Fabulous work! What we thought was going to cost me 2000.00 to repair. The mechanic decided to look further into the car problem and it ended up costing me 400.00 to fix it. Wow very honest people. Im a woman they easily couldve took me for my money but their business matters. I will be taking all my vehicles to them.

Very nice no long wait time. Did a excellent job and were honest.

Long story short, a squirrel chewed on my wire harness causing all sorts of bad symptoms. The head mechanic personally called prior to starting diagnostics and quickly determined from my ramblings what the problem was. I was quoted a price from Sean, and when the repair was successfully completed the final bill came out to be 20% less. 5 Star Auto is an outstanding value.

This business has really fair prices and the owner is very nice. I took my car there when it was overheating and the AC stopped working. He fixed it quickly. A few days later the AC did not work when the car was just in idle. I took it back and he fixed it the same day at no charge, but 3 days later it is now only working when driving. I hope he will fix this problem again because it is freaking hot where we live.

Great!!!!!! Good people to work with. The owner is nice and he dont try to cheat you. Only fixes what needs to be done. Hell tell you what you might need later. But wont say spend your money now. Hell let you know you still have life in that area. But get ready

This place is great. I was so happy I read the reviews. Small little shop, very affordable with knowledge mechanics. I appreciate the work they did so much. I have a Volvo s6 and I knew the price would be hefty as I got quoted several different places for a new timing belt/water pump (over 1000) which is crazy BUT this place fixed my timing belt,water pump, camshaft, serpentine belt, air filter and checked my transmission fluids that other places wouldn’t even look at (because it requires special tools) all for $860. Such a blessing during these times. Shawn was so sweet and will be definitely be coming back here for any future repairs! My car drives so healthy again!

I was so happy with my experience here! I came in and told them my check engine light had come on and I needed my truck in driving condition. They went over everything that was wrong and what was necessary to fix now. They called me anytime there was either a hitch or when they found something else important to fix and worked so well with my limited budget! I called this shop after calling 5 other places in Fresno. Because of my lack in car knowledge they all tried to price gauge me. But not 5 star auto. They did not try to overcharge me at all. Don’t let the managers voice throw you off. He is very professional and friendly. My first visit here I had a broken window regulator and I didn’t even know what it was when I brought it in. The mechanic explained to me what I needed and the manager told me exactly how much it would cost for the part, repairs, and installment. My second time coming here my car was sounding weird when I tried to start it up. I brought it in and the mechanic immediately told me it was the battery. He also ran a full diagnostic just to be sure I didn’t need anything else. Again the manager looked up a new battery for me and within the hour I was on my way. I have been to 5 star auto twice now and I definitely won’t be going anywhere else in Fresno. Great speedy service, knowledgeable mechanics, and honest men.

I took my vehicle in for an oil leak and they were able to diagnose it and get the parts right away. I ended up having to have several things repaired, you know how one leads to another, but they took pictures and sent them to me and kept me informed the whole time. And, they are ASE certified. The manager even gave me a discount because it took 2 days to do all the work and he wants to ensure his customers are happy so they will return. I will take all my vehicles there from now on.

The owner shawn lied to me 4 × times. Telling me one thing then denied saying it. I will never use this business. In the future. After a bad encounter over the phone. I decided to talk in person. The owner confronted me as I arrived. After a lengthy talk . He refunded all money I gave as a deposit $500. For a $1600. I give a 1 star for returning my money. But no star for over charging for things that didnt need replaced I took jeep to another repair shop to have him see whats wrong. He estimated half the cost that 5 star estimated.

This place is amazing! I thought it was going too be a huge expensive fix.. the mechanic looked under the hood and immediately found the issue! I needed to service my transmission and they did the service. They replaced the filter and my truck feels great. I went there because a friend of mine took his van to them for some repairs and I went over the service invoice and felt that the prices and the time he was charged was fair and they didn’t tried to rip him off. When we picked up the van the auto technician came out and explained what he did to the vehicle. I highly recommend this automobile shop.

My wife and I went to this garage with a European, right hand drive Fiat Ducato panel van with suspension problems. Daniel and Sean worked tirelessly to source parts and find the right people to make what was not available. Great service done extra quickly and with no warning of us coming. A great team, we were very happy with everything that they did for us and strongly recommend them!!!

Out of all the auto shops in this area, 5 start auto repair & smog had the cheapest diagnostic and the money used for the diagnostic also went towards repairs saving me extra money.I had excellent service. I received calls updating me on the progress of the repairs. I got my car back within a few hours fixed.This place is great and would recommend it to anyone who is having car troubles.

