I love this place. I am not giving it 5 stars, because it is time to maintain everything, paint the building, remodel the hallways, the pool area, accessories, among others.

The place is really nice and the location is amazing! Staff has always been very kind but I know they are overcharging my roommate and I on utilities. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment here and your rent covers $50 worth of electric every month. My roommate and I have noticed that we have been overcharged $25 each the last two months and we were overcharged $30 each this month. That would mean that the two of us have been spending over $100 a month on electricity. We are very conservative and have been at the apartment less in the months where the amount has increased than we have been when it was cheaper. When I called to speak with someone about the issue they could not give any documentation proving this was the true amount that we went over. I just think there should be someway that I can look myself and be sure about the electricity charges.I do want to end on a positive note and add that the apartment does lots of giveaways and the maintenance is always quick to respond to any issues you have! Front desk employees are also very nice. They have a great gym and lots of different perks. Our apartment was very clean when we arrived and overall I have enjoyed living here. My only complaint would be the sketchy overcharges and that our balcony is still closed (but I believe the apartment complex has no control over this).

Living at The Cardinal was infuriating. There were ongoing issues throughout the entire year. Numerous incidents where the fire alarms would go off in the middle of the night, pipes busted and rooms flooded, the pool was closed majority of the summer due to dog hair in the drainage (disgusting), I had no access to my private balcony entire year living there because of poor structure, water damage in my room leaking from the floor above that was never fixed (God knows there’s probably mold in there now), and parking garage is a nightmare. After moving out, I was charged with a cleaning fee of $100. Which is outrageous when you consider I had left the place in better condition prior to what it was like when I moved in. On top of all this, my roommates and I have not received our security deposits back yet. I would not recommend living at The Cardinal to anyone.

Management and staff are very incompetent in this place. None of them seem to be in the same page, you would ask the same question to all of them and they will all give you different answers. This ended up causing me to lose 110$ due to their problem of not knowing their own policies. Paid 220$ yesterday for Parking fees for 3 months. One of them told me I could cancel this at anytime after the 3 months period ended. After signing the contract. Another employee told me that it was not possible for me to cancel this at any time, and that I would not get my money back. (That was minutes after paying this fee). Moral of the story, make sure you know what youre signing before this clowns take your money away for no reason. They do not know their own policies.

The Cardinal at West Center is a great place to live for University of Arkansas students. You can’t beat how close it is to campus, as well as as it’s price-per-value. The apartment staff are always very attentive and dedicated to making your stay as great as possible.

My daughters car got towed here the other day while she was there visiting her boyfriend who lives here even though the manager Lydia game me a visitor parking pass that was good until the next morning. When we went to talk to the front office, Lydia was a complete b!itch about it and basically told her that it was my fault and my problem. Her face looked as if she was annoyed and just unwilling to help. My daughters boyfriend has had problems with this manager, Lydia, before too. They should get rid of her after that encounter.Gave 2 stars only because they went down for a different issue and the front desk worker, I believe her name was trinity was incredibly nice and so willing to help them. She deserves a raise.

This is the worst place to live in specially if you are an international student! DO NOT LIVE HERE THEY TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU ONCE YOU MOVE OUT. I lived here for 3 years and moved apartments twice. They want to make me pay for absurd things they call DAMAGE! Carpets get dirty and its their job to hire someone to clean it after someone moves out and in the first place they dont give a nice and new carpet when you move in anyways! I dont know what they expect. The hallways were always dirty and my welcome mat was always stolen. They never clean the trash rooms. And so many other things to complain about!!

This has been a TERRIBLE place to live.I literally wish I had signed anywhere else. The management is not very polite, everything is constantly breaking, and don’t get me started on dealing with maintenance. Not to mention my apartment was FILTHY upon moving in. Nothing was cleaned. There was dog hair all over our carpets, furniture, and even stuck to the baseboard. Floors were sticky, and the cabinets had spaghetti noddles in them. I had to hire someone to come clean my unit upon move in. The parking garage is so narrow and small it’s awful driving up and down it, and people just fly right up the middle of it. Super scary just trying to park your car in your assigned spot. Don’t make the same mistake i did! Literally counting down the days until move out.

Honestly, I love living at the Cardinal. I had a maintenance request earlier this year, and someone came in and fixed it within 24 hours. The front desk is always occupied with employees who are happy to answer questions! It sometimes smells like weed in the hallways, but what can you expect living in an apartment full of college students? Its definitely not anything a candle or wall plug in freshener cant fix! Things never get so loud that you cant sleep! Generally people go out to parties at the frat houses or have smaller house parties, so its not that bad. Ive never not got sleep because it was too loud. The furniture, appliances, and overall setup of the place is super nice!! The hallways, workout facility, and everywhere else is always really clean and I constantly see maids/maintenance men around the complex. Id definitely recommend anyone living here. Its so convenient to everything!

