Clean. Friendly staff who have never been rude or failed to offer effective assistance or share knowledge when asked :) plenty of space inside and large parking area. lots of equipment multiple specialized areas, solid, frequent updates and projects being worked on by the company. 24 hours, always staffed at the main center. No complaints!

I had a yoga class in the new pavillion and it was very good. Yoga classes focus on breathing and doing the class outdoors was very appropriate.

I am a relatively new patron. I became a member in July. I moved from crunch fitness. Its okay but there is a lot of areas for improvement.The Good:- There is a lot equipment. I have never had to wait to use anything and it is always in working condition. This is a huge plus over other gyms that lack equipment or equip is always broken.- The womens center is nice and more private.- The Kids Club at the Womens center is awesome and hasnt been busy when I have been there.- Having a pool / hot tub / spa area is nice.The Bad:- There is not a lot of variety in the classes, esp the Spin Classes. The longest spin class is 50 mins - 5 min warm up means you only get a 45 min class.- The instructors are hit and miss. Peggy is awesome. punctual and instructive. Raf is not awesome. She plays music at dangerously high levels and ignores requests to turn it down. Its also so loud that its not really instructive because you cant hear anything.- Not all instructors are punctual, many start 5 mins late or end 5 mins early.- The AV equipment in the spin room is frequently not working.- It is not all-inclusive. Barre classes, boot-camp, tribe, massage chairs, are extra. There seems to be a lot of up-selling.- The hours at the womens center are very limited and it is closed on sundays.

Gainesville Health & Fitness is one of the most unique, clean, equipped well-run gyms that I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. Plus the trainers, Group Fitness instructors, and Floor instructors are outstanding. I can not commend to you more highly! Check it out for yourself😀

I had a major, extensive back surgery for which I needed PT. I was sent to ReQuest, attached to your main site. Eventually I was sent to the pool PT and the warm pool therapy and also the whirlpool were so very helpful for me.PT offered a one month free membership which transitioned to my signing up as a member.I can’t tell you how much GHF equipment and staff have helped me through this huge physical and emotional transition in my life! I’m so thankful this facility is available close by.

Gainesville Florida has a national treasure in the Gainesville Health and fitness Center. It is the finest facility on the planet and I have known the CEO and owner Joe Cirulli for more than 30 years. Worth every penny!

Just moved to the area from around Chicago. This is the most exceptional health club I have ever been to. Unbelievable amount of equipment, several options for group classes and training, heated massage beds, sauna and steam, a cold therapy pool!?! Also, they have a physical therapy office next door where they will send you if something is feeling off. I really wish I could give you guys more than 5 stars.

Relocated to Gainesville a little over a month ago and I love love love all three locations! Every location is well-maintained, has friendly staff, loads of equipment (not just machines and weights), and once you’re there its an environment that truly encourages a healthy lifestyle without feeling intimidating.Regarding this location - don’t talk yourself out of going in during peak times, especially if you have Covid concerns. GHF is on top of keeping everyone safe and there’s plenty of room to workout.

GHF has a professional atmosphere and a high-quality facility. Their staff are friendly and helpful. I frequently would see people I knew from other aspects of my life there in the gym. This brought an even more welcoming sense of belonging to me.Tom helped answer any and all my questions. He even gave me his cell number so I didnt have to call the main facility with questions about minutia. Cathy in the accounting department was able to assist me painlessly and she was very pleasant to speak to.I would definitely continue my membership here, if my financial situation were more agreeable. I strongly recommend this gym for their robust selection of high-quality equipment and professional atmosphere.

I would rate this place five stars if we were not under a pandemic. This place has the best equipments and facilities in the city of Gainesville and it is 24/7. I have been working out in this gym for almost five months. This gym can get super packed from 7am all the way to 11:30pm. Sometimes if you come here at 1am, you can still find decent amount of people especially at the basketball court. It’s actually okay if people actually do wear masks walking around. If you come during the busiest hours of the day, I assure that you will contract coronavirus since people are just not wearing masks while walking in between equipments and there is no warnings from the management team. Also, the basketball court is just even more terrible in terms of population. It specifically said upon entrance that no gameplay is allowed. People just ignore that play pickup games anyway and no staffs actually keep them from doing it. It’s literally like a zoo and a breeding ground for the virus to spread.

Hands down the best gym in Gainesville. Never encountered an issue, was always greeted with smiles and friendliness from all staff. Jan was the best fitness counselor Ive ever had contact with, her helpfulness was unmatched. Would totally recommend any Gainesville resident to become a member, some students may be discouraged by the price, but its totally worth it!

