I bought my puppy Malakai to get groomed because he was almost one year old and had never been groomed. He’s a beefy guy - a pittie weighing about 90 pounds, but friendly and mostly easy to handle. When I went to pick him up, the person who groomed him, told me that he was well behaved but barked at other people and dogs when they walked by.. then tried to sell me a training package because he was acting out of instinct in a new environment. I also noticed that when I got him back, not all of his nails were trimmed... Very subpar and I wasn’t very impressed.. and I definitely think I would have been better off bringing him to a small groomer, don’t think I will be back here.

Courtney, Finnegans groomer is amazing. Plus all the people that greet you when you first walk in AND the staff that checks Finn in and out. We LOVE going and always happy with the services ☺

I adopted my kitten here about a month ago. Employees were kind and understanding, and the adoption process itself was streamlined well. You can tell that the employees genuinely care about the well-being of your animals. I have brought my kitten in a handful of times to shop and we have always had an excellent experience here!

I have two dogs and Ally was great! She got my GS trimmed the way I wanted, but even was patient and got 3 of my boxer mix nails done of which normally he won’t let anyone touch. Eventually for the saftey of everyone they had to stop, but I really appreciated her and the other co-worker who helped them keep Harley calm until it eventually he got out of control and it was unsafe to continue.

Great experience I brought my cat in for a nail trimming. I had a appt. showed up early they got her in and done before I could go out and pay and make it back. Very courteous employees, pleasant to do business with. I will definitely be back!!

The employees were super nice, dont get me wrong. They told me the best options for my new hamster when it came to his cage, but they werent really informative about the supplies for him.I got the worse kind of bedding for my hamster (pine shavings) after being told its my preference when it comes to choosing the bedding. I now know Aspen is best for them. Pine can give hamsters respiratory and liver diseases.Its partially my bad for not researching before buying, but I also was planning on just looking, not buying. I just fell inlove with Chonkers and had to get him right away.I just want to make sure that the employees are a little more informed for the next time someone asks about which bedding is best for the hamsters. Shouldnt have anything to do with my preference, but for the health and preference of the fur babies.Will still shop here.

My family and I have never been so disrespected by a group of “customer service” employees.On 07/13 our family started searching for a new kitten. This was a big deal because our first family cat, a cat that our family loved dearly, recently passed away unexpectedly.After a day of searching we finally found a perfect match at the Forest Lake Pet Smart.At approximately 750pm we informed a employee we were ready to start the adoption process. At 759pm an employee met us by the kittens, went to get the paperwork, and then returned and told us we could not adopt because the manager would not let her proceed as the store was closing at 9pm.We pleaded to the manager to let us adopt but he refused “because they didn’t have time”. He said he would hold the cat until the next day.The next morning, 7/14, my young children woke up extremely excited to get their new kitten. As a family we spent a couple hours preparing our home for our new family member.We returned to the store at 11:30am and informed an employee we were ready to adopt, and then had our harts broken.The employees stated another family had started the process to adopt the kitten.We pleaded our case, and spoke to an “assist store lead”. She was extremely rude and tried to blame us for not sticking around to provide our information the night before, and not showing up early enough in the day…….we would of happily provided our info if requested and shown up earlier in the day.She went on to make multiple condescending remarks and even laughed at as at one point.As my wife, crying and heartbroken, began to walk out of the store the store lead, in a loud, condescending, and sarcastic voice, told my wife to “have a great day”…….way to add insult to injury.I am absolutely stunned by this women’s lack of compassion and or any sort of respect for her customers.Good job making promises to your customers and then blaming them because you didn’t keep them.IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION, DO NOT GIVE THIS STIRE YOUR BUSINESS!!

The tropical fish always seem unhealthy and there are even dead fish in a lot of the tanks. They always seem to be out of stock on quite a few items. Service is usually good and the staff is as helpful as possible.

