While visiting family in Florida I stopped in at So Sharp Barber Studio for a haircut. The first thing that caught my attention was how clean and organized the studio was. The staff was very friendly and most importantly they gave me a great haircut! Great place!!!

So Sharp is the only barbershop I trust with my hair. I have been getting cuts at So Sharp since 2017 - when I started law school. Now that I am professional this continues to be the only barbershop I patronized. Tony makes sure that I look SHARP, for all my professional and social engagements .The number one thing you will love about this shop is that the barbers actually give you the haircut that you ask for. Second, the ambiance is a vibe. In total, you are wasting your time and money by going to another barbershop.

All the barbers are on point! Very professional & attentive to what the client wants. My barber Tony has been cutting me up for the past 6 months an honestly SO SHARP is probably the #1 barber shop in Gainesville (in my opinion) The barber shop is always full so I’d recommend making an appointment or you may be waiting a while. I haven’t had a cut in a long time and let’s just say I’m pretty picky on the places I go.After driving around the area and lots of google searches I came across So Sharp Barbershop.They treated me like family very welcoming and friendly environment. If you don’t have an appointment they have walk ins available.Tony who gave me one amazing fade was extremely professional. So professional to where he even was able to squeeze me in from his previous apt time. Not only do you want to have a fresh fade you want to have a clean environment. Everyone was wearing a mask and even when one customer walked in with no mask a friendly reminder was asked to please wear one!Keeping everyone safe is key now a days. I’ve been 3 times to this barber shop, the first two times it was closed, 30 mins after the opening time so I left. The third time was a Sunday it says opens I assumed walk ins were welcome, there was only 1 barber and one client in his chair but was told he was fully booked for the day (understandable) I guess, but how can you run a business with 1 person working a whole barber shop by himself on a Sunday especially if he already booked out his “full day”. What had the most confused is there was a total of 9 chairs I believe, and not a single other barber in sight.

Great barbershop! I have had a few cuts here, all as a walk-in and with different barbers each time, but every time I have gotten a great haircut (and I dont have great hair, lol). Making an appointment is more efficient though as this place gets busy and a lot of the barbers seem to be booked all day (which should tell you that they are good barbers). Also, they play good hip hop and reggae music :)

DO NOT go to this place very unprofessional they pick and choose who they wanna cut. Have u seating there for 2 hours to tell you no one can give u a cut. But then call a walk in up to get there hair cut. So if u not a reg don’t go u will waste your time. And the owner likes to delete reviews if I could I’d give them a -10. Terrible place to go.

I have been going here, at thier various locations, for over a decade. I utilize thier appointment services so I can get in and get out in a reasonable time which not all barbers offer. These guys are at the highest end of the spectrum of skill. Best bald fade in town hands down! Thier barbers bring skills from Miami to Brooklyn. Very clean place and fast professionals that will get you in and out in a matter of minutes but too expensive! $30 for a regular haircut with no adds on. Good experience but will definitely look for a different barber shop since price is so high.

Grandson had 3 previous haircuts starting at 1yr old, he sits great for them but every time it’s a struggle to even get him in. Today they refused to see him and he is now 2. I called ahead told them age and when he got there they refused to cut his hair saying the never cut under 5! This would have been his 4th time in. I will no longer use their service this is poor professionalism. Also to be clear, he was seen at the Newberry rd location at one yo. Then in March still 1 at the 13th st location and again in August at the 13th st location. Pretty sure real professionals would remember a child so small doing so well getting his haircut two times at their location! Also should mention we have his cuts on video on my fb page!

So I already had a barber who I thought was great, until the pandemic started. He raised his prices, beyond just a little bit so I was forced to find a new barber. Im so glad I did!!! Amazing environment with barbers that take cutting seriously. Jonathan is the best barber that I’ve personally ever been to. No one else has touched my hair in 2 years. Worth every penny.