I was recently in Gainsville for about 10 days with my wife who was having bypass surgery and needed a swimming pool to maintain my daily swimming routine and found Gainsville Health & Fitness. Everyone I encountered was polite and helpful and I was able to purchase a temporary membership for the week. The pool was clean and well maintained and available 24/7... If you are passing through Gainsville and need a place to work out or swim they offer daily and weekly passes. Thanks for sharing your swimming pool with me, it was greatly appreciated!

Edit: I have updated my review after the response from management. I was made aware of these changes by several instructors. I have been strongly opposed to it since I have been made aware of it. Some of my other friends have spoken with management, per my original review, and were given dismissive responses. We started live streaming in March, but those videos were only available to the staff involved in testing is simply inaccurate. If that is true, why can I view these videos with myself in them? They are on the website for anyone to see. I added screenshots of myself from classes in March, prior to the disclosed date of April 12. There is not adequate signage in regards to being filmed. To be clear, not only are we being live streamed but we are also being filmed to be viewed later. There are ways for you, GHF, with ample resources, to create content for people who wish to stream that doesnt involve streaming classes and creating an uncomfortable environment for those who wish to attend your live classes.I love this gym. The classes are great, instructors are wonderful. I love the friends I have made here and the community we have created from coming here. But I am disappointed, frustrated, and disturbed by GHFs choice to live stream classes against members consent. GHF decided beginning April 12 they would live stream classes. I do not consent to being filmed or on live stream. We have reached out to management and the advice we were given was to go off to the sides or the back. This prioritizes the camera filming over the members who show up and make the gym a community and make it a place people want to come back to. However, I have learned today that they have been streaming classes since March 25... Excuse me? First off, we have been voicing our concerns to management about how uncomfortable we feel about it starting but then to learn it started before the communicated date without our knowledge? I am looking at these recorded videos that I am in, I had no idea that I was in, and that I DO NOT consent to being in. Members pay to be at the gym in an environment that is comfortable. Being live streamed and recorded does not make me comfortable and scooting to the side or the back is 1) ineffective in a room full of mirrors and 2) discourages community and the natural flow of a class that I previously enjoyed here. Really really disappointed.

Ive come to the point, where exercise and movement is more important than the fear I experienced before I came back to the gym in the beginnig of the pandemic. I hesitated at first to come back to the gym. Now that I did, I feel safer here than I do in any other place in town. I started bringing my kids to kids club, and I can trust that he will be cared for and safe. Their facility is held up by the top standard of cleanliness, and members are respectful of their part, by wearing masks and cleaning their equipment. Thank you GHF!

Quality gym but overpriced unless you are grandfathered in. People always hanging out for hours not working out but taking up space. Pools, etc make it worth if you use.

Love this place. It’s always very clean, and the kids club is included! I’ve seen so many instances of the employees doing their best job, going the extra mile, and holding themselves to a high standard (especially with the kids, facility cleanliness, and being available).

Been an on and off member for over 8 years. For a good reason, it’s the best gym in Florida. Expensive, but I tell all my friends and family that it’s worth it if you’re someone committed to fitness, and go everyday. For 60 dollars a month, you get child care, sauna, cold plunge, steam room, pool, hot tub, ball courts, yoga classes, stretch machines, elliptical, x force, free weight, PT assessment, Keiser bikes, body weight area, WiFi, and 24 hour service. If you commit, use it everyday, and use at least half of the facility, it’s 2 bucks a day.

I got a monthly membership last year. Once covid hit I called to cancel it. They gave me a hard time trying to tell me I had to pay a 250$ cancellation fee. I through a fit because I got the monthly membership specifically for that reason. Eventually they let me cancel my membership with no fee. But man oh man did they try to get me to pay that cancellation fee. The equipment is trash and bottom of the barrel. There are better gyms in Gainesville..go there.

Absolutely first-rate facility! Excellent staff, extremely fair price and 24-hour access. I just wish there were more swimming lanes! But truly, I think this a terrific operation, all-around. (FYI, I am almost 73, but in basically good condition, and am NOT paid to say any of this!)

We were pleased with our return to GHFC. Non-contact temperature readings required to enter. Masks required while not exercising was a little preturbing. The staff sprayed down the line after use. Overall, we were pleased.

Well I was going to the pool before the virus and enjoyed it a lot but I am wondering what they are doing to try to be safe in these crazy times because nobody wants to get sick. My favorite thing was swimming in the pools.Though the video link to the new safe gym isnt working.

I’ve been apart of this gym for over 5 years and I’ve never had a better experience on all ends at any other gym anywhere!. Business, customer service, billing, quality, equipment, classes etc you name it they’ve got it and is top quality! I mean that quite literally! I recommend this gym to everyone for everyone.

