We had our wedding here in May and everyone was so wonderful and helpful, especially Deanne and Racquel! We also stayed here for our wedding weekend and the room is beautiful! The bathtub was huge and it has jets so we had a very relaxing bubble bath. We had a view of the river from our balcony. The service and food were outstanding! I highly recommend the Herrington Inn and Spa as a wedding venue and as a nice hotel to stay in! We definitely would love to stay here again.

My Husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here over the weekend! Its in the perfect spot, a short walk to food, drinks, desserts, shopping!They surprised us with a nice card wishing us a Happy Anniversary, and chocolate covered strawberries!We had a couples massage at the Spa that was hands down the best Ive ever had!We had a main floor room right on the river, it was beautiful!We hope to go there again soon!!!

When you work at a wedding as a photographer your day is easily 12h long. You start at 11ish and get done around 9pm. Of course no time to stop and eat anywhere because you’re always on the clock. At the end of the day/beginning of the night you sit down to eat.In 10 years working at weddings, just the third time I got a sandwich as “dinner” from a wedding reception venue. Well done, Herrington & Spa.

My partner and I chose the Herrington for our wedding night and it did not disappoint! Room was phenomenal, stayed in a river premier suite with an excellent little patio and view of the river. Extremely comfy king sized bed. Only reason I cant give 5 stars is I was over charged for a supposed complimentary upgrade and it was money I didnt have to spare at the time.

A great venue for a wedding. Lovely outdoor patio for dancing and cocktail hour. The staff was also very kind and helpful. Oh, and the food was delectable. My favorite part was the intermezzo. They give you sherbert to cleanse the pallet.

This gem along the Fox River offers a beautiful Intown romantic getaway. The amenities are fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and unique. They are well within walking distance many fine restaurants and shops.

Everything from the staff, room, view etc was perfect. Great people to deal with all around but if none of this was true it would have been worth it just to sleep in that bed again. Best rest ever!

Beautiful views of river. Restaurant was fabulous. Housekeeping forgot to clean our room second night and floor above us was noisy. Bed and pillows very comfy. Room chairs not so much. Loved heated floor tiles in bathroom.

13 year Aniversary was spent at the Herrington .... great rooms,staff, and site... walking distance to many restaurants, shops,bars... visit 3rd street while staying there... Highly recommended for a romantic evening or weekend getaway...

I called in to book a surprise getaway for a close friend of ours. Herrington Inn wouldnt let me book anything for my friend. The agent on the phone was very unprofessional and her service was pretty poor especially when you expect a place like this to have the best.

Used to be one of my favorite get away spots, seem to be using Covid as an excuse not to provide any services vs being innovative on how to provide the same level of service given the circumstances.For instance, glass bottles of ice cold milk in an ice bucket and warm chocolate chip cookies used to be in the room with the turn down service. Now, instead of delivering to the door, a guest needs to go to the front desk to get a pint of milk and a room temperature cookie...Recently had a reservation for 3 in an elite room, they tried to down grade me upon arrival. After insisting on the proper room, only had two bath towels, etc. Just not what it once was....

The staff was great. The room was spotless. I would stay here again for sure.

The hotel was very nice. Fireplace, 4 post comfortable bed, amazing view of Fox River, bathtub was perfect. Things I think they could work on, access to water to d drink, I know Covid has removed most water containers but bottled water would have been a nice solution. The shower left much to be desired, weak pressure and didnt get hot, hot. Still a 5 star experience.

Beautiful place. Wonderful view and I love the top notch appliances. Would definitely recommend this just to feel like a mini vacation in itself.

The Junior River Suite was spacious and had the most comfortable bed ever. We had amazing views of the river and garden. Staff was really friendly and congratulated us on our wedding several times. Our only complaint was we had to walk through the bar prep area to get to our room, an area that was always busy. Atwater’s is the restaurant that is inside the hotel. We were disappointed with the very limited continental breakfast and when we ordered room service the food was too bland even for my husband who doesn’t even use salt and pepper very often. We ordered an omelet and huevos rancheros

We had a lovely time in our cozy room with the fireplace and a whirlpool bath. Breakfast was delightful in the restaurant. Robes and slippers were a nice luxury.

