I was so glad that I had the Better Business Bureau to turn to when I knew I was right but the company would just not listen to me. They had me going in circle for almost a year. I had paid 2 accounts with 1 check and I never would have thought that they were not going to apply it to the other account I owed. It just didnt make sense to me? The company in which I cant name here, was just trying to pull a fast one on me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt by supplying all the paperwork that I had from e-mails to faxes that they had just ignored. Dates, times and persons whom I had spoken to. They would just tell me the same thing, that it just hadnt been updated to call back in a couple of days. Their system was new and it was just a glitch. I had this one particular account for almost 20 years and now they just wanted me to take my losses and turn away. No I was not going to let them win without a fight. Thats exactly what I did when I easily opened up the B.B.B. web page and filled out the information with ease and within no time that Company was calling me to re-establish that account. I am truly and will always be thankful for the Better Business Bureau that they listened to me just a plain old person, no title, no degree just a hard working individual and they came to defend what was right. Its hard to trust anyone now a days but believe me when I say the BBB is here for the little people, so were not being taken advantage of, I can honestly say that without hesitation.

They do not vet the sub contractors used by the companies they accredited. Not cool at all. Our renovation has turned into a massive nightmare now with attorneys, insurance people involved. The contractor had a A+ rating with all of the workers being horrible sub contractors. Ugh… don’t trust the bbb apparently. Lesson learned.

These guys are the best!!! After Accurate Engines would not answer my phone calls and had thousands of my dollars that they owed me, I thought I would try the Michigan BBB, expecting to get the usual run-around. They took the bull by the horns, wrestled it to the ground and got my money back. Thank God these guys exist, or I would have been tied up in the courts forever trying to get my money back. BTW, do NOT use Accurate Engines for anything!!!! They are a rip-off. If you dont believe me, check them out on YELP and other sites. I only went with them, as they were recommended by a friend. HUGE mistake!!!

The BBb is friendly they closed my complaint just because York Creek apartments did not answer the message, after signing a contract with that company land & corporation (Yorkcreek) we lost money and all our personal things after finding cockroaches on the second day of moving, besides chemicals, to ward off the cockroaches traps etc. .. Nobody wants and can help us, we have already been everywhere! I have a 5-year-old son and I have health problems and nobody cares about that special my 5-year-old baby!

I had a problem with a booking agency and a hotel that would not respond to my complaint. When I made my complaint to the BBB I got an immediate response from the booking company and they contacted the hotel and I got a refund that day, just a few days after I made my complaint. I tell others to stop beating a dead horse and contact the BBB if they want someone to stand behind them and get action on the matter.

I had issues with a recently purchased washer and dryer and attempted to contact the manufacturer numerous times. After several weeks with no resolution or response from the manufacturer I entered a complaint through the BBB. I received a response from the manufacturers executive office within 48 hours and the contact worked with me to resolve my issues. The BBBs involvement resulted in immediate attention to my issues! BBB was very responsive and attentive to my issues with this manufacturer and I recommend the BBB to others facing similar issues where a business is not being attentive to consumer needs!

I have used the BBB three times over the years. Issues I had I could not resolve on my own. Once I contacted the BBB I got a quick and very helpful response from the vendor or mfg. In all issues I was completely satisfied with the results. I could of not had the same resolve by my self.

I submitted a claim to the Western Michigan BBB, not really expecting anything to happen, since it was for a very small amount of money. To my surprise, the business I was having problems with contacted me immediately to follow up and rectify the situation, thanks to the actions of the BBB! The BBB contacted me afterwards to make sure my case was resolved. Very, very pleased!

I have used the BBB several times over the years and have always received excellent results. In most cases I use the BBB when an issue arises that can not be solved by the people and the customer service level. People at this level often lack the authority, resources and experience necessary to resolve more complex problems. The BBB elevates the issue to a more senior management level where the resources needed to solve the problem exist.I have been completely satisfied every time I have used BBB. I highly recommend it to all.

BBB is a life savor for us in the past 10+ years. It is always there when we needed to resolve a complex situation with the big corporation and companies and have nowhere to go. They step in, hear your complaints, act very professionally with the corporation on your behalf and 99% of the time get a positive outcome as a result. They set the reminder for companies to reply and provide upto date status until the issue gets resolved.

I was having problems with a product I purchased and the company would not honor their warranty or respond and follow-up as promised. After getting the BBB involved they responded immediately and replaced the defective product. The BBB gets results. No company likes to have their poor performance posted on line. The BBB is a fantastic resource for the consumer and I highly recommend taking advantage of it.