If you’re looking for the absolute worst customer service experience of your life - look NO FURTHER! I found it for you.Last night my family went in & found a kitten we wanted to adopt. At 7:50, we asked for assistance. At 7:58, an employee came over to help. We pointed to the cat we wanted, she said okay, went in back and then came back out apologizing. According to her and her manager, adoptions cannot happen after 8pm. She then promised they would hold the cat overnight, and we could come back in the morning. She took the information card off the window, and assured me that the cat would be there tomorrow for us. I went over to the manager (who also is the store lead, Jayson Palmer) and explained our situation. We lost our cat of 9 years unexpectedly, and our children were having a hard time transitioning. We wanted to adopt this cat to ease the pain, I explained we had the cash, owned our home so we didn’t need any renters info & had a cage. He said he just couldn’t do it - it takes 30-45 minutes, they have a lot of stuff they need to do before they close the store and he just can’t help. He assured me that the cat would be there in the morning.This morning (11:40) we entered the store. Again ready, cash & kennel in hand. We tell the employee we’re here to adopt the cat we had put on hold - and she said someone would be over to help. Someone did come over and explain that another family came in 10 minutes before we got there and the cat is now on hold for them. WHAT?? We said what the hell, this cat was put on hold for us. She said they “usually don’t do overnight holds” and that “they only hold them for 1 hour”. Neither employee we talked to last night gave us this information, they said “tomorrow”. Not “within an hour of opening”. They also did not ask for our name or phone number. I said well why is your promise to this family greater than the one we were given last night? We’re here and completely ready, that family is not. The first employee I spoke to said she needed to go make some calls and would be back in a few moments.A few minutes later, the same employee walked out with someone in plain clothes who introduced herself as the second store lead. She was condescending from the start. Basically repeated everything the first woman told us. I asked “if the family is not here within 1 hour, then I can adopt the cat”. The first woman had said they left at 11:30, so they had until 12:30. It was 12:14, I said “okay, if I’m here at 12:30, and they are not - I can adopt the cat, correct?The “second store lead” says “not that’s not how this works”. Although the first employee had said that IS how it works, and the “second store lead” had ALSO said holds are only one hour. At this point I knew that customer service was not something they were interested in, and as long as the cat was going to a loving family instead of staying in these peoples hands - I could leave.

I love to go and look at the fish, cats, birds, and reptiles while Im there. But they have all of the animal supplies you need. Toys, clothes, treats, food, litter, leashes, collars, frozen rats, they even have dog training classes. Pets are also welcome to come shop with you.

I rarely leave reviews, but it is my sincerest hope this one is seen. My partner and I walked into Petsmart today, after having had a lovely experience with employees over a couple of days late last week. We purchased an aquarium and corresponding setup supplies (so much!), knowing we’d be back late in the week to pick out a few live fishies once the tank had begun cycling. We stopped in tonight, super eager & excited to pick out our community tank gals & guys. Then we met Mary. Full stop. Our request was simple: 3 male guppies (which we did pick out each individual specifically), 3 neon swordtails, 5 neon tetras, 5 black tetras, and 6 female guppies. Beyond the 3 neon swordtails & male guppies we’d chosen, she asked if we had specific individuals for the rest of our new family, and I said “no.” There I was, thinking we ought to trust the judgement of a gal who works at the store & apparently in the department we were in. Then, we got to the checkout line. I happened to take a look at all of our new lil’ fishies in the guppy bag and saw a female with clamped fins who was swimming a bit slower than the rest. AQUARIUM 101. You DO NOT choose the fish showing obvious signs of distress. We walked back into the aquarium section and what I saw should shock even the most steadfast of pet owners. She gruffly grabbed the bag, proceeded to jarringly unwrap it, placed it into a plastic bin, and asked me to point out the specific fish. I have NEVER seen a fish bag unwrapped with such force & vibration – those poor fish. For a moment, I thought I was nuts, because it took me a few seconds to find the fish again. But, after successfully pointing out to her which fish it was, she took some extremely unorthodox actions. I feel AWFUL for the poor fish under her care. She reached her hand into the bag, grabbed the fish by hand (hello slime coating…) and dumped it back into the tank. Then, she aggressively fished around for a new female guppy. All the while, we felt like the crooks for daring to call into question the judgement she displayed when choosing fish. I am seriously questioning ever coming into this store again. BAD NEWS, PETSMART.

They have a great selection of pet food, including healthier choices. The staff helped answer multiple questions about our new puppy and were very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Thanks!

The location is smaller but they are well-stocked with goods. Nice employees too.

The gals in the salon are top notch! Dynasty, and the others did an awesome job with my anxious dog. He was sitting in their lap waiting for me when I came to pick him up and he actually looked happy!

I am 100% impressed with our service tonight. I came in looking for puppy formula. They guided me to the aisle. Gave me advice on what formula. Showed me multiple products. I found a defective cat tower and spoke to a store employer on receiving a discount on it. He honored a discount for it and told me about signing up for their rewards program to receive an even larger discount. I not only saved so much money, they definitely won me over as a new customer! I cant wait to use my rewards and save more money there having 2 dogs, 4 newborn puppies and 3 cats. I recommend 100%! This is such a lovely addition to Forest Lake!

