Nick and Jason were amazing! They accommodated us with a last minute booking due to our other charter company’s boat blowing a boat motor a few days before our trip. I call it divine destiny because these two gents were amazing! They accommodated us with two boats since there were 7 of us and we had a blast catching fish! I fished in the boat with Jason and he was absolutely hilarious. We had a 9 yr old boy and an 8 yr old boy on our boat and he made those two boys crack up the entire time! We couldn’t have had a better time with these guys and when we come back we will be using them again. Just like most of the other comments, we wished we had more time! Captain Nick did an outstanding job getting us exactly what we were looking for. This was our first charter ever. It was perfect for our 15 yearolds and 11 year old. On the first drop we had a fish in the boat. We caught monster Red Snapper, King Mackerels, well as a bunch of other varieties of fish. We had an epic 3hr kids Charter with Captain Nick!! We caught fish the entire time including a dozen + Red Snappers , Trigger Fish, Ruby Lips and then a on top of that a GOLIATH GROUPER!!!! He has great equipment, knowledge, and patience with kids and their novice parents. A trip we will never forget.Money can’t buy the memory and pictures you gave us!!

Paid a deposit the week of trip but needed to cancel the day before due to Covid , couldn’t get an answer then got charged another $525 for a trip we never got .Never signed nor was shown any cancellation policy. My mother n law recently passed with Covid so rather not expose the crew to it but it seems they would rather get exposed and then pass to next group after us rather than return a phone call and cancel our trip .Speaking to them you can definitely tell it’s more about money than people and safety to their customers.

Caught a ton of Spanish Mackerel and sheepshead. More than enough to feed our crew of 7. Captain Nick was great for our 2 boys. He made sure the ride was enjoyable and entertaining for them. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the area. We would use him again in a heartbeat.

I don’t even know where to start on how fantastic this trip was and how much fun the kids had. We took 3 boys aged 11, 10, and 8 with us and Nick made the experience with them well worth it! He answered all questions the boys had about fish and boats, and the conversation us adults had was awesome as well. But enough of that, the fishing was unreal!! Nick has been doing it long enough he was able to get us on hot fishing and before we knew it, our trip was over. This is my second year in a row using Scallywag Charters. This year we had the pleasure of meeting Captain Jason. Unfortunately, the surf did not cooperate and we were limited to the bay. That still didnt stop Captain Jason from putting us on some fish. We limited out on Mangrove while it seemed some of the other charters were struggling to produce. I highly recommend Scallywag Charters. You can not go wrong with Captain Nick or Jason. They are both very knowledgeable dudes that clearly have a passion for what they do. I might have to make a quick trip back sooner than later for another round.

Went on a kids charter with my 5 and 7 year old boys. Jason was awesome! Within 30 minutes we was on the fish and started on them for a good hour and a half. Caught lots of red fish and several other smaller types of fish. Highly recommend Scallywag!

This was our first time to vacation in Fort Walton and this was our first fishing charter. Captain Nick was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the different fish and fishing techniques and he put us right on some Reds, which is what my husband had his heart set on. We were not disappointed in the slightest. I have always had high levels of anxiety when it came to the ocean and being on a boat with waves and such. He navigated the waters like second nature and I did not have any issues at all, which is amazing within its self. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!Captain Nick & Marisa were so nice! From the start, they took care of us and made sure everything was good to go. Marisa texted and called me to make sure we were aware of where to park, what to bring, etc.. The morning of our trip, bad weather was coming and Captain Nick didn’t give us the run around or just take our money. We rescheduled and then we were unable to make it, because our boat broke down. Once again, Captain Nick was completely understanding and wasn’t greedy and didn’t take advantage of us. Such a standup guy and gal! Their customer service is by far way off the charts!!!

Went fishing in the gulf (4hour) with Captain Nick and my family on 7/10/20. Wasn’t sure what to expect since the water was rough, but Nick put us on 25+ Spanish Mackerel (sometimes two on one line ) in the first hour and a half. We then ventured out further with bigger bait. Despite the fact that Nick said snapper is getting scarce, he put us on a couple of fat snappers as well. Left with Lots of dinner. Fried up the mackerel for tacos (Nicks suggestion ). Can’t wait to come back down and get out there with Scallywag again.

