During my 23 years of life, this is by far the best haircut I’ve ever received. The ladies there were super nice, hospitable, and took their time in order to ensure the best quality and the best service. I’m not a Fernandina Beach local, but I come here quite often and I can tell you for a fact that this is the best barbershop on the island. Very cost efficient too! I recommend giving Speakeasy a try if you’re ever in town and you need a haircut!

First off Maribel is the best!Was on the island for vacation and my hair was in rough shape. I’m always nervous about trying new places but I saw this as I was walking by and decided to give it a try.I made an online appointment (highly suggested) for the next day.When you walk in you realize how small the place is and seems a bit dated and worn, however the skill of their employees makes up for it. Maribel did an excellent job with my hair and paid super close attention to my skin fade. Best one I have had in YEARS!Fair priced, comfortable setting, laid back, and super quick. If you’re in need for a trim on your trip, make this place your go to.

Second time coming here and walking away with a haircut I did not ask for or want. There is no Attention to detail. Will not be back. Hair trimmings on all the equipment and pomade containers. Equipment was not wiped down or cleaned between clients. Not what I expected at a local barber shop.

Best place for a cut on the island!

I went there close to closing and wasnt sure if they would have me last minute. But Maribel happily ushered me in and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was relaxing especially after a long at work. 6 stars!

My and my son came in there for a shave. Being this was his first time getting a shave ever, I thought what better experience could I give my son. Maribel took great care of us and made it a relaxing experience. Highly recommend!

Sonia and her team of 3 barbers give the most clean, professional cut within miles! The neck shave and warm towel finishes it off perfect. A perfect experience every time!!

Mrs. Chacon did the best job ever! My husband loved his fade and she was so personable it was ridiculous. She asked how his day was and how his family was and he ate it up! We will be returning for sure

Just moved here from Ohio. She only takes walk ins. I waited less than 5 minutes. I was treated to one of the best haircuts in my life. And my wife agreed! Fantastic skills. Pleasant. Efficient. And a phenomenal value.

Almost always a pretty long waiting list (the sign of a good barber in my opinion), but it is well worth the wait. I always wait for Sonia, so I tend to get skipped in line now and again, but she does the best low skin fade both on and off the island. Do yourself a favor and get your hair cut at Speakeasy - you won’t regret it.

I visited the shop for the first time recently. The nice blond lady welcomed me with professionalism. She listened to what I wanted to do with my hair & gave me an excellent cut. I will definitely be back to visit Speakeasy.

Stopped in for a cut at speakeasy today and was extremely impressed. Im from NYC and I know what a real mens barbershop is like, and this place is it. My razor fade was on point and flawless. There was no rush to finish my cut quickly when others walked in and prices were very reasonable for the attention to detail. Overall VERY impressed and this is my go to barbershop whenever Im near the Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island area. 5 stars!

Thank you for an unforgettable experience! No matter how long the wait is, you treat each cut with precision. This is the first place Ive found that doesnt rush when the line is quite literally out the door. You ladies also did wonderful with my son Vincent, he didnt bat an eye the entire time! So glad I tried them out. Sonia gave my pixie a nice trim. No wait since I went at lunch time. And it was affordable too. The barbershop is clean and has a fun retro feel.***Update: Still coming to see Sonia. We have a lot of fun playing with my pixie style. Highly recommend!

I want to tell you to stay away because theres always a line for Sonia, but I cant do it, wouldnt be fair. In all honesty, Sonia is a classically trained barber, and if you arent sure what that means, go in and have her give you a shave after your haircut. At that point you will understand the difference in a real barber and someone who can cut hair. Sonia only has one other barber working there. She hasnt cut my hair yet, but Im pretty sure she wouldnt be in Sonias place if she wasnt at least close to the same skill level. Sonias husband Luigi works at Electric Mermaid Tattoo Shop a few streets over and he is as talented an artist as she is. They are very kind and friendly people and I dread ever trying to find another barber of her skill level.

Wonderful personal service

I needed a haircut and beard trim for my vowel renewal tomorrow and they did not disappoint. For a walk in my wait was short. My barber was very nice and friendly and asked the right questions to insure I got what I wanted. She did a fantastic job. Ill be going back.

Great place to get your hair cut, full facial shave, beard trim...the works. I am very particular about haircuts and very critical of barbers that mess up. This place is great. Nice shop but did not cut what I asked for. Asked for front to be longer then rest of top of my head and she cut the front then I asked for more off of the rest of my head and she cut more off the front. Not coming back

Best barber shop in yulee/fern! I went there 30 min before close and they gave me the same treatment as if I got there at opening! The ladies were very professional and gave me more for my money than a typical salon would do. I highly recommend this place for all men. You wont be disappointed. It was 20 min past close and the lady was still going over my beard for the 5th time to make sure its perfect! I couldnt be happier and they gained a forever customer!
