Very professional management and mechanics, they explained all the options in detail. I couldn’t get over how they treated my vehicles situation as if it was theirs and more than anything how they tried to save me money whenever possible. This was my first visit/experience with them and I will definitely return!

My granddaughter recently drove my car and experienced a perplexing issue with the transmission. We had the car towed home. After a short test drive showed no issues, I drove the vehicle to Allen Transmission Ellisville for a professional diagnosis. The result was that the transmission was preforming and driving correctly, and that the issue could have been operator error. I later tested the operator error scenario, and exactly reproduced the complaint. My family learned from this incident, and the total cost to me was $0.00.

Good people at Allen Transmission. I took my 2007 Acadia there to have the transmission rebuilt. A couple months after it was rebuilt, a computer part that talks to the transmission (I don’t recall the part’s name) went bad. It was not part of the transmission rebuild and therefore not covered by the warranty. The good people at Allen Transmission replaced the part for no charge. Parts and labor to have it replaced would have been $800.

BEWARE! I reviewed the BBB complaints and negative feedback ratings from various web sites but figured these were examples of difficult customers or isolated incidents. I should have applied better judgment. I thought I had a transmission problem so I wanted to take it to a place that was close in proximity and specialized in transmissions. Long story short, after the “free” diagnostic, I was quoted $935 to rebuild my transfer case. Jim, the manger committed to completing my car that day or providing me with a free loaner while servicing my car. I authorized Jim to do my rebuild for $935. What Jim, failed to articulate is that was just the cost of labor. He assumed I knew that $935 was just a labor cost and I should intuitively know that parts would be a separate charge. There was never any discussion about pricing parts separately. I was misled to believe the $935 was to complete the job. The bill came out to $1924.65 and the job took 4 days to complete. I had to pay for a rental car for 4 days out of my own pocket. Jim did not accept any accountability for his miscommunication, refused to work with me and applied generally unethical business practices throughout the process. This company’s business model obviously doesnt rely on repeat business for its survival. Be forewarned. Please learn from my mistake and do not honor this business with your patronage.

I wanted to take the time to give a shout out and thank Glen and his staff for putting their time and effort at searching for the parts needed to rebuild my whole transmission before I had to decide I had to go another route at this time unfortunately due to my finances at the moment. I think my vehicle mat have sat up there around a week while they tried hunting down the main part they needed to get started. There were some difficulties as Ive been told mine is a little rare find. I have a 1998 Honda CR-V that is a manual and all wheel drive and I needed a whole new transmission case (hard to come across the right one) as mine has a big hole in the side of it. Glen was very easy to work with and very friendly each time we spoke on the phone. He was also very curtious on keeping me up to date on the status of the search for the parts. I am very thankful and appreciate everything yall done for me and didnt charge me anything since I was unable to go through with it. Im sure every situation has different circumstances. That meant a lot to me, being a single mom of 2. Again, thank you for trying to help me out. If my situation changes and am able to afford it to get fixed or need any future help or hear anyone needing yalls kind of help, I will definitely be back myself and recommend anyone to yall!!

Lousy service. Company will refuse to back any warranty even when its their own fault. Spent over $2900 here and the transmission lasted under 15 hours. Had to get it towed to a real shop. Austin Transmissions is muxh better than this trash hole.

DO NOT use this shop!! They are deceitful and dishonest. Tried to tell my elderly parents they needed a new $3500 transmission and lied repeatedly! We caught them in the lie and they charged $400.00 for the work supposedly done. 2 other shops confirmed the work done was also unnecessary and a scam. All that was wrong was a loose coil wire found at another shop.

Great service! The staff were knowledgable and courteous, and the repair was completed timely, at a reasonable cost. Being an automotively challenged female, I am always wary when choosing a repair shop with whom I can feel confident. Thererfore, I was greatly dismayed when the transmission light came on in my BMW 325i, and she was shifting hard. After calling several shops, I was very relieved to find Allen Transmission. The shop manager, Glenn, was conversant and pleasant, explaining the diagnostic procedures and preparing me for what to expect. His friendly manner, and patience in taking time to answer my questions, put me at ease and inspired trust and confidence in their integrity, which proved to be well-founded. I would gladly recommend this shop to family and friends!

I took my 2001 Honda Pilot with 170,000 miles on it to have the transmission looked at. The car was barely able to move and shifted very erratically. Allen Transmission quoted me a low and high price, one with Honda replacement parts and one with aftermarket parts. I chose to use Honda parts. It took some time because of parts incompatibility issues. I bought the car with 150,000 miles so who knows if the original transmission was ever replaced or not. They got it together and something didnt feel right after a couple of weeks. I took it back and they said something definitely wasnt right. They kept the car and after exhaustive search learned the diameter of one of the main shafts they were provided by Honda wasnt right. This caused an internal seal to not seal high pressure transmission fluid properly. They had to tear the whole thing apart again.Having been a mechanic myself years ago I understand how these things can happen. Allen Transmission went above and beyond to take care of me. Their policy is not to give out loaner cars but they gave me one to help me out in this extraordinary situation. They were always courteous to me and worked their best to see I got treated fairly. They are a member of a National Transmission Association so they are held to a higher standard that some other shops might me.A couple of months after I got the car back I went for an oil change at a Firestone. They told me they noticed what could be transmission fluid leaking. I took it back to Allen Transmission and they found a faulty gasket on a transfer case, unrelated to the Transmission rebuild. One side of the case butts to the transmission and the other to the axel case. It was the one on the axel case that was leaking. They didnt even hesitate to act. They repaired it for me at no cost just to make sure I wasnt unhappy or suspicious.I know things can go wrong with a large job like this especially with a older car that has a complicated drive train system like Honda designs. Allen Transmission took good care of me and stood by their warrantee. We cant avoid things going wrong at times but its a comfort to know a company will stand by their work and do what is right when something does. I would recommend them for service. Jim.
