I dont even know where to start...The service was great from beginning to end! Josh is an amazing owner and stuck by his word with everything that needed to be done with my 2011 Chevy 2500 HD 6.6 Duramax. It ended up being a full engine rebuilt...top and bottom! The shop kept me well informed about everything that needed to be done, cost and time frame of repair needed. True 2 their word was done in the time they said and actually it was a day or two early! Cost was exactly what they quoted me...actually less. After that was done and I got the truck back I began to have issues with it so I brought it back to him free of charge and it ended up being break issues. I had to replace all the calipers, pads and rotors. Josh knowing Im a divorced dad with 3 kids...gave me the parts at cost and a deal on the labor due to spending so much on the rebuilt! They had this done in a day and on short notice. Again Josh and his shop are amazing! Even after all this I then found out that I had a coolant leak and he took my truck in multiple times to get that figured out and it ended up being a crack in the bottom of the overflow res. Josh replaced that at no cost to me as well. On top of that Josh had a rental vehicle he gave to me to use to get to and from work at no added cost when I needed to get the overflow fixed that day! I honestly cant express this enough...Josh and Cutting Edge are amazing! Very responsive! No surprises! Just good quality service and affordable work all around! I would highly recommend them to anyone if you live in the area! Josh and cutting edge are now going to be fixing a car for my daughter! I will continue to use them. I couldnt recommend these guys enough! I have a large fleet of vehicles requiring constant service. I have dealt with 100s of out repair shops in the twin cities and western Wisconsin, Cutting Edge is the ONLY one that I feel like bills me fairly.

He was able to work with me over a two week period wherein the warranty company wasnt approving a transfer case replacement - and he was patient with me throughout. Eventually, through our collaborative effort, Cutting Edge was able to do $3,000 in repairs for me and I couldnt be happier with the service I received!I will continue to bring my truck back to Cutting Edge after this experience, as I feel that they are extremely experienced mechanics and their staff is excellent.

We don’t have Bill Hewitt of powerstrokehelp.com in Minnesota, but we have Cutting Edge Auto. These guys are the best in this state period. When I’m too stupid or lazy (or both) to do the work myself, I know I can trust these guys. Look no further.

I took my 2015 Mercedes Sprinter van to Cutting Edge at the recommendation of another mechanic. They were able to get to the root cause of my issues and fix them with confidence. I brought my 2010 6.4 diesel to cutting edge fir a turbo actuator and the guys here are very knowledgeable and honest also they are very helpful I wont recommend cutting edge to anyone

First off all I would totally recommend cutting edge for any work they are honest and they keep you happy with any work they do I recently took my excursion to get a full bulletproof job cause I was taking it to a trip to the west coast and sure I did with zero problems or funny noises the engine delivered how it supposed to thank you guys and definitely be coming back with other projects

Cutting Edge is terrific, brought in my 2011 2500 diesel to them after another shop swapped my turbo and messed up the actuator and every thing else! After what I saw I brought it in to them and Josh told me it would be done next day. I was very surprised to hear that after I dealt with the other shop for two weeks to try figure out the problem (from ecu ECT....) Josh took it in and had it done in NO TIME!!!! And sure enough my truck was ready to work again!! Never using anyone else again besides them! Will recommend them to everyone in need of high quality and professionalism as far as mechanics and communication goes!!

This shop is busy for good reason.My BMW decided to throw a drive train malfunction error at me and go into limp mode three hours from home.Luckily I was able to get it to Cutting Edge.Josh was so kind and helpful. Although I had to wait two weeks for my truck to be checked out - non-diesel, non-commercial so that may have made a difference in availability - they were honest, straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable.When I showed up to finally drop it off very early on a Friday, their crew was already working on trucks and the place was moving liked a well oiled machine (no pun intended). Pick up later that day was the same - everyone was working on something.Diagnosis was spot on, estimates and options for repair were thorough, reasonable and unbiased - everything was done in half a day and the final bill was lower than expected even with choosing a higher quality part. This doesnt always happen and that shouldnt be expected, but it was a pleasant surprise.Trucks running great and if...err, when theres anything that comes up again, I know where Ill be bringing my truck.

Only people I have work on my 2005 Ford f350. They have done all the thing a 6.0 requires to keep it from destroying itself! Although it wasnt cheap it was less than most others I checked with. Also have performed all my routine maintenance. Havent had any problems with my truck since I found these guys. Professional, quality service.

My name is Dean and I own a 2008 F150. My truck just straight up shut down on my way to work. Fearing it to be a major repair I made some calls and this shop came very highly recommended by a number of people in the truck repair business. I can not say enough nice things about this shop and the owner / workers. They spent 20 minutes with me on the phone trying to help me diagnose my problem. The shop was very booked-up and busy but they said they would do everything they could to get me back on the road. They helped me arrange for a tow and were very honest and patient with me. They literally started to work on the truck as soon as it was delivered. They called me right away to let me know they had my truck and were on top of things. By the end of that day the shop had determined the problem and ordered parts to repair the truck. My truck was fixed the next day and it was back on the road. Cutting Edge has been top notch at diagnosing and repairing my 2004 6.0 Excursion. They bullet proofed my engine a couple years ago and just recently were able to diagnose a boost/acceleration problem that I was chasing. These guys know their stuff when it comes to 6.0 diesels. I have tried other shops for minor things, but anything major these are my guys. Could not be happier with their service and craftsmanship. If there were closer to my house I would use them for all my service. It is worth the wait. Call them!

