I am very happy with the service and support I received at Glenview Computerland. My laptop was plugged in charging when I briefly lost power. The next morning when I attempted to boot up my laptop, the power light came on for about 10 seconds, then went out. I assume the brief loss of power was the result of a power surge which my laptop absorbed. I was afraid the motherboard had been fried. I brought my laptop to Glenview Computerland. They told me they would diagnose it in 24-48 hours and let me know the results. I received a call back in the time window they stated. They told me the BIOS needed to be reset and the price was very reasonable, a lot less than I was fearing had the motherboard been fried. They called me back later that day after they had successfully performed the reset. I picked up my laptop and all is well. I was very satisfied with the friendly service I received and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. (I have also since purchased a portable surge protector!)

I used their services for transferring data from an old none functioning computer to a portable drive. While Best Buy geek squad could not do the work, the technician here could do the work within two days. People are very professional and courteous. I strongly recommend their services over Best Buy geek squad or Apple genius bar. The price for the repair services are fraction of that you pay at Apple or Best Buy services. But the quality is superior than that of the services from.the name-brand stores.

Stephan had to personally take over on a repair the downtown office said would need a replacement motherboard. Turns out, no replacement was necessary. Not surprising given that it was only in for a bad waterpump. Stephan straightened it out and gave it back with all repairs I had requested. I recently had my Macbook Mini computers serviced by Stefan at Computerland. Stefan is a straight ahead guy who is honest and his fees are quite reasonable. One of the computers was not repairable due to the fact that I broke the fan connector. There were multiple issues with the hard drive of the second computer. Stefan was diligent and patient because there multiple issues with the hard drive and the hard drive connector which required that he find a hard drive that would pass diagnostic tests combined with a hard drive totally functional connection cord. The final result is that the Mac Mini is now working properly without shutting down or turning on randomly. I am happy to recommend Stefan and Computerland.

Im thrilled with the service from Glenview ComputerLand on Waukegan Road. My HP desktop needed a new power supply unit, and research had already told me that the cheapest I could find one anywhere was in the $60-70 range. Geek Squad wouldnt even look at it for more than 2 weeks. I decided the installation was risky to do myself, so I took it to Glenview ComputerLand and within a week had it back with a new power unit and complete inside cleaning for $110. A computer that had become so loud we could hear it in the next room is now running completely silently. I have found my computer repair shop!

I wanted to upgrade my older HP desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and was hoping to avoid having to purchase a whole new computer. After being told from other places that it might not be worth it and I would be better off buying a new one, Stefan told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it. The technician replaced the power jack on my laptop. The technician walked me through the process, timeline, and costs when I dropped my laptop off, and he delivered exactly as promised. I am teacher and need my computer to prepare for my (online) class starting next week. I mentioned this to the technician to get a sense of how long the repair would take. Rather than exploiting my panic to encourage me to pay for a rush job, or to add unnecessary elements to the repair, the technician chose to be honest, and just did the work.

I build my own computers. I am a programmer but not a hardware expert. These guys are! Whenever I build my own PCs, I am very cautious about the CPU and thermal paste because like motor oil, too much is just as bad as not enough. My CPU started running hot but not too hot to melt the motherboard. I will never remove and replace thermal paste on my own as I know that can end up with a motherboard meltdown if I screw it up! I took it to them and they could not find a problem which tells me they are honest! Then 3 weeks later it really started heating up so I called them again. They replaced the liquid cooling with a fan. Now my custom PC runs better than ever! Do go to these guys as they are honest and reasonable on pricing! I may build my own PCs which is easier than you think, but for diagnosing and fixing hardware problems (which is a skill beyond my abilities) , these guys are top notch!

I took my computer to Stephan because, as always, it was an emergency. My computer would simply not stay turned on. I couldnt use it at all. I brought my Macbook Pro laptop to ComputerLand of Glenview after Apple store quoted me $750 to have it repaired after Ive spilled some coffee on the keyboard. Their original estimate was $290 + tax, but at the end, they said that the repair took less time that was expected and my total, in the end, was 250$ + tax.I especially liked that they did their best to reduce the cost for me, and they answered my questions in a clear non-technical manner.Overall, I strongly recommend them, for the quality, cost, and speed of the service.

I just want to say that I have never received better customer service in any technical capacity. They were quick, professional and thorough. I had an old ASUS notebook that kept blacking out on me and I didnt know what the problem was. I dropped it off to ComputerLand, and they listened to my tale of woe and wrote everything down and told me they would call me in forty-eight hours with a diagnosis and a quote. And they did call me, as promised, on the dot. They said it was the monitor and they quoted me a very reasonable price. They told me the work would take about four business days. Then, they called me four days later and said that they received and installed the monitor, and at first everything seemed OK, but then the computer went on the fritz again. So, they did more diagnostic testing, and discovered it was the motherboard.They said they would not charge me for the new monitor. They then offered to replace the motherboard, or they could give me a refurbished computer for half the price and just transfer all my data. I chose the latter option and lo and behold! The refurbished computer is MUCH faster and better than my old notebook. I am really very happy and grateful to them. They took extra time and care to fully understand the problem and they also gave me options. Also, whenever I call them, Alex himself answers the phone. That means a lot to me- a personal touch. These guys know their stuff, and they care. Choose them.

First off, this place is possibly if not the best computer repair shop ive been to. I accidentally dumped a large amount of liquid on my gaming laptop, and i thought it was dead for sure. Stefan is a genius. One of our iPhones, an iPhone 6, completely stopped working. And to make matters worse, it was not backed up. Everything was allegedly lost. We took it to Abt and to the Apple Store and we were told by BOTH places that there is NOTHING they can do. They couldn’t even power it up. Now if 2 different technicians at 2 different stores give the same diagnosis, then it must be true, right? WRONG! We took the phone to ComputerLand in Glenview on Waukegan Rd and in less than 3 minutes the phone was powered up. And even better, Stefan backed the entire phone up to his laptop until we got home and did it ourselves. We’re still going to buy new iPhones and now back them up regularly, but when all hope was lost, Stefan and ComputerLand saved the day!

The hard drive on my laptop died. I had a new solid state hard drive installed but the big national store that did so could not retrieve the data after multiple attempts by their team. I had to have the data - not just years of critical documents, but thousands of pictures of family, trips, etc. I was told that the hard drive needed to sent out at a cost of $500-$1600!! Unbelievable! I took it to ComputerLand - Stefan said that he was more than confident that he could retrieve the data. He also said that in the off-chance that he couldnt there would be no cost! Great to see that ethical service is not totally gone these days. Bottom-line is that he retrieved the data that the big store could not at a fraction of the cost.
