Ward and crew dialed in the carbs on my tunnel ram, installed a new electric fan and did some other tweaks to help get me on the road. Super knowledgeable and Boonee at the front desk was great to deal with. Bottom line, I would use them again!

Not only were they pleasant and professional but our car was ready earlier than expected. Honest and straight forward... They were excellent at letting me know what to expect in terms of cost after the initial diagnostic. I will never take my vehicle elsewhere when it comes to mechanical issues.

I had my cadi stolen form my Excursion, I called this shop to see when they could get me in. To my surprise, Boonee told me I could have the tow truck company drop it off in the AM the next day! My husband had called a few places and was told dates that were between 7 days to 2 weeks before drop off. The communication about parts needed and time line was flawless. Boonee spoke to the insurance company and kept them in the loop. The entire process was great. Staff is very friendly, I would highly recommend them.

I trust this garage and all of its people 100% in the maintenance and repair of my Jeep. Some garages you take your car to and hope they can repair it...Performance Prep is a garage where you take your car and you know it will be repaired...properly, timely and reasonably priced. Very personable staff!

Performance Prep is the #1 place I will take my car. I have been 1,000% thrilled with the customer service and knowledge that they are equipped with. They are hard working, always work in a timely fashion, and are extremely communicative. I also love that they are a family business. I would absolutely recommend and hope they are around forever because I wouldnt trust anywhere else with my vehicle.

What a pleasant surprise! I expected good, very good actually. What I got was SUPERB diagnosis and treatment of a classic muscle car that has not been running right for some time. Expensive? What price is quality? Well worth it. I got the bad parts back with a detailed explanation of what was wrong and why, and Tom went over the list of things done. This is a great shop that treats you and your machine well. Yes, FIVE (5) stars! LOVED IT!!

These guys are a huge help for our trucks. I had a truck that I had sent out to about 10 shops that couldnt fix this issue. It was a ECM where the engine and transmission are in one unit. These guys found the correct software and fixed this issue in about a week. This truck sat for over a year without use, until Ward and his guys came thru for us. Thank you again, Bill

I have been going to Performance Prep for a years. There is a reason for that, they are outstanding. They have been taking outstanding care of my vehicles for years. They made it feel as if they had taken 100,000 miles off my truck. It ran better than it had in years. I had a small concern about factory OEM water pump parts that had been known to fail. Ward suggested an inexpensive modification to preclude future issues. It worked like a champ and I have had no problems since. They work hard to keep our vehicles running great and most important to me, reliable. I am very pleased with their knowledge, effort and service and can highly recommend them. Brad

Great family owned shop! Ward the owner was right on the mark, knowledgeable and honest work done in a professional manor. Diagnosed the issue, provided options and cost estimates. We have had the daughters car head replaced, a transmission in the wifes car and suspension work on mine.Always an honest assessment and good work!

My car broke down this morning at 8:30 am when I was down at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way with my daughter for a 3-day swim meet this July 28 weekend. I live in Bellingham, and I dont know any mechanic here in Federal Way. So, I Googled search and found Performance Prep. I talked to Ward. Hes professional and helpful. He even recommended the tow truck company to tow my car to his shop so that I didnt miss my daughters swim events. I was so worried that if my car was not fixed today Friday, I didnt know what to do since they would be closed for Saturday and Sunday. Ward pushed it through and got my car fix by 2 pm. When I told him I could not walk to his shop (its about 2 miles). He even offered his mechanic Kevin to drive my car to the Aquatic Center to pick me up. My repair bill was very reasonable. He did not up sell me for things were not needed. Ward and Kevin were awesome. I could have given them a six-star review if its available.

I used to really love this shop, Ward used to be great, hes done work on my truck in the past. The time came that I needed to get a bit of an overhaul/ rebuild done on my truck, I called and talked to him, told him what I needed done, and he said hed call me in a few days. Well, I waited about a week and half, no call back. So I called to try and get an update, still no news and he says hell call me in a couple weeks to let me know what was going on. Its been about two plus months, still no call back. I ended up finding someone who is more knowledgeable about carburetors and I couldnt be happier that I found a master mechanic to do my overhaul for about $,8000.

Came to visit my daughter in Tacoma, had previously seen the dealership i bought my car from in Oregon who had provided me with a estimate of a lot of work needed to be done totaling around $4500. My son in law told me he would take my car to his mechanic and get a second opinion. So he took my car to performance prep for the second opinion. After checking out my car the mechanic told me that my car did not need all that work. Got all my maintenance and repairs done for about $1500. saved this old grandma a lot of money!I highly recommend this shop they are honest and do excellent work.

