This is by far the most professional and complete automotive service I have experienced. The staff was polite and helpful on the phone. Their services was expert, efficient and very fairly priced. They not only delivered my car to my home but they also left an air freshener on my rear view. Excellence in service is in the small details. I will not take my car elsewhere.

I took my 2018 Kia Forte for a second opinion just to be safe after having damages fixed from another auto service place and they did a wonderful job so no further damages were found.I also went ahead and scheduled for tires and alignment which Harrell Automotive made sure to schedule at my convenience between work hours & finances. Made a appointment laying in bed night before online for first thing in the morning (yes i was that customer unfortunately) I showed up at my appointment and they took great care of me. I was leaving my car all day since I work near by…such nice people, very good pricing, they took very good of me. Kept me in the loop of things my car had coming up for mileage. Do not take older rides to this place. I had brought my car to this place for the SAME problem each time. An electrical problem. Each time a different person worked on it and said they fixed it. Well obviously not if I have to keep bringing it back. Each time it costed more and more and to this day the problem continues to get worse. I had gone to this place ever since I had gotten my car 6 years ago and it wasnt until recently when I started not to trust them. Now I am going to have to pay even more for the problems they caused to my car. Avoid this place if its an electrical issue.

If you need a mechanic that you can trust to perform your work quickly and competently, here is where you want to go. They have serviced my Equinox, Corvette, and 40 foot motorhome. Never overselling. When they tell me I need something, I trust that I really need it. They care.

First time here. My wheel bearing was shot and they fixed it the same day. I didnt have an appointment. Absolutely the best experience getting auto work done ever. I needed help paying and they went above and beyond to make sure my car was safe to drive. They are extremely efficient, honest and have a really nice lounge area too. Definitely recommend!!

I brought my truck in to get state inspected and was made aware that it needed quite a bit of work and parts to make it happen. So, I live in Missouri, but once a semester, I visit my girlfriend for a week who lives in Erie. I just had had my mustangs AC compressor replaced before i went up to Erie. The day before I was scheduled to come back home, 850+ miles from home, my compressor catches fire and melts my serpentine belt. Harrells went above and beyond in a way that Ive never seen from any mechanic to make sure that I was done right, fairly, and that I made it home on time. Everyone I talked to was super polite, on it, and ready to go. Mike even caught issues that my regular mechanic never even mentioned. Big issues, like my car wasnt holding oil and I was leaking power steering fluid. He did what was necessary to get me home safe, had it finished just in time, and even advised me on fair prices for the rest of it. The cherry on top, though, was that they popped in an air freshener and CLEANED AND VACUUMED MY CAR??? If I lived in the Erie area, they would be the ONLY ones touching my car. Honestly, I wish I could give this place a higher rating. Ive never had anyone work on my car and feel so sure that it was done right and feel so taken care of. Im at home laying in bed for the first time in a week, safe and sound, and it is soley thanks to Harrells. Thank you guys so much.

Great experience with Harrell automotive today. We drove up from Pittsburgh, and had unexpected car troubles. At 3pm only 2 hours before close time, these guys told us to come on on in and got our car in almost immediately. They filled up our antifreeze tank which was almost empty. These guys are honest, even with out of towners that they might never see again. We really appreciate you guys, thank you so much.

Very professional and great service, had a issue with my alternator twice in the span of a few weeks. These guys fixed it and my battery ground too. Wow!! Our family received a coupon for a 20$ oil change and e decided to come check out this repair shop. I am SO happy we did. Our brakes were getting low, we kind of figured that they would need done. I cant believe it! Theres a lifetime program on brakes here. They detailed my car and everything. While relaxing in their beautiful waiting room I witnessed the friendly, professional, and speedy service every customer recieved.

I was charged $118 to.see if I had a dead battery . When I arrived the girl said I needed to gocar shopping my car was unsafe to.drive. I ended up going to.where I purchased my car. They handled everything that was on the print out from Harrells without issueMy SUV is still in great shape.for age, runs wonderfully. Sub frame replaced. Had car back in a week.