Absolutely amazing hotel, restaurant, and spa!!! We took a weekend getaway here from Chicago and it was spectacular. Nestled right up alongside the Fox River, the hotel has a very quaint yet sophisticated feel. The ceiling in the room was very tall making it feel enormous. We loved having the gas fireplace in the room to cuddle up in front of. We had lovely and delicious (and strong!) cocktails at the bar before dinner, and a stellar meal in Atwaters Restaurant! Moreover, the staff were professional, helpful, and safe in these trying (COVID) times. We felt very well taken care of! We are already planning a return to this amazing place! This is hand down the best place I have ever stayed. The food was incredible, and the service was above and beyond. The rooms were clean, comfortable and we loved the fire place. You have bath robes and slippers and an amazing bath tub and shower to sit back and relax. The spa was incredible and we were able to book appointments at the last minute which was very helpful. The breakfast was light, but this is mainly because of the pandemic and the restrictions. We thought the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room service was quick. The place was not very busy which made us feel very safe. There were masks required for both staff and guests, and there is a beautiful courtyard with a private gazebo that you can reserve. The views of the river were magical, and there were so many places nearby to walk to for all your needs. A nature walk along the river with parks and benches, or a stroll up the road to nearby local stores and restaurants. Check in and out was very easy, and parking was available and free. I think my favorite part was the spa services offered and the delicious food we ordered from room service. There are so many perks to this gem, and I hope you get to enjoy them to the fullest once this pandemic is over. In the meantime, if you are in need of a place to rest your head, and safely order an amazing meal in a comfortable room with all the amenities you need and more- well, then you have just found the perfect place for you. I would not suggest this for a place if you are traveling with small children, but the space is accessible if you need it.

The service was amazing and the food(although overpriced) tasted great without a long wait time. The massages were also stellar. Ill definitely be coming back up here for future celebrations.

This little gem is a family favorite! My husband and I have celebrated special occasions here for many years! I love to give gift certificates to this lovely getaway spot to my children and they live receiving them! The food and amenities are top notch!

Other than food in our fridge from previous people, the stay was nice. I loved having the porch right on the river.

This reminds me of a castle. It is dim and cozy. The staff are all so calm and ready to simply provide you with great service. The rooms are nice, especially one that overlook the river and have a fireplace. Parking is ample and the artwork is so fun. Spa service is totally cool. They provide the Skinceutical line. I want to go again and again.

I had the opportunity to tour Herrington Inn in Geneva IL this past Fall and it is stunning! Had a wonderful time at The Herrington Inn, staff took extra precautions to keep their guests safe in this horrible pandemic. While quite a few things were different - the level of attention to details was outstanding. 5 star rating for sure. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a stay at here.

Great place for brunch.. great service

Hospitality and daily cleaning services are gone. We had to clean our own room for a 6 night stay. Breakfast was horrid. But prices were still high without the amenities to go with it.

My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for a romantic night away from our newborn- while this inn is a little pricey, it is worth EVERY penny! The staff blew me away. I called and requested early check-in, and while they are usually busy, they accommodated us and gave me a call to let me know. The room we had was a courtyard view but with views of the river as well- breathtaking! My husband and I enjoyed the sunset in bed with the fireplace going and the door wide open while listening to the water from the fox river. Truly magical. Don’t forget to eat the Brussels sprouts- OH MY GOODNESS they’re heavenly!! My husband gobbled them up and he doesn’t even like Brussels sprouts! A++++ just go. Don’t even think twice. One night here was enough to invigorate my soul.

Quit stay! Town of Geneva 5 star hotel.. herrington 3 star its over priced for 400.00 a night there is better. Shop around.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The ambience was beautiful and our room was stunning. We had a great balcony view on the river! Such a unique and memorable place to stay.