Had a somewhat unfortunate experience here. I am giving them two stars instead of one because they did attempt to resolve it, but still were not on the level I would expect a shop to be considering the amount of money I paid them. I will not return for any work and would not recommend it for anyone else.

Came in here for a simple plug-and-play led signal bulb w/ resistor. I couldnt do it myself because I needed to know which wiring was the ground and which was the signal bulb and because I lacked a voltmeter. I waited an hour and a half for them to bring my car back, unchanged. Then, they had the audacity to charge me for nothing done to my vehicle (total came out to 108$). If the mechanic did not know what he was doing or how to do it, he shouldve brought the car back out immediately, instead of trying other various methods such as adding two resistors, which is totally unnecessary. Would not recommend at all.Edit:I went to another location, took an hour to install but failed. Did not take a cent from me, so I tipped the mechanic 40$ for his troubles. Now, thats what I would call service.

P Gibson8 months ago-Within 2 months, my sons Nissan was running worse than before I brought it in. I made 1 call to discuss this with Performance Prep and was not encouraged to bring the car back. I also reported smelling gas again, and nothing was offered to help. I unfortunately didnt assert myself, and gave up. The car was running poorly, yet my son needed the car. Finally I had to do something as it was missing so bad, I decided to undertake the repair myself. I ordered 6 new 270cc injectors, new connectors, and a plenum gasket along with 6 pre-cut 9mm (5/16) hose material from Z1 motorsports. I removed the plenum, replaced the injectors, replaced the fuel hoses, and reinstalled the plenum. I documented the repair. The car now runs beautifully, just like a new car. Taking off the plenum, replacing the injectors and hoses is a big job. An honest mechanic will tell you. It can be seen that changing the injectors on these cars can only be done with the plenum removed. The fuel hoses can only be replaced with the plenum removed. Performance Prep didnt remove the plenum, but claimed to have installed new BOSCH INJECTORS. I HAVE THESE INJECTORS. THEY ARE NOT BOSCH INJECTORS. THEY ARE THE OLD ORIGINALS. PERFORMANCE PREP CHARGED ME $2,300.00. FOR A JOB THAT THEY DID NOT DO. I REALIZE I HAVE LET TOO MUCH TIME GO BY BUT THIS HAS BOTHERED ME FOR SO LONG THAT I FINALLY HAD TO SPEAK OUT1

Went there with my husband about a year ago to repair a small crack in the frame near the gear box. I had been there once before. While my husband was dropping off his car, the owner told him that he thought I was a spoiled brat because my car was paid for in full. (Mind you, I paid for my car in full. Both of my cars, actually. Me. I paid for them. Not sure how that makes me spoiled or why he thought he could have an opinion like that.)Within two days after taking it there, our steering fluid began leaking everywhere. Feeling suspicious, we called another state certified mechanic who told us that this sort of leak is common when the gear box is not removed during welding near the site. We took it back up to Performance Prep and asked them to assess it because we believed there was an accident during our first repair. We were very kind and cordial- not accusatory at all. We really did believe there had just been an accident. They argued with us incessantly about the damage for a few days via phone. The man who did the repairs at one point apologetically said Oh gosh, Im sorry, I dont know how we managed to do that. When we took it up to get the leak fixed, the owner told me that they were not taking responsibility for the damage and that our vehicle was very old and that the damage couldve been caused by an accident. (Vehicle is 2004 and was in one accident in 2005- has driven over 100,000 miles since then with no problems.)We finally agreed to just pay for it, since we needed our vehicle by the following day. They told me it was very simple to repair the leak and would only take a few minutes. When I asked if I could watch the repair be completed, the OWNER of this place stood up, aggressively walked to me, and yelled in my face HONEY, IF HE WANTED AN AUDIENCE, HE WOULDVE BECOME A ROCKSTAR. SIT YOUR ASS DOWN.As a five-foot-nothing woman, I was extremely shocked that a grown man would talk to me that way, especially in a place of business and especially in front of my husband. It was a terrifying experience. After a few, very loud choice words (my father was a Marine Corps. Drill Instructor, so I dont take it too kindly when stupid people try to intimidate me), we walked out and never looked back.

Felt totally rip off. Said I had a wire harness problem, $700. When ask to see the old part, they couldnt find it.Came back and told Tom that my auto start wasnt working since the repair. He ask who installed it, I told him Car Toys. He said bring it in and he would cut it out and leave it on the front set.I dont know what has happen to this repair shop. I will not use them again.I have used them for many years. Had my daughter, mother in law and friends go there. Not anymore. The place is going down the hill. You can get in right away because there is no one getting work done there now. So sad to see this place go to the dogs.
