By far the best planet fitness I’ve gone to. It’s never too crowded. Machines are always available to use! Never too busy! Decent size gym too.

The staff here at the Elmwood Park location is the best, and the managers are exceptionally superb. Becky, Brittany, Mira, Erick, Josiah, and Gilbert are always friendly, they are attentive to everyone’s needs, and treat us like family. I love all of you (and I know I’m omitting some staff member’s names, I apologize). The place is always clean and well maintained and the atmosphere is conducive for a great workout regimen.

Was in today and just had to do this review because Mira at the front is just an amazing person with an amazing Attitude and she really pumps me up when I come in and just wanted to say that I absolutely adore that about her.

I made the switch from X Sport to Planet Fitness. X Sport was way too intimidating for a newcomer like me. I never felt welcomed and the atmosphere is way different than here. Here at Planet Fitness, the employees greet you and the whole environment and atmosphere is friendly and I actually feel welcomed and don’t feel any judgment at all from anyone.

Mira and Brittany at the front desk is just an awesome people who always encourages me every time I come in. Just love the Attitude and encouragement they give me

Safety was important to all. Everyone wore a mask and used sanitizing spray. Staff, especially Brttanny, was so professional and helpful. After a almost two years of inactivity, it felt good and safe. Thank you!

Don’t go there! Don’t go there! Don’t go there! I just went to Planet Fitness gym on Harlem street in Chicago. After running on trade mili, I went to the device for abdominal muscles and waste. I had headphones in my ears, the music was loud and I felt great. After 5 minutes working out on that device an employee approached to me and said that I am disturbing other members with the loud noice of the machine. I am LA Fitness member for 18 years and no one ever has ever approached to me and humiliated me bc of my ‘inappropriate behavior’. He even threatens me to terminate my membership. I felt so humiliated and ashamed. Later I called customer service and they said they have non intimidation policy, so if 54 woman can intimidate other people than this is ballerina club, not fitness club, and I am gonna stick with LA Fitnes where nobody is humiliated me in front of other people in the middle of my routine bc I’ve been unconsciously made some noice . He killed my vibe, my enthusiasm, my willingness to right away become a new member… Very sad experience… I understand that PF has the policy of non intimidation to attract newcomers, but if they make some remarks and criticize new, potential members they can do that on more sophisticated, delicate way.

I had a great experience with Brittney at Planet Fitness/ Elmwood Park, rejoining and opening a new account for my son. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. She made my experience very pleasant and I would highly recommend this facility to everyone.

I like coming in during the afternoon and around midnight because it’s not too packed, but you can definitely tell the difference in staff around those times. During the afternoon you’ll get a greeting and good service, but overnight crew looks like they don’t care at all. The gym was starting to look a little messy one night and the guy behind the counter was just talking to a girl for over an hour

Love how easy it is to go in workout and then leave, love how no one is screaming and hogging machines.

Nice size establishment. The Restroom is always very clean. Friendly staff, Brittany is AWESOME ! She always has HIGH energy, and is super helpful. I have NO idea how she remembers my name and alot of the guests that walk by as well. Kerri is friendly as well. I came to Planet Fitness for the cleanliness (avoiding covid as mush as I can), and they do a very good job keeping this place clean. Members also do a good job keeping it clean (compared to XSport 🤦‍♂️). Massage chairs are pretty cool too! (for black card members). Definitely recommended for anyone looking to get some work outs started.

People camp out on two benches creating their own personal exercise area. The staff could care less. I avoid this gym even though I live a mile away, and go to the Deerfield location.

Super clean, super welcoming. Lots of machines keeps waiting for equipment to a minimum. Would recommend to someone looking for a low price but quality gym for beginners.

Great gym. Down the street from my house, always clean and they just updated the space! Since the update its felt like a completely new gym that put it in a place to be competitive with other gyms!

So let me start out by saying the Planet Fitness on Harlem in Elmwood Park is by far my favorite. Ive been very happy about the way they make it a point to keep the gym clean, especially during a pandemic. But, today just put a damper on my visit. While working out, I noticed various people without a mask on. The employee behind the desk was alone so I get it, but about 1/2 an hour later 2 more employees joined her. So you would think that they would be eager to get out and clean or even tell the growing amount of people without masks on to put their masks on. Nope!!! On their phones. Discouraging!!! Discouraging because that is how this virus spreads and that is how Planet Fitness gets shut down. Please, Please, Please Planet Fitness on Harlem, lets be better. I know you can because Ive seen it.

