Charged me twice after the first time he made a mistake which caused my pc to not turn on. I shouldnt be charged for his mistakes. Was told 20 on the phone and charged 60 in store. Twice.

I took my practically new Dell computer to this man whom I had other dealings with thinking I would get the same help...NOT! The only thing that was wrong with my laptop was the charge port. Not only did he have my laptop for 3 weeks but tried to tell me it was something wrong with the motherboard. He claims he fixed the plug and that the laptop will work if kept plugged in WRONG! I will not be going back, save your money and go to Feel squad. $100 wasted!

My sister took in her MacBook Pro 2017 to get repaired so she can give it to me and instead they kept it and sold it without telling her. Now Im without a laptop because we cant afford to buy a new computer. We paid $1300 for a computer that was ultimately stolen by these con artists who made a profit off of my sisters property. Do not come to these thieves.

My hard drive was locked up and I heard through others how good 43rd Street did great repair work. It was fixed so quickly and the charge was so reasonable. Martin was great to work with! Im recommending his company to everyone.

I met Martin today. I had read a few negative reviews, and wasnt sure what to expect. But I needed some thermal paste, and when I called in asking about it, he offered to give me a smidge- gratis - so I figured it was worth a shot. When I arrived, we proceeded to have a short chat about computers and I found him to be a knowledgeable and entertaining person. I am capable of making my own PC repairs, but if I wasnt, I would surely trust Martin to do the work for me.(Copied and reposted here from the other listing for this business - gainesville PC and laptop repair)

My overall experience with 43rd street computer repair was really good, they were very quick and professional. I had to take in my desktop and my laptop at the same time. The desktop was fixed that day. Basically what had happened is my computer had so many viruses that it wasnt working correctly. It was cool because the technician cleared all the viruses and put some additional malware and antivirus protection on it, it works perfectly now. As far as my laptop goes it needed a whole new mother board put in and my battery was completely shot and I was missing some buttons on my keyboard. Four days later I got my laptop back in tip top shape it had a completely new keyboard, a new battery, and a new motherboard. Definitely will be going back for any computer problems.

I was an idiot to not heed the bad reviews. The repair was an aesthetic nightmare. Also, he argued about what he said he was going to do and didnt. To top that off, he pointed out a booger on the screen (damage to the LCD on the opposite side from where the work was done) that was not there before. He didnt even offer a discount for damage that was done when I took it for repair.

I read the reviews for this computer repair place and anytime I check out someone I go by the majority of favorable reviews instead of the bad ones. I took my laptop to 43rd street computer repair and they were excellent so I dont really understand what the two people with the bad reviews were talking about. My experience with them was wonderful, helpful and they knew what they were doing. My laptop was running slow, had a lot of malware and was pretty much acting up all around. The owner checked it out, cleaned it up and installed a new anti-virus that works so much better than what I had before plus added another gig so now it runs smooth and fast. I would recommend 43rd street computer repair to anyone.

Brought my computer in for a cracked LCD screen, he had it fixed the next morning. He also did a light system clean up (free of charge) and had the lowest comparable pricing in all of Gainesville (I spent a few hours calling around for estimates). I highly recommend going here!

To be clear: Ive taken my computer here several times, and this was my first bad experience, but it was enough that I wont be returning.My original problem was that my PC failed to boot. About a week later, Martin calls to tell me my motherboard is dead and they will need to send it to the manufacturer. Nearly two weeks go by with no word from the business. Finally I call them, only to have them tell me that the vendor is a hassle to deal with, and that I would be better off buying a new motherboard. Tired of waiting, I agree to this plan, along with the installation of a new fan, costing a total of $350. I received my computer around one month after I had originally dropped it off, and it worked for a total of three days before all of the USB ports went dead.Assuming the problem to be with the newly installed motherboard, I return the computer to Martin, anticipating a speedy resolution.A week later Ive heard nothing. I call the shop and Martin says Oh yeah its the motherboard, well try to get in contact with the vendor.At this point Im a little irritated at the lack of communication, but it is nearing the holidays so I chalk it up to the hustle and bustle of the season. After three weeks of silence I call the shop and am told the new motherboard should be there any day.Another week goes by and I call again, and am again told it should be there any day.The next day I receive a text message from Martin, informing me that my computer is ready, and that with the cost of shipping and updating software, I will owe another $100.At this point, Im furious at the idea of giving more money to a shop that didnt fix my original complaint for nearly two months, and I inform Martin I wont be paying. My computer was returned, thankfully, and is so far working correctly; this is the best thing I can say about my experience here.Dont bring your computer here unless you dont need it for a long time and are okay with someone trying to milk you for all youre worth.

I cant believe this Company can actually be labeled as a Company what a sorry sorry lazy place, I warn ANYONE and EVERYONE to STAY AWAY. VERY unprofessional people and VERY un-motivated people, these guys literally DO NOTHING with your computer then try to haggle you with fees on different things they didnt even do. PLEASE people DO NOT GO HERE. Also as a side note, these skumbags are NOT BBB Accredited, they are liars, if you want proof just call and ask for their licence number.

Very unprofessional. The guy said the f-word 2 minutes into our conversation...it didnt bother me, but come on. They then charged me $100 to basically dust out my computer and download some cheap anti-virus software. My computer has since returned to the state it was in before I brought it there.

