He has been my dentist for a while now and I absolutely love going there. From the wonderfully delightful Sherri from the front desk to the joyful and funny Dr. Shin, they set such a comfortable and easy-going atmosphere that i do not ever have any anxiety when there. Dr. Shin explains everything with clarity and with such knowledge I trust him at his every word and his dental work speaks for itself. Hes a consummate professional while also being a pleasure to talk to.

Really nice experience. I got an initial cleaning and then one filling so far and I am very impressed. Dr. Shin is very personable and funny while being very informative and direct. I really appreciated him and his team. Could not recommend more!

I rarely write reviews but I am blown away by Dr. Shin’s practice - I unfortunately fell on ice and cracked my front tooth 10 years ago. I ended up needing a crown and I was mortified since it was my front tooth. Dr. Shin, Karen and Sharon were so reassuring and made me feel like I was in good hands. I just got my permanent crown placed this morning and you can’t even tell. The shade match is impeccable and Dr. Shin’s work is beautiful. Such an amazing team, I can’t thank them enough!!!

I couldnt be happier with the treatment I have received from Dr. Shin and his wonderful staff. I had not been to a dentist in quite some time after some bad experiences but from day one they made me feel comfortable. My teeth were in bad shape but after a couple of appointments, they are starting to look so much better. My wife and I have been going to see Dr. Shin since we lived in Oak Park and he was with a practice there. After moving to Wheaton in 2013 we sad to have to switch to a different practice out here. We were very happy to learn a few years ago that Dr. Shin had moved out here and started his own practice, and have been going to Dental Care of Glen Ellyn for all our dental needs ever since.Dr. Shin is great--personable, professional, and thorough. I dreaded going to the dentist when we were going to a different practice that still used film x-rays that nearly gagged me to death every time I had to have them done. No such issues with Dr. Shin. His office is up to date and uses all the most modern equipment, including all the COVID protections. 100% recommended.

They have friendly staff, do a very thorough job cleaning and teach you what you can do to keep your teeth clean. There smile club dental plan is pretty reasonable as well.

Dr. Shin is a wonderful, caring dentist! I was hesitant about going to the dentist since I have not gone in years. He was extremely kind and constantly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. He also told me what to expect and talked me through what he was doing at each step. When I came back to get my cavities filled, he called a few days later to follow up. I will definitely continue to go to him.

Dr. Shin and his team are amazing. First, and most important, I always feel comfortable and trust that I will be cared for in a pain-free way! I used to be afraid of going to the dentist for many years, and now I have no concerns at all about coming in. Dr. Shin and staff is upbeat, fun, and funny--an added bonus, sometimes laughing at the dentist!Dr. Shin uses a careful application and waits until the novocaine takes effect. By the time he gets started, I dont feel a thing. Ive had several procedures including crowns and root-canals, always comfortable and, again, pain-free. Our kids are all teenaged or older, so we all go to see Dr. Shin. Prompt, professional and friendly. I visited Dr.Shin during Covid-19 and was really impressed at their meticulous protocol and care to keep me safe. Everyone involved in my care was excellent from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to of course the dentist! Everything was efficient and comprehensive and I was kept in the loop every step of the way. Both my 3 and 6 year old also had their exams and it was the easiest yet! Staff were great keeping them engaged and making visiting the dentist a positive experience. They literally couldn’t wait to brush their teeth with their new toothbrushes as soon as we got home.

Our family had an excellent experience with Dr. Shin and his staff.When I called to schedule appointments with each of our 5 family members, Sharon was friendly, polite and knowledgeable. She understood our coverage and she was patient and mindful in providing us with options for appointment times that would be most convenient for us.Each of our appointments started right on schedule. Dr. Shin and his assistant were thorough and they make it a point to educate each of us following our exams. He provides high resolution detailed imaging on flat screen TV’s. More significantly, he explains things in layman’s terms.On another note, he is great with kids (4, 9 and 11). He shared techniques with them for brushing their teeth and flossing more effectively.We enthusiastically recommend Dr. Shin!

Dr. Shin, Sharon, and Arisha made my visit so easy and painless. From the minute I set up my appointment to arriving and having my procedure done, I was so impressed by the kind and professional service! Out of all of the dental work I have had done, this was also the most pain-free. I could barely feel the numbing process/needle, which is usually the worst part of a dental procedure! Dr. Shin has been my dentist for over 10 years and I’m so happy to have found him. Prior to, I didn’t have the best luck with dentists. He does amazing work. Gives his honest feedback and takes the time answer any questions I may have (I’m very particular about my teeth). What a pleasure it as been to be his patient. I currently reside in Aurora and making the 45 min drive to Glen Ellyn is not up for discussion. IT’S A MUST! His staff is also amazing! Always very polite and kind.

I have a fear of the dentist and after a few bad experiences, I just stopped going to the dentist for almost 7 years. Finally, I decided to find a new dentist and try again. I found Dr. Shins office to be located conveniently in downtown Glen Ellyn. His office is clean and calm and his staff is really welcoming and very friendly. I was instantly put at ease. Dr. Shin was reassuring and friendly, never once making me feel bad for having missed so many visits. While I still don’t look forward to going to the dentist, I know after visiting Dr. Shin’s office I won’t wait 7 years to go back. I’ve already scheduled my next exam!

Sharon at the front desk was great - she greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome. Im a new patient and getting my records from my prior provider and setting up my insurance information was seamless thanks to Sharon. Dr. Shin was very detailed in his explanation with my dental health which I highly appreciate. He provided me the best cost vs benefit breakdown about getting a possible crown or just a filling. I got a filling and feeling that I found a practice thats not always going to be providing me only the pricier options.

I have always had a very serious fear of going to the dentist. Recently I have had to overcome my fear and see a dentist because of teeth issues. Dr. Shin is absolutely amazing! I have seen him twice in the last 4 months, for tooth extractions, and both visits have been great. I consider myself to be a difficult patient, due to my fear & anxiety. Dr. Shin was so patient with me and never made me feel like I was a nuisance. He takes his time to explain everything and is very gentle. I did not feel the shots of novacaine or the actual extraction. I started seeing Dr. Shin after my other dentist semi-retired. After trying a few other dentists in the area, I am so glad I found Dental Care of Glen Ellyn. Dr. Shin filled a tooth for me that was worn down from grinding and removed an older mercury filling of mine that was deteriorating. I felt no pain during the procedure and I felt great a couple hours after the Novocaine wore off. I am usually sensitive to dental procedures and sometimes react poorly to anesthetic of any kind. Dr. Shin put me at ease and I had no bad reactions to the anesthesia. I like how Dr. Shin explains everything to you while he is working on you and shows you the finished result with photos of your mouth. It definitely helps calm you and makes you feel like a partner in the process.
