I purchased a new Oriental rug at Main Street in early May 2021. All staff were very helpful. I contacted the store before arriving, and they had located rugs for me that were the size I wanted. Once in the store, they helped me find additional rugs, and offered a take-home and try the rug out service. We did that and ended up purchasing a rug. It is beautiful. We highly recommend them.

My hubby and I were searching for a Persian rug and visited the Main Street Oriental Rugs in Ellicott City. The owner was very patient as we went through many beautiful rugs. Once selected, we took the rugs home and laid them in various rooms. One didnt seem to fit, so we took it back and after plowing through many more rugs, we ended up buying a larger one similar to the first. The sheen, beauty and quality were the best. The price, after some friendly negotiation, was appreciated too. Big selection !

Arranging the cleaning of our machine made wool oriental style rug was quick and easy with a phone call. the men who picked up and returned were masked, on time, polite and professional. The freshly cleaned rug looks greatly improved. The price was reasonable relative to what we hae paid in the past to another provider. We are very happy with this company.

I am a student at a nearby school and i applied here during the start of the summer . I applied here because i had no knowledge about oriental rugs and they had always peaked my interest. The owner and other employees were very polite from the start and was willing to teach me about rugs throughout my time working here. Theres no limit to the experience and knowledge I have gained from this job, lot more than I expected. The environment and thei people this type of business attracts is like no other plus it is located in the historic Ellicott city main street which has a wonderful atmosphere and people.

This was our second purchase from Main Street Oriental and we could not be happier! We worked with Mojan Bagha both times we purchased carpets. He nd his staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their inventory which is amazing! I was looking for something to work with our colonial green colored dining room. Apparently green is not a common color for oriental rugs but Mr. Bagha took on my quest and worked with us patiently to find the perfect rug. We are delighted. We will most certainly go back here again for carpet cleaning and/or repairs (if needed in the future) and any future purchases. I cant say enough about this establishment. Mojan did a masterful job with a tricky repair of a rug that had been damaged by bleach. I was skeptical when he told me he was going to patch a 2 inch hole with a sample taken from a modern rug because it’s colors (Rust) were similar to the background of my rug. But when he was done, I had to look for the repair to find it. He’s that good.

The main part of this job was repair of a large Oriental rug which was completed beautifully. Mojan is pleasant and professional. He answers texts/phone calls in a timely manner and the work was done in less time then I had been told. I believe his prices are very fair. The quality of the repair work was superb. They cleaned AND repaired area rugs (hand made from Iraq) that are more than 40 years old. Theydid an AMAZING job!

We trust the expertise and quality here. They were the only place that knew how to get an oriental rug to stay put over wall to wall carpet. They were able to do the difficult installation of a special pad and were Covid compliant and on time. They do a beautiful cleaning job. We were also happily surprised to remember the true colors of a rug that they just had cleaned for us.

When another service fell through, Main Street Orient Rugs stepped in to clean six large, very dirty rugs for us on very short notice. Mr. Bagha and his team were very knowledgeable and thorough, and did outstanding work. They even updated the backing on some rugs at no additional charge. We were walking down Main Street and happen to come across a shop with a bulldog wearing a rug and thought it was pretty awesome and decided to go inside. Behold there was an entire rug store we just never noticed before. I started casually browsing and the staff was very helpful. We weren’t in the market to buy a rug but this one collectible pictorial rug caught our eye in rolled up in the corner that we absolutely fell in love with due to its artistic uniqueness full of meaning. The owner was very informative and even asked to take it home and see how it looks. We took a week to figure out the best place for this unique piece and the staff was very accommodating and helpful along the process. We definitely recommend this store if you are in the market for high quality rugs that may end up becoming a family heirloom lasting generations.

The quality and inventory of rugs, customer service, and pricing is all 5 star at this shop in historic Ellicott City. I had shopped online before going in and was glad I did. The colors are a little hard to judge online so it is ideal to see them in person. Also, the staff were so amazing about listening to what I was looking for, and knowing their inventory so well they could pull out options from all over the store. They were wonderful and patient about pulling out a variety of (very heavy!) rugs for me to look at. It is clear they are passionate about rugs and were focused ensuring I got a rug I *loved*. Id been shopping for a rug for some time too, so knew from comparisons that the price and quality of the rug I purchased was excellent.