Great pet smart. Friendly people work here. They seem to take care of their animals well, theyre great at clipping my dogs nails and other animal care service. The only thing Im not a huge fan of is that their prices are a little steep on dog food/ cat food and such in comparison to some other stores.

Bought two fish one died 3 days later and infected our favorite fish which died too. Go to forest lake pets to buy your fish. They have a much better selection and know how to take care of the fish!

The associates were nice and helpful. They had everything we needed. The only thing that was a gross was the bathrooms. I had to go to the bathroom and the toilets were kind of nasty, to lift paper was on the floor, garbage can was full to the top, hair on the toilet seats. They need to keep up on the cleanliness in that area.

We normally buy all our feeders here and normally they are really good about making sure they have all the supplies we need however lately they never carry enough multiple times we have called and they say they have crickets in and when we get there they are sold out (we live 10 minutes away) we spend a lot of money here. Very upset with this and will be taking our business to some one who can actually keep there feeders in stock

It definitely has what you need. I am into fish aquariums. So they have it but most of the stuff is only one brand. No comparison shopping then and kind of forced to buy it in a pinch. So just would like to see more manufacturers offered per necessity.

Very helpful staff. Lots of great quality products with a very nice selection. I was looking for a jacket for my XL dog who was lost in -30° for several days. Now he needs some extra protection and I received help from the nicest salesperson. She went in back searching for sizes and anything to help. She helped my mom find the perfect gift her dog and just made our visit the best Ive experienced at any petsmart.

Went into pet smart for some bones and a brush for my dog; Whom started shedding a few weeks after adopting her. The brush I actually needed was no longer in stock, so I went with the next thing up to comb out shedding. I asked an employee at the register, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Plus, told me if the brush did not work, to just return it or exchange for a different one.Currently they are running a food drive for both humane societies located close to this store location. I bought a case of cat food for them. Its very unfortunate.

Love Petsmart!

Bought a plecostomus last weekend at this location. Within a couple of days, it died—but not before spreading a parasite to all the rest of the fish in our tank! We have already lost a couple of our big fish, and now my husband is having to do a rigorous medication administration in conjunction with emptying all of the water out of of 96 gallon tank TWICE a day until it clears up. I’m hoping that we don’t lose any more fish in the process, but right now it isn’t looking good.I will never purchase a fish from here again! Apparently too concerned about profits to make sure that their fish are actually healthy and well. We only went here because the local store we normally go to for our fish needs was closed on Sunday. BIG MISTAKE!

Convienent but low on inventory

This store is large and well stocked. There were cats to adopt and many pets for sale. I did not see any dogs for sale or adoption on this trip. The pet food selection seemed enormous. They have a salon within which was being used by some mastiffs and a standard poodle. Pretty neat place.

Had our small dog groomed. They were so very nice and did an excellent job. Liked setting up appt online making choices of extras. We appreciate the assessment report of our dogs hair and skin condition. Helpful :)

Brought two dogs in for nail trim, 1st one went good in & out in 5 minutes. 2nd one not so. I grab the 1st one ran to me car to put her in & came back. Gone maybe 30 to 40 seconds & the groomer was already out with 2nd dog. She said he was to anxious. So did she try for 10 seconds to calm him down. I seriously dont get it. I gave them a three stars for price & ease of making appt. I give the no stars for effort, or knowing how to deal with dogs. PS he sure was calm standing in line for 10 minutes waiting to pay. Lady just blew a $50 dollar tip.

I come to this location quite often. I buy toys, treats, leashes, collars, and use their grooming and training services. I have always had amazing customer service here. When they clip my dogs nails they do it so nice and quick. There is always someone helping me. The guy manager I see from time to time is by far excellent! I have a current training issue with my one dog, I called and spoke to sarah who gave me amazing advice and is helping me out with a solution. This store is amazing and i hope it continues to do so!

The fish were dead in multiple tanks looked as if some pumps were not working. Stagnating water. People were nice though.

They have just about everything you need for all kinds animals and pets. Nice selection of cat and dog toys. The selection of cat and dog food is vast and tons of choices. They also sell fish tanks and tank accessories. The staff is very helpful if you need help finding an item. The store was open until 9:00 pm on a friday which was nice.