Although the apartment complex is close to campus, I would say save your money and look elsewhere. Management here is awful. I’ve had packages get lost at the front desk, I had a key charge placed on my account and after two calls and multiple emails finally got someone to look at the form that management themselves signed off on saying I turned them in. Complex is often dirty after weekends. One time opened my door to dog poop in the hallway. There are much better deals out there for higher quality apartments.

I am very disappointed with the experience of living at this apartment. I should have seen it coming but it has been worse then I ever could have possibly imagined. I share a unit with 3 others and I have not had access to our balcony for most of the time we have been here since they have been locked since October and are still locked with no timeline on when they will be unlocked. One of the biggest issues I have with this is they have not been transparent at all with why the balconies are locked, and have not issued any kind of refund for not being able to use them. Every time I have had a problem and I bring it up with Cody, the person who manages this property, he just blames it on corporate and it is basically a dead end.Another major complaint is when I moved in the room was trashed and it looked like no one had even cleaned it at all despite them saying the rooms had to be cleaned before move in. Lastly, almost every month I’m charged with mysterious charges on my account and once when I asked one of the workers why that always happened they told me it was for “accounting purposes”, which seems a bit sketchy to me.I’m am sure there is many more sketchy stuff that goes on with the management of this apartment, but this was only a few of my complaints. I could not even recommend this apartment complex to my greatest enemy.P.S. If you are wondering why there is good reviews, i’ve added a photo of a giveaway they are doing just to get good reviews, this is the only way they are able to maintain a decent rating.

One of the worst apartment complexes you can live in. During covid they shut down all their amenities and got no compensation. They did not open the gym until two days before my lease ended in July and did not open the pool until after the lease was over, while most other complexes had one or both open in June and July. They gave my roommate and I two random roommates at the beginning of summer without telling either one of us these girls were moving in. Also if you come in as a group of two wanting to live in a four bedroom, dont because both times they paired us up with roommates it didnt end well, they dont look at your sheets that ask you if you party and stay up late. I dont recommend any of my friends to live here.

Moved in and all I can say is I am extremely disappointed. I chose Cardinal because of the location to campus and it looked nice and clean from all the pictures people had posted. It is more expensive than similar complexes due to the location which I can understand. After visiting friends apartments at OLDER apartment complexes it is clear that Cardinal does not care about the residents. When I moved in the unit was extremely dirty. I’ve deep cleaned the floors twice and there is still dirt and junk coming up. Carpets are even more gross than the living room floors. I’ve never been more embarrassed to show my parents ANYTHING. I 100% guarantee that the unit was not cleaned AT ALL before move in. My roommates and I did not have an early move in so there was ample time to make it nice and livable. There was TOOTHPASTE (not some leftover cleaner) in my sink!!! Not a big deal to clean but it is sad proof that our unit was untouched by anyone. To the students and parents reading this: DO NOT make the same mistake I did. LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!Update: We FINALLY have access to our balcony and they replaced my carpet after months of complaining. While this is awesome that’s where the good news stops. Management got so bad here that they brought in someone new! Like I said before. LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE! Do not be tempted by the great location and nice pictures. It’s not worth it. TRUST ME. If you want a full explanation find me on Instagram and I will gladly talk more.

I love living at the cardinal! You can’t live closer to campus. I’m only a five minute walk away from most of my classes. It’s so nice not to have to deal with looking for a parking spot. Fees on fees on fees. The management here is sub-par at best, with low communication and a history of overcharging students. I made the mistake of resigning my lease a year back, and decided I wanted to live elsewhere. Was unable to sublet without $350+ fee. Even when no ones directly using a room, youll still get hit with electrical overages every month. Nice. Wrote a detailed message to the management, and never even received a response. Even nicer. If youre new to the University and feel like your wallets a little too padded, this is the place for you.

I have lived at the Cardinal at West Center for a 1.5 years. The location is very convenient, and there are some great amenities like a computer lab with a printer, a roof deck with a nice view, FOB access to the building, good wifi that works most of the time and lots of free food. The maintenance is very helpful and will fix any apartment issues quickly. Management is friendly and responds to questions quickly. My main issues with the Cardinal is the lack of apartment storage space, the smallish size of the rooms, and the concrete floors (you have to pay extra to have hardwood floors). However, these issues aren’t hard to get used to. Overall, the Cardinal is a nice place for students to live and you can’t beat the location if you have classes on this side of campus.

