Dr. Was amazing but front office billing was substandard originally told us we would get a 10% Military discount and we showed acceptable proof according to the office. When it came to the final bill my wife was told that the discount was built into the bill. The office could not show proof of military discount. I called the office the next day to question the discount and was told we did not qualify because I was still not on active duty ( I’m medically retired 100% disabled). Attention All Military and Retired be vigilant of this scam/bate and switch from Animal Urgent Care in Escondido, Ca.

My dog and my family were treated horribly by Daniella. I am sharing my experience in the hopes that management will take a hard look at the way staff treat customers and change some policies. We were sent here by Valley Center Vet Clinic on an emergency basis. My dog had been bitten by a rattlesnake and the swelling had gone from 2 minor swollen toes to swelling up to her shoulder in the hour it took me to drive to VC Vet Clinic and then to Animal Urgent Care. VC Vet told us to go straight to the door at Animal Urgent Care. They will be waiting to take our dog in immediately. That was NOT the case at all.Daniella opened the door a crack, and told us to have a seat on the black wrought iron bench in the 90 degree sun on the tarmac (pictured below), fill out paperwork that was not there to fill out, and she will be with us later. My dog is dying and she wants us to sit in the sun and wait for what!? My dog is shaking from the pain, swelling up to her shoulder, and in severe distress.I told my son, who carried my dog from our vehicle to the door, to take the dog back to the air-conditioned truck and I will call him when they are ready. Daniella tells my son, NO! You sit there and wait. I told my son to go to the truck and turn on the air conditioning. Daniella got very angry and said, Fine, you can come in and fill out the paperwork.Daniella asks my son where the dogs leash is. Leash?!! My dog is in distress, cant walk, has a RATTLESNAKE BITE. She is not walking anywhere. She is dying, for crying out loud. Daniella tells us that she cannot be carried in. She must walk in on a leash. I told her my dog cannot move. She needs medical attention asap or she will die. Let my son carry her in. Daniella refused. She shut the door on us again, went and got a leash, put the leash on my dog, and said put her down and make her walk.My mind is just reeling now. I cannot believe what this person is saying. My son put the dog down, and my dog just sat there shaking and whining. Daniella proceeded to try to coax and then drag my dog by the leash through the door. it is our policy, she said. I am just stunned at what I am witnessing and by the absolute lack of compassion and lack of sense of urgency. That weekend, 2 people posted on the Nextdoor App about their dogs being rattlesnake bitten. One dog did not make it on the car ride to the vet in time, and Daniella is acting like we have all the time in the world. My (65lb) dog was not going anywhere of her own volition. I told my son to pick up the dog and asked Daniella to show us where the dog needs to go. I could not tolerate this abuse of my dog any longer. This was absolutely insane! This appeared to infuriate Daniella who was apparently bent on making this the most stressful horrible experience she could possibly manage. The abuse did not stop there though. After Dr. Kim examined my dog and presented the treatment plan, Daniella came in to get my signature authorizing treatment. I promptly signed everything to get things going, and Daniella proceeded with more punishment. We have to pay for the high end of costs on the treatment plan before they get started, as a deposit. Not the low end. She looked me straight in the eye and lied, that is the way it has always been done. We have been here 4 other times, and that was not the case. My dog needs treatment stat, so I paid it. Oh but that isnt enough for Daniella. She finishes the whole thing off with, Oh and if your dog doesnt make it, your deposit is nonrefundable and walks out the door. I cant believe how malicious this person is. Her words and actions are absolutely stunning. I would not expect it to be refundable. A service is being rendered. In what world would it be refundable? I am desperate to save my dog, and she is on a power trip over the suffering of others. The staff & doctors promise to call you at specific intervals & dont. When they answer the phones, they never give out their names. I hope to God I never have to come here again.

They don’t even deserve one star. If you want to save your animal choose another emergency vet. I called on Saturday because my dog was very sick. Wondering if she had eaten something in the yard. The snobby girl on the phone told me it was a 5 hr wait in my car with my dog. I said can you take my dog in , I’ll wait in the car. Nope very uncaring, reply was sign In but warning you it’s a 5 hr wait. Dog stays with you in the car.My dog died in 3 hrs. Not even sure what took her and guess I won’t ever know. Why do you go to an emergency vet? They blame being busy on Covid? Really? Then quit being cheap and hire more help if you can’t keep up. Hire better people to answer the phones to be a little more caring. We are heartbroken. Just warning people to think twice on this place.

