First I was recommended to come here by a friend and recommended to someone in particular. I booked online with that person and unbeknownst to me it was changed to Victoria. I should have listened to my gut and rescheduled. She has zero idea how to cut and layer. Took 4 inches off the front of my hair in a single layer thinking that was layers. I stopped her after that and someone else tried to fix it. It is still absolutely the worst haircut Ive ever had and Ive had bad ones. My hair was medium/long with no layers so clean slate. She has absolutely no business cutting unsupervised and now Im going elsewhere to try and even out. I have basically two different haircuts on either side of my head. Absolutely an embarrassment and she shouldnt be a professional stylist at this point in her knowledge and skill level.

Very nice friendly staff. Walked in, got lucky to be able to be seated right away and didnt take to long to have my hair cut. Will visit again.

I had gotten my hair cut, because I have really long hair and it was growing out a little too much. I love my long hair and would never want to get rid of it. I was looking for a little trim and my layers fixed. The stylist showed me how much she was going to take off and and it was a perfect amount. After the trimming was done she kept shortening it for the layers and ended up taking 7 inches off my hair. I’m very disappointed and upset about my hair.

I came here frequently about 3-4 years ago but was rarely happy with my haircut or the process so I chose a different place. HOWEVER, I went back last week for the first time in a long time and got the best haircut and service from Destiny. She was so kind, really listened to what I wanted, and offered great suggestions. I will definitely be going back for Destiny’s work in the future.

Great place! My son loves it! Its a little more expensive than great clips, but they did a great job on my sons hair, we will go back for sure!

My son was given a haircut and the bangs were different lengths. Random long pieces all over his head by around 3 inches. Worst haircut ever.

Dre is my go-to gal. At this point, I dont even have to tell her what I want, she just knows! She keeps my hair looking healthy and keeps me realistic about my desires (I have jet black hair and I always get into those moods that us girls get into where we wanna change our hair up - I usually want to do a few sections of platinum gray...on my jet black hair hahhaaha). She is who my husband goes to as well and when my little girl needs a haircut (eventually) she will also go to Dre. We wont go to anyone else!

I have long hair and wanted a good clean up figuring about 4 cut off but was not very happy with Danielles service, it was choppy and she missed some small areas. Maybe she was having a bad day?

I have debated for about three weeks about writing a review but since I had to go spend another 175 today to get my hair redone I decided to post this review. I had Amber who did a cut and full foil. First she said so I didn’t have to pay for long hair she was going to cut the length off some first, she never did that and I even questioned her saying you said you were going to cut it before you started the foil. She said it didn’t matter she wasn’t putting the color on the long ends anyhow. Then I had showed her pictures from my phone on the color and the cut, several pics. I like it very blonde. I usually get blonde and caramel high/low lights. She suggested cuz I was getting so much cut off to just do the blonde cuz I was going to lose a lot of the blonde. She also said I needed a toner to get the bright blonde I was wanting or it would be yellowish/golden not bright blonde, so I paid and extra 30 dollars and I got golden highlights. She knew it was not what I asked for and showed her pics of before we started after she tuned it out. I had high hopes once she dried it would be lighter. It was not. I trusted she knew what she was talking about. Big mistake. Then when she finally finished with the coloring she started the cut. Again I showed her a pic from my phone and specifically told her I wanted lots of choppy layers, messy look. I also told her twice I wanted it shaped around my face. She never did do that. She cut the length off then held a piece of my hair up at the crown and said and how long do you want this. She cut that layer and my cut was finished. She just blew it somewhat dry and the cut and blow dry was done in less then ten minutes. I paid 175 and gave her a 15 dollar tip just to let her know she didn’t deserve what she got let alone anymore. I did also pay for the long hair price that she was going to cut before we started but she forgot even though I questioned it. I have worn my hair in clips on top of my head since the day she did it couldn’t do anything with the cut. I had to go have my hair highlighted and cut again today to pay another 175.00 total with tip and it is done correct. This was the dirtiest salon I have ever been too and this is during Covid and it wasn’t even busy. I will never go back to this salon and I will share with all I know about my experience.

I arrived at 9:06am since they open at 9am, hoping for a quick cut. I see about 2 people waiting and about 5 staff members inside. I ask for a haircut and the receptionist says they are booked and it will be between an hour to 1 1/2 hours! How is that possible when they just opened for the day and there are only 2 customers ahead of me with more than enough staff?! Im never going back. The Chisago City location is way better.

A great experience at Fantastic Sams. Great customer service didnt have to wait too long got my haircut with my son face at us together which was nice because my son hates to get his haircut. They listen to everything I said and they did exactly what I said. Hey fantastic place very clean very nice they have products if you need them. Overall a 5-star experience! Definitely will be back and highly recommend you going and seeing these people and when they ask you for the hot towel treatment take them up on it its awesome!

I have big, long, naturally curly hair. In my 40+ years, there has been minimal difference between a $20 hair cut from a competent stylist at a lower cost, family-friendly salon and a $60 hair cut from the fancy pro shops. So, I found a couple people at Fantastic Sams who have naturally curly hair, and I ask for them when I walk in for a cut. They do a great job every single time! Pricing is fair and reasonable. I love the conditioning treatment for $10 extra and the weekly specials.

My boyfriend made 2 appointments tonight for 6pm for his daughter and I to get haircuts. I was there for 30mins while she got her haircut, while a few other people saw a stylist. No one said anything to me or acknowledged I was waiting for my haircut as well. Usually have good service at this specific location, now I’ll take my business elsewhere! Customer service needs major improvement.

Awesome prices for professional service. Atmosphere is inviting, and everyone is welcoming. I see Andrea and would recommend her to anyone. Always willing to listen to your wants and never disappoints. Worth the visit won’t regret it.