On Monday my car broke down on the side of I-79. I called every automotive place I could find on Google trying to see if anyone would take a vehicle without an appointment. When I called Harrell Automotive I spoke to Angie, who said that given it was an emergency theyd take me. I got a tow truck to there and waited till closing. They told me my car was overheating, and theyd need more time to see why. So, on Tuesday I learned that the entire cooling system for my car needed replaced. My car doesnt have a gage to te you when its over heating, so I couldnt tell that there was a problem until the check engine light came on while driving on the highway. Mt step dad wanted the full run down on what was wrong, which parts needed replaced and where the price for all of this was coming from. I called Angie again and asked for a run down of it so I could write it down, and she emailed it to me. She even suggested a few services that tend to help with the upfront cost by using a credit card. I had the money to pay out of pocket so they ordered the parts. By Wednesday, the car was ready. Angie really helped me through this. I quite literally was crying when I got the price, and she was very understanding. I am also super grateful for this place even taking me on such short notice and getting it ready in 3 days. I dont know what I would have done without them.

Did a good job but the prices are out of this world $111.62 to diagnose my problem which i told them what the problem was so it wasn’t like they where searching for the problem for hours. $52.65 because my check engine light was on it even says on the paper customer refused diagnostic so they did nothing except see i had a check engine light on and charged me 50$ for it absolute insane also it says everywhere on the paper FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT it’s never flashed before it’s always been on has never once flashed for me and they kept trying to get me to let them check it on the receipt it says customer believes it’s for a evap leak i have a diagnostic tool at home and have 1 code for emissions i know why it’s on and if i was charged $50 for them to actually do nothing i can’t imagine how much it would have costed to get it scanned probably more than the $200 scan tool i have. $600 for a water pump replacement insane prices. the did look over my car and surprisingly didn’t even charge a fortune for it even thought i asked them not to and i only wanted a water pump replacement but there’s also estimated on the back want engine belts changed a 100-200$ job they want $460!! brakes ? $800 for new rotors and pads good mechanics nice people but $600 for a water pump replacement it’s just awful sad to say i will never return and i would discourage anyone else from if you value your money

Updated 01/27/2021 4:32pm: It wasnt a threat... I just wanted you to contact me and communicate. And no, you still did not call me even now. I just dont want people to have to deal with the same issues that I did. (And YES, I absolutely feel that paying over $1600 for what I actually received was exorbitant. I never received even one call FROM you in over a month.In the first days of December 2020, I contacted Harrell Automotive on Peninsula Drive in Erie, PA concerning my 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. Although it wasn’t drivable at the time it was towed to them, and it had been sitting around unused for almost 8 months I knew that it was a solid vehicle and would make a great daily driver when repaired.I gave them a checklist that absolutely HAD to be addressed before I picked it up, because NY state has extremely specific restrictions for vehicles being inspected. Windshield Wipers and the horn were two things that were on that list.When I picked the vehicle up on January 12th, 2021 I certainly expected that everything on my list would have at least been checked and/or referenced if not repaired, but the wipers and the horn weren’t even noted on any report, nor was the front trunk deck-lid repaired (as had been mentioned in the checklist). In fact, it now looks like they pried the front of the deck-lid open with some type of tool that now will require me to repair the metal with body-work for repairs.Harrell had my car for over a month… it wasn’t as though they were being rushed or only had days. During that time, they never once actually contacted me about anything. Every communication between us was myself contacting them, even on times when they specifically stated that they would call me “that afternoon” or “the next day”.I have tried several times to discuss my unhappiness with their work, only to be told that they “didn’t appreciate threats”… how is it threatening to expect them to make things right and to try to work with them concerning it (and they STILL haven’t contacted me).I would suggest that anyone considering using Harrell Automotive as their repair place look elsewhere. I am not unreasonable, and I gave them many days to contact me and find a way to make me happy as a customer, but they have been unwilling to even call me back. This is a company to STAY AWAY from!