There was an incident where my gym bag was stolen and Josiah and Gilbert were so helpful in helping trying to retrieve it back. The young men and women that work there are so helpful and very friendly. Other planet Fitness the greeters on the front table are always on there phones and gossiping. This PF is the opposite, thanks guys! 💪😎

I travel all through out east coast from CA up to New York and I able to find planet fitness in every state and almost every city I pass by which means Im able to work out daily.

I would like a refund of my membership fees as I do not feel comfortable or safe coming into the gym due to the national pandemic. They state that theyre giving customers the option to go month-to-moth, but I never received that information. In fact, instead of sending a letter or calling customers stating that theyd be reopening, they sent an email in order to justify charging yearly renewal fees and monthly dues DURING A PANDEMIC. They wont tell you why they cant give you a refund, just that they wont. Give me my money.

Quiet, clean and well staffed

Ive been at this Planet Fitness pretty much since it started. Theyve hired a trainer named Angie who is just the rudest person, generally all the employees are so nice and pleasant, she just doesnt fit in. Today i asked if she was doing a class in the 30 min room and she said to me do I look like im in there. Ive seen her be rude to many women here. Terrible hire for this club.

Im usually at the club in the early morning (7am-9am) both M-F and on weekends. The folks who man the front desk are very polite and helpful. They always have a smile and a pleasant comment to share. They are also very attentive to the needs of customers by keeping the disinfectants and paper towels well stocked. They are always cleaning floors or dusting equipment. Very impressive crews on both shifts!!

I like recent improvement, especially with hot water. The manager and all associates are friendly and helpful. My membership is low side, however, I can use gym only once a week due to limited time. I brought friend several times. I hoped the fee for guest would be reasonable too. After all the guest can be your future member.

Great, “no attitude” gym. Clean, great interior and colors, well maintained, great price and all equipment you might need, whether basic workout or body building. Nice mixture of real people of all ages and body types. Great for those who may feel intimidated by stereotype gyms.

Been waiting for an half and hour for them to open up. The parking lot is full of people waiting to go in, one guy standing out in the cold. I thought that they was supposed to open up at 7:00 am on Sunday but I guess the staff does what they want.

Clean and quiet. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Locker rooms are clean. Well organized and have plenty of equipment for beginner/intermediate fitness. It can be pretty busy during the day/evening so often times I find myself waiting a bit for dumbbells/machines to be available but it’s perfect at night. All types of body types, ages, etc. so you don’t feel awkward or insecure but can also see others and learn from them. Super happy with this gym!!

I just changed my home gym to this location and so far Ive had a great experience. They appear to be upholding the cleaning policy very well (cant speak to how it used to be pre-covid haha). The staff has been super friendly - always welcoming in and saying goodbye on my way out. The locker room/bathrooms have also been clean every time Ive gone! Keep up the great work!

Ive been a PF member for about 2 years, and have probably used 30 locations nationwide. So, Ive noticed some things about each location which make them unique. As for the Elmwood Park, its become my regular spot.Some highlights:1) Wi-Fi that actually works. Unlike Forest Parks.2) Recent renovation to the locker rooms, fresh paint, etc. It took a while, but looks great.3) The staff is great. Ive interacted with most of them and am impressed with the team as a whole. Dylan is an exceptional young professional, and has a bright future ahead. Carly, too. During the rehab project, they brought in evening snacks on multiple occasions to show their appreciation for customers patience.4) The clientele at this location are good about wipe-downs, and are generally courteous gym members.5) The parking lot is small, but there are almost always enough spots. Ive only had to park on the street once (which is 5 feet from the front door, and free).Overall, I give them an A. Otherwise, Id sweat somewhere else.

