The fellas at Ammerman’s did an amazing job on my 92 Yukon. Patriot headers and all new Magnaflow cats and exhaust. It purrs like a kitten at idle and growls like a lion when you step into it. Very happy with the work, price and communication!

Depends what you are looking for.If youre looking for honest , fair, awesomeness, than these are your guys. They saved my relationship with my spouse and my van .We purchased a van in Minnesota and drove it back to Boise ( 22 hrs). Its a Diesel, so I expected some noise but not the kind of jarring noise a powerful van with no muffler makes 🤣. Now I am enjoying our van AND we can have conversations without yelling at each other. I have been using Ammermans for about 4 years now, we just took my daughters car in for a pre trip inspection and as always they were great. They are honest, and trustworthy, they give me the truth about whats going on and options to fix it. If there is a problem, they take me into the bay area and show me so that I can make a decision about what to do on the fix. Some things are available at a lower price and they give a chance to decide, rather than, just charging me more and not informing me. This has happened everytime im in there for repairs. Ammermans was great to work with! I had them install a full exhaust system on my 1966 Lincoln Continental. After examining the system, they let me know that one of the nearly impossible to find exhaust manifolds was cracked, and the transmission mount and motor mounts were shot. The easy thing for an unreliable shop to do, would be to throw the system on and be done with it. Ammermans gave me the details, let me know what needed to done and how it would affect the new system if we didnt. Ended up replacing all the mounts, and both exhaust manifolds. They arent the least expensive, but given that they had to remove a 54 year old exhaust system, and I didnt, Im not complaining. The new system quieted the car down so much that I could finally hear how many cylinders weret firing when I picked it up (happy to say its purring like 5000 lb. kitten now). Thanks guys! Took my car in with a check engine light on and an OBD code of P0413, which I had been told by another shop meant my catalytic convertor had failed. They took the time to check if this was correct and something that they should be fixing and ended up telling me it wasnt! They actually advised me that in their opinion this was not the correct fault and sent me to another specialist shop for auto electrics to have another part of the exhaust system checked first. Who does that? Well apparently these guys want you happy and dont just fix things because customer said to. Absolutely awesome service........

Ive had to do multiple projects on my 78 Ford. Great place to take a vehicle. Eric is friendly, has great follow up and gets us in and out. Rory has worked on my truck multiple times with a smile and so far great work. These guys were fantastic!! We were driving cross country from upstate NY and our muffler died on us, they set us up with a new muffler and mid pipe in less than 1.5 hours and at a great price! Real nice guys, too!

What can I say about Ammermans..Lets start by saying I felt welcome from staff from the beginning to the end of the job . They listened to what I wanted with my custom exhaust for my Nissan 350z. They communicated with me on options and I got what I wanted. Very happy with the quality of job and professionalism with staff. Very happy with the service and work done by Ammermans. They installed a new converter AND resolved the underlying cause for my converter to go out in the first place for less than I was quoted at other places just to replace the converter only. The mechanic was very knowledgeable, the office gal was great, and the work was done quickly. They charged exactly what was quoted (no surprises). Quite pleased!

Over several years, Ive sent various vehicles to Ammermans for exhaust work, from classic cars to modern cars. It might cost you a bit more, but the quality in the long run is worth the price. Very knowledgeable, and expectations are always met..... If not the only, its certainly one few places I dont hesitate to leave my car for the day, and have it come back without issues. Stopped by randomly because I had a strong smell in the cab of my truck, fuel or exhaust I wasn’t sure. They stopped what they were doing, diagnosed it in minutes and had me repaired and safe for the road in about 30 min! Extremely friendly, fair price, I would definitely recommend them!

Went here today with my 98 Ford Escort. Muffler was cut by the fuel tank but the Owner made sure to check out what was going on and replaced my spark plugs but told me the head gasket was blown and not to pour money into it. He could of easily took advantage of me but ended up not charging me labour. Very nice man. Will be telling all my friends about his honesty which is rare in this industry. Forget 5 Stars, this man and his company deserve a million. Thank You.