We went for two nights for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy. The European style design throughout the hotel blew me away. The river premier room was very romantic and private for during our anniversary. They even sent chocolate strawberries and cookies after an unbelievable dinner at their restaurant. I would definitely visit here again and try the spa for a couples massage. My only complaint is that the mini fridge was not working had to get tons of ice to keep our drinks cold.

Its an absolutely beautiful property. It was clean, quiet and well maintained. This was my first stay and Im already looking forward to my next stay. I live Aurora and I really felt like I had left town. We chose rooms facing the river and so glad we did. I highly recommend.

The staff at the Herrington Inn is truly excellent. Rose, Deanna, Lisa, and team do an excellent job facilitating our corporate training sessions. In addition to the very attentive and friendly staff, the quality of the conference room, the guests rooms, food, and drinks are top notch. The setting in downtown Geneva, on the Fox River, and within walking distance to so many great nearby restaurants and bars before and after training hours only adds to the experience.

Great hotel. Fireplace, high ceilings, view from the balcony is amazing. But jacuzzi didn’t work and one morning we didn’t have hot water but they fixed it quickly.

Great place to stay. The manager, Jesse, goes above and beyond to make sure your accommodations are perfect. This is our second time staying here for our anniversary and I could see making a tradition out of it.

We celebrated our one year anniversary here and we were sooo happy with our experience. The rooms were nice and clean. The property is gorgeous! The service was wonderful. We didn’t know what to expect during these Covid times but we felt very safe the entire time. I can’t say enough good things about the Herrington Inn. We plan on coming here every year for our anniversary!

Amazing experience at the spa! I got the 60min with hot stones. It was the best massage I have ever had and I honestly dont know if I will ever be able to have a massage anywhere else again. I appreciated everything about the experience and will be back.

Loved it! We stayed here for our 2 night honeymoon. It is a quiet, unique inn that is geared more towards a couples getaway. We enjoyed spending time in the lobby bar. Even with COVID measures (i.e. the cookies and milk werent delivered to your room- you had to pick them up at the front desk, or the couples massage room wasnt available), we still really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

Excellent food/service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is a little welcome package for pets. There is a courtyard for your pets to roam, but they must be on a leash. It would have been nice to have that area gated on one side so we could let him roam on his own as he is used to that at home. Other than that, I will definitely be back!

We had an incredible birthday brunch event around the holidays for a party of 50 people. We had the whole room to ourselves and the view was stunning. The staff was super accommodating and Racquel was the best to work with. Highly recommend.

The experience my wife n I had was magical, especially that it was our anniversary.....

I understand with COVID and the crazy times we are in, but for the price it was unacceptable. They didnt offer any room service, bed turn down, roses petals, etc. The area itself is worth the hike and bike ride but it was my wifes birthday and I was expecting so much more from reviews. I wont be coming back, sorry.

The Herrington is special to our family! We love having dinner here and anytime we have been able to stay, we have felt like we were treated like royalty. Such a quaint place!

A little gem in Geneva. Lovely views of the Fox River from the balcony, Canopy beds, fireplaces, fabulous whirlpool tub. Turn down service with milk and cookies. Their breakfast buffet is free and has lots of tasty pastries, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, an assortment of teas and great coffee. Romantic for anniversaries and Valentines Day.

Beautiful inn in a quaint, charming small town. My wife was never a big fan of the state of Illinois, but the Herrington Inn & Spa and the town of Geneva changed her mind! Incredibly relaxing, and the cookies and milk at night were a superb touch. The restaurant at the inn was great, and there are tons of other great restaurants as well a a great river stroll within walking distance. The staff were amazing. We will most definitely be back!

If I could give it a zero, then I would. Walls are thinner than paper! Spent a lot of money for a romantic night. Had a corner room yet even late night talking was greeted by hotel security to “keep it down”. I’ve been to plenty of better hotels and no issues. Staff was very rude and came several times that night for just talking at reasonable levels. Even turning the tv on at a normal volume was greeted by a knock on the door. I’ll NEVER stay here again! What was supposed to be a memorable night, was definitely memorable but for the wrong reason. DON’T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ONLY PLAN ON SLEEPING! NO TALKING ALLOWED!!!!! WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!👎👎👎👎😡

It was a super clean very romantic place, the staff was super great. The manager was even giving the staff in the restaurant a hand by serving water ( amazing). We will be back there. This place really rock.