They gave us the absolute best experience in the worst kind of situation. Our cat suddenly became very ill and they had to keep him overnight. They let us call to check in on him and never made it feel like an inconvenience to them. We ended up having to put him to sleep, but they let us take him home to get lots of love from his family before we brought him back in the next day. They never rushed us on any of the hard decisions and everyone had so much compassion for us and our kitty. It’s obviously never the place you want to have to visit, but they will always be my first choice in emergency situations for any future animals.

I couldnt be more happy than I am with the quality of service that the Animal Urgent Care gave to our Titus! Titus is 13 weeks old and chews and trys to eat everything and anything. Our poor pup out of the blew started to cry and we had no idea why. We drove straight over to the Animal Urgent Care for them to look at him for us. We were aware that it was a first come first come basis so it could take some time. They were able to get Titus evaluated within 90 mins. Our poop pup had eaten some wire and it was stuck in his tummy and intestines and it was very painful for him. They provided pain medication to ease his pain and to allow them to xray his tummy. Titus spent the night and was returned to us the following morning feeling 100% better. Both the night staff and the day staff were amazing and took such great care of Titus for us. They didnt overcharge us and actually refund part of our deposit as they didnt need to use all of it - thank you Doctors and Staff of the Escondido Animal Urgent Care.

Absolutely horrible service. Had attitude and offered no solutions. How are you Urgent Care when you have no sense of urgency? The receptionist said they were at capacity and that I couldn’t take in my dog. I would give no stars but that’s not an option. If you have an emergency I would suggest a different hospital/urgent care.

My 4weeks old puppy experienced milk aspiration over night, so I took him to nearest ED but their x-ray machine did not work. The ED vet told me to go to this animal UC. Yes, due to amid COVID pandemic, the staff told me to complete the intake form (I was informed that the ED vet had called and notified this facility regarding our arrival in advance though) and then waited another 15mins.The staff took my puppy to see the vet (female vet) who told me that my puppy had severe dehydration and fever, they would do x-ray, blood work etc (but never mentioned about iv fluid).10mins later I called the vet office to make sure they checked his blood sugar (my 4weeks old puppy had not been eating for a while due to sickness, so hypoglycemia was another concern on top of dehydration) and started iv fluid. One of the staff (nurse?) immediately told me that I was rude to ask the questions (they did not start anything yet...she was more concerned about my payment). I asked her to get the vet for my further questions. The vet was also cold and insensitive to my concerns. She even admitted not to discuss iv fluid so she was rather upset about my questions and then again she told me that I was rude and my poor puppy was brought back to me without further treatment.I had to find another urgent care in Oceanside and drove for 40mins....as soon as I got there, one of the staff took my puppy inside the facility and their vet called me that my puppy was not responsive....I begged her to save his life. The vet told me that they had already started STANDARD CARE (iv fluid, blood work...) without asking for payment. He was eventually transferred to animal hospital for admission....Now, my puppy is 6month old. He is strong, healthy, playful and happy.I just would like to share my horrible experience at this urgent care with you.Yes, it is convenient they are open 24/7, but if your dog/cat is very sick, this is not the place to go. This is not urgent care center, but convenient care center.