Warning read this first. I have an 08 F350 6.4 I took to Ford to repair they said nothing was wrong no codes. I was sure there was something that was not right but they insisted it was just fine. After that I now call Ford mechanics code readers and thats it! I have been having this issue for 4 months nobody could figure out. The other day my cousin called and told me he was going to Forest Lake to get his truck fixed. For me that is a long drive at the least 45 min. He called me and said they were great and his truck issues were fixed, so I thought I would give them a try. Went up and heard right away yes we we can fix it. I heard that same comment at the last 3 shops, including Ford , 7500 dollars later. So, at this point I tell them go ahead and good luck. Amazingly 6 min go by and they found the problem. I could not believe it. My truck runs like a top and at a great price. I will be driving the extra mile from now on and living south of river its a little drive but well worth it! Thanks again!

Once again pull my fat out the fire. Had injector crack. The boys replaced all 8 injectors with O.E. parts for thousands cheaper than anyone else 2500.00 and had it back in 2days. The boys are craftsmen.Thanks guys. Joe Cameron

I took my 07 F250 into two other shops and they told me it could cost $3500-$4000. I drove it 3.5hours to this shop and a couple days later they called it was done and it cost under $800, That was 30k miles ago and i have had no problems!! Took our 2005 in a few months later and had the turbo serviced! We have had no trouble with either one since then!! Great people and service!! This is THE place to have your diesel truck worked on!!

If you own a diesel and need service or repair do not go anywhere else. They had my 6.0 powerstroke for a week checking daily on a no start. Told me everything checked out and it i had a bad glow plug. Charged me 50 bucks plus a tow for everything! Any other shop would try to charge 10 times that! Thanks guys and Im a customer for life!

I have a 2008 F350 6.4 powerstroke with a cracked up pipe. Curt and i talked about what else can be done while the cab is off and i decided to have a complete motor rebuild done as well. Curt gave me a estimate and time frame to have it all done.After inspection of my truck Curt let me know about several suspension issues as well and a new estimate. They got all of it done in the original amount of time with all the extra work and under the quoted estimate. I would like to thank Curt, Jory, Josh and Tom for their great work. I have a new place to go for My diesel and I would highly recommend them for your truck as well.

My truck started to run horrible on Monday evening well after normal business hours. On Tuesday morning I took it to another repair shop close to work and they charged me $55.00 to open the hood and realize they could not work on it. I then remembered an acquaintance told me about a diesel repair facility in Forest Lake. I Googled Diesel Repair Forest Lake, MN and Cutting Edge popped up. I called there and they asked me to bring it in that evening. After work I did just that. They coded it and told me my #4 injector had failed. They gave me options for the repair and I chose to replace them all on that side of the motor. They then told me they would try to get at it on Wednesday. I called them Wednesday afternoon and they told me the #6 injector was bad as well but it was already set to be replaced. Making sure everything was correct once the job was completed they found the FICM (fuel injection control module) was also failing and suggested I replace it. I did. What they said next totally surprised me. They said they would have the FICM there in 15-20 minutes and to come pick it up. They didnt even have it for 24 hours and they repaired everything that needed to be fixed. Bracing myself for the bill was the next surprise. What I expected was about $400.00 less than what I paid. The final piece of this story is the truck has great power and my fuel consumption has gone down. I know I will have to do the other side soon but there is no doubt in my mind I will take it back to Cutting Edge Diesel repair.

Cutting Edge has not only helped my son with his Ford 6.0, they went above and beyond to truly help us with putting a new engine in that truck and have become our life friends. Kurt and his employees care about people and are honest. It is hard to find people like them who you can trust. We work in ND and for two years the truck sat broke down bc we could not find anyone to be honest or take advantage of us. I sat in my parking lot and prayed that God would point us to the right place and help us and my son. This was an emotional journey. I promise. I looked online and Cutting Edge was the first company after two years of trying to find a place- I emailed them for my son. Explained what happened to the truck for the 40th time and assumed it would be the same old story. Your truck is ruined. You will need to sell it for parts. They said we can look at it and they sent a flat bed over to ND from MN to get it. By the Grace of God we made a friend and God also provided us with the money to pay for it. If you ever need someone to be honest and help with your vehicle call them. My sons truck looks so amazing. If you want to see before and after pics please email me and we will send them to you. The engine as my son would say is Bad A@& and he has taken it back over there two times for a lift and more work. Those guys know what they are doing and we are so blessed to have found them. Im from ohio and was traveling through Minnesota for work my 2004 dodge broke the flywheel I had it towed to a dealer in St Paul they wanted 2000 dollars to change the flywheel I herd about cutting edge from our tow truck driver so I called them I bought a high performance flywheel for $100 (dealership wanted 700 for oem) had it overnighted to cutting edge they got it at 930am and had it done and ready for me by 2pm all said in done for 825 and that includes the tow from the dealership to them good group of guys very knowledgeable of what they are doing Curt was a huge help they got me in fast and done thanks guys