I give credit when credit is do but this may the most poorly run barber shop in Gainesville. They absolutely waste your time. I’ve been multiple times. This isn’t a one time thing. They will go outside during the middle of your haircuts and the worst not show up on time with appointments. Their cuts are decent but for the hassle, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

I had a good experience at So Sharp, the atmosphere is very nice and the barbers are well educated. Keep in mind that this is a teaching facility, so prospective barbers will be learning from teachers. A very good price for a fresh fade.

We were there on a busy afternoon. Not sure how business usually runs, but as a new customer we felt a little confused. We were told to sit down and wait for about 15 mins, ended up 45. The wait was fine and anticipated since there was so many people, but there was no sense of order. I felt like the barbers lost track of which customer arrived first. They did do a good job. Quick in and out for $20.

This place must be full of rich barbers. They walk around lazily, not paying attention to walk ins like they have it made. Floors are dirty. And they do this disgusting thing. Blowing hair around with compressed air. That cant be sanitary. Im calling dhec immediately.

My haircut was great, but the atmosphere definitely was not good. They played LOUD VULGAR music...that was awful. I would not bring my children there to hear such music. Recently, I called three times to make an appointment, only to get what I believe was their answering service; I say that because on the recording it does not say the name of the shop. I’m not sure how I am to make an appointment if the phone is not answered.This place has so much potential if they would only run the place like it is a business; and if they would up their professionalism, including their language and conduct. I for one am not interested in their personal life or interactions among each other.Suggestion: Cut patrons hair, respect us by providing a decent atmosphere, keep you talking directed towards communicating with the customer’s hair desires. Also, don’t let your patrons disrespect the atmosphere.Peace!

I have been going to so sharp for 10yrs and never had a bad experience and my cut was always perfect. Tony has been my barber and never once had a problem. They shop is very pleasant and fun plus full of laughter. The barbers are very professional and will go above and beyond to make your experience worth your while. If you want a great cut good conversation and professionalism then SO SHARP is your place. So if youre experience was not to your liking then maybe its you and you dont fit the SO SHARP mold

Make sure you make an appointment because Theyre . Except when you try and make an appointment with Tony the owner be prepared to be blown off and ignored. Its a very good thing he owns half of it because hes not exactly a great barber. Theyre the only decent barber in the area so thats why theyre still in business because its not because they give good haircuts or have good customer service. When you walk in nobody even greets you. Theyre unprofessional and very unorganized. So if you want a mediocre haircut and your desperate and believe the fake reviews below they had their friends make for them then this is definitely the shop for you. I will tell EVERYONE I know in this small city about my experience. I cant speak for each and every barber, but ownership and Tony as a whole is just terrible. Find a different barbershop, even if you have to drive a little bit further out. Its worth it. Someone with 0 experience can probably do an equal job as Tony would. In other words, youre probably better off doing your own fade.

My first time here. One guy messed up my hairline and had it completely uneven. One temple was clearly larger than the other. I had to go to another barber within the same shop to fix it. The second guy is really good tho. Id give him 5/5 he has a tattoo of a clippers and barber tools on his arm.

I love So Sharp! I have an undercut and always need a new design/touch up. Theyre the only place in town that I go for a clean and sharp design. Tony always makes sure that I leave the shop happy and fresh. Everyone is so welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Due to my work schedule Im off on Sundays and Mondays. Most barbershops are closed on these days also. I was thrilled that theyre opened on Mondays. I arrived at 9:05am and they were closed. I waited until 9:30am in front of the shop. No one showed up. Very disappointed.

Moved in to town not too long ago and the last 2 places I went butchered my hair. The barber who took care of me off rip told me why and actually took his time to give me the proper cut I needed. I saw something about vulgar music below but its current music that most of their clientele likes to hear! Gonna be for sure coming back from now on since theres someone out there who knows how to actually give me a proper cut and not try to rush me out the chair while just talking with the other barbers. Real, no frill chopshop. Old school barber shop feels and always great conversation. These guys have skills and can do a standard high n tight, super fades, or custom designs. Could use some organization but hey, old school barber shop that get u in and out looking good.