Great place to workout but it comes at a high price. I personally dont mind paying a little extra for a good gym. This place has everything you can think of including pools and a basketball gym, free weights and machines. Overall worth the price and you cam even grab a smoothie at the juice bar on the way out. Super friendly workers as well. Very helpful and knowledgable about where everything is and proper work out techniques.

The only good thing I can say about this gym are the hours. They are open 24 hours! That being said .. they are severely over priced. Customer service is atrocious and not flexible in any way. Your card is denied you would think they would give you a call to see if you want to change method of payment or as a common courtesy. They don’t! They rack up your bill to 200 dollars and then expect you to pay the full amount. You fit unless it has changed has long hours for the late owl as well as inexpensive fees. Crunch is a brand new gym that it’s inexpensive with newer equipment. Take my word for it and check out the competition before GHF!

I wish I could agree with the folks having a positive experience with Covid guidelines at GHF. From what I have observed, there is insufficient professional training to ensure that the skeleton staff available know how to competently address unmasked people who are clearly not exercising. They appear to be too conflict averse to address it. Unmasked people wander all over, touching machines, making it impossible for those of us who are masked to plot a safe trajectory, and no one on the staff says anything. Or if they do, because someone like me has asked them to, theyll gladly take any loosely woven justification from the unmasked. (Literally left the Main Center after hearing, Oh, see Im holding this water bottle, that means Im drinking, so I dont have to wear one. ... Ah, ok, so sorry to bother you.).There are no clear definitions communicated in terms of what exercising means. Verbally, when we were first making the decision to unsuspend our accounts and return to the gym, it was insinuated that the cardio machines were the only place where exercising could go unmasked. Made sense. We decided to unsuspend and that we would just skip the cardio. But thats not actually the case. So what is exercise? Is it walking between machines? Adjusting weight? Adjusting seat height? Poking at your phone between sets? Filing your water bottle? To a large majority of customers, and the staff, exercise appears to mean walking through the door.

It’s expensive, but it’s one of those places where you actually seem to get what you pay for, which is why I give it the full 5 stars. (I will emphasize the price though, and say if you’re not going to go to the gym, you won’t get your money’s worth.) Staff is full of genuinely friendly people who seem willing to help. Classes are free for members, which is nice. The locker areas are really nice, always clean, always room. The gym does get busy but I never feel like I don’t have access to the machines I want to use. Plenty of stuff to go around, in my experience. I will say that I agree with a previous review about “the line” that they will give you a false sense of guidance by having a staff member there. On the first day of my membership I was told to check out the line and the guy helped me with 2 machines before disappearing. I tried again and the same happened. Not ideal but maybe I’ve just been unlucky. Otherwise, really been enjoying the place. The whole situation helps me stay motivated and coming back and reaching goals.

Great staff, personal training expertise, lovely polished environment, high-tech gear, pools, sauna, all the amenities one could want, and the members here are friendly as well!! Workout, rinse, repeat... Have you tried their smoothies? Or Chill Lounge?? Do it!!Feels Awesome!!!

Aquatic area needs enforcement of safety and cleanliness rules, i.e overcrowding the sauna, and people wearing outdoor shoes/sneakers. COVID is no joke.

My wife has been a member for over 2 years. Today, I attempted to become a member as well. I was told to sit and wait for someone to assist me with membership. While I waited, 2 people who came in after me who inquired about membership were taken back to talk. The difference? They were younger and were already fit. I’m in my 40’s and need to lose 20 lbs, hence wanting to join.So, this is a great place to join if you’re young, fit, and considered good looking. Otherwise, look elsewhere. (Because of this experience, my wife is planning on canceling her membership.)

Overall I enjoy this gym. I enjoy the cast variety of equipment, and presentation and cleanliness of the gym.The people who frequent this gym are inspiring for the most part and are great to be around.My only real gripe concerns the staff. Generally speaking, there seems to be a lack of professionalism. Staff laughing at inappropriate times while talking to them or a lack of good customer service.

You sell your soul into a contract with cancellation fees. However, if you are dedicated and know that youre staying in Gainesville for awhile (they have other membership programs, not just a two+ year contract) this is a good choice for a gym. They have good and varied equipment and the staff/other gym goers are respectful. Also, this gym is 24/7 which is helpful for late-night goers or early risers. Ive been going here for a year and a half and have not garnered any ill experiences.

From front to the backroom staff I am always greeting and assisted with anything Ive asked or needed. Often, my name is remembered. The fitness center is always clean or being cleaned, and equipment is often check for malfunction. You cannot beat the location, size, and everything this gym as to offer. No matter what time of day you go for a workout there is multiple options so youll never have to wait for anything.