Excellent care, competentcy from Dr D Angelo and staff. Past nine or clock at night my lost cat was found with what I thought was a broken leg however it turned out to be a dislocated hip. Dr Dangelo and staff Took immediate ownership of the situation performed labs x-rays and IV and bandaged a wounded foot. The compassion empathy and care that my small cat received was outstanding.I am so grateful for the empathy and compassion and highest levels of competency that my cat received. Our second trip in a week for another kitty that refused to eat this time. Dr. Jean Kim empathetically compassionately and with supreme competence provided extraordinary care sending us home with three prescriptions. To my delight and amazement this morning the sick kitty was sitting on my pillow glaring at me because she was hungry. This urgent care hospital is comprised of extraordinary doctors and technicians that provide compassionate competent care to our fur babies. Had a really good experience with this animal hospital. My dog had a foxtail in his eye that we tried to remove but couldnt see if we got it out entirely. He didnt seem too bothered by it but we decided to err on the side of caution and take him in. From our first phone call, the team at AUC provided accurate time quotes which means a lot to me. We showed up and they were able to take him back on the shorter end of that time estimate. They had to sedate him, which I expected and we agreed to the cost. Turns out, the foxtail mustve worked its way out because they didnt see any remnants or irritation. They ended up refunding us part of our invoice because they didnt find anything, which was a nice honest move. In times like this, we couldve easily been taken advantage of, but the staff at AUC had the integrity and honesty to speak truthfully about our pets situation.I hope theres not a reason to have to come back here, but if something did arise, I feel like my pet is in good hands here.

If we could rate it zero or negative stars, we would. We came to them in a time of need to help our dog survive pneumonia, which we later found out was actually distemper. The hospital kept our dog over night only giving him antibiotics and water to keep him hydrated and charged us over 1000 dollars. We took him home that next day, and looking at the medication given to us that night they had the completely wrong clients medication both from two completely different dogs. However, being the closest animal hospital to us and still taking us over 30 minutes to get to, we took him back in 2 days when he only got worse developing tremors and neurological symptoms, they told us the best solution was to immediately euthanize him. They didn’t want to help him survive at all, all they cared about was getting their money. When we told them to do everything they could to save him, they responded once again with the only option being euthanasia. When we went back to visit our puppy, they offered a medication to reduce his brains swelling, why they didn’t just call us for permission when they knew it was an option is beyond me. They told us they could only keep him for two nights and on the second night called us saying that he was in cardiac arrest and that they needed permission from us to stop and let him die. No compassion was shown, and when we went to pick up our dog, they handed him to us in a trash bag, threw it on the ground and wouldn’t let us have him until our bill was paid.. once again over a thousand dollars.

I had to take my kitten here on labor day. She was off balance and not acting like her usual bouncy self. With Covid restrictions, you pull into a parking spot, fill out an intake form, call inside, and wait. Then, the staff will come out, verify your info, and have you wait until they can take your pet inside. Considering they were short staffed for the holiday, everything went pretty quickly. It turned out my kitten had a fever. So she was given fluids, anti nausea medicine, and antibiotics to take at home. The pricing was very reasonable. Shes already feeling much better thanks to the care she received.

I rushed my kitten to urgent care because she was stumbling and vomiting I knew this was the best option. Not only did they not try and save her until they had a deposit, once in there I was told nothing but she’s in “critical condition we don’t now what’s wrong.” So many credentials and degrees in a single room for simply sticking needles and issuing a breathing pump and a “uh she’s too small to tell what’s wrong.” I gave permission to put her to rest if she fell under cardiac arrest, IF AND ONLY IF she did. The second they heard “euthanize is approved” they stopped all they were doing to help and simply went for the shot.I was baffled, what happened to doing the most that you can until you simply cannot. I thought this team of medical professional would do all they can until her little body is simply unable to live. No, definitely not. Since it was assumed she was going to die they just made it quicker, but the slightest chance of survival and not giving up the second they got approval to help her go could have saved her.I strongly advise taking your pet to any other place that cares for the animal in need not the supply or time they are taking up. They are worth everything even if it hurts your wallet, if she would have not been able to push through I would be at ease with her passing BUT because she had no help to push through and was simply helped to die I am infuriated. Please remember why you went to school for animal care in the first place. It’s more than your paycheck, it’s families who love animals as much as yours; and trust their lives with you to do the right thing no matter if they can afford to do so or not or if they are taking up your time. No pitty response is needed just do better.

All communication with their staff was helpful, patient, friendly, and calming. It didn’t cost me an arm and a leg either, in fact it came out to about half of what I was expecting to pay. They clearly communicated what could be done without pressuring me into spending a lot of money. They even gave him a complementary nail trim when he was under. They take patients based on urgency and necessity so even if you get there first, your pet may not be seen for a few hours which is totally understandable. It says a Lot when my dog was happy going in and coming out of the vet!! I’m so glad I found this place.

