Alyssa is the BEST hair stylist. I have been going to her for over a year and she has provided me with the best haircut ive ever gotten. She has colored my hair multiple times and does a fantastic job. Alyssa always goes above and beyond. She is so sweet, positive, and a joy. Thank you!

I liked my cut a lot, no problem there. What I didnt like was the atmosphere and feeling that I got from the place -- like they didnt want people like me to be there. OK, fine. Message received!

They never answer the phone or reply back to emails or messages . It’s very hard to get ahold of them. My boyfriend did get a haircut at the barbershop and it turned out well. I’ve been trying to book another appointment and no one will answer me.

HFOS is the best salon in Gainesville! The energy in this place is amazing and everyone is so down to earth and welcoming. You will leave with exactly what you asked for and everyone does phenomenal work! They also have other amenities as well, nails, brows ect! Go to HFOS for a full 5 star experience !

I had a full balayage “modern” session with Madison today and literally had the best experience ever. I never go to get my hair done because it’s really long and takes a lot of work. Madison took the time in my consult and before we started the day of my appointment to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. And it came out perfect. She took her time blending out the color with my natural color like I asked for, with no harsh lines but still adding a pretty neutral blonde into my hair. Everything came out perfect and she did such a good job. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely love this place! I go every week to get my hair washed and styled, the girls there are so sweet and so professional. They have all the new and upcoming products which I love trying out every week! Hands down best salon Gainesville has to offer!

Oh my gosh! Oh my goshhhhh! I had a fantastic experience! First. Everyone there is wayyyy beyond welcoming and nice! Sereana removed a set of lashes I had on - and put a new set on. What a difference! Not only was she way professional, gentle( I literally dozed off twice during the process Bc I didn’t feel ANYTHING.) But she gave me a bathroom break. ( much appreciated ) offered me a water….literally just went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and it was so appreciated.It was such a pleasant experience. I am booked for my lash fill and I’m totally looking forward to it!!! Ten out of ten!!!

There was some mix up I scheduled a cut, wash, and style and when I got there the hairdresser said I was there for just a cut. I had not had a hair cut in two years and was looking forward to getting the works. I didnt like that the hairdresser didnt even fix my part before starting to cut my hair. If youre going to skip the wash why not use a squirt bottle. (My old hairdresser did that.) The hairdresser did do a good job with the cut and apologized for the mix up. But Im not going to lie I left feeling disappointed with my experience.

I have been to HFOS twice now and absolutely LOVE this salon. It has a classy boho chic vibe and all of the staff are super sweet and welcoming. I have seen Liv, and she is the balyage queen. Highly recommend !

I’m so happy I found this hair salon. It’s the best wash + blow dry I have had here in Gainesville. Sereana was very professional, talented, friendly, and she did a beautiful job. The salon is very clean and I love the interior design/decor. I’m looking forward to their nail and lash services that are coming soon! What a fantastic and relaxing experience. I’ll be a regular client.

Absolutely the best hair salon I have ever been to! Every single person that works here is so so sweet and accommodating, they truly go above and beyond to make sure youre comfortable and have everything you need! Not to mention the atmosphere of the salon is so welcoming and decorated adorably (seriously, Id love for them to come style my home!) I have been to the owner Melissa and switched over to the curly hair specialist, Tristany. Both are phenomenal hair stylists, I let Tristany have free reign to my hair because thats how good she is and how much I trust that she will do an amazing job!! As an added bonus the owner brings her dog to the salon, Delilah, and she is the sweetest welcomer! Honestly, Delilah is always the highlight of my visit! I couldnt rave more about how amazing this place is!

Mel has done an incredible job with this salon! It was my first time getting a haircut here, and despite my nerves, I felt so comfortable. A beautiful space with a wide array of services offered. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I would 10/10 recommend. :)

I do not recommend going to this salon if youre someone who cares about hygiene! For one, there was some sort of pet fur all over the couches at the reception (they have a dog that wanders about), so if youre someone with allergies or cant be around dogs for religious purposes, good luck. I was taken to the back just as a prior customer was walking out, and instead of having me wait for five minutes while they cleaned up, they simply did NOT clean at all! I had to do my entire appointment with someone elses hair pooling around my feet. Yuck. I also didnt see the equipment being wiped down before being used for my hair, so you better hope the person before you didnt have lice. Its quite noisy in the salon, so if you dont enjoy being around people who love to hear their own voices, youre not going to like this place. My hairdresser (Tristany) took the liberty to alter my hair dye to their own desires without explicitly asking for my preferences, so by the time I realized I wasnt getting the style I wanted (you have to take off your glasses for the appointment), it was too late. I left the salon with my hair looking like a disaster, and I was too embarrassed to show my friends and family, as they knew it costed hundreds. I did not get helped after the appointment was over, as all consideration left the door after they were paid. If youre going to go to this salon, consider waiting until they can afford some brooms, as currently the hairdressers rely on blow dryers to blow hair away.

Lovely new salon in Gainesville with extremely talented hair stylists! I booked an appointment with Alyssa to get bangs and she did a stellar job. I keep getting so many compliments and my new look! Will be returning to get a balayage with her as well.

I am so thankful for Liv and the incredible stylists at HFOS. I had a MASSIVE blonde color correction and a terrible haircut from another salon when I came in. I was in tears. Liv colored and dusted my ends, so that I could keep my length. My blonde is perfect, no brass and no spots. I CAN RAVE ABOUT THIS SALON ENOUGH YALL!!!! I came it tears, and left feeling so happy!!! I have recommended them to my entire family and will continue to do so. It’s nice to have a luxury salon in Gainesville, and it’s wonderful to know they are dang good at what they do, so you can relax and trust the process !! Thank you HFOS!!!!!! I’ll drive from any state to come to y’all.

Shoutout to Emily at HFOS Salon ! I have long, super thick hair and have had stylists turn me away because my appointments take such a long time. Emily was incredibly patient, thorough, and gave me the exact look I asked for! Balayage with natural tones to create dimension, and long layers to take off some weight. 🙌🏼I’ve had a hard time finding stylists I can trust in town who are consistent in their work and this Salons owner, Melissa, is a godsend! Melissa has been my go-to stylist for the last 5 years and she ensured me that Emily would do a fantastic job- she definitely did not disappoint!Melissa has established an apprenticeship program at her salon and trains all of the stylists herself. Rest assured any stylist under her direction will make all your hair dreams come true! Not to mention they’re super reasonably priced too.The space itself is absolutely beautiful and conveniently located- It’s right off of Newberry rd. near gainesville health and fitness.If you’re looking for a new salon/stylist I highly recommend you check them out over at Hair Full Of Secrets Salon!

My previous colorist moved out of town and with COVID Id been delaying having my hair done again. I found HFOS and Alyssa on Instagram and I was so thrilled with the salon and their work! I was there for a few hours and got to see a handful of other clients come and go and they were all very happy as well. Spending hours in a salon chair around people you dont know can be pretty crummy for an introvert but the atmosphere was really relaxed and I enjoyed my time tbere. Ill definitely be back.
