Like this place. Just wish it wasnt so expensive to have my puppy checked out for an injury to his paw. But I also understand that they are a business that needs to make their profits as well. Just wish it was a little bit cheaper. But their prices are way better then other places I must say. For sure. And very kind and helpful staff. I highly recommend Parkway Pet Clinic to all animal owners in need of veterinary services.

This clinic is a total joke. Please don’t be impressed by their 4. something fake positive reviews on their website. I tell you that.I scheduled appointment about month ago to fix my kitten. She is a tiny 5 months old. Today her appointment was at 11:15am for drop off. I drove from Oceanside to Escondido for about 30 minutes one way and once I got there the drive threw staff said “ hi, just to let you know that we only have one doctor and other one called out, so we cannot take your pet today. Go home and reschedule” just like that right at front. I told her, well, I would have appreciated if someone called informing me that without have to drive that long for no reason. She said, “ sorry about that” I actually don’t need an apologies for careless staff/business. I wanted accountability for this type of action. Normally any business will call customers to reschedule inconvenience matters, but not driving all the way to hear that with indifferent “sorry”.My cat is very thin, and she was shaking from not eating 6 hours and not drinking water for about two hours. My cat was starving all the way home and had terrible experience for nothing. My personal experience was a total waste of time, stress and gas. I would not recommend this place ever to anyone.I would definitely go somewhere which now I prefer to pay more money knowing other vet and staff will take care of my cat.

We switched to them when our prior Vet office seemed to be costing an arm and a leg for everything - have been using them for several years now. Personnel, service and the level of care is excellent and they are extremely reasonably priced. Its not a fancy place, but is top notch for pet care (and this is something I would not scrimp on, as our dogs are family to us).

After working in a vet office myself for 5 years, I am very knowledgeable myself about vet procedures and what makes a good vet from a bad vet. They defiantly are a good vet and I would recommend them to anyone!! I have 7 cats and 2 dogs and I also rescue strays and place them in forever homes, I will always use Parkway pet for my babies :)

We had our 8 year old Lab/ Beagle mix in for a spray appointment. She developed complications from the surgery and had a bad bladder infection. When we went in again the doctor had told us her bladder is hard and she might have cancer. He suggested we do blood work when all we needed was antibiotics , 500$ later we left. She ended up only having a bladder infection. They also tried to charge us for an x-ray we didnt take and tried to get us to do bloodwork once again when we returned. I do NOT reccomend this vet to anyone. They will try to take advantage of you at any chance. They also sell prescription dog foods without issuing a prescription so that you have to come back and buy it from them.

Parkway clinic may have saved my dogs life at the moment. Lab results from the blood work that they took did not discover anything relevant. It is less than a year later that the same thing happened to our son Norman and he was diagnosed with renal failure (kidney failure). This is something that doesnt happen overnight, it is something that is a slow progression. The lab results from Parkway indicated nothing. He also has been diagnosed today with a heart murmur which is usually something that dogs are born with. Another medical diagnosis that they overlooked somehow.Like I said before, they did pump fluids through him and took blood work, but there were no findings. $1300 later, we still have our boy but the renal failure that he is experiencing today could have very well been prevented. We may lose our baby due to medical malpractice.Dont trust your buddy with this clinic.Today on Thanksgiving it is costing us $2300 to possibly save his life again. He is basically undertaking dialysis. His kidney levels were so high that the machine could not even record the numbers. If this doesnt work, the only other option is euthanasia. Like I said, a year ago we couldve started him on medication if this had been diagnosed. 😞😪 this is quite possibly the worst day of my entire life. Please pray for my baby Norman Francis Bridgman.

Woke up to my dog sneezing blood out of one of his nostrils. Unsure of the cause (foreign object ?), we decided to take him to here (he was seen here before for a previous issue, and we were pleased with the service). Luckily, the clinic was able to see him the same day. After checking him, there was no foreign body in his nostril, but they did discovery that he had a cracked tooth (certainly would never have thought of that!), and apparently that tooth is what was causing his nostril problem. They extracted the tooth, and took good care of him. The next day, we could tell a difference (no more sneezing blood!). Thanks again!

Extremely professional, yet very friendly. My 8 year old boxer had a torn ACL. Scheduled it at the clinic with the specialist and couldnt be happier with the long term prognosis. Doggy is doing well, probably more so after the cone comes off, but is walking on 3 legs soon to be all 4s. Dr. Henderson guided me through the process and follow-up and also got a call after the surgery from the specialist for post-op care. Not inexpensive, but feel it was necessary for my dogs health in the coming years. All the clinic staff was helpful. Highly recommend this clinic!

If you have an emergency, large or small, do not bring your pet here. Especially avoid coming in during the weekend. We brought our dog in on a Saturday with a minor emergency, as this clinic was the closest to us when we searched emergency vet on google. Unbeknownst to us they were having a spay and nueter clinic and were very busy. He was bleeding steadily but not heavily from his paw, and we were initially rushed into an empty room to be treated. An older gentleman came in and informed us he would be leaving but let us know what procedure would be done and that someone would be along to see us soon.Over the course of the next hour, several vet techs and one vet stopped in to apologize for the wait, promise someone would be along soon to help stop the bleeding/bring a sedative/bring pain relief. No one ever came with those things. OP A vet did come in because she had to see it for herself but did nothing about the bleeding. We waited in that room while our dog paced and bled for over an hour. The floor of the room was covered in bloodypaw prints, and I have photos. At one point he tried to lay down and exacerbated his injury, causing worse bleeding. I had to leave the room three times before someone finally came and took our dog in the back to be treated and shooed us away. When we came back for the recheck this morning, we waited for 30 minutes before being seen. I would not have come back, but this office makes you pay for the recheck visit when you pay for the initial treatment. I brought up the fact that we experienced terrible service, and was told by the older gentleman that it was essentially our fault for bringing our pet in on a Saturday. He informed us that after noon the clinic was only for spays and neuters, and we should have gone elsewhere. I asked why no one had suggested we go to another emergency vet when we came in and he had no answer other than they were busy.Perhaps this clinic should remove emergency from their services if they are not prepared to take on an emergency of any level during operating hours. I am shocked that no one came by with kwik stop or gauze to stop the bleeding while we waited.Im sure this is a lovely practice with caring techs on slow days, but we will not be bringing either of our dogs back here. I do not recommend this place.

