Sylvan has been amazing for my son who struggles in math. He has been going for the last 4 months and he loves it… he says he learns better at sylvan than at school! He has enjoyed working with each teacher and I’m happy with his progress… I would recommend sylvan for any student!

I’m definitely satisfied with the assistance that the Sylvan teachers had given my child. They are very professional and are very clear with their program. I have never seen my son so excited going to a program. He looked forward to attending his sessions. I love this place. The assessment test at the beginning of joining Sylvan really helps to know at what level your kid is performing, and the whole program is arranged so that the kid can improve from the level he/ she is and advance in the subject matter. This program is to build a strong base for the kid so that they become more comfortable in the subject. The teachers work really well with the kids to ensure they understand the basics of the topic before they move on to the next. My kid really looks forward to Sylvan class and is always so excited to go and learn new things. I will definitely recommend Sylvan learning of Fairfield to all parents. Thank you.

In the 6 or so weeks my 8-year old son has attended Sylvan, Ive already seen improvements in his confidence, spelling and the ability to try. During independent work time, he is able to spell more words correctly and has started to complete his work on time. He is excited to go to Sylvan everyday and the team has just been a blessing to our entire family. My 12-year old daughter has been attending Sylvan for about three weeks and seems to be enjoying it as well. I think it might be too soon to assess the impact, but I have no doubt it will be positive as well. I can share that Melissa, Director of Education, contacted me earlier this week to share feedback from the teachers. When I relayed this information to my daughter, she lit up like a Christmas tree, which I believe had a positive impact on her confidence. To hear that she performed excellent during 1:1 work was encouraging and will empower her as she is struggling to perform just as well asynchronously. As a tween, this is an incredibly important time to build confidence, so this was huge for all of us. Both of my children have shared that it does not quite feel like work, which is awesome especially during distance learning as we do not want to overwhelm our children, yet we need to fill in the gaps theyve missed immediately. With the pandemic my son was left to learn without having a face to face teacher. I decided to try Sylvan Learning and he’s learning so much! The staff is great and very helpful and I can’t thank them enough!!

Having my son work with slyvan has been a great pleasure! My son had nothing but great things to say about his teacher. He said she was encouraging and explained things to him in a clearer manner so that he could grasp the concepts. He looked forward to working with her every week!!!They were able to work with him and catch him up on skills that he was lacking and give him the confidence to tackle the math problems.My favorite part was when they would set up assessments appointments with an assessment report that tracked skills he completed, and showed his progress as well as skills he was currently working on. As he transitions into taking college courses while completing his senior year, we intend to use them to further any support he needs.I highly recommend them for both younger and older students for one on one support where needed.

Two of my grand-sons were having problems reading and were struggling to keep up with school work. We decided to send them to Sylvan Learning Center in Fairfield. They were always excited about attending and looked forward to the days that they went to Sylvan. I’m happy to say that they are both doing very well in school now because of the skills they learned at Sylvan. They both have great attitudes toward learning and have excellent grades.We now have a grand-daughter that is behind in reading and having a hard time especially during these times due to the Covid Pandemic. She just started attending Sylvan and like the boys she is excited about attending and looks forward to going. We can already see her attitude and confidence improving. We look forward to another child developing the skills needed to be successful in school. The staff at Sylvan is courteous and professional.

I had the opportunity to work at this Sylvan center and work with the amazing teachers and staff that really helped me in my journey in becoming a full-time educator. As I am currently in my graduate program, there is not a day that goes by where I dont think about my experience as an instructor there. This experience really made me understand the grand benefits (short and long term) in making education more accessible, equitable, and enjoyable. These lessons were the foundational pieces in my own personal mission of becoming a classroom teacher and I can not thank Sylvan and the team enough. I had so much support and guidance throughout the duration of my time there, which then allowed me to perform my best with the students. As an instructor at this center, I was able to work with students K-12. Whether it was early reading comprehension for TK/K or SAT/ACT prep for our ambitious high school students, it was such a joy to be working with some of the brightest minds and personalities that I know will go on to become successful and inspiring in their future endeavors. I enrolled my son during his summer break before entering 3rd grade as it was apparent that he was struggling with reading. He was extremely frustrated and lacked confidence. The Sylvan assessment highlighted that he was lacking some key skills needed to decode words and that he was reading at a first grade level.Its been about 2 months since we started Sylvan and Im incredibly impressed with the improvements in his reading skills as well as his confidence. Reading now has become something enjoyable for him which it was not in the past. Hes now able to decode large words easily and can focus on reading comprehension. Hes eager to come to every Sylvan session as he enjoys it very much. The environment is very positive and welcoming. Were so glad we enrolled our son and recommend it to all our friends and family.

My son really enjoys coming here and learning. He’s never been more excited to learn school work. He’s struggled in school for some time and right away I noticed his confidence boost when he started going to Sylvan. Everyone is so friendly and supportive here. Definitely one of the best choices we could’ve made for my son.

So far so good! My son seems to enjoy his math tutoring. However, every time my son attends he has a new tutor in small group sessions of 2 or 3 students, so I will have to see how that goes as far as continuity and learning, but for right now it is going great. Sylvan is a very warm and welcoming place to attend. I like that they are very responsive and set up regular progress meetings.

The Center Director is particularly at ease and invested in the process. Teachers are well prepared. The office is inviting, warm and there is expectancy that children will thrive.