Great place to work out! Excellent facilities, friendly staff, and they even have food and free babysitting. The Chill Room offers a place to hang out and relax after your workout too! Would recommend checking it out!

With this pandemic I was a little skeptical about going. The cleanliness of the facility and seeing someone from the staff always cleaning/sanitizing gave me the comfort that I needed.

I really love GHFC I’ve been going for about 5 years now on and off. It’s got all the equipment and accommodations you could ever need. Employees are great and it’s a friendly atmosphere. Recently though every time I go to use the sauna there’s been old men loudly discussing politics (even full blown arguments). They don’t respect the Sauna etiquette and makes the experience miserable. I’ve messaged the manager and nothing’s changed. May not seem like a big deal but it’s takes all the relaxation out of it. Not to mention you’re paying more for a membership to include these amenities and you can’t even enjoy them. Bonus though, you get access to there two other gyms. I’m definitely gonna start going to the women’s center to avoid this.

I do not recommend to go to this club at all. All my life I worked in Los Angeles 24 hours fitness, for work we moved to Gainesville. everything seemed to be fine when we had to move again to Orlando and wanted to cancel our membership , and then they say, for cancellation, we have to pay $ 341.99 if we don’t pay, then we have $ 854.35. I have not seen in my life so that they pay so much for cancellation. not satisfied at all with this fitness club . because of this fitness club, because of their rules we cannot we move to another city? Stupid policythe pool is always crowded. very small. price increased. price does not match the conditions. nor is the system well organized. Save your time and money. There are bunch of nicer places where you can work out better than this unbelievable center with wrong policies.

This place is money hungry. They claim to try contacting you about payments and all this other stuff. I wanted to cancel my contract, went in several times and they wouldnt give me the time of day. They then sent a lawyer after me who sued me for thousands that Im still paying to this day. I was 19. They take advantage of those who are younger and dont know better. Stay away from this place and their shady practices. The lawyers office was no better. I went in several times trying to get the lawyer to talk to me and they all just ignored me. Now Im stuck paying all this money for what? Yall dont get enough money per month? Yall are sick and disgusting.

I have been a member since 2000. My payment has not changed since then. They have updated and changed so many times over the years. I remember the wireless headphones that you could get to listen to while biking or on treadmill. Over these years there have been times where I wanted to take a break from the payments. (not too often) They have always accommodated that. I would then start back at the gym and resume payments without penalty. I have paid the same amount for over 17 years. I am not on a month to month and could cancel anytime without penalty, but love this gym. I wish I would get my butt there more often. I have read many comments and disagree with a lot of the negative comments. 1. I can always find a parking place. It is funny because the parking lot looks full but there is room on the inside. 2. All of the staff have been happy and say good morning and are very helpful 3. The equipment is always in good standing order. The only thing that I would say is 1. get some eucalyptus for the steam room. I went to a gym in south Florida that did that and it was wonderful. 2. The pool does need a good cleaning the last time I was in it. There was some funk floating through it. I found it unusual, but it is true. Other than that I plan to always have my membership.

I have been a long time member of GHFC and am amazed by the quality and continual improvements to the facility. I have felt out of place for the two months its been closed due to the COVID outbreak. GHFC is an integral part of maintaining my health. Thanks for the excellent facility.

Clean great workout spot

I was looking for a good gym were I had lots of options and felt comfortable working out. I have been going to this gym for the past 2 weeks and Im really happy with everything. Everything is always clean and a nice environment. The bad reviews about this place is mostly about the price, and that I will have to agree, the most expensive gym I have ever seen. However, you do get what you are paying for, a high quality gym.

This is an absolutely amazing Gym. And its by far the best gym in Gainesville. They will always be plenty of exercise equipment. Plus they also offer many classes. I would definitely highly recommend this gym.

They really try to finesse you so much by lying saying you have to come in and cancel (Jeremiah and girls answering the phone lying after saying I could before but later on saying I couldnt)so they try to take you in and make you pay extra fees, just don’t go here please. Much simpler and better environment of gyms. Finally just canceled, business center is good. I avoid you tell the front desk your issues, and if you be prepare to be lied to so let them know you know what’s up.

I remember whennit was $50 a year and Joe was my trainer. Very nice man!! And to see it come this far is wonderful. Everyone is super nice. But there are a few issue I would like to see happen. When I go and work out I dont need a reminder of what I can do and cant.. I feel like Im not welcome!! I wish the app would have a reminder where you can set a time frame on when to work out. For an example hey its 2:00 Dont forget to work out today . Something like that.