Quick, easy, they know what theyre doing. But if you want detail I think you would be better at higher end salon/barber. Otherwise, I know they got them fades down. Would definitely go back for a quick cut.

I gave a 1 star due to the experience I had with Theresa Pederson when she worked at the other fantastic Sams, I went to her twice and she is horrible, I went to school for hair and both haircuts I had to get fixed because it looked like she was still in school, when she cut my husbands hair I would have to fix it because it was so choppy. Also Theresa likes to have affairs with married men, especially with mine, so ladies be careful when having your men go to her, she likes to pay for everything, except her rent to buy her way into their lives and their attention, she also stoled product from her job to give to my husband, and that came from him. So nice company to have someone like that work for you, how embarrassing!

If I could give negative stars, I would. Went in to get my hair cut and colored. Upon deciding what we were going to do the lady offered water / coffee.... then never brought it. During the process, she kept getting dye all over my face and neck and would forget to wipe it off - when she finally did I had dye stains and she tried to clean it off only to tell me do you have make up wipes at home? Those will take it right off... so I left with dye stains on my face and neck. When rinsing out the dye she started to get nervous and fidgeting and that was when I realized it was not turning out like we had discussed and she had to do a couple of rounds of toner to try to fix it. By the time we got to the haircut, my hair was so tangled and knotted (it has never been like that and after two showers and an at home conditioning treatment it is still like that). Once she realized this, she stormed through the haircut only cutting it to the right length (I wanted 9-10 off) and she did not touch my layers or bangs and it seemed like she was trying to push me out the door. For how much I paid, I am beyond disappointed and will not be going back.

This low rating has nothing to do with the stuff, I always seem to get a pretty decent haircut from here and the staff seems nice everytime i go but i recently got a cut from there and the price for a mens haircut just got jacked up to $20+ tip generally i give $3. This is starting to get a bit ridiculous for an easy mens haircut. My cut is super simple, buzz sides,clip top, and fade together, 10-15 min cut tops. Im sorry thats not worth $23. Time to start looking for another place to cut my hair.

We have come here around 8 times since moving to the area over a year ago. Loved the first few times and since then the last 6 months its either great or horrible. Went tonight and checked my son and I in the get haircuts- was told there was no wait. My son was brought back right away and the next customer that came in was seen by the next available stylist and nobody ever called me- so I said never mind and paid for my son and left...you never know coming in what kind of service youre going to get- I think they need better organization and leadership. The stylists we usually end up with are really good individually- communication doesnt seem consistent between the employees.

My son has autism and haircuts are hard for him. He used to SCREAM and I would always end up tipping more than what the bill was bc I felt so bad. But now he gets his haircut by Theresa every time and she is so good with him, he isnt stressed out and he loves to see her!

This store is well worth the trip from anywhere in the metro area. The staff is great and everyone appears to really be happy to be there. They’re straightforward with their pricing so there aren’t any surprises when you’re done. Check them out!

First time going here... immediate impression of being subjected to judgement. Most of the people I interacted with there had a snooty attitude and didnt seem to care about you, rather just the business they got (unless you happen to be regular, then its all good cheers). I kinda liked the hair cut I got, but later noticed a part that the lady seemed to have avoided cutting, leaving me with a horribly-obvious cowlick on the top of my head that could have been avoided. It was also an uneven cut around the crown which looked bad. Havent been back.

Andrea is the best The staff there is just awesome and fun. Even if they made a pill to keep my hair the same I would still go there to get cut.

This place used to be awesome until all the good stylist left. I know why they left, because the owner before them sold the place to new owners, and Im sure things change. I wont be going back because its gone down hill in service.

It was a quieter day than normal. I was relieved, because I expected my stylist could be at her best with less distractions. WRONG! I asked for a trim and agreed to 1/2 off, shorter in back, angled, longer in front. She took off closer to 2 and its all the same length bob style. I hate it!! I wont go back!

Theyre good for a basic cut or basic wash. I one time asked for them to attempt to match my roots which I understand is hard but they put red in my hair when I was a bleach blonde... my roots arent red, when I went back to blonde I had a horrible time getting the red out.

Cut, color & conditioning treatment was awesome. Stylist made recommendations and provided great customer service. Was impressed as this is the first time Ive ever had them color my hair.

I had a hard time finding a good Consistant hair cut, fantastic Sams forest lake was just what I was looking for.

I have recently went to FS and it was terrible at first! I had this lady cut my hair too short and did not do what I had asked her to do. I even brought in a picture. When my haircut was finished, I told the lady that I did not like it and she didnt do anything about it. I left in tears and I came back ten minutes later saying I do not like my hair cut at all. The lady completely understood and I had my regular stylist Emily fix it and she did an amazing job, As Always! Besides the first lady who cut my hair, they do a great job.

OMG...HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS..i left before they touched my hair...BAD MANAGMENT ...

Appointments seem useless here. I set my appointment a week in advance. There were 3 of us that had appointments at the same time upon arrival. I arrived in the middle and on time. Both of the others got seated with less than 5 minutes wait, while nearly all the walk-ins went first - some who arrived after me. I had to wait nearly a half hour. Once I received my consultation,I was informed they ran out of carmel color, but that I could come back and get that color once they had it in stock - but that it would cost me more to come in twice (I had planned to have a highlight and a lowlight) That was it for me - I had to walk out. I will not be back...Ever!

Waited over an hour with only a few people waiting on a week day. Passed over because one stylist insisted that another person will go first that arrived after us. Very poor service.

What is the point of having an appointment. No one acknowledged me and my son when we arrived. Waited at check-in podium and after a while sat down. Waited longer..... Asked if anyone was available to check us in and was told someone would be right with us. Poor customer service!