PLANET FITNESS IS THE GREATEST. Honestly I would recommend ELMWOOD PARK PLANET FITNESS to close friends but I would leave it at that. If I were to recommend this location to others who are not close friends, there would be a large influx of people, and with this location being much smaller than the other locations I have frequented, it would be too crowded.I like this Planet Fitness because the proximity in relation to where I live which is approximately 1blk. away. And the times I have worked out here, its been comfortably not too full and I was able to get in my workout with no Interruptions or having to wait for machines, free weights or anything else or the showers.This may sound petty: I give it a 9 and not a 10 only because when I joined this location there were HAIR DRYERS. They renovated some things and after they were finished the HAIR DRYERS WERE NO LONGER THERE. I wish for whomever is capable to RETURN THE HAIR DRYERS and get my vote to a 10. Thank you very much.Also-- I hope the hours will increase closer to normal, this way I am not confined to lesser hours which could lead to compromised and longer workout times because of crowded conditions. If Planet Fitness collects everyones monthly dues, there would be enough money to pay workers for the 24hr shifts. As of Now, everyone is paying their dues and what is not being paid to the 24hr shift workers is being held by the corporation, and that is not fair. Planet Fitness is capable of putting the 24hr shifts back in order. Thank you again.

Great Gym, Well kept equipment, Friendly staff and Plenty of parking spaces if youre driving to this location.

I have had the best customer service when I go during the late shift so far. The dude with the hat and the girl with blue in her hair are always working. There is a lady with blonde short hair that is always attentive. I went early the other day and had the worst experience. There was a lady in a red clown wig just staring at her phone and playing with her straw from her ugly reusable cup. Oh yea apparently she is one of your employees.

This is a very good gym. For $10 a month, I have access to lots of different equipment. The staff is always friendly and maintain the cleanness of the facility. The Wi-Fi always work great. I really enjoy working out at this particular location.

Parking lot is full of potholes.One time I had a flat tire when it was raining and the potholes were full of water.They need to be repaired before the winter comes.Be careful when you’re driving there.

I come to this gym almost daily. The machines are in proper working condition. The equipment is up to date and pretty clean for the most part. (its up to the customers to wipe the machines down after using them.) The bathrooms are clean, locker room is clean. The staff is cool, they do their jobs. I will say there could be more free weights because there are not enough. The busiest times are Mon-Fri from 5pm-830pm, around 9pm-10pm the crowd thins out and there is more space. The weekends are the best days to come because the gym is almost empty. I would also like if you could just check in on your own, because sometimes the staff get busy with new customers and I just be wanting to swipe my tag and go. I gave 4 stars because parking sucks for sure. At the busy times you really wont find a spot in the gyms parking lot, and at non-busy times you will still have difficulty parking. There is just not enough spaces. The lot is very small. Over all its a good gym. Like I said I come on the regular :-)

After reading over other reviews (that were posted over a year ago) I have to disagree with most of them. I joined at this location a little more than a month ago for $1 down and $10 a month with no commitment (still have an annual $35 fee). I love this gym. I can go there whenever I want because its 24 hrs (dont like the crowds) and no one bothers you. Not sure about the guys, but as a female thats a huge PLUS. Thats one reason I never joined a gym. You get guys trying to hit on you while youre all sweaty and trying to workout & youre not there for that. The staff is very helpful, the gym is very clean, the equipment is well kept and easy to use and they have plenty of lockers, clean bathrooms and I love the atmosphere. Going to a gym can be kind of intimidating if youve never gone before but I feel like this place is so laid back and comfortable for everyone no matter their fitness level. I do like that they discourage trainers and body builders for those who are intimidated.My advice, everything isnt for everybody but you should definitely check this location out if its convenient for you and judge for yourself. If you just want to workout and be left alone in a clean friendly environment, come here. If youre looking for extra perks with a members only vibe, might wanna go someplace else.