Two of five rugs I had cleaned were, to put it mildly, a challenge. Before returning the rugs to my home, I was invited to the store to see the results. I was amazed that the binding on a large rug was replaced at no additional charge, yet I was disappointed that the ground in dirt on that same rug and the red dye stains on another were still evident. I was assured it would be “taken care of” and I left the store feeling a little skeptical.When the rugs were soon delivered to my home, I was astonished that the rug with the red stain had been dyed leaving no hint of its previous presence, nor any altering of the beautiful colors of the rug. The other rug, too, was remarkably improved making me so proud to display it once again in my home.Trust this company to do whatever possible to bring satisfaction to its customers. You won’t regret it.

We have been customers for many years! They are so helpful and gave beautiful, quality carpets. Most recently we had our carpets picked up and cleaned after very bad puppy accidents on our white carpets. We were AMAZED that they came back to us in perfect shape! This place is the best!

We had used Main Street Oriental a few months ago to rebind one side or our Persian rug. We then needed the other side of the rug rebound. However, when we tried to bring it in they said they would charge us $150 more this time (it was the exact same repair, absolutely 0 difference). When we asked why that is he said it’s just what his price. I would maybe understand a slight markup but to raise prices for a repeat customer for absolutely no reason is not the way to keep customers. Unfortunately we have a large collection of Persian rugs that we’ll now have to take to another business that has a better business model than “we raise prices just because we think you can afford it”.***please see the company’s response below. We were NEVER told rugs must be cleaned first. Only that we’d be charged $150 extra because “that’s my price”. Simply asking why there would be a huge price increase for the exact same repair is not rude. The only “rude” comment was “okay, let’s go then” which is what my husband said after this company was rude towards US after we asked the rational behind price gouging.

We have a small oriental rug that’s been in the family for over 100 yrs. The end binding started to unravel and that is serious for old Oriental rugs. Brought it to Main Street Oriental Rugs for cleaning and repair. They immediately knew what to do to restore the rug. It wasn’t fast and wasn’t cheap, but the rug looks great and the bound fringe won’t unravel for the next several decades. Nice people who know their oriental rugs. Will be bringing in other rugs when they need cleaning or repair.

I am very satisfied with the service provided to me by Main Street Oriental Rugs, and specially Mr. Bagha, the owner. Last year few days before Thanksgiving, I took our Persian/Tabriz rug to be washed at Main Street Oriental Rugs. I was told that in order for them to do a good job they need almost 10 days, but I insisted that I needed the rug back by Thanksgiving. They made their best effort and made the carpet ready on the Thanksgiving eve. The carpet was washed nicely and was ready on time, so I was happy already! However, Mr. Bagha told me they usually do a better job and offered me to rewash the rug at no additional cost at some later time. The carpet was washed again few days ago, and this time the carpet looked even nicer. Very nice quality of work at Main Street Oriental Rugs and even better customer service! I highly recommend Main Street Oriental Rugs to everyone in the area.

This place is terrific!Preparing for entertaining during the 2019 holiday season, we decided it was time to have our area rugs cleaned. It had been more than 15 years for some of these rugs, and a few had some damage that threatened their integrity. We contacted Main Street Oriental Rugs for an estimate, and were pleasantly surprised at both the price they quoted and the turnaround time they promised.We explained what we wanted done, and they were very accommodating - even being able to repair the rugs that we thought might be past saving. We decided to drop our rugs off (although I think they will arrange to pick them up at your home - for an extra fee, of course), which is really convenient. Their store is on Main Street in old Ellicott City and, f youre familiar with that, you know finding a place to park close to where you want to be can be a challenge. Fortunately, theres a space right across the street thats reserved for loading/unloading, so parking is never a problem.Once they had moved the rugs into their store, they did a quick assessment and discussed what they would do and how the rugs would be treated - all in clear and easy-to-understand language. They notified us when the rugs were ready - a day or two before their estimate, as I recall.Both my wife and I were extremely pleased with the way they looked - noticeably brighter colors and they felt - and smelled - like new. We couldnt be more pleased and would highly recommend Main Street Oriental Rugs to anyone who is looking to give their area rugs a good and thorough cleaning. Dont be put off by the name - even if your rugs arent strictly oriental, theyll still take care of them for you.I know this - it wont be another 15 years before we use them again!

