Working with College Docs took the stress out of the college transfer process for us as parents. They worked with our daughter, helping her to mold her essays to truly reflect her scholastic and vocational goals and interests, as well as her accomplishments. They were very responsive and provided feedback with very quick turnaround time. They understand what colleges are looking for and their critiques were on-point and direct.Of course the clearest measure of their helpfulness is our daughter’s success rate during the transfer process. She was accepted at seven of eight schools that she was applying to. Dr. Franklin was instrumental in fine-tuning my writing and listening to what I wanted to express in my graduate school entrance essay. She also helped me with understanding what requirements were needed to apply for graduate school and kept me to a timeline. Dr. Vicki Boudin guided us through the overwhelming college process for my daughter. As we initially had a late start, I wasn’t confident my daughter would be able to complete her applications and get accepted anywhere! However, she not only made it into 12 schools, she received the Provost Scholarship (the highest scholarship you can receive at her college)!! College Docs took the stress away by working with my daughter every step of the way to ensure her school selections, college essay, resume and application materials were done on a timely basis. She is soon planning for graduate school!We are now working with College Docs once again for my son. While I am much more informed this time around, it is still a very individualized process for every student. Last year I was unhappy at Connecticut College, a school that, although great for many, was not a good fit for me. I wanted to transfer and knew that I had to put a full effort into the round of transfer applications so that I could get it right the second time. With help from Dr. Vicki Boudin and Alex Racheotes, I can now happily say that I am attending Tufts University.Earlier this year, other transfer students and I had a discussion with the university’s transfer admissions staff. When one student asked them ‘Why us, why were we chosen out of everyone?’ the answer was resoundingly clear: that we all told them a story, and a compelling one at that. They told us that so much of a transfer application is based on the essay and supplements, that how you present yourself to the admissions staff and effectively communicate your reasons for transferring is the key component of the application.Vicki and Alex did precisely that- they allowed me to tell my story in the most compelling way. They helped me to recount my personal and academic growth in the main essay, and provided a much needed objective opinion about my writing which allowed me to see flaws that would have otherwise gone unchecked. I strongly believe that it was their critique and guidance that allowed me to gain admission to the majority of schools I applied to, and that I would not be where I am now without their help. College Docs helped me so much with the whole college process. I was able to manage my school work and applying for school. I learned how to prepare for an interview, how to write an excellent essay and meet all of my deadlines on time.