I have a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger. I was told by a competitor in order to install a custom exhaust I would have to remove the fuel tank. I took it to Ammermans and they were able to install a 2 custom exhaust system without any problems. Job was done in a couple of hours, the car sounds great and they saved me a lot of money. Laguna Seca Raceway in CA has a 90 dB sound limit for track day cars. That is a challenge for a Shelby GT350 - even when locked into Quiet Mode. I had a solution in mind when I approached Ammermans for help. David listened to my issue and came up with an even better solution. My new Laguna Pipes consist of MagnaFlo race mufflers that can be easily attached and removed as needed. This will keep me from being booted off the track for a noise violation. The job was done well, quickly and at a reasonable price. Thx guys!Update 2/4/20: I got back from driving at Laguna Seca. While I was at the track, the Hooked on Driving and the Laguna Seca track personnel arranged to let me to make 3 solo runs past the track noise measurement booth between Turns 5 and 6 to test out my new Laguna Pipes. My adjustable exhaust was locked in the Quiet Mode which other GT350 owners report still occasionally busts the 90 dB limit. The first lap was used warming up my tires, but on laps 2 and 3, I pulled out the stops to blow by the booth in full anger. As I passed the booth, the car was on the right side of the track closest to the sound booth, full throttle, 3rd gear, 7500 RPM/85 MPH and climbing. The max reported measurement was 86.1 dB. Good Job Ammermans!

The first couple times I used their services the work was fantastic. Price fair. I was thrilled to find a local exhaust shop that I could do business with. I made an appointment for a large job, they were two weeks out. Day of the appointment I was 15 minutes late.(oops!) They cancelled the 3 hr time-slot (quoted to do the work) and said I had to reschedule. Sorry! Last time I visited. Cant treat your customers that way. I have a lot of regular exhaust work, but Ill take it up to Boise Muffler. (Which is a shame, because they are farther away from me, and the quality isnt as professional.)

I bought a really nice 2006 Toyota Camry and took it in to have them check it out. There was a HUGE hole in the rack and pinion - which was leaking a lot of fluid and would have made the steering go out on me eventually! They fixed it the next day and assured me that the rest of the car was in great shape. Now i love my car even more, thanks guys!

Ammermans is great. They quickly identified the problem and fixed it. My car is older and needed a new pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler. When I had moved here 2.5 years ago to get something else fixed another shop said that it would be over 10 times what Ammerman quoted to fix (who knows what else they were going to do besides replace the pipe). I had it patched back then, and Ammermans replaced it. It runs quiet. The staff is wonderful. We will definitely be taking all our cars here for any exhaust related work. I recommend Ammermans to anyone with exhaust problems!

Did a great job on my wrangler. Brought in my own muffler and was recommended to one of their mufflers in stock due to the cheaper cost and easier installation. Ended up returning the one I brought because I couldnt be happier with the outcome!

I approached Ammermans to get a quote for an air bag suspension assist system for my Ram 1500. Tom was incredibly forthright about advising me, although hed be pleased for my custom, the air bags around the coil suspension would soon burst, and that Id be wasting my money, leaving him with an unhappy customer. When a shop is willing to reject business based on whats right, theyve won my trust. I will go to Ammermans for my future needs.

Future and current customers BEWARE. Ammermans will not stand by their 12m 12k mile warranty. I could go into great detail on my 1st and last experience with this facility, but all you need to know is when the time comes for warranty repair they will not stand by their work.

Tom has good knowledge of exhausts and these guys have a reputation of being the best in the valley . I had an exhaust leak due to a broken bolt and it was in a very difficult to reach position. Most exhaust shops in boise were not comfortable to do it. These guys did a great job. Will go here again definitely.

I brought in my 40 year old motorcycle and two after market mufflers, and these guys did a fantastic job welding up new mounts, brackets, connection pipes and making the new configuration work. Highly recommended for fab work too!