Veterinary service is a relationship. I start with a reasonable price and see where it goes. That is how I started with Bill Henderson and Parkway Pet about 20 years ago. I have brought several dogs in over the years including a 3 year old Westie for knee surgery last week. People these days sweat over every detail of how they are talked to and was the floor waxed, but I am interested in honesty, sincerity and skill, followed by price (Im not crazy you know.) They do a great job. Decades of experience and the latest training are a good and reasonable combination. Practicality is important. So do they do the right thing for your dog and you? And whats the relationship like over time that counts... If you want to get ripped off go to a store chain or some other vets I have been to and see how inflated your bill can be for stupid barrier charges or padding. (Drake, for example, charged me for a tonopen test and x-rays on a dog with hypothermia, cheating me.) I have liked Parkway over the years and likely will for more to come, despite being a 30 minute drive to get there. These are people who do this because they want to. Thats worth going out of your way for.

I take all my pets to this clinic and have been for at least 10 years. When my dog got seriously sick, they believed it was an intestinal blockage, Dr. Tia Henderson took the time to weigh out the likelyhood of it being a block vs. an infection. She did everything they could to help us save money and we ended up gambling on doing surgery and unfortunately it was the rare intestinal infection. However, Parkway Pet Clinic and Tia made sure we understood the gamble and was kind enough to compensate us for our expensive risk. I cannot recommend a better hospital!

Hands down the best vet I have ever been to. They saved my dogs life. I cannot be more grateful to staff and Dr. Henderson. My schnouzer Willy got bit by a rattlesnake and we rushed him top Parkway Pet. I did not have my cell so I barged into the waiting room unexpectedly. Dr. Henderson dropped everything, took Willy to the back room and administered anti venom and fluids. He was unresponsive for a time but by the end of the day was in fair condition. They kept Willy for 3 days and literally brought hime back to life.I am so grateful and if I could give you 100 stars I would.

I took my 7 month old husky mix here about two weeks ago to get spayed and I will NOT recommend this place to anyone. The techs were extremely rude and kept calling my dog a boy even though I kept telling them she was a girl...they really did not care. They did a horrible job stitching her back up (it looked like they just rushed through it) and about a week later the stitches got infected. The cost of the antibiotics I have to get now equals the amount it would of cost to get her fixed at a legit vet. This place needs some quality control..do not make the mistake of compromising your babys health for the sake of saving a few bucks like I did, its just not worth it.

Nobody cked his gum or even touched him, I payed 56.00 dollars for nothing. If you didnt have time I wish they would of told me I wouldnt of wasted my time and my brothers who helped me get him in the car I wont ever go back. I want to start by saying that Dr Henderson is great! However, thanks to the horrible (HORRIBLE) experience that I received from Alia (I believe thats her name, thats what her shirt said) we will not be returning after my cats follow up appointment. In addition, I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. This goes down in history as the worst customer service experience I have ever had.I arrive to pick up my cat from surgery at 5:07 pm. Door is locked. I hear someone from inside tell, Use the side door! Okay. I walk all the way around the building and do not find another entrance aside from a white door facing the parking lot that says staff only. Is this the door she told me to go to? Seemed odd but I give it a little knock and open it slowly. There is a dog right on the other side of the door that tries to get out so I shut the door really quick. Then, a lady opens the door and says, can I help you? I respond with, Im sorry, someone told me to use a side door but this is the only door I could find. She then responds with, well what do you need. No question mark. A statement. I reply, Im here to pick up my cat. She then says, okay hold on. And shuts the door. Im left standing outside in the parking lot outside this plain white staff only door for around 5 minutes. Then she comes back, and Alejandro hands me my cat. Outside the door, in the parking lot. I take my cat and Im thinking, what the hell? Is this how they give me my cat? (Other vet clinics Ive been to first off let me come inside, then hand me my cat INSIDE, etc).So I ask Alia, what time do you guys close? I thought it was at 5:30. And she said, we normally do but today we decided to close early. But I had spoken to someone earlier and said I was on my way to get my cat. Now Im pissed. Between me walking around the building, having to wait outside, and her non friendly attitude (For the record Alejandro was very nice) I had to say something. I told her, this is not good customer service. In a very calm manner. And she literally responds with, well thats too bad.I proceed to tell her that she shouldnt treat customers this way and she said, well what do you want me to tell you She was just downright rude. She lets me in the side door so I could get my cats medicine and some paperwork. I asked her what her title was and she said manager. What?? What an embarrassment. I told her I am a manager too and you should never treat a customer this way and at this point she should apologize. She apologizes by telling me she just has a stressful job. I tell her, well you have to manage that stress. Etc, conversation goes on and I get my things and go.I dont care what kind of stressful day is going on, that is no excuse to treat someone that way. Be professional and handle it. Especially in the workplace. Especially. So anyway, I just wanted to share that experience and say, Dr Henderson you lost a patient because of your worker Alia.Oh and I was left in the back room for a while. There was a purse there, some medicines, tons of files, etc. Good thing Im an honest person.