We had to wait ~7 hours to get our cat back after being admitted (COVID has got things backed up), but they told me I was more than welcome to go home and theyd call me back when he was done and ready to be discharged. Cost was less than I had anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. When I would periodically call to check on how long it would be, they would repeat that they were taking emergencies first. How do you know that my dogs injuries are not an emergencyif you dont bother to look at her for hours? Also, after waiting for hours, they refused to let me use the restroom and claimed it was out of order. How do you work in a place that doesnt have a working bathroom? We only had two options, as the tumor had stretched the skin so much that it had split open. Removing a 1.5 lb tumor on a 14+ year old dog is not usually advised. Given our options, we decided on the surgery. It went perfectly and Bella has made a full recovery, thanks to Dr. DiLoreno. When she came back she said “as its been over 24 hrs since the accident...” i corrected her and said “no the injury occurred less than 12 hours ago” . The tech again became defensive and said i needed to let her finish. I explained i just wanted them to have the correct info- she called me rude and said she would not deal with me. My poor dog sitting and suffering in the back seat in pain and this woman couldn’t get past her ego and help. So we had to take a dog who has seizures here, she normally has 1-3 in a cluster about once a month. We have tried everything but cant find the right combination of meds yet. Well our dog started having her seizures only this time the cluster lasted all night, one after another after another. In the early morning hours we took her here, I was ready to have to make the dreaded decision my fiance was not however. So we entrusted our her to animal urgent care where she ended up staying the night. The vet informed us that they gave her a cluster buster IV and she still had a couple more seizures. They also gave her a medication that really helps most dogs with epilepsy called phenobarbital (which we tried giving her for a year and it was the worst year of our lives, not only did it not work it had opposite side effects than most dogs. She would pace and cry all night, as well as be STARVING all the time.) well that didnt work, and she guess what? She whined and cried all night, the vets thought quite literally she has fried some brain cells with all the seizures she had. So the next morning we went to visit our abbey girl and boy was she out of it between all the meds and seizures she could barely walk, but they allowed us to take her outside. We brought her some of her favorite treats and she wolfed them down, she was also trying to smell everything outside which us her, so we knew she was still there somewhat. We decided to take her home so she could smell her sister and other familiarities, the vet prescribed a few medications some follow up instructions and as well as recommendations and we went to pay. They were only $20 over their very very fair/affordable original estimate. Well now she is doing better than she had been in a long time and she still has what little brain cells she had (shes not the brightest dog, but we love her) thanks to animal urgent cares knowledge and care. Yhanks guys, God forbid we need to but we know where to go the next time we need emergency vet services.

I cant recommend Animal Urgent Care strongly enough. Thank you so much for taking such good care of all of us. I appreciate it!

Very happy with their service. Today, everything just started falling apart. Had to get my Corgi/Shepherd re-stapled at a different place because they were falling out and rotating into his cut. He was in the living room with his cone and I somehow realized his staples werent there anymore. I called Animal Urgent Care and they were so kind and thoughtful. Walk-ins are welcome and they treat every person and animal with such respect. I was extremely happy when they were able to take the staples out and fix him in less than 30 minutes. I was super happy when I saw the bill. I highly recommend them day or night. Very happy to know that my little Thor isnt having any staple pain.

Dr. Moscony was absolutely wonderful in examining Bradley and clearly explaining to us what he felt was going on. We left with a good understanding of his recommendations and next steps. He also had a very gentle touch with Bradley. The two technicians/office staff were also excellent and extremely efficient getting us checked in, into an exam room, and checked out. We can clearly see why our primary veterinarian recommends your clinic for emergencies, and we will be back should another emergency arise with Bradley,