Ammerman’s, the land of magical catalytic converters! I had them install a new muffler and cat on my motorhome a couple months ago. My setup had two cats and they managed to sell me one cat that was double the size of the original. (For $700) I had a misfire from a bad connection on a spark plug wire. They said I’d be fine driving it the 4 miles back to my house to repair the misfire. The new cat melted and started rattling right away. I took it back in and they proceeded to blame me for the new catalytic converter melting. When I asked if they’d warranty it they refused. When I asked why the cat they out on was so expensive they replied that it has a much higher precious metal content than the “other low quality brands” (flowmaster was one of the brands they trash talked, which I found particularly amusing considering the giant flowmaster sign pasted to their building) When I asked how an ignorant consumer, like myself, could know how much precious metal was in different brands or if there is some kind of rating system indicating the amount of precious metal in a cat... they squirmed and said that their supplier has been supplying them cats for 30 years and they are just “better” than the rest. I concluded that their cats must be made by leprechauns as they are MAGIC!! Ultimately, I feel like I got duped, lied to and sold a super expensive cat twice the size that was required and then blamed for following their instructions of just driving home. Thanks Ammerman’s!

I would never step foot into this place ever again and I recommend people to stay away ! The reason why i took my truck in there for was for an exhaust leak quote. When they called me back, not only were they the highest price in the valley, they told me that my exhaust manifolds had got extremely hot at one time and because of the purple color they would more than likely need to be replaced because they looks like they had cracks in them. After telling me this is said they looked at my brakes and seen that my tears had 10% left and were almost at the scratchers. I went in there and talked to the tech my self as asked if he would show me what he was looking at since I had replaced them my self 2700 miles earlier. He seemed puzzled when I told him that they were new brakes and he asked if I had replaced the rotors, I replied no and he said o well thats why because you have to replace the rotors or it causes un-even wear . Bs to my ears, so I asked him to walk with me out side and show me . When I looked in side the wheels and seen well over 90% or my bad I said well what is the deal now . He said well its the rotors that are bad ... When on the phone they said it was the pads that were at the scratchers. So I looked at the rotors and said you said it was the pads ... He then back peddled and said it was the inside pad that you can only see with the truck on the lift ... This guy totally lied to my face over and over again. They said part about it is I am in the auto industry my self and know plenty about cars ! I went in later that weak and spoke to the manager and he denied the entire thing ... Telling me it was a human error and that he trusts the guy with his life and so on ....after I told him that his guy walked out with me and I showed him that my brakes were fine, he said if you would have told us to do a brake job we would have called you back and said, our bad you didnt need brakes. Their techs are either lying or assuming whats wrong with the car .... Not who I want to be working on my car ... Not to mention it was dead in their shop so they might have been hurting for work. The manager or owner proceeded to defend his business and his tech by puffing his chest up telling me he is the best in town and is the most honest guy that there is. Well you know what they say about the guy who brags about having the biggest d**k around! I took my truck to another brake shop just to make sure i was not seeing things, and sure enough! Brakes are fine ! They told me no profession could mess up on a brake inspection like that if they know what they are doing ! And I also my got exhaust fixed for a fraction of the price down the road with them telling me the Color of my Manifolds was perfectly normal gm trucks of this year . Stay away people!!

I want to know why your mechanic kept insisting on what he didn’t specialize in but yet when I told him to check the distributor cap and button he said he did and it was fine. Yet I get it towed back to Oregon to find out it the distributor like I suggested!!! So evidently he knows what a distributor is but yet he lied straight to my face and cost me like 800-1000 bucks when I could’ve walked across the street and bought the part and had it put on!!!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS

These guys are incredible! I thought Id already posted this review but I guess not. About a year or so ago I had taken my brand new mustang to a different local exhaust shop to get an exhaust kit installed. They did an awful job... The tips were up underneath the rear diffuser and the exhaust was literally rubbing on my rear sway bar. Had I done any track days it could have done some damage to the exhaust, which wasnt the cheapest to buy. This other shop proceeded to lie about why they couldnt fix it and gave me the runaround assuming I had no idea how cars work. Just an all around bad experience. So I call up Ammermans and they say ya come on down and well take a look. They got me in that day and fixed everything for like $30 and it was such a relief. Ammermans has earned my business and I just want to thank you guys for resolving a very stressful experience so quickly. Sorry it took so long for the review...Thank you!If you need any work done these guys are straight shooters and will take care of you.