If you just want a basic, no frills place to work out this is it. For $10 a month, plus some really dumb annual maintenance and start-up fees, you get access to all the equipment, locker room with showers, and small group training sessions. For $20 a month, and slightly less but still really dumb annual and start-up fees, you get all I just mentioned plus unlimited guest passes, unlimited tanning, access to all their locations, and use of the massage chairs. I opted for the cheaper option.I really like the 30 minute workout but I find it hard to clean the equipment between machines. Its a race against the green light to get to the next machine and the cleaner is in one location in one corner of the 30 minute workout area later. Ill have a system down soon...OK, so everyone seems to love the free pizza Mondays. This turned me off at first and made me not want to join. When I went for a tour before I signed up I asked about the pizza thing. My impression was that pizza is a little contradictory to the whole working out thing. But then he explained that its like a rewards and that they assume everyone works their ass off on a regular basis and they deserve it. OK. And I deserve the Tootsie Rolls I grab from the front desk as I leave too!

5 employees working and they walked around not picking up a darn thing on the floor. Gym was very very dirty. Floors looked like they have never been cleaned. You could see corners with dust balls and under gym equipment.

It’s very clean and tidy fitness spot including dressing room and restrooms, the staff is so awesome, welcome and friendly, equipment is working, so I’m enjoying my workouts

Its a decent place to get your work out in. It is a small spot! But itll do for a quick workout! No real room though for stretching, so if you dont do to much of that your good.

One of the few gyms that are truly open 24/7. This is probably the only reason why I like this location. Besides that, this location is lacking some essential machines so it might not be for everyone, but I think all the Planet Fitness locations have that kind of problem.And just so you know, only the black card membership buys you everything, and, you have to pay a yearly membership fee no matter what type of membership you get, which in my opinion beats the purpose of having a low, monthly membership fee as well as the sign up fee... I guess they have to get you some how!

Easily one of the best gyms Ive been to. As someone who doesnt enjoy Training myself or clients in Franchise Fitness chains it can be hard to find a local Gym you enjoy.

There are better gyms - you need to know that each one is either individually owned or franchise they have a problem with consistency across the board. They offer no type of personal training instead they have Fitness instructors. If I wanted a fitness instructor I could watch YouTube I need someone who is a professional that is going to help me meet my fitness goals.

I like it too much its best place for me to forget my stress. the stuff and materials are too clean and great.

Had to go in to cancel my membership, they told me it was done. Asked them for a printout saying its cancelled and they said youll receive something in your email. Well, one month later they are still charging my account and they will not give me an answer why. I had to change my credit card numbers and put a block on my account. They are some thieves. Beware.

Great gym to have a good workout, the staff is nice. Only thing is they should definitely cut giving out free junk food. After a good workout the last thing I want to see is pizza or bagels. I can see the hustle and they way they want to keep the customers happy but that’s very contridictive for a 24/7 gym.

Great group fitness classes. I truly enjoy my workouts and havent met an instructor I dont like yet. If youre not self motivated, this is the best place

This place is always clean! I come in late from 10-6am and these guys are always working hard and great to even chat with, you can tell when people are actually happy in the work place. This my other favorite location thats close to home. Ill always be back here.It is on the smaller side not as many machines and doesnt have hydrobeds or the cross training area but you can still make due here!Keep up the great work guys!!

I sign up for a membership this month to help with my anxiety and get fit and I’m very happy at this planet fitness great staff awesome machines wish they change the tv channel other then that it’s awesome

I like the way the machines are spread out from leg and arms on one side, while the cardio is a little up ahead. And the dumbell and bars are on the other side of the weight machines so while Im working with the weights, Im not stuck on one side.I get to workout with the weight machines, then when I want to workout with the dumbbells I get to go to the other side of the gym and look at other stuff and not be stuck on one section of the gym.

I came her because theyre 24hr I really like this Planet Fitness a lot of the equipment have a small tv attached to them. Front desk was helpful and all the equipment is self explanatory. You can also monitor your heart rate, calories and other. When I went it was quiet & relaxing enough for me to focus on what I was doing.

This unfortunately is the worst PF Ive been to so far. I dont know why there are so many good reviews on Google Map. Its smaller than a regular PF. Equipment is old. Lockers are dirty and rotted out. Dont even think about using the shower there because water is always cold and shower door looks gross. Never bothered to even walk in the shower area to check it out. The whole gym just looks and feels kind of gross and dirty. Ive never seen the people working there actually cleaning anything when I was there ever. Like PF in other cities would pay a lot of effort to make sure the floor, restroom, equipment is clean. But this is a different place. But I guess this is the Chicago PF norm.