Nick is the best captain ever!!! Not only did we catch plenty of snapper to feed the family for dinner we also saw several dolphins on the way back in. He had an amazing attitude and was super knowledgeable about the water! 10 out of 10 recommend him as your captain.

EDIT: I am being threatened by the owner with a lawsuit if I dont remove my personal opinion about this charter. Little FYI for the owner, I am not a random person commenting. I went on your charter a few weekends back and this is my personal opinion. Which in fact is covered by the first amendment and anti-SLAPP laws that cover honest opinions online when companies try to threaten them over reviews.----------This is a review on the inshore bow fishing that they do. I really dont understand the point of going after cownose rays. Not only are they a near threatened local species but, you dont eat them. Seems like shooting the rays with an arrow for a picture is pretty cruel. I would think a local guide would be more interested in respecting the local wildlife. Instead it seems this charter wants to make a quick buck during the off season and shoot some rays.

Highly Recommended ! Awesome trip with Captain Nick Kirby! Start to finish exactly what I was hoping for in a charter fishing trip. We were greeted by Captain Nick with great energy and enthusiasm, with a nice boat and equipment prepped and ready to fish. As we ventured though the bay we had a chance to catch our own live bait which was great fun and Captain Nick makes it easy, he teaches simple methods which will have you pulling up to six nice bait fish at once on the same line. After plenty of bait we’re ready to head into the gulf to go after the big fish and that’s what we found! Captain Nick knows the fishing spots, makes you feel confident in what your doing, will bait your line and de hook your catch so you can focus on fishing! We were able to catch our limit on Red Snapper, caught a Grouper, some Mahi Mahi and a 40 lb Cobia! We even had a few dolphins swim by the boat to see if we had some fish to spare. It was incredible! We boated back to the dock through beautiful Destin, posed for some great pictures with our catch and Captain Nick filleted, bagged our catch for us to end the trip. Later on we enjoyed some cold drinks and had a feast! I highly recommend booking a trip with Scallywag Charters it will be the highlight of your trip!

Fun fishing trip with my husband May 2018. Captain Nick Kirby is great and very ambitious. He worked very hard to find the spot where the fish was biting. We caught many fish reds, black drum, sheep head and I caught a speckled trout 26 1/4 inches. I am having it mounted. Would highly recommend Captain Nick Kirby. This was our first time in Ft. Walton Beach, but wont be our last. May return in Dec-Jan for fishing for flounder.

This was the best of the best charter trip I have been on. Capt. Nick knew right where to go. He got as excited as I did every time I got a bite. We had an awesome time. Captain Nick put us right on top of some King Mackerels which gave the kids all the fight they wanted. We also caught some Spanish Mackerel and some Bonita. My wife wanted so bad to catch a shark so we loaded up, moved to a different location, and within 3 minutes of casting she had one on the line. Captain Nick was nice enough to bring the shark in the boat so we could get pictures with it. Captain Nick has a great personality, you can tell he is very knowledgeable at what he does, and was super nice and patient with the kids. Great trip!!

We showed up and conditions weren’t as good as we’d hoped to go out in the gulf chasing bigger fish but Nick took my wife and I on a very fun inshore trip where we targeted redfish and mingos. We came to destin for a family vacation, and my boys (10, 8, & 6) wanted to go fishing on a boat. We were fortunate enough to find Capt Kirby. This guy was a class act, as professional and friendly as they come. He knows the ocean, the fish, his equipment, his boat. Just show up and be ready for a good time. My 10 year old caught a huge King mackeral, enough fish to feed our party of 17. It was by far the best experience weve EVER had on the ocean. I cant say enough good things about him and his operation. It wont let me leave a 20 star review, so Im going to have to settle with a 5 star ;)

I can’t express how much I enjoyed this trip with Captain Nick. I bowfished for stingrays on a Sunday and did a little bayfishing on a Tuesday. I absolutely loved every minute of it. Nick is so personable and easy to get along with. I HIGHLY recommend a bowfishing trip to Destin. Best thing I’ve ever done. Dock on the Island is great for taking your catch back. Take it from a guy who has fished all over the US. If you are in Destin and you want to catch a lot of fish give Captain Nick a call. I had the privileged of fishing with him this past week and needless to say I was impressed. We kept it really simple and just said take us to the fish. Within two hours into the trip we had limited out on Sheephead then we cough some reds and Spanish mackeral. In a 6 hour trip we put over 40 fish in the boat.