They did a great job on my 2001 truck, put timing tensioners in engine. Had little bit of noise on a cold start well now it’s gone, did an oil treatment also. I’m telling you it runs like a new truck lm very satisfied with the work I had done at Harrell automotive 👍

My used car had wiring difficulty that kept recurring and Harrell did a great job and Angie a very great person. Shes quite an asset to this place Her knowledge and support endless i will return and all their energy kindness and excellence was so helpful. You dont forget that and i would reccomend. Them to everyone. I was really treated so kind and they even clean/washed and vaccumed my car made me ashamed and i realized they didnt want to work in such a filthy place and will remind me to keep clean for further work and workers thank you Harrells for being there. Recommend anyone of any sort of vehicle to bring they car by for any aftermarket parts or even repairs. Brought my 2016 c300 4matic to them with an aftermarket part in hand for them to install (Aluminum Intake Tube). Completed the job no issue and even accommodated to some changes for me without and hassle. They may work mainly on trucks but sure do have a few tricks up their sleeve when it comes to german engineering that’s for sure! Thanks Mike again!

Took my sons truck to replace exhaust manifolds. Gave me an approximate day and time they would have it ready. Ran into problems with removing bolts. New date to have it ready was the afternoon before Thanksgiving. Went topick up the truck and found out the Owner was working with the mechanic to finish the work. They both worked until 6:30 that evening but still didn’t finish. Finally agreed on a date to get the truck.Truck runs great and never changed his original estimate. Very impressed and will definitely do more business with this company.

Took a car in for a problem with the AC and it turned into a major repair. Also they had the car for over a week. They have an automated system for customers to approve jobs but somehow they missed our approval and the car sat there for three days unnecessarily. I wont go back.

I have gone to Harrell’s twice when my hometown mechanic can’t fix my car’s problem. Both times they were able to fix the problem, in a timely (a cheeper than other shops) manner. I have never regretted taking my car to Harrell’s. It is hard to find honest work at a fair price but that’s what you get at Harrell’s!

We were recently out of town and our vehicle was stalling out. We took it to a repair shop and they indicated it was a fuel sensor. We had it replaced and left the area.The problem continued.. Upon returning home and I contacted Harrell Automotive. They had me drop the vehicle off and quickly diagnosed and replaced the fuel pump. The vehicle is running better than ever.We thank the staff and the technician for their hard work and dedication.

Amazing customer service!! We were just driving by Erie, PA on a Saturday and started having car trouble. Found them on Google and called them up. They gave us great directions on how to get there. They even tried to call an auto shop that was closer to where we were to see if they were open. They stayed 3 hours late to fix our car to get us back on the road that day!! Nice and friendly staff. Money hungry thieves. They wanted a thousand dollars for a radiator change. Talked them down to six hundred. They over priced it so bad. Their excuse was they double charged labor. The goal was to fix a coolant leak and it was not accomplished. They deserve zero stars. Stay away. The response is a blatant lie. Car was never touched by anyone but them. Working with me? I had to tell them they were buying overpriced parts.

Brought my van by and WOW!! I was blown away by the courteous manner of Brennan and you could see the team work with Mike. The waiting room is clean, comfortable, inviting. This is just the kind of family friendly place that I would have my mother or sister use. Great job Harrells and it was sure fun to play fetch with Paisley before I left.

Had a vehicle concern and they got me in quickly. The Technician, Joe Grace, addressed the concern and noticed other vehicle issues that were unsafe. Joe took pictures and I was able to see what was going on right from my phone! I asked them to make the vehicle safe and make necessary repairs. I have a 2007 Ford Edge, It was making a clunking noise when I turned corners in the vehicle. I had it at another shop they could not figure out what was wrong so I took my car to Harrell Automotive within a few hours problem was located and corrected. I haven’t had an issue since. Wonderful job done on my car! I went in for a PA inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. I am not from this area and not very knowledgeable about cars, but they explained everything to me and made me feel like I knew what I was paying for. They took the best care of me and I was in and out in practically no time at all!On 7/17 I called in inquiring about getting my car aligned and the wheels balanced. The folks at Harrel helped me repair my Toyota Hiace diesel import van. This is a unique van and Paul helped me out all the way through the process of diagnosis, parts access, and repair. I was traveling from the west coast cross country to Erie, and prior to making the drive back to Oregon I wanted to make sure everything was tiptop. Paul got me into the shop and had the van diagnosed as needing a new part. This was not an easy process by any means, as these parts are hard to come by. I was thoroughly impressed with Harrell Automotive’s ability to persevere through the process of fixing this van without any prior knowledge of these types of engines. They were kind, communicative, and professional throughout the process. I am super thankful to Paul for fixing this van and getting me back on the road! All the guys at Harrell are super knowledgeable about diesel engines of any type.