I like how this place caters to each students individual needs. My son seems to be enjoying his reading tutoring sessions. My son has been going to Sylvan for almost a month now and I can see his progress not only in his schoolwork, but his attitude and opinion about school. We’re concentrating on reading and writing skills so I can only attest to that, but he’s very focused when he goes in and really like the tutors he’s worked with so far. I like the reward system they have set up because the prizes are actually appealing a seem worth it instead of some Cracker Jack box junk. The improvement in confidence alone in just a matter of weeks is really heartwarming. I’m glad we chose Sylvan. Plus, totally convenient location!

My Grandson absolutely LOVES going to Sylvan. He was placed in Cave Language Academy and was struggling with learning skills in Spanish. In the classroom , all that was spoken was Spanish. I volunteered in his classroom and could see he was struggling. I wrote a letter to the district to have him evaluated for learning disabilities. Upon their evaluation it was determined that he was struggling with comprehending Spanish. We then decided to enroll him in St. Catherines of Siena. He had been tested to determine his placement and had failed all aspects of testing. I then suggested Sylvan to his parents to help tutor him to get him up to speed. We enrolled him and six weeks later he was tested again at St. Catherines and the same teacher was AMAZED at how much he had learned and caught up over the summer! He is now attending St. Catherines and is excelling and catches on quickly. If you are considering Sylvan for your child, I guarantee you wont be disappointed! They are AWESOME!

Great atmosphere and good people. Teachers all have a speacial structure set up for each child. Small groups so your child gets the educational attention they need. Has really helped my child make an amazing progress in much needed areas to catch her up to where her age group should be. Love the meetings so that we can see her progress and work out what is the next step to her success.

If your child needs tutoring, dont let any stigma stop you. My son will tell you how much this Sylvan location has helped him. Its never to late to get started and they can help with a variety of subjects, SAT and ACT. They have a flexible schedule and thrive on helping our kids succeed.

I’ve tried other learning centers and so far this is my favorite. The staff is very attentive and address any concerns I have happily. The program is effective and ensures your child has a solid grasp of the information before moving on. My daughter looks forward to coming to Sylvan. She is always happy after her sessions to tell me what she’s learned and show off her prize she’s earned in return. I highly recommend this center.

I think is too early for me to fully review Sylvan learning center in Fairfield at this time. My grandson has only been attending there for about a month. For now Ill give them a 5 star, the teaching methods are good and the teachers like to motivate the students.

Consider education as a daedal web of skills, all dependent on one another to be a healthy and coherent whole. In modern education, it is an unfortunate reality that children -- for one reason or another -- miss certain skills that become chronically problematic as kids progress through grade levels. Sylvan is a fantastic option to address some of these weak links between skills in the web, so to speak.The 3:1 student to teacher ratio provides many more opportunities to understand the needs of individual students and adapt lessons accordingly. The use of technology and data ordinarily absent in academic settings furthers the goal of individual curation. Having been a student at here in my own childhood, I am confident in recommending Sylvan as a tool for helping kids catch up to or go beyond their grade levels.

My experience at sylvan learning center was amazing. The teachers were helpful and I am learning a lot and having a better understanding of what my teachers are talking about in school.

I can not give a good or bad rating. I have heard some success through the Grapevine but the only knowledge that I truly have are from four separate parents over the years that asked me to tutor their children that originally spent a fortune here and did not get the results they needed.My gut feeling is that like with any school, teaching generally has a middle-of-the-road standard they attempt to teach to a group of students. It becomes difficult when some of those students are far-reaching from the majority of the class in some aspect from all the other students you have. When these students dont grasp what youre talking about you have to teach them on a one-to-one basis and in a very different manner that ends up costing more money and sometimes people dont have any other way of teaching/attacking/solving a reading, math, history or whatever it may be in a different mode.My gut tells me that if you have a child that is healthy and typically learns well in school but has fallen behind for some reason, they will likely do fine here. Its not cheap so make sure they pay attention and do what they are told! If your child falls out of the norm,... you may do better hiring a professional tutor/teacher/retired educator to work one on one with your child in a quiet setting. Each child is different.By student, by need! (A motto left behind by a person in our district. Ive lived this since 1980. :-) ( be it ESL, VERY ADHD, special needs in several areas, a drug baby that learns slower and differently, etc., ....(the very students I worked with))Good luck with your most precious gift. I hope this helps & at least gives you something to think about before going in. ALSO, observe! If they dont allow you to, I would be leery what they are teaching.

My son is attending Sylvan for Math as he was struggling and behind. Sylvan has boost up his confidence with the subject and he now says Math is his favorite class.

My children have been taking reading and writing classes for a year. They both progress beyond their grade levels and enjoy taking lessons.

Sylvan Learning Center of Fairfield, CA has been wonderful for my son. When he started there last year in January, he was reading at a 2nd grade level although he was in 4th grade at the time. He was missing his foundational blocks from 2nd grade. He has been attending sylvan for 1.5 years for about 4 hours on average a week. Now my son has completed 203 skills and jumped up almost 3 grade levels! Without sylvan I might be still be pulling my hair out trying to get him caught up. Oh and they also helpped him with his confidence. They have great incentive programs for the kids and make learning fun. Thank You to all the staff!!!

My child was failing in math. She couldn’t keep up with the concepts . Which was causing her to have extreme anxiety. However, after attending Sylvan, her math grade has greatly improved. She has better understanding of the concepts. And most importantly she doesn’t see herself as a failure. I highly recommend Sylvan. The teachers are professional and patient. It’s a great value!
