They had a mason that did a fairly good job but when they couldnt get enough matching bricks, mason put old and crumbly ones back in. They charged me a small fortune and charged me for sealant; telling me that seal would even hold the crumbling bricks. THAT was a total farce - they crumble more than ever. Simply put, they just dont want to waste their time with a small job (they promised they would follow up on) because they are getting enough business. Now they act like Im a liar. Mark Empie was the person they sent out - we have an historic old home; and he promised he would replace said bricks when he found more. He now has his own business and just as Chimney Cricket did, they totally ignore my phone calls. The crumbling brick was THE main reason I hired them in the first place. Later, I realized the house needed MUCH more re-tucking. I have place a complaint with the BBB and Chimney Cricket didnt even care. Also, they used my photos of our house for promo purposes. Look them up on BBB before you go with losing your a** with serious overcharges; somewhere around $11,000. I still have the paperwork in my email box. Now Im nothing to them.

We needed to get some repair work done on our chimney before finalizing the sale of our house. We called Chimney Cricket and they came for the estimate right away. The estimate went great -- Jon was friendly and prompt with the numbers. We booked our appointment, which we had to wait a couple weeks to get. The day before the appointment, I called to confirm and was told we were all set. The service man never arrived on the day of the scheduled appointment, but left us a long, rambling message about getting stuck at another service call and not having a working GPS. When we called on the next business day, the receptionist who answered the phone put it down and whispered a bit, and then told us a service person had shown up but wasnt qualified to do the job. When prodded further she said she wasnt sure what had happened, but would call back by the end of the day to reschedule. They never called. Another chimney company was called and they did the same work for almost half the cost.

Horrible service. Stay clear of these folks. The receptionist needs sensitivity training. The sales man needs to respond to customers. The management is missing in action. To be fair, I think they are trying to grow so fast that they are forgetting the basics. Its been a three month ordeal and Im done messing with these people. Theyve been to our house for the forth time now and yet the job is not complete. Save yourself the hassle and find a reputable company

I worked for Chimney Cricket they screwed me out of $8,000.00 for 3 jobs I completed for them from Start to Finish with Very Satisfied Customers at the end of each job. I also bid and got probably close to 20 jobs for them and never received a single cent of the commission . When I told them I wouldnt start another job until I got paid the owner of company fired me. I called week later to ask if my check was there with no response. Week after that I found out I had a Warrant for my arrest. The secretary Told police I assaulted her. I had 3 witnesses I was in South Haven doing a Chimney Job plus debit card statements. Still had to hire a Lawyer who advised me just to take Lie detector test. Which cost me $600.00 I passed with flying colers. Wyoming Prosecutor still pursued the matter all the way till day of trial costing my wife and I another $5,000.00 before he dismissed the matter with the ability to still pick up later if they wanted. Needless to say this Company is Evil and Good Luck Getting Justice if need be in Wyoming. The so called owner John Cerritos claims to be Holier then holy with Very close relationship with God. He is nothing more than a Wolf dressed in Sheeps Clothing. They pay there Laborers $50.00 a day with a 1099 also most of there Chimney Workers are 1099 workers yet not licensed or insurred. Meaning if they get hurt at your house your getting sueued for there injerys because you allowed a unlicensed contractor to work for you with out seeing proof that they are licenced or insurred. Chimney Cricket is suppose to insure there subcontractors technically if they are not insured themselves but dosen t leaving the liability on you for not checking and falling for there aloution they are doing what they suppose . PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY OR PAY THEM IF THEY DONT SHOW PROOF OF INSURANCE AT END OF JOB IF ALREADY WORKING FOR YOU. MY WIFE AND I ARE SRILL PAYING FOR OUR INVOLVEMENT WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL BE FOR SOMETIME BECAUSE OF CREDIT SCORE ENDED UP BECOMING AFFECTED ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER PAIN AND HEARTACHE.

I had an appointment scheduled for a Wednesday morning between 11:00 and 3:00. I got a call around 11:45 that day saying that they had to reschedule, no other information was given. I rescheduled for the next week on a Thursday between 11:00 and 3:00. I got a call around 11:30 that day saying they had to re-schedule without giving a reason.I could have had another company come in at any time, but now, 3 weeks after I made the original appointment, i still do not have a working fireplace for the winter. I am very disappointed and will not be calling them in the future.

I agree with Lakan! The sales man Terry was great when I made an appointment for someone to come out. Cliff (service man) came out to my home very nice man. He thought my gas fireplace needed a new valve. They were going to call me as soon as they found out which one needed to be ordered. One week later my husband left a message wondering what is going on. We never heard back from them. I just call again, which now has been two weeks from the time they were out and Terry stated...Oh we just got the part in yesterday and he lost his messages last week????? Ok??? I was quoted by the service person that came out it would be $100-150 for the value and they would waver the $85.00 service fee because they could not do anything the first time they came out. I thought this is a great business to work with...wrong!!! Terry the sale person, who answers the phone, stated it was going to be $450.00 installed. When I stated I was informed it was going to be $100-150 installed because I already paid $85 dollars he stated Well it would really be $550 installed but I wavered the $85 already. I could buy a NEW fireplace place for that!!! He did not seem to care. A new value does not cost that. I have done the research. Oh well they made $85 dollars off me... on to the next sucker! I am on to someone I can trust. I wish I would have read the review from Lekan first.

Awful. Rearranged my work schedule a week in advance, called the morning of to ask a question and was told they had to cancel, no explanation or apology. When calling to book another company was told they hear that a lot about this place. So unprofessional.

I also had a scheduling nightmare with this company. Plus the quote they gave me initially was not honored when it came time to pay the bill and even then the guy didnt come prepared to do the task that I needed done which was a log tuneup. Wont be getting my business again.
