Ask for a mid-fade and ended up with basically no fade. Had appointment with Billy, he was late then proceeded to talk to some man the entire time. Stopped mid cut multiple times to talk with the guy and even stepped away multiple times. Extremely disappointed. Won’t be going again.

I started going to see John this past fall. I usually get a skin tight fade and he always gets the fade to look great. Overall a good atmosphere and the barbers are clean, professional, and friendly.

The only barber shop in town with two Dominicans 💈 barber. The only issue with this place is the waiting time. You need a whole day to get a cut. You better like música Urbana because that is all they play there, gone are the day when you could hear MERENGUE at a barber shop.

Great place to get an old time shave and a hair cut. I had been looking for a place to get a shave and at last found one. I loved the fact that all the hair cutting equipment is stored in pull out drawer tool boxes. Such a great atmosphere. I go all the time now.

Solid cuts. Carlito always hooks me up real nice however I will probably not be going back until they start taking appointments. The place is always packed and the wait is on average 2 hours. Appointments benefit both the barbers and the clientele. I don’t like switching my barber but unfortunately I cannot allocate 3 hours of my day to be at a barber shop especially when other shops in town take appointments and can get me in and out for the same price. If they start taking appointments I will be back but until then....

They give very clean fades for all types of hair. Though they seemed to be better at cutting shorter style cuts like crew cuts or cuts with very sharp and defined parts. They use traditional flat barbor style razors to shave skin smooth.Their waiting times were fairly short, and the place had a simple design and was very clean.

Just watched an amusing experience while waiting for my haircut.For one, the majority of reviewers are right. The wait times here are horrible. Expect to wait at least an hour. At LEAST.There were also many complaints about the barbers not choosing their customers in order, and being skipped even though they had been waiting for longer.Many assumed that this was because barbers were choosing their favorite customers over those that had been waiting longer.Turns out they just can’t read.I watched as the next customer got called up and walked over, taking his seat in the barber’s chair. Watching this, the chap next to me, appearing very agitated, stood up and walked over to the sign up sheet. He turned and angrily walked over to the barber.“Are you calling the names in order?” He asked.“Yeah,” said the barber, a dumb look on his face.“He wasn’t next,” said the Hispanic teen, his crusty, week-old fade bristling with indignation.“Oh.” Said the barber, with the same dumb look.He shuffled over to the sign up sheet, the Hispanic teen hot on his heels.“No I called it in order,” said the barber, confused.“No you didn’t, bro. That’s my name right there. You skipped it.”“Oh,” said the barber.He waved over the kid who was sitting in the barber’s chair awkwardly.“Yeah he’s first.”MORAL OF THE STORY, check the sign up sheet yourself and keep these poor barbers in check. They’ve lost a lot of brain cells doing such a mindless job for so long.The hair cuts were good though.

I’ve tried this barber shop twice now and I know that I can now properly review it. This place is great for trendy haircuts. For more of a clean cut hair cut for things like business meetings, formals etc this place did not deliver for me personally. That said the staff is “diverse” and friendly.

Best Barbers in Town. I say Barbers cause these guys are legit pros. If you want a fade or trim, make your way here. They are always busy. I have been told Wednesday is their slowest day, for now😀 Great crew of people.

This is the best haircut youll be able to get without spending $40+ at an ultra luxury barbershop, hands down. One of the best haircuts Ive ever had. They dont take appointments, and the wait may take a while, but its well worth the wait. Best $14 Ive ever spent.

I just moved to Gainesville and I tried this barbershop out and they cut hair better than I have ever had my haircut. Carlos cut my hair and made the fade perfect and made sure that I liked my haircut throughout the whole time and he was very nice with every customer he had. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming and I would recommend this barbershop most definitely.

I have gone here before and had an amazing cut. The place is a out of my way and I didn’t have a lot of time so I called to see if there was a wait. The man on the phone said it was not busy, so I went. There were 4 barbers already taken and 6 people waiting. I’m my opinion that is busy. Very annoyed, will not be going back.

My wife took my son here and he got a great cut so I was looking fowforward to getting a shave and cut myself but when I went it appears as if they skipped me two times in a row to add friends I guess who came in after everyone in the waiting room unfortunately never got my hair cut still looking for a good place to get a shave and a cut

Just got the worst haircut of my life by carlito. Not only does this place not do appointments which means you can be waiting for up to two hours for a cut, but they honestly don’t listen and give you whatever cut is more easier and quicker for them. I will never come back to this place again. Now i just have to convince myself that this mess of a haircut will grow back..

My husbands new favorite place to get his hair cut. They speak some English but always get the job done well! Be prepared to wait but its worth it.

