and install 4 Impact Single Hung Windows (Eco Window System) and 2 Impact Sliding Glass Doors (Eco Window System) in our condo unit. They ordered the City of Hollywood Permit and the windows/doors.They contacted us 3 times in February/March 2018 to schedule an installation date. The first 2 times they called us on a Thursday afternoon and wanted to install the windows/doors the next day. Both times we told them more advanced notice was required for someone to be there to install the windows/doors the next day. The 3rd time they called we scheduled a date and time. They never showed up for the appointment or called. We called them to see why they didn’t show up and they told us the windows/doors weren’t in their inventory. We were very confused and had no idea why they kept calling to try to schedule the installation.We finally scheduled installation and the windows/doors were installed on 3/23/2018 and 3/26/2018.We then needed to schedule an inspection with the City of Hollywood. Ali or Becky (office help) at Hanes said they would schedule it with the City inspector and let us know a date/time. They scheduled it for 4/17/2018 and would be there sometime before noon. At 2:00 pm we called and they said we just needed to be patient and the inspector would be there. He never showed up. We rescheduled an inspection for 4/26/2018 and again they didn’t show up. We contacted Ali on her personal cell phone and she promised to get it scheduled. Since we are not full-time residents we authorized our condo security to let them in and they still have never scheduled the inspection.On 5/27/2018, a family member was at our condo during a tropical storm and there was water coming in through one of the sliding glass doors. They could hear wind whistling in around the doors and the windows. Obviously they were not installed correctly or we wouldn’t have water inside the condo or wind coming in around the windows and doors.I called Cornel Hanes on 5/29/2018 and left him a message to call me back. As usual he never called. I called again on 5/30/2018 and left him a detailed message that if he didn’t call me back I would take legal action against them. Cornel called back that afternoon and I told him about the problems. He said they were very busy and would need to review his file at the office and call me back the following day. He never called back and we have not heard from anyone from Hanes since 5/30/2018.Would not recommend due to their lack of communication, issues with installation, terrible service and lack of follow up.

My experience with this company was very unpleasant. If you want to deal with an unorganized, inefficient company then youve come to the right place. My shutters were not installed until 3 months after I signed the contract which exceeded the time frame in which the contract specified. When questioned, they told me that they had dropped the ball. Keep in mind the contract was signed well before hurricane season. However, service did not get much better. I had to constantly stay on top of them and follow up. This should not be the case especially when I am paying a lot for their services. Its a shame that they couldnt get their act together because the shutters seem to be of good quality.

The service was very unprofessional. We were promised our shutters for a specific date and they failed to provide them within the time frame. We had to call them a WEEK later and they were still not available. We called the store and the owner on multiple occasions and no one tried to alleviate the problem or apologize for their actions. Once the shutters were complete, the people that were supposed to drop them off where HOURS beyond the given time frame and no one called to let us know they were running behind schedule. Furthermore, we were not given everything that was promised in our quote. For example, we were told that there would be a map of where to place the shutters as well as numbers on the panel to assist in placing them in the correct place. This was not provided. Overall, terrible service and unprofessional in all areas. I would not recommend using their services.
