Peter, the manager is great. Takes care of my needs at every turn. I am an extremely long term renter. Almost 2 yrs straight. I get great rates and they get me the vehicle I need for my particular purpose. They have a good no contact system in place for COVID, while I dont really care for it, I am sure people who worry about it appreciate it. They make it painless to rent a vehicle and will usually upgrade you free of charge. Prefer Ellsworth location to Bangor any day, staff is more friendly and personal there.

I had a mixed experience with my recent Enterprise rental. The good: Im grateful for the easy pick up, ability to drop off at a different location, ease of making a reservation, and fair rental rate. The bad: we agreed to take a huge SUV instead of the smaller vehicle we had reserved because the rental agent indicated it would be a help to him to transport it to another location. Im not a fan of huge vehicles, but it didnt seem a big problem and Im happy to help someone out if I can. It of course ended up costing me more for the gas, but I was willing to do it. Dropped it off without incident, but got home and noticed a fueling charge had been added to my bill. A mile before returning it, I had filled the tank until I got the click from the pump and saw the indicator was at the full line. I called to ask about this and the Enterprise staffer told me it didnt look full. At the time we returned it, he had cranked it up to check mileage and presumably the fullness of the tank. He didnt say anything to us then. I had to go through all of this on the phone with him and wait for him to get the ok to remove the $7 charge. It was eventually taken off, but it seemed shady. I had done my part (and a bit more, by taking a vehicle I didnt prefer and paying extra because of bad gas mileage, and losing valuable time on the phone afterward). I was left with the impression that Enterprise is working in nasty hidden charges. I dont have a car and was hoping to use Enterprise frequently over the winter, but this left a bad taste in my mouth and I dont feel comfortable with them now.

I have been renting vehicles on and off with Enterprise for a couple of months now. I would have given them five stars, had it not been for a small issue I had over the phone with an agent that is sort of a roaming agent throughout their various locations.That being said, and with that one isolated incident, they have been great every time since and before that! Peter, the location manager is as professional as they come! I am not the easiest customer, yet he has always been upfront, transparent, and as far as I am concerned, very honest! He has been an absolute pleasure to do business with! Along with Scott, I know and feel obligated by my own morals to speak on their behalf! Both of them have bent over backwards for me, during each of my renal contracts! Ive been upgraded to better vehicles for little or no charge! Ive been treated very well, while extending rentals as well as returning them! Like I said before I am not an easy customer to make happy, but Im pleased to say that both of these fine gentlemen have exceeded all of my expectations. And done it with smiles! I cant say enough kind things about these experiences! This has been happening during a very trying time in my life, while dealing with the passing of my father! They have been very courteous, always speaking on my loss and offering their condolences! I had to upgrade vehicles from a mid size SUV to a truck, so that I could move some of my fathers belonging. I was well aware and expected an increase in price between vehicles. Without a mention, they did not raise my charge with vehicle change! They were obviously showing their compassion, which really has gone a long way with me! I will have no issues recommending Peter and Scott to any of my friends or family in need of a rental! As well, I know that I will be back! The hardest part of renting from any of the enterprise locations, is the deposit involve in the upfront charge. it was explained to me very well, as to why it occurs, and they were very prompt in crediting the money back, once I returned the vehicle in one piece. I agree that the charge is a necessary part of renting, once I was informed of why. It was only difficult due to the timing and limited income I have, due to COVID-19. As far as that is concerned also, all of the staff in Ellsworth wore masks and practiced safe distancing. There was an extra disinfecting wipe in each of the vehicles that I rented! The vehicles were all very clean, thoroughly gone thru, and all had very low miles and mostly appeared as new vehicles from outside and in! Overall, it has been an absolute pleasure renting from Peter and his crew, in Ellsworth, Maine. I want to personally extend my appreciation to both Peter and Scott! Thank you guys for dealing with me(I know I can be a pain in the butt). You both handled me in stride and not once waivered from being top notch salesmen and representatives of Enterprise rent-a-car! This has been a very hard time for me, and the extra mile, and kindness Ive received, has not gone without notice! You guys have been great! Thank you both for making this experience a little bit easier, all around!

The man who helped me I believe his name was Peter, he made everything super easy and hassle free. I ended up needing the vehicle an extra day which was no problem. I returned the vehicle around 6pm and my deposit was refunded by the next morning. Thank you for making a stressful time so much easier. I will definitely go back to them again in the future.

As a long time customer of Enterprise, I must be fair. They have been an exceptional business to work with. I have been renting from Enterprise for over 20 years. I have been loyal to the point of not even comparing prices with other companies. I rent to the tune of about $4,000 per year. No longer. I am very disappointed given my loyalty to be required to pay these ridiculous drop fees. Not $10 or $20 mind you, but in dome cases more than $500. I simply will not pay $1400 for a car rental for 4 or so days. Absolutely ridiculous. I was unaware that business was so good, when I questioned it, I was encouraged to go to your competition. Well, I will. You will not see another penny from my family. ANY OF THEM IN 14 STATES. You see, your not just losing my business, but EVERYONE I know.

Came to swap out a car and Peter made it as easy and breezy as can be. From the moment we pulled in the driveway to the moment we pulled out was probably 7 minutes or less.Y’all got it going on 😎Thanks again!!!

Great experience at the Enterprise in Ellsworth, ME. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Pick-up and return were a breeze, and the car was in great condition.

Earlier this year I needed alternate transportation and contacted Ellsworth Enterprise. Lance was the associate that went above and beyond to make my stressful situation much more easier to deal with. I strongly recommend this company/location to anyone for short term or long term rentals.

Enterprise in Elsworth was okay. Due to Covid, had to rent and access away from Bangor Airport on 2nd day of trip. attendant was somewhat brusque, (didnt seem happy to be there) after hours turn in a breeze and easy to do. None the less, would use Enterprise again if didnt availability to an airport rental car.

We would like to thank Enterprise for picking us up at our Hotel on July 1st 2019 after our car was totaled. Today when we returned the car, our rate was adjusted because of our Insurance coverage. Your company was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We would definitely recommend you.

Great bunch of people. Reservations for a pickup fell through at the Bangor branch, these guys came through with one and were super awesome to deal with. Definitely using them again!

Was stuck with my vehicle in the shop and no transport available. They got me into a vehicle right away.

Lance really came through when we had an issue with insurance coverage for our rental car. He took the time to make some calls so my daughter was able to keep the rental car while her car repairs were completed. What a relief!!!!

Lance was a really nice and helpful guy but.. I was quoted $80 for a one day rental that ended up being $131. Thats insane for a one day (not even over night) rental. I see that the owner replied but there is no way to reply back to them. I did call Enterprise to ask them what was up with the huge difference in the price and was told $131 was correct. The $50 tacked on was supposedly taxes and fees. I think it also had something to do with the gas scam you have going on. I didnt even use 1/4 of a tank but I think they charged me for a full tank.

The manager in training lady is Amazing, she is friendly and welcoming. She will make sure you get what you came for. Ive rented from this branch alot and would love to see her running that branch !

We do long-term vacation rentals in the summers, renting out of the Annapolis MD office. Enterprise requires that the rental be rewritten/renewed every 30 days, which in past years we have done in Ellsworth ME. For whatever reason, the branch manager in Ellsworth refused to do that this year, so we wound up having to drive to Belfast ME, who had no problem doing the transaction.

Enterprise has ads that say they will pick you up, but the Ellsworth Enterprise has refused this service, saying my house was beyond where theyre allowed to go. This is a major inconvenience, besides being dishonest publicity. I am very disappointed.