Not an awful place to live. I expected the worst reading the reviews on here earlier but I think some people are just making angry reviews. I havent had any problems. With that being said, Im still moving into a different complex next year. Walking from The Cardinal to Bell Engineering looks like an easy walk on google maps but you have to walk up the Duncan Ave. hill, which just happens to be absolutely awful. If I could change one thing, Id try to get a bus stop for Razorback transit put in. That would make long walks through the rain a lot dryer.Edit:I sick and tired of being the bad guy for following the rules in the parking garage. Nobody realizes that you’re not supposed to piggyback through the gate and I get flipped off for making sure it doesn’t happen to me. Management can’t seem to let people know that it’s a problem.Edit 2:I am finished living here. I must say I am mad because I was just charged $4 to make a $3 payment. There wasnt a free payment option online. This is stupid. I get wanting to get back the money from processing fees but shouldnt the processing fee change based on how much I am paying?

This apartment complex is a glorified dorm. The rooms are cheaply put together - I could hear every step the people living above me took, and when they played loud music, our dishes rocked in the cabinets. If you have a room facing the pool area, dont count on getting ANY sleep if people are out there because the sound travels and echos. I left on multiple weekends to sleep somewhere else because of the noise. The maintenance people came as went as they pleased, with the only warning being an email saying people will be by today. I could have been in the shower when they knocked and not answered, and they would have walked right in. Doors to the outside were constantly broken, and more than once I found trash and throw up in the stairwell. About the only upside to this place was the SEC network included in the cable. The management is very unprofessional. My roommate and I cleared our stuff out in May - the lease didnt end until July, but we had to move. After we left, they moved someone else into our room without even telling us! No phone call, no email. I had to reach out to them to get any information. What were they gonna do, get double rent because they thought we were gone for good?! Completely unacceptable. They only barely agreed reimbursement to my roommate (because it was technically just her room, but they had stuff set up in mine too). I would never rent from this complex again!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I could always hear the people above me and beside me walking around and talking. The hallways would often have broken glass, liquid from trash waste or other things, and just down right disgusting. Parking was horrible. Someone scrapped my car and there was a non designated parking spot next to me that someone would always park in, making it difficult for me to get in and get out. My roommate and I asked the office to do something about it and they never did. The management is horrible. They were rude, unprofessional, and unorganized. During my one year lease, a pipe bursted causing my room to be flooded. Also during my lease, a fire started on my floor causing the sprinklers to go off. Who knows what toxins were released. Management did not handle this well at all so do yourself a favor and not live here. The only upside to this place is that it is close to campus and the maintenance request guy is fast.

For the most part, everything is as cheap as possible (there are no drawers in the bathroom). Wi-fi randomly cuts out or dips under 1Mbps, too slow to load a webpage. The parking garage is so narrow I scraped my car on the side trying to pass someone. While this is partially my fault, I see many other cars with similar damage as I walk through the parking garage. They use a pay system (PayLease) that charges you $35 if a payment is 5 days late and $5 every day after that. I got an email saying the transaction went through the day it was due, then one informing me that it was returned because my account had insufficient funds the day after it was late. I then had to pay the $35 fee for being late and $30 more dollars because the payment bounced. Not sure if they are purposely using a bad payment system or just naive.

The management assigned my daughter a unit that has been modified for ADA compliance. Because of the modifications it is missing certain amentities: missing two cabinets in the kitchen, no built in microwave, smaller closet, shower head mounted so low that she cant stand under it. While I certainly appreciate this complex having ADA compliant apartments, they should be reserved for those residents that require these modifications. Repeated calls to management and the corporate office has gotten us NOTHING. We have had to purchase additional furniture for storage and have other expenses associated with the reduced storage. We would have NEVER signed a lease here had we known we would be assigned this unit and now its too late to find another apartment. Management unwilling to compensate us in any way. Renters Beware.

We moved in as is yesterday and it was the worst experience of my entire life. They did not make sure that the pervious tenants cleaned ever. We walked in and the place was a dump. There was personal belongings left in several cabinets and the dishwasher (including food). There was meat remains in the refrigerator. Several dust and dirty areas. Oven had never been cleaned. Dried food remains underneath the refrigerator. What appeared to be spilled drinks that had never been cleaned up lined the floors. Tubs and toilets were unusable. All ceiling fans were discussing. Couch so lumpy you could visibly see the lumps. Stickers left on bedroom doors and refrigerator. Very few lightbulbs actually work in this place. All the doors were dirty and so were the walls. The carpets severally stained. I understand as is means it hasnt been professionally cleaned, but to my understanding it was still supposed to have been cleaned in the past year.... I am shocked there were not rodents living here. I am also pretty sure several health code violations were broken in this place. When I went downstairs to speak to the manager about how awful this place was, she wouldnt even speak to me. She had another member of the staff say that we could move out and move back in the 18th. Despite the letter they gave us in our move in folders the staff was not happy to help with any problems. I give management and staff a 0 in this place. I also have pictures of the way everything looked when we moved in and my parents are looking to take further action against this corporation. This was truly awful.