I wish I could review the quality of the haircuts and the wait time separately. Best haircuts in town by far, worst wait times in town by far. Which unfortunately makes sense. I’ve tried coming in during the day and it’s packed. I try coming in as soon as they open and it’s packed. Unless you’re willing to wait at least an hour you can’t get your haircut here. It’s really unfortunate because they are losing more business because of it, but they obviously don’t need the business from us that walk in and walk out immediately. They don’t take reservations which makes it worse. It would be so much better if they either took reservations or opened a second location. Outside of that, I don’t see this changing any time soon.

The guys are legit barbers. Can’t knock the skills. However, the signup process is horrendous. I’ve signed up for “next available barber” and been skipped numerous times by guys walking in and barely sitting down for 5 minutes. In addition those barbers who took the guys just coming in were chatting it up for 10 min with no one in their chairs. This has happened on several occasions unfortunately. Their system is massively flawed. Skilled barbers with a broken system to get to them.*And I’ve also signed up for specific barbers like my guy V at the first chair on the left. When I have time to wait and he’s not backed up then all is good but when you need a fresh cut and you’re open to the next available barber but still getting passed up then it’s just bad business. Sorry guys.

There is no other barbershop like Js. The Barbers are professionals and they get it done right the first time. The wait can be long, but that is because they have become pretty popular here in Gainesville. I highly recommend Js 503 if you want a professional job done.

Awesome barbershop. Best one in the gainesville area by far. Ivan is definitely the best at fades. Might have to wait sometimes depending on when you go by its definitely worth the wait.

Go when they are not crowded otherwise set some time aside. They dont rush! Every haircut is great. Worth the wait. Bring a café leché for your barber and one for yourself. Sit and relax.

Wait wasnt too bad. But Barber that I got did not do what I asked, his temp fade took 1.5 hours before he got to my beard. The temp fade was terrible. I asked for a chin strap, he edged my full beard. I asked him to go over the top serveral times to even it out, he still did not even out the top, my hair is different lengths throughout my head. So theres at 20% chance you will get a horrible cut.

I went here 3 times... Im from out of state and Im part Puerto Rican and usually seek out Puerto rican/ Spanish barbershops... First guy that cut my hair was from DR... Even tho my Spanish could be better we had no issues communicating and he tried really hard and took his time but overall I think he was a little inexperienced... Not the worst or best cut but so so..2nd cut was with Carlos 2 weeks later. I explained everything I wanted in detail and he did a great job. it was a fresh cut... I tip him $10 on top of the $20 for haircut...3rd time I came back exactly 1 week later asked for Carlos. Told him same thing as last time... While cutting my hair he was talking to other people about the playoffs the whole time and he must have stopped caring about my haircut because he proceeded to give me one of the worse haircuts I have had in a really really really long time... Rip my hairline...

Hands down the best barbers in town. All their staff is super friendly, happy and super talented. I dont have a preferred barber because all of them cut so well I just go with whoevers available. They environment is welcoming of all people and ages. The only downside is that their wait times can be a little long it isnt uncommon to wait more than an hour if its busy. But I dont mind the wait cuz theyre just so good and I always have a great time getting my hair cut. They all know me by name and I just cant get over howl awesome they are. Needed to find a barber shop in town for regular upkeep of my hair and though Id try this place out considering its close proximity to my apartment. Walked in October 10th at 10:30 am, signed in and had a seat. They had metal folding chairs and leather sofas that were worn down and had tons of rips in them like the dragged them off the curb from someones house. They had coffee available, no signs for prices, no music in the background, the guys were really taking their time, but the work looked quality. Theres a LOT of Spanish spoken here, that doesnt bother me, I lived in Miami and quite used to that and the atmosphere but they seemed to be on Miami time too (Slow).One stylist had a customer of friend sitting in an open chair talking to him while he had a customer and was talking more than paying attention to his guest. He would stop and talk, cut a little hair, stop and talk with a lot of hand motions, cut a little, talk more, and the customer looked uneasy like he was becoming impatient.When I sat down to wait, there was 7 men ahead of me and after waiting 20 minutes, one stylist finished and called the next person. A gentleman came in shortly after, put his name on the list and sat down. The next stylist to finish walked over to the list and called the guy who just came in before everyone ahead of me.After another 10 minutes the distracted stylist finished and called the next name. If each haircut there took 30 minutes, I would have been there for at least and hour and a half just waiting.My time is to precious to be wasting it waiting that long. I went to Regis and no regrets. Got in immediately.Id give this place a half star if I could. Save your time and go somewhere notable.