I went in to Gainesville PC Repair or 43rd St Computer Repair whichever the name is solely because they had such great reviews. The only service I needed was for my brand new laptop screen to be installed correctly. When I went in I was surprised by the way the owner was manhandling my computer when taking it apart. (it was in pretty bad shape, so I expected him to be more gentle) After he had taken it apart I noticed the screen was damaged and it was not before. When I pointed that out to him he got extremely defensive and rude. He also told me that it was my fault because my computer was broken... Last time I checked that is WHY people go to computer repair places? I completely understand things happen sometimes and thats life. However the way he handled the situation was 100% unprofessional and not only did I need to buy ANOTHER brand new screen, but the piece to fix what I originally came in for. Because I am a student I was extremely frustrated to be paying for something I had just paid a lot of money for and that he had broken, especially considering my computer was less than a year old. I just picked it up today and find that the screen bezel isnt even screwed in... for $160 I think that is a ridiculous mistake. Needless to say, I would not recommend them and will not be going back. I would recommend going to a place that is much more organized and clean. Im honestly surprised to be one of the few negative reviews.

Do not go here. unprofessional repair place. They place looks extremely sketchy, they will forget to call you so you have to come in and check in to find out what whats the updates. I brought in my gaming pc and hoping they could fix a freeze but they always had some sort of complication or excuse to do it. THEY DO NOT WORK LIKE WINDOWS 8 so dont even come here. One of the guys blamed the water cooling or the windows format when I took my PC to another repair shop, it was a simple BIOS update and fixed the freeze. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PRODUCTS HERE extremely unprofessional and sketchy. They barely know anything about computers. They also will try to rip you off with outrageous prices. $50 for a diagnostic fee when they didnt even fix the problem. I dont really write bad review reviews, but this place with absurdly horrible. Go to uBreakIFix or GeekSquad some where recognized and provide warranty for their repair.

DO NOT USE!!! THEY SAY THEY ARE BBB ACCREDITED BUT LOOK IT UP IT IS A LIE!!!! Spare yourself time, frustration and anger and find another place to fix your computer! I think the past good reviews were regarding an employee who doesnt work there anymore because they reference a Dan but I didnt meet one there. Let me tell you a little about myself. I work with kids including preschoolers, make software for kids and I donate a lot of money towards childrens charities so Im just saying this to let you know that Im a pretty calm and patient person that really tries to work with people and help out my fellow person so when I tell you that I was upset almost to the point of rage, I want you to understand the full impact. I have never had a custom service experience as remotely horrible as this one, it was nothing short of a nightmare! Here is a brief summary of the issues, make sure you check out the finale, that was the craziest part! To start off I was told Id be called when the problem was diagnosed though I had already told him it was a bad or disconnected hard drive because everything else was loading. For over two weeks I heard nothing until I finally e-mailed him about it to which he told me it was a bad hard drive. I told him which hard drive I wanted and to please install it. He wanted to install a bunch of extra software which I didnt want, to which he seemed to get offended by because when I told him I can put on the software myself because Im a software developer he responded with Well, you might as well come get the netbook and do it all yourself............. do you really need me? How professional is that? Im trying to pay him money to do a job and he is telling me to do it myself? Obviously I dont want to do it myself, thats why I brought it there!! Then he said Let me finish the install........... how much you want to pay? Give me a price So I had to quote him a price? He doesnt know how much he charges to install a hard drive? I gave him a price which I thought was more than fair and he wanted to add $80 just to for a total of $100 just install it + the cost of the drive!! When I said well the $ is for the hard drive install and he said Well have to take laptop apart to replace hd also!! Yeah thats installing it! Not to mention I had purchased some extra ram too so the netbook would already be open anyway! I think $20 to slide in a new hard drive which literally takes 5 seconds since it is open anyway to install that ram is more than fair! Now the GRAND FINALE. I asked them to not do any work on the netbook after all this and Id be there to pick it up the next day. I came and picked it up and returned home to find out that ALL MY COMPUTERS SCREWS WERE MISSING!!!! My computer has no screws, and it was also not even snapped together! When I take my computer to a computer shop I expect it to be in better condition or at least the same, not in much worse!!! Just completely unbelievable.

Called telling him I needed a 2 terabyte hard drive installed and windows on it, that is all, no data transfer. Got quoted a price. Fair market value of labor in the pc repair industry (the other reviewers who feel pc labor should be 10 dollars dont understand the industry, its not a ton of work but thats the price of this line of work)Problem I encountered was he said it would be ready sat morning. Then I got there and he said later sat so I said Id just pick it up Monday. Monday morning I call and it wont be ready till noon or 1, 2 at the latest. So i show up at 130 and he said the guy working on mine just got there so it would be at least 2 hours longer.Still dont know if Ill have problems like if they actually installed the right size drive, if they come up with mysterious extra costs people claim, or the like, but promising timelines and defaulting on them is really bad. Expecially when installing a hard drive takes 5 min and a windows install takes about 20 min tops

I went to this place based only on the positive feedback on this site. What a mistake! I went in there the first time because my monitor was broken. they hooked up a monitor witch I found out the the wrong resolution to function through the video drivers and told me it was a mother board issue. Being fool I ordered the monitor my self and replaced it. I brought it to them again and asked that they replace the touch pud buttons and replace all the missing screws. They called me later and said I did not give them the hard drive... I had to go back to the store and show them where the hard drive was connected on the laptop. They know noting about computers. What I asked them to do should have been $20 in labor and $5 in parts. they wanted $80. I should have fought them on that but It was finals week and I needed my computer back. when I got home I found out that they had put my computer together incorrectly and used the wrong size screws which caused damage to the frame! They know nothing about computers and take offense to everything.
