I feel lucky to have discovered the Swiss Watch Workshop. The service was excellent, the appraisal informed and the repair work carried out as promised. All round, a pleasant experience and far better and more personal than using Omega who it transpires had fallen short on their last service of my Seamaster 300M.

I have just had my 1962 Rolex Air King restored by Ernest. An amazing job as can be seen by the before and after images below. The cost was very reasonable and the service professional.

Took my Tag Heuer Kirium Chronometer for a full service. Estimate revealed some parts needed replacing, I agreed to proceed.Watch was repaired & serviced within stated timescale, and on collection, as part of the job, bracelet and case had also been polished.In short, watch looks like new, now keeps excellent time and Im a very happy customer.I have no hesitation in highly recommending this business, Ill certainly never go elsewhere.

Highly recommended. Ernest took in and repaired my much loved Omega Seamaster Chronograph on which the crown would not screw closed. He spotted numerous other external flaws including severe stretching of the strap. Approx 1 week later he provided a detailed quote having conducted detailed examination of the internal workings. He had conducted all work within a month and returned all parts replaced, which was a significant amount, all for less than prices quoted by high street retailers that simply send the watch to a third party. He also provided fair advice, suggesting that the watch should be fine for another 6 years or so depending on use. His communication was excellent and service outstanding. He is strongly recommended over any high street retailer for Omega servicing and repairs.

My Tag Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 (automatic) is 6 1/2 years old and was in need of a service. I contacted Ernest who replied almost immediately with an initial quote. I dropped the watch off to him and, after inspecting it, he confirmed his pricing. I received the watch back today and I’m very impressed. It appears to be running beautifully and it looks great having been cleaned, and the scratches removed from the bracelet clasp. I’m very pleased as I think the pricing was reasonable and the service very professional. I’d far rather use an independent specialist like Ernest than a mainstream jewellers.

Sent my Omega Speedmaster in for repair and a service during lockdown. one of the side buttons had become detached and it was losing about 5 minutes each day. I Chose Swiss Watch Workshop due to the reviews I read online and I wasn’t disappointed.I spoke to Ernest by email beforehand and was given an indication of the cost, posted it in and received a quote and estimated timescale prior to any work being done. A few weeks later I received the message saying it was completed sooner than I was expecting.On return the watch looked brand new. I am completely over the moon about it. I realise that it was going to be fixed and serviced, but had no idea it was going to come back looking like the day I bought it.Can’t recommend Ernest and Swiss Watch Workshop enough.Dave

I had done plenty of research prior to taking my wifes Rolex to Ernest at Swiss Watch Workshop.The first thing that you are aware of is how much genuine interest and knowledge Ernest has.Everything is explained and there is no sense of being rushed or any pressure to commit.Apart from his obvious knowledge of all things watches he has a great personality and even showed me around the workshop when I visited.He repaired my wifes Rolex Datejust stating a wait of between 4-5 weeks.It was completed at 4 weeks and is back to perfect working order.Not only are the necessary repairs carried out it is cleaned and polished to a very high standard.We were so impressed I took my Rolex Milgauss for a long overdue service and it is back on my wrist today looking as good as new.I cannot recommend the service here enough....keep away from the High street Jewellers.

I had a Tag Heuer Aquaracer diamond watch serviced by Ernest also a new battery fitted.. I have just received it back, it looks stunning, all scratches have gone, it looks just like new. I was given a TAG Heuer watch for my 30th birthday over 25 years ago. I had it serviced fairly regularly until around 10 years ago when the screw in crown failed and I was quoted a ridiculous amount for the repair by another Exeter based watch shop. Having recently used the Swiss Watch Workshop to service a friends Omega Seamaster I was very impressed by Ernest’s customer service, pricing and encyclopaedic knowledge of watches. Therefore asked him to quote me for servicing and repairing my TAG. The cost was very reasonable and the watch was returned to me in immaculate condition within 10 days along with a bag of cogs, springs and seals that had been replaced. The 25 year old watch is now back on my wrist where it belongs! Ernest is a incredible guy and I would throughly recommend him to anyone.