It is expensive, but the building is beautiful and so are the views. Service here is awesome and they give you milk and cookies at turn down service. Our King had a gas fireplace and a spa. Room was spacious with high ceilings. Only potential concern is that there are a lot of small sets of steps and so doesnt seem to be the most handicap friendly.

We were given this vacation as a Christmas gift. When it was booked, it was booked on the hotel’s website in the package section. We went to the Girls Getaway package and clicked book now. The reservation was made via the package link. When we received the confirmation, we called to confirm that we had the correct package and that we could use the credit card that the room was reserved under. All was confirmed. The day of the getaway comes and we drove 12 hrs in a snow storm & were given a horrible reception by an incredibly rude check in girl. None of what we booked or had been told was correct and were given a “not my problem, take it or leave it” attitude. We were then given the worst room in the hotel, next to the bar, on a Friday night. They did move us, but acted like they were giving us the moon and the stars for doing so. I would not recommend this place to anyone! There were so many places that we could have chosen to spend our vacation and I completely wish that we had chosen a different one!

Wow. I don’t even know how to adequately describe this jewel of an Inn. We were here for one night for a work meeting... but I could have easily moved In. The staff was absolutely flawless in customer service, every employee I encountered. The common areas are beautifully adorned and you feel like you have stepped back in time.I was in room 221... and was beyond impressed. With a four post king bed and rich wood furniture my room was gorgeous with a balcony directly overlooking the river. The bathroom was gorgeous with a big whirlpool sunken tub. They have a ‘bath menu’ and I indulged in a basket being delivered to my room that included salts, oil, scrub, etc. Comfy robes and slippers in the closet... a full mini bar and local snacks were nice extras. The best part was having cold milk and a chocolate chip cookie in my room delivered during turn down service.I absolutely loved this 24 hour experience in Geneva and at the Herrington!

Surprised my wife with a weekend getaway here for our 9th wedding anniversary. Room was wonderful as was our view from our first floor patio (river view). Would definitely come back and recommend anyone looking for a quiet romantic getaway. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Only taking one star off because we were charged for an add on that I thought I had cancelled before check in, however it was partially my fault because we did accept it when delivered without sending back. Otherwise great experience!

Always a great experience. They are very friendly and courteous. The decor could use an update however. I done think theyve redecorated in 20 years. A really enjoyable stay though.

Stayed here after my friends wedding, she recommended it to the guests, and it is a fantastic place to stay, pricey but you do get what you pay for our room had a great view and a comfortable bed, everything was very clean and very cozy like at a fancy French chalet. They had cookies and milk for us at bedtime which just added to a great night.

Stayed here for the second time this past Thursday-Friday and the experience was, again, overall really good! The hotel is beautiful, the large tubs are heavenly, milk/cookies in the evening is a nice touch, and the rooms are really spacious! Having said all that, this last stay wasnt as great as the first. As I was finishing up my bath I noticed water leaking from the ceiling. I called down to the front desk and ended up moving rooms. That was all fine and the substituted room was a nice little upgrade and even more spacious than the first. However, the bed was not only hard but kind of lumpy; like it was a little too worn out and you could feel the springs a little too much. I had a hard time falling asleep because of this and when I woke up I felt like I had been beaten up or something; my muscles felt incredible sore/uncomfortable. I also found this to be the case with the mattress the last time I stayed at the Herrington, just not as severe as this last stay. My Mom was also staying at the Herrington at the same time and noted the uncomfortable bed in her room, as well. Anyway, all in all, I really do like this hotel and will likely be back in the future, if theres a good deal on room rates; hopefully theyll have updated their mattresses and fixed the leaks by then!

Herrington was a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Geneva closed to restaurants, cafes and bars.The rooms are a great size and the bathroom is spacious.The bed was super comfy and the turn down service with cookies and milk was a nice touch.Definitely stay here again.