Those of us who love our dogs are never happy to be in a situation where it is necessary to bring our dogs to a place where they need medical care, urgently.. The staff at this facility are aware of your anxiety and panic, and they know how to handle you and your pet. This is a class operation. It is modern, clean, and the doctors and the staff are professionals.I have had to take two of my dogs there on two separate occasions. One was for 14 years old dog who had reached the end of his life. I don’t have to tell anyone how tragic this situation is. He had to be hospitalized, and they did everything they could do, to save his life. While he was there, I received a call from the doctors twice a day, keeping me well informed. I was most impressed with the genuine compassion they extended. I was fully confident in their skills an knowledge. They are open 24/7. I have never had to wait for even one minute before my dogs were seen and evaluated.. I cannot imagine how they could improve, because everything about The Animal Urgent Care is perfect. They are not inexpensive, but they are competitive. But, I have always felt that it was worth every penny . You could go elsewhere and it would cost the same or even more, but the care would probably not be as high quality as it is at this hospital.I only write reviews for those businesses which provide the very best services and excel at what they do. Needless to say, I write very few reviews. When I was asked to leave a review by The Animal Urgent Care, I did not hesitate to do so. If you have a pet in a situation where they need medical care urgently, it is reassuring to know that there is a place where you can take pet and be confident that they will receive the best care available , delivered in a kind and compassionate manner. To the entire staff at Animal Urgent Care, please let me thank you for the services you provide.

For the record our dog was a rescue and has issues with other dogs. the vet today decided that todays visit should be about our dogs behavioral issues and not one word came out of her mouth without a condescending tone. actually suggested Prozac for our dog. a vet that cant handle sick and emotional dogs should reevaluate their occupation.I would like to suggest Prozac for the vet.not coming backnext time try some empathy.BTW : diagnosis kennel cough

Our 14 y.o. Eskimo started limping last night. We thought something was caught in one of his paws, but couldnt find anything. After sleeping all night in his cage, which we keep open in case he wants water, we awoke to find him unable/unwilling to stand up. He finally limped out and we could tell he was in pain. We got a recommendation from our Vet to use this clinic for an emergency and carried him to the car. They met us at our car and carried him in, put us in a private room and told us that he was being evaluated in the back. Shortly thereafter, we met Dr. Siebold and she did locate that his R. rear paw had a broken toe! We had imagined we were going to be told he needed hip surgery or worse! What a relief. The bill was less than my Vets exam cost and one fee for a non-steroidal medication. They could have done lots of tests and X-rays and did not. They are not for gauging anyone. I saw other animals that were treated with kindness and compassion, and the staff was professional and responsive.I would not hesitate to use these people in the future-true animal lovers and professional caregivers.

Its hard to even give a 1 star review, when the doctors missed diagnosed a black widow spider bite for a snake bite, even when the doctors said there was no visible evidence of a snake bite. This was in early October, 2017. They should know, snakes are not active that time of year. They continued to treat our dachshund for a rattlesnake bite, even when we called to inform them, when we found a nest of black widows where our dog was last seen . This urgent care facility will never see us again. I would not trust them to ever treat any of my pets, again, NEVER.9 hours later after bringing our beloved pup in, she died at 3:15am the next morning.

I have been bringing my fur kids to Dr. Seibold since she was in the little house across the street. In the 20 years or so I have been coming to her hospital, I always realize how grateful and lucky, blessed actually that we are to have her in Escondido of all places and that I know when I come running in with one of my babies that they are going to get the best possible care, no matter what the circumstances. This last experience with Frost was no exception. Every doctor was kind and patient and explained what was happening to her in a way that I could understand. I felt that Frosty was in very, very good hands. The techs, I cant say enough good things about them. The staff and vets at Animal Urgent Care did not only provide quality urgent care for our dog this summer, but did so with caring sensitivity in dealing with our stressed family members as we faced the difficult decisions before us regarding Lucky. They displayed competence, patience, humanity; neither sugar coated the situation nor were pushy about any treatments. Dr. Seibold was very helpful in discovering what the problem was and explaining what our options were. Lucky is doing *very* well now after being treated and cared for at Animal Urgent Care and given a long term prescription for his diagnosis. We feel very lucky ourselves to have more time with him. While somewhat high for our personal budget, quality medical care for uninsured pets with serious medical needs is never going to be cheap and it is totally worth it to have more (now healthy) time with our beloved companion! Thank you again so much!

The Veterinarians and Staff are incredible! Both of my dogs suffered gastro-intestinal issues after hours when my regular vet wasnt open. Dr. DiLorenzo assessed the situation and presented my options in a concise manner. One of our dogs had to stay the night to receive fluid through an IV while the other one came home to recover. The bill was reasonable (no excessive charges or tests) while still keeping the health of the dogs as foremost in our options. Two weeks after our visit, both dogs are back to normal. I hope we dont have another emergency but, if we do, I will definitely go to this facility.