I had 8 rugs that were in rough shape. Not only were they dirty, my dogs had chewed on most of them, the fringe was frayed, and they had pet stains. I considered getting rid of them. I am so glad I called Mojan. All rugs were cleaned and expertly repaired. They look brand new! This is not the best photo but you can clearly see where my puppy took a nice bite out of the rug and after the repair you cannot even see it.

When intrigued by certain rugs, he was able to tell us the age and where exactly they were from and even the history of the people who made it. It was amazing. Main Street Rugs has now cleaned 5 oriental rugs for me and even shipped one to California. They have always been friendly, fair and done good work. I had a confusion with a bill and they fixed the problem right away. I will return to them in the future.

I choose not to do business with you based on how you treated my wife. I have zero tolerance for unfair treatment of women by service-oriented businesses.This is Mr. Cobos who supposed was rude.During a phone call with your business we were quoted for a repair at $415, not including cleaning. The cleaning was never mentioned. When my wife and I showed up on the same day, you increased the price to $450. Then when my wife asked about the prices increase in a very polite way, you proceeded to cut her off, throw your hands up and say “ that’s my price.” I said Okay let’s go.Unacceptable treatment by a business.

We have been looking for an area rug for months with little success until we accidentally came upon this store. Mr. Bagha took a lot of time explaining the different styles and quality, and genuinely seemed interested in helping us find the right rug for our family room. There was never any pressure to buy, and he was very generous in letting us take multiple rugs home for evaluation. The quality of his merchandise is exceptional. I would recommend him above all others in the Baltimore area. He truly deserves the high ratings he has received.

Main Street delivered on the date (1/20) they promised. Good customer service. However, I had a snag on each one of my Cashmere rugs. The owner first said that is how the rug is made. When I told him it was not, he suggested I bring them back. I did not feel like lugging those rugs back to the store. I dont live close. So, I will just take the loss. Given the responses I have read, I can bet the owner will say they are not responsible.

My wife and I visited Main Street Oriental Rugs twice over 4 days. We were looking for a large Persian Rug for our library, and were impressed with several aspects of this rug shop. First, their customer service is VERY impressive; we felt very welcome. Second, they go to a lot of trouble to show you any rug that you might like. Third, they have a LOT of gorgeous rugs, and they can tell you a lot about each one. After a while, my wife and I had seen so many rugs, they started blurring together in our minds. The owner voluntarily emailed us photos of the rugs we had indicated we were most interested in, and that made the decision easier, and not hurried at all.And Lastly, they have good prices. We were looking for one big rug, and we purchased the prettiest rug we found there. Once we paid for it, we had enough money left to purchase a 14 runner rug for our hallway. We never expected those prices :) Were now planning for a dining room rug and an office rug.

We called Main Street to clean our high quality area rug that was soiled by our new puppy over the course of a couple months of house training. There were multiple pee stains and the rug smelled like a mixture of urine and all of the many materials we attempted to clean it with. It was so bad that we could smell it from the kitchen. Mojan was certain that he could help us by fully cleaning and disinfecting the rug. The service was prompt and efficient. They picked the rug up, cleaned it, returned it to our house and repositioned it along with a new pad for $650 and all within two weeks. We were more that satisfied with the results. The rug, a cream color, now looks even brighter than when we bought it and the smell is completely gone. We are so relieved that our beautiful rug was not ruined. Mojan and his assistant were extremely accommodating and even removed our soiled pad for free. We highly recommend Main Street for customer service and quality.
