Great company that did a top notch job servicing items that decided to go bonkers. A month ago, our oven decided to do its best imitation of a flash of lightning, after which all it did was stick out its tongue at us. The Olde Homestead came out and promptly fixed it, thereby helping us to make things from pizza to Frito Pie.Over the last weekend, our washing machine decided the time had come to give its best air raid siren impersonation. In addition, it wouldnt spin, thereby leaving us with a machine that was loud enough to wake the dead while the wash sat there, soaking in soapy water, contemplating the meaning of life. Thankfully, the folks from The Olde Homestead came out and fixed it. Now, the washing machine operates smoothly (much to the appreciation of our eardrums and the noses of others.)

I called on Friday and The Olde Homestead took my information, asked me about Tuesday, but said it could possibly be Monday if I could work it out.I got a call Monday morning and was asked if that afternoon woukd work for me. It did.The repairman showed up on time and was here less than 40 minutes. He answered my questions and dealt with the repair issues.I am extremely happy with the way i was treated. We recently purchased a new washer and dryer but could find no one to help us with installation of our dryer due to a unique issue with the dryer vent. I had a problem with both my dishwasher and washing machine. The technician was able to do a diagnostic test and had replacement parts on the truck. Within an hour he has fixed both appliances. Very pleased!

He was fast, efficient, had the replacement part on his truck, and as important, he was friendly.Would I have liked to pay less? Sure, wouldnt we all? We have used Olde Homestead for our appliance repair needs for several years. Their staff are knowledgeable and courteous; they come when promised; and have always been able to resolve our problems. Other reviewers here have complained about service charges, but anyone who knows anything about appliance repair these days understands that $100 for a house call is pretty much the starting point these days.Recently our 10-year-old oven went out and we were not happy about the prospect of having to replace it. We did some research and couldnt find a basic range with the simple features we wanted. Jesse was able to do some soldering to get the oven going again without having to replace a $200 control board. Very grateful for his help.

We had a problem with our gas range where the regulator wasn’t working. Greenville Appliance recommended Jesse at The Olde Homestead. He said “Jesse’s been doing this since he was a kid and his company knows what they are doing”. Sure enough, when he arrived, he tested a few things and realized exactly what the issue was, ordered the parts and will be ready next week for repairs.In the meantime, while he was here I asked him to look at my microwave turntable (which isn’t working). Whirlpool techs came out and fixed it twice already then it broke again and they said I needed to just buy another microwave and that I was cooking too high on the stove (mircrowave directly above stove) and have to keep fan on when cooking! (I try to but don’t always remember and why is that my problem??). I haven’t had time to go buy one so I asked him to take a look. He opened it up and found that Whirlpool techs didn’t connect a relay properly on their last visit and the wires got fried. He spliced them and re-routed them away from the direct heat of the stove and (10 minutes) the microwave works perfect.Well...I was so impressed so far, I told him our dishwasher soap dispenser spring was broken and wouldn’t work (same issue, other techs said part had to be ordered). Jessee got out a tool, fixed the spring and it works!Total charge for today (inspection of stove, microwave and dishwasher repair.....$85!!). Stove repair later will be $275 (but that includes the regulator and his time to install, test, etc.).Overall very fair business practice and knowledgable honest service (all you really ask for!!).Well done! Highly recommend.

Eight year old GE washing machine decided to quit on us and I called around to get repair. Dealer #1 did not return our call. Dealer #2 said they could make an appointment for us in a week (wife would not have agreed to that proposition). Called Olde Homestead before lunch and answering service personnel stated they could have someone out around four oclock. Service man arrived after calling first to let us know of his arrival. He suspected a common problem bad solenoid valve, but wanted to double check our water lines first. Yep, it was a service line problem saving us $50 on the valve part. We appreciated the very courteous and professional service. Reasonable charge for the home appliance repair appointment. If needed in the future, we will call The Olde Homestead again.

I paid almost $200 on Friday. I was told a full diagnostic would be done. The tech said my water pump was cracked,he replaced and ran m some water to check for leak. Friday night, I did a test load,water leaked and water level would not stop. If I had not been watching, water would have flooded kitchen as well. I called this morning and told they had a lot of emergencies and would have to work me in! Unless those other emergencies were paying customers who washers they failed to fix the first time,I should have been accommodated today. Now I have to wait until tomorrow between 3 and 5!; losing more money. I work for a large company, I will make sure every knows this.

So glad others received good service but mine was anything but!! They did not communicate at all---I had to call them to see when they were coming & what time. When the service men arrived they spent 15 mins --did not take the stackable unit down but ran an empty cycle & said the floor need to be reinforced so I had a contractor come out & do that we ran an empty cycle too it was fine but the minute we put clothes in everything changed!! The unit was still bouncing around on the spin cycle so I called them again the man who answered the phone said he would talk with the technician I waited 24 hours but didnt hear anything from them so I called back their response was there wasnt anything wrong & there was nothing they could do they wouldnt even come out & observe a wash cycle with clothes!! If I had not called them I wonder how long they would have made me wait for a response I would not recommend them to anyone!!

Wow! great experience today with Olde Homestead. They service major appliances and even kitchen aid mixers! For me it was a dishwasher that wasnt draining. We are totally DIY and couldnt fix it. Other businesses that offer this type of service were much more expensive and couldnt come out very quickly. Joe came right out and fixed it no problem. Clean, hardworking, honest, and a great price. I will definitely recommend this company to family and friends!

I have no idea how this place has any rating over 1 star unless they were done by the owners family and friends. My elderly parents needed someone to check the vent on their dryer. They are not able to pull a dryer out and change the venting tube so this company was called. We realize that their should be a convience fee for changing this, but how in the world can you justify charging $127 to change a $15 venting tube. Talk about taking advantage of the elderly. They should be ashamed of theirselves. I could understand a $65 or $75 charge for the convience of someone else doing this but REALLY $127? Please be advised and if you need appliance repairs done you should definately pass this one by and keep looking.

Couldnt ask for better customer service. Responded next day to fix broken icemaker in 2 year old refrigerator, knew what they were doing, had to order part, came back same day it arrived and installed and all is well again.They are good at what they do, kept me informed all the way, and I felt pricing was absolutely fair. Repair guy was at my house for 15 minutes to tell me what was wrong with my refrigerator. No repairs were done. I dont know how you justify charging someone $78 for that !

My 7 year old Whirlpool front loader washing machine died mid-cycle one day and, knowing nothing about appliances, I was in a panic to have it resolved ASAP. The load was locked inside the machine, soaking in water. I called a few appliance repair companies and I felt that some of the maintenance call fees were too high and others just couldnt fit me in for a few days. The folks at The Olde Homestead won me over with the following: 1) Lowest Price for the technician to come in and look at the appliance to determine the problem 2) Immediate response - they were able to fit me in to their schedule *that same day* and they called me about 5 minutes before they arrived 3) Excellent customer service - thanks, Ken!The technicians that came in to diagnose the problem and then fix my washer were polite, personable and extremely helpful. They offered me different options as to where they could order the required part to repair the machine, which ultimately saved me money! They were honest and knowledgable and I never felt for one moment that they were ripping me off or taking advantage of the fact that I know nothing about appliance problems.