Went there to get a battery fitted in my Omega seamaster. Once opened up he saw my battery had leaked . So he said he would try and clean it up to try and save me a big bill . Left watch with him for 30mins and went back . Was very impressed with the service he managed to sort it for me at a very good price will definitely use again .

I have recently had my Omega Seamaster Proffesional serviced by Ernest at Swiss Watch Workshop.He was courteous, professional and extremely knowledgable when we met at his workshop in Exeter.His invoice was received within a couple of days stating what work needed to be done, out with the service, and included costs of individual parts to be replaced .His timescale was spot on the 6 weeks estimate( even during the period of COVID lockdown) and my watch was despatched to me by registered post the following day after payment .I can thoroughly recommend him for any servicing and repair requirements, foe Omega products.

He found a couple of problems from previous services and called me up to discuss my options. His prices are reasonable for the amount of experience and attention to detail you get.I can not fault Ernest and will be driving up to Exeter in the new year with another watch, you can post them to him, but its so nice to talk face to face with him, he takes the time to talk about watches if you wish.As for the one star review left by a certain person who also recently did the same for a taxi company with no explanation at all, I would ignore the comment as the person declined Ernests offer to explain, and probably does not even own a watch.Kind regardsSteve

My Husband Michael brought his Brietling Colt into Ernests workshop for a much needed full overhaul. He said that Ernest was the ultimate combination of craftsman meets watch enthusiast. When he got his watch back the quality of the workmanship and the obvious pride Ernest had put into this job shone through as the watch came back looking like new.It was really good for him to have been able to talk this work through with Ernest rather than simply having to leave the watch in the hands of a multiple jeweller who would have simply passed the watch on to a Company repair shop. His office is not the easiest to find but the effort is well worthwhile.

Had my Omega Planet Ocean in for a full service, my 10 year old watch now looks brand new and is now keeping excellent time. Loved that I could pop into his work shop in Exeter have a chat and see the quality of his work. My watch has received a first class Omega recommended service by a fully accredited watch repairer. It is the nature of the beast with these high end watches that at sometime its going to need a service, the cost to me was prohibitive and my watch had been living in my bedside table for over a year. Ernest has brought it back to life at a price I could live with and I would have no hesitation in recommending his work shop.

Omega Planet ocean Service/repair hands not aligning issue,Ernest was contacted to see if he could service My Omega PO 8500 Movement after an issue appeared where the Minute and hour hands had lost alignment on the Hour, I dropped the watch to Ernest for an Estimate, once given he was asked to complete the Work, I collected the watch today and it is not only fixed ( a double cog with a spring was replaced along with all seals) The watch looks like Brand New, and I have a 12month guarantee all for a good price. I live in Budleigh Salterton and wear an Omega Seamaster which needed a service. I looked high and low but was not happy with off hand quotes I got from various jewellers or some obscure repairers who I was unable to meet or trust before handing over my cherished watch. I stumbled across the Swisswatchworkshop.co.uk on the internet which I found was in Exeter which is only about 30 minutes away. His qualifications were impressive and he seemed to have good experience. I called and spoke to Ernestas Varnagiris who owns the company and he is originally from Lithuania. I arranged to meet him at his workshop to discuss the watch and what he thought might need doing and also to see his setup and get to know him a little better. His workshop is in the top floor in a period office block in Southernhay a rather nice part of the City. The office and workshop is spotless and really well set up and equipped and it was obvious he knew his subject very well and I was very confident and happy my watch was in safe hands. Within 24 hrs Ernestas called me and told me everything that was wrong with the watch and confirmed a price which included a new mainspring and new reversing wheel (not that I really knew what that was!) I gave him the go ahead and he estimated it would be ready in 14 days. 9 days later he called to say the watch was ready to collect which I did the same day. The watch is like new and had been meticulously re-polished and he explained in detail what he had done. He also gave me a small bag of the old parts which he had replaced. I was really pleased with the speed and quality of his service. The charge was a pleasant surprise compared with prices indicated by others. I would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone who needs a good watch repairer. So if you have a watch and you are looking for a quality repair or service for a sensible price, by a top craftsman this is the chap to contact. Dont tell too many people though, I dont want him to get so busy he cant fit me in the next time I want to use him....!Edit