For me, it’s extremely intimidating and anxiety inducing taking my vehicles in to get repairs etc....I always feel like I’m going to inevitably be taken advantage of for being a woman. I took my car into the shop knowing it was going to be a major fix in comparison to some repairs. My power steering went out. I was skeptical, as I am with most mechanics because they take advantage of others and their finances. After dropping it off they called to tell me what they found, went over the price, mentioned the lower cost kit part, keeping my costs down and made sure I was comfortable with it. After the work was done, they stayed a little late as I was 7 min past closing time to get my car. Then they scraped off my car without hesitation. Today they even messaged me to make sure things were running smooth. I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone! They have my business for life

Its always hard to move to a new city and find a mechanic you can trust. For me, Harrell Automotive is that mechanic in Erie. Theyre customer service is amazing. They send text reminders of appointments, which is great because were all forgetful sometimes. They even sent a text to remind me my inspection was due. That is above and beyond as far as I am concerned. I would highly recommend them. Theyre prices are reasonable. The customer service an A+ and I like how personable they are.

First time there as they come recommended from Autozone’s approved repair centers. Talked to Mike on the phone explaining the needed repairs. He quoted me over the phone the cost and set up a time for Wednesday morning. I dropped off the car on Monday evening, and to my surprise and joy, he called me Tuesday afternoon to say the car was not only completed, but that the cost came in below his quote!!!! This was absolutely mind blowing. A day early and cheaper than anticipated!!!! Great job!!!! All around, I am extremely satisfied with the service performed, and the extreme friendliness and professionalism I experienced from everyone I dealt with. Scheduling more service on another vehicle soon, and all my other vehicles. Thank you. Absolutely outstanding customer service! Extremely knowledgeable staff who took 15 minutes to give me thorough explanations and recommendations for a simple oil change. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with text and call reminders about upcoming appointments. I completely forgot about a scheduled appointment and they called me an hour after it was supposed to happen, far more concerned that I did not go off the road in the snowstorm than about me missing the appointment. Took our van their two weeks ago for a major brake job and they were again honest, knowledgeable, helpful, and exceedingly friendly. Their customer service remains exceptional. Highly recommended!

The vacuum pump and booster on my 7.3L failed as I was traveling across state on a Thursday. No other shop in the area was able to get me in to look at it. Called up Harrell Automotive and spoke with Joel who was extremely helpful, and in a matter of a few hours, he was able to find the new part and get my in the shop for immediate diagnosis and service. Had the truck back within a day even catering to me after hours to make sure I got my truck back for my trip back Sunday. If Im ever in the area again and need help they will be my first call.

Look, there is no other way to put this... If you take your vehicle anywhere other than Harrell Automotive in Erie, you are lacking a brain. Joel and Marshall as front men for the service department are amazing and easy to talk with. The technicians they have on staff are second-to-none as well. I wasted money taking my vehicle to an actual Ford Dealership, it ended up at Harrell being fixed for real. I cannot thank you enough!

I went for a quote on tires and left with some financing options (which they explained thoroughly) that I was able to make use of! Great customer service. Loved the guest experience in the waiting room.

I was referred here after hearing multiple good things. Everyone here is extremely warm and welcoming although that only goes so far. The communication between Harrell’s and customers is extremely poor. J**** would tell me one thing then someone else would have a completely different story. I was promised call backs about the status of the repair that I never received. After this occurring serval times I completely lost faith in Harrell’s.The service department; I felt as if they were disorganized due to not having the correct parts on time for my vehicle. I understand some things are out of our control but I wasn’t even given any type of apology for any of this inconvenience. In my opinion customers want accuracy, thoroughness, and proficiency. At Harrell’s I unfortunately was delivered the opposite.This review is solely my opinion and truly wish it was more positive but this was my honest experience I have since got my vehicle back and remain disappointed.