Recently needed assistance with a merchant who changed the terms of our rental agreement and I sought the help of the local BBB. While you may never talk directly to someone who works in the offices can be assured that their system is effective in getting the attention of merchants. Its simple with the BBB, you stick to the facts, adhere to the requirements and be patient and allow them to work with a merchant. In this particular case, I was able to get back the monies I was overcharged and hold the merchant accountable to their actions. Was the merchant happy about my choice to question their tactics? Not at all and they made that clear on the phone with me and could hear the inflection in their tones being condescending. End of the day, merchants work for you and BBB is a helping hand to ensure there is some balance in assisting consumers through a murky and broken social system we have. Remember, these companies work for you and your money, not the other way around and the BBB holds them to those standards. In the 10 plus years I have used their services there has been a return of over $3,000 back to me; including one mediation in person. I get it not everyone has a positive experience but you have to be willing to follow the process and have some faith. Not everything works out but itll never work if you dont reach out and ask for help from an organization like the BBB. Whose on the front lines to ensure accountability and fairness.

I bought a new refridgerator that lasted 90 days. Whirlpool would not replace it for me, because they said it could be fixed. Weeks went by, numerous phone calls, etc. no progress. I signed a contract and paid a sizable amount to The Newton Group to end my two timeshares. After a year the timeshares were not ended and I used the BBB to submit my complaint. The BBB was instrumental in contacting The Newton Group and I was very pleased that Newton contacted me and we were able to work out an acceptable agreement to both parties.

Bureaucracy at its best -- I had repeatedly tried to solve a problem with a local business and couldnt even get a response. As soon as the BBB name was behind a complaint, I heard from the office manager and the problem was resolved. Very grateful. I believe they spared me a lot of hassle.

Cardinal Remodeling in Kentwood, Michigan did an outstanding job at installing a egress window and drainage system. They provided many options and within 2 weeks of initial inquiry started the project. Their personnel were on time, courteous and very professional. They left nothing to chance and maintained the highest quality workmanship in completing the project on time. They made on site suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of the system without changing the original price. I would recommend Cardinal Remodeling without hesitation.

I had an excellent experience with this BBB outfit. I had a problem with a dryer that I couldnt get the company to address. A low level person wouldnt let me talk to anyone at a higher level. I filled out a complaint with the BBB, and it got fixed in short order, to my complete satisfaction. The manufacturer was great to work with once I got to a person with the authority to go past the rules on repairs.

10 weeks a dealing with the Grand Rapids press trying to obtain a refund on my own wasnt working. I heard things like the check is in the mail (twice), we will escalate your claim and lastly the check printing machine was broken for 2 weeks. After contacting the BBB I had my refund in 2 weeks. The Press did take one final shot by shorting the refund by $.50. Thanks to the BBB for all the help.

We were having a nightmare of a time getting a local roofing company to complete the installation of asphalt shingles on our home. It had been 4 months since the job started and despite numerous calls they were not responding. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau hoping that it would make this Roofing Company stop putting us off and finally complete the job. Two days later we got a call from the roofing company saying they would send someone to finish the job. A week later it was finally finished. The Better Business Bureau gets results because consumers and businesses know they are a reliable source for business ratings and references. We highly recommend that both consumers and businesses utilize BBB services.

I purchased over the internet a fairly expensive duplicated perfume scent that was a vintage scent and no longer being produced. The package arrived and the scent was no where near the original and actually smelled harmful. After contacting the company (of which I got not response because I had to speak to an answering machine) I contacted both PayPal and my credit card company and neither could help me or guarantee a refund because of the type of purchase. After filing a complaint with the BBB, I got an almost immediate response from them saying that they will contact the company for me and I will have an answer in a couple short weeks. The company responded and my refund was back on my credit card and cleared about two weeks later. BBB got my purchase price returned and also the shipping. BBB is a most helpful friendly establishment to deal with. Highly recommended!

I contacted the BBB re: Inspiringclothingcom. In Jan ‘20 I learned of Inspiringclothing from a FB post. I was excited by their Mission Statement (Donating proceeds to suicide prevention) and Excited about the message on the sweatshirts/tshirts. I ordered several items. Shipping estimate was 3 wks. By March, I heard nothing (though they were paid in Jan). No ph# avail so I emailed with no response. I was contacted by 2 employees stating my items will arrive but months from then. They also informed me that $0 is donated to suicide prevention. I contacted BBB. BBB was on it! They sent Inspiring clothing a certified letter allowing them until a certain date to respond or ship my items. 2 days prior to the deadline my Items were shipped. I like the items however did not like the lies re: mission statement. BBB is handling the false Mission Statement. This was my first experience with BBB and it was perfect! I always thought the BBB only handled big cases, not true. They help everyone!