I brought in a very sick puppy my mom bought and tried to rescue. We had her dewormed a few day before and for some reason the pup did not react so well. When we got her to the animal urgent care the puppy was clearly not going to make it. So we went ahead and came inside and so the nurses told us there was going to be a fee to see her and a fee for treatment after that. Well, me not being a vet or anything knew that the chances were very slim for her survival. But they went ahead and did their tests on a dying puppy and billed us for an amount of about $150 and they wanted to keep her over night for an addition fee of course. well we took her back and within 10 minutes of leaving the place the pup became deceased. The people there were very nice but a the same time deceiving us playing it like the pup had a chance. MY problem with this place is that they cannot keep it real. Instead of telling me:sir your does pup does not look very good and the chances of survival are nil, but if you would like to treat her it is up to you nothing like that was said but that we had to treat her if not she would die. OBVIOUSLY SHE WAS NOT GOING TO SURVIVE.

Then was put in a room for an hour waiting for the doctor and finally she arrived. But I saw her reaction when she saw my dog with full hate. To my perspective she did not even want to show up to work and very rude and didnt want to even touch my dog to see if he showed any physical symptoms. And she left as quick as she could. And there I was another hour and a half, in till i decided to leave and the nurse told me to wait another 30 mins but I said no you people take forever and then thats when she said oh silly me your dogs medicine is right here sorry and the total came out to be a couple hundred dollars.!!!!!! Ive read the other reviews and I completely concur with the naysayers. I found no empathy or compassion and only greed and condescension from the Vet as well as her male nurse. And the Dr. Claims that they are willing to entertain alternate financial options is a bold face lie.Last Friday my girlfriend called me when her dog, Viper, was bitten by a rattlesnake. I drove from Vista to Valley Center then back to Escondido after calling first. We arrived about 3.m. Our relief at finding a 24hour Animal Hospital was quickly overtaken by the cold and rude greeting. We were offered no assistance at getting the dog into the office from the car despite our request for help. Immediately the dog was whisked away into a room & I assumed that the vet was assessing the injuries. Not the case. They were waiting for financials and gave an estimate of $3000 which they required in full to treat Viper. My friend is married to a prominent SanPasqual tribe member and could easily afford the fee but had forgotten her purse in the commotion. The office suggested she apply via phone for line of credit, which she attempted but was denied without pertinent information she didnt have memorized and without her husband physically in the office for approval. She offered payments and $1000 (that we would have to drive back to Valley Center to get & come back) but that was unacceptable. Their only concern was money. When it was obvious there was no medical aid coming we decided to leave. Only Viper was held ransom for the $150 exam fee. Not only would they not release the dog to us, they put him in a metal kennel cage until we came back with cash. Rattlesnake anti-venom used to come in first aid kits a few years back and now it costs over $600? Here it does. I had to get back to my family that morning but my friend made it back, paid the exam fee and took Viper home where he succumbed to his injuries within hours. Money is all this vet cares about. Its a terrible feeling to encounter but I suppose my expectation of a vet actually caring about animals is unrealistic. At this hospital it is not the love of animals that drives them its just the exorbitant charges they demand you pay up front before they will treat your pet. Cold and rude. Beyond condescending-cold hearted. Zero stars.

The well being of your animal comes SECOND to a profit at this business. Money comes first. Im not saying that its wrong, but those are the facts. My dog was is in early labor. She was not distressed at all. The few contractions she did have just stopped, so I decided to take her in to be safe. Vet attempted to get me to approve a Cesarian procedure without administering Oxytocin or Calsorb first. I asked her to try Oxytocin and Calsorb. She left for 2 hours, came back and told me she administered the maximum amount and that if we wait to do a Cesarian any longer, I could lose most of the litter BUUUT they couldnt begin until they received the entirety of the estimate up front ($2000). I had trouble producing that much bread on short notice, but we did it. Everyone was born happy and healthy. They even gave me back $60 because the actual total was less than the estimate. Her recovery, and the pups health and development went very well.