I had a water pump failure and a bunch of dry rotted hoses. 5 star smog and repair took care of everything and did it quick. Didn’t cost me a fortune and even cleaned up the engine bay a bit. Would definitely recommend them and will be back if I need any repairs in the future! Thanks guys!

This is one of the few places that can charge you a flat rate for diagnostics. They took the time to throughly inspect my ac and left great notes on what is needed for repairs. This is one of the most honest auto shops in town. You definitely should come here if you need something done.

I was so happy that I was accommodated so professionally and they took my car in so quickly. My AC went out during 105F temps just before my 87 yr old mother would visit and they took care of it for much less than another local chain quoted me! I called Five Star Auto Repair at 3:00pm on a Friday afternoon with an issue related to my vehicle’s charging system. After being disappointed in the local GMC service dept (they said they couldn’t help me until Monday),Shaun and his team were quick to provide service and quickly diagnose the problem as a battery issue. They replaced the battery quickly and we were back on the road by 4:30!!! Thank you to 5 Star Auto for saving the day!!! They provide fair, reliable and competent service with a great attitude!!!

I highly recommend this place! Sean was extremely friendly and helpful and the pricing was more than fair. They were able to take care of my car within a few hours and even knocked a little off the labor cost. I brought it back in the very next day to complete the smog check and that took all of about 20 minutes and was $10 cheaper than the place next door. I will be coming here from now on.

Did not feel welcomed, felt like the transaction as rushed, I was called 20 mins before closing telling me if I dont get my car it will have to stay all weekend, was told that I needed a hub assembly and catalytic converter when both tested positive days before and hours after going to this shop. The $85 I was charged technically is fraud based off the false information I was provided, now I still have the same issues but now with less money to feed my kids.

Very nice people!!! I went to other places to get my brakes checked because my car would start rolling, with my foot on the brakes, at a red light or stop sign. I took it to multiple places and they said nothing was wrong, but they were only checking my brake pads and rotors. Very helpful and friendly!

When Ive had to make decisions about my car and how to fix it he and the head mechanic have always laid my options out clearly and worked with me.The guys in the shop are knowledgeable and have always done a good job getting my car back on the road. A little disappointed as I was charged $270 for a shifter linkage repair, which is no more than $25 in parts. The service was quick and received my car back within a couple hours on a weekend which was great.

Wonderful experience! I have a classic honda that needed a lot of major work to revive back to its original luster. My wifes Suburban was overheating on our way out of Yosemite and was leaking coolent. It was clear we werent going to make it back to L.A. without help. I called 5 Star Repair, explained our situation, and told them I was 5 miles away. When we arrived, they stopped working on another vehicle to work on ours. They showed me a big crack in the radiator and had a new one delivered, installed, and tested all within about 2 hours. They were even going to drive my family to a hotel nearby if the new radiator didnt arrive quickly. They treated us like gold. I will never forget the outstanding care and customer service we received. Thank you for keeping my family safe. We made it home the same night at 9 pm thanks to their attention and efforts.

Replaced the ac compressor with freon recharge for a lot less than what the firestone asked for!! The ac has been working great since the replacement. Sean and guys here are very responsible what they are doing. If you dont know about car very well like myself, new to town, this is the place you are looking for.

I took my car in for oil change and hissing break pedal. They told me that my break booster is bad, but instead of charging me $500+, they gave me information from Ford saying that they have called break booster out on my model of car as a campaign and should fix it for me at no cost. I called local Ford service and they are resisting, so Ill call Monday to their corporate office. If they dont honor the campaign, Ill let the honest guys at Five Star repair it! These are people you can trust to not rob you blind.

Showed up for smog service and got friendly and very fast service and it was cheaper than anyplace in town. The shop itself isnt the easiest to see but I wouldnt let that stop you.

I was wanting to take the car in to have the ac compressor replaced. They want to charge an extra $120 to check it apart from the replacing of compressor. If they are going to do the work why should have to pay an extra $120? That is ridiculous

Took my 2012 Chevy Equinox because the engine light had came on. The service was friendly and I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of when it came to pricing ( as sometimes I do walking into a mechanic alone and being a girl) . After researching how much it should be to fix the problem they were on the lower end of the price range for both the diagnostic check and fixing the problem! They took their time to explain everything to me and didnt mind questions. The mechanic even brought me a water! Which was very thoughtful! Me being 9 months pregnant! Overall excellent service and I will be going back!

I did my smog check for the DMV and my service for my Prius here. Prices are amazing and they did a great job on my car. I also didn’t wait for too long they told me an exact time when the car would be ready. Very hospitable and good service, highly recommend checking them out!