Excellent Service by BBB with my complaint in regards to Ayers Basement. I wished I had reviewed here @ BBB before I agreed to Ayers for a service. BBB assisted me with a refund for a work permit not required ( I only discovered this when they could not produce a work permit for my records) for a maintenance project (you should check with your county clerk) to know if one is needed to start with or Ayers will automatically charge you for one needed or not. It took BBB to assist me in recouping a refund for that and for 4 of steel beam they didnt use, but charged me for.

The better business bureau hides reviews of companies if you also file a complaint. So when you use their site to see how a business is, keep in mind that the worst reviews that lead to complaints being filed are hidden. I guess this is a way to protect the businesses who pay the BBB for their services.By their response, at least they admit it is their national policy to hide the worst reviews. If you cant trust their site to show you ALL reviews, what good are they? The main thing consumers rely on the BBB for is a lie.

Businesses that rely on the bbbs and yelps of the world may find this organization as useful as it is toxic. I know, as a home builder, that despite near crippling regulation and costs of lisensure, these organizations add or detract to reputation for money. They will provide venue to ANYONE who makes a complaint about anyone and, for a price, the complaint can go away. They are pro consumer only when the business refuses to cooperate and pay the bbb annual fee.As a business person, i recommend any serious business person consider a good lawyer before they consider membership with any BBB. If you want someone to tell you your business is A+ for $500 a year, fine. Otherwise try to walk an honest path best u can without their “help”.

The Better Business Bureau Organization is expressly racketeering & extorting small businesses is unconstitutional. Under Right to Due Process, Civil Rights, Title 18, Executive Order 11625, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act of 1996 , most importantly under the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002.The company I manage only had 7 complaints to the BBB since we were established in 2007, thats less that 1 complaint a year. We did respond and did prove that the complaints were false & never correctedToday the director Terry Glen one sided phone conversation verified that since we didnt join for $475.00 dollars first & respond to them we are found guilty and given a F-rating and whatever lies & allegationsare automatically true & posted on their websites negatively until we respond. We will never join the BBB racketeering scam.This is extortion scam by a non-judicial governmental party falsely & unfairly acting as judge & jury racketeering tactics must end!We do not live in a perfect world complaints happen in business sometimes but we ussually straighten them out. We have the right not to be forced into answering to anyone that doesnt issue any of our certifications or licenses. They are in violation of our Civil Rights as well by not even having an intake form nor validated no verified information about our company ever been on file is legally hearsay.This is America we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, respect our brand or get sued for slander, they claim governmental qualified privilege is a lie & discriminatory one sided abusive behavior is always reporting invalidated allegations negatively on businesses without their permission nor proper evidencial compliance.Thats why we wont be forced to respond to any unfounded non truthful allegations & they now changed their policy to disclose information may not be true is attempt to cover up racism & discriminatory racketeering under the Ricco Act as well.This better Business bureau also has a extremely low rating & negative reviews on consumer affairs reporting agency and multiple similar reporting fact checking websites. With a reputation of bullying small businesses for donations should violate their 501(c)(3) in our complaint we filed with the IRS in our company against them.

They closed my complaint before I had a chance to respond and have ignored the details of my issue.I contacted the BBB about this and was given no help. BBB has been making SPAM calls to the place I work. They piss me off..Did you know the BBB has had investigations into their extortion of small businesses? Look it up.Did you know you can PAY for an A+ Rating - to cover up your bad business practices?? You can!Attached is an example of a local search that took me all of 2 minutes to find. Notice how ALL the ratings are Negative? See how theyre rated A+!? HOW THE HECK can a business with all bad reviews score an A+?? Because they pay the BBB to give them that rating...Modern day mobsters at work. BBB has become mainly focused on collecting money and not helping businesses imo . They have become very over priced poorly run , last people I spoke with , seems they have a very big head on their shoulders. Didnt even have us listed under the correct category. bbb is a waste of money , even bad contractors get A+ ratings if they pay enough. Dont take much account in bbb ratings , I would look more at real references, how many years a business has been in business and support local small businesses to you location when possible
