I love the staff at our Elizabethtown Post Office, but… the landscaping by the drive through dropoff boxes is Awful!!! Please cut the grass and use a weed eater to zap the scraggly ugly weeds!

No wonder the mail service isnt doing well! You cant get through! Its taking 2 weeks to get a package and still paying for priority delivery! Covid is just an excuse for them to be lazy! Sorry, but theres no way it should be taking 14 days and still no package coming from Missouri to Kentucky! I couldve just drove and picked it up! Time for business to start using other carriers!

Edit: Called the main 1-800 number listed here, got a call back, the operator (Linda) was very helpful and apologetic! She has filed a claim with the local office and I wait for a response from them. Even if it doesnt help right away, I will continue to report my issues and YOU ALL SHOULD TOO!Constantly having issues with mail and package delivery. Just this year I have had a package lost and then returned to the place I ordered it from, mail is constantly getting returned to senders and I get phone calls about an address change (which I have notified them of in February and they always say, oh, that is the address we have on file...ya think??), mail is absolutely trashed every time I take it out of the box because the delivery guy literally fills my mailbox with sales papers every chance he gets, and then this morning I get the mail out of the box from yesterday and there is a handwritten message on one of my envelopes that my mailbox has been frozen (what?). I am currently awaiting a return call from the complaint department of the USPS, hoping to get this mess cleared up! I am beyond frustrated with this mail carrier.I have always had great service at the office, other than the little mousey manager that lied about looking for my package earlier this year. Never followed up like he said he would, I had to make another trip into the office to follow up myself for the location of my package, he AGAIN tried to get my number and said he would follow up. I told him he already had my number and I he was lying, but to tell his driver to leave my package on my front porch and if it wasnt there by the time I woke up (I work night shift), I would be back in there with my attorney. The package was on my porch when I woke up. (The package is the one that was shipped out AGAIN after they returned it to the sender...a whole month of an ordeal).Wish there was an alternative mail service for the things that cant be online. Any suggestions?

The line was long but as usual, the time was beautifully spent. This place is glorious with the most helpful and friendly workers around. What a pleasure. Plus, getting mail and packages or sending off, as well, is as liberating as newly found freedoms of the soul and body. This place is tremendous! It enables us to touch the whole world! And to reach out to others that we would never otherwise get to reach. This is a miracle factory! Yes. A Miracle Factory. Freedom.

Walked in there tonight and grabbed some priority mail envelopes. I ended up getting a bad paper cut. They were sharp like razor blades. There needs to be a box of bandages inside of the post office. This is not good at all.

The people at the local Etown office are very nice and professional. However, whoever delivered my package today, Sunday December 22nd, did a very poor job. I was at my office with the door open and the lights on and instead of coming in and handing me the package they took it to the back door and apparently placed it in a rental payment drop box which I do not own and have no access to. Now I have to wait until Monday to get what I needed today because of someone not paying attention. My car was in the parking lot clearly visible. That sucks.

Im constantly getting notices that I need to go to the Post Office to pick up a package. When I arrive to get the package theres not any reason for the Post Office to handle these packages in this manner. No signature was necessary for any of the packages that I had to travel 12 miles one way to pick up. I was told the driveway was located in a dangerous place for the carrier to back out of it. I have UPS & FedEx deliveries that dont have a problem with turning around in my driveway but, always the USPS cant. Its either a lazy problem or a drivers ability problem rather then a dangerous one. I have a 32 foot gooseneck trailer that I can turn around in my driveway so I can pull out rather then back out of it. Ive complained several times with no change in the manner. The carrier still fails to deliver packages (too large for the mailbox) to the porch. After reading the other comments on here, it seems that complaining to the Post Master wouldnt solve the problem. Shameful!

I went in there today to send off a package and the cashier (angie), was extremely rude and seemed very displeased with her job. i was a little skeptical on asking her questions due to the fact that every response i got from her was rude and in a negative tone. i am very dissatisfied with my experience with the postal service and i really hope there is something done with her attitude. it was extremely unacceptable and made me feel uncomfortable.

Just moved into a new apartment, the mailboxes are locked and my landlord told me I would need to go to the post office and pay to get a key for it. I went down there on Wednesday, March 4th with a copy of my lease and filled out a form to request a key, and was told they would have the key ready by 12:00 the following day.I returned on Friday to ask if my key had come in, and they acted like they couldnt even find my request for the key I made on Wednesday. I refile my request for the key, and they told me to call before coming next time to save myself the drive.I called today, Monday, March 9th at 2PM to ask about my key, and after being put on hold for 10 minutes was told they dont service my area, and I need to contact my landlord for the key. I called my landlord who verified I need to take my lease with me and file for a key from the post office, which is of course what I have already done TWICE now. I call the post office back at 3PM and got a woman who tells me to, once again, bring in a copy of my lease, pay a fee, and they will have the key ready by noon Tuesday or Thursday.I am going in tomorrow with my lease for the third time, to file a request for the key a third time, and am praying this will finally solve it. Im really displeased that I have to use my break from work a third time to file yet ANOTHER request with these guys, just to surely drive down there a fourth time on break this Thursday to actually pick the key up. Never wouldve imagined the post office to be this incompetent in regards to ordering a KEY!

Carriers decide if they want to deliver packages or mail on their whim, regardless of whether or not you paid for next day delivery or not. Carriers also leave sensitive mail on the doorstep if they are delivering a package. Evidently they find the task of putting mail in the box and putting packages on the doorstep on the same day to be too much effort. Sometimes if there is a package they need to deliver but don’t want to bother getting out of their vehicle for, they sometimes just leave the pink note in your box (yes I was at home and watched the mail carrier do this) even if it medication from the Veteran’s Affairs hospital. Maybe the carrier wanted it for himself. Eventually it got delivered.

If package wont fit in mailbox it will be left at mailbox in rain next to busy street. Luckily seller wrapped my electronics good enough to not get wet; even though box had packaging tape falling off of it from the cardboard being soaked.

As far as the office itself, Ive not had any issues, however when I Went to the mailbox to get my mail, the letters were covered in ants, TONS of ants, why you ask? Whoever delivered our mail was snacking on little debbie snack cakes and wiped their hands on the mail and not on their pants, or seat, or something OTHER than my mail. Eat if you need to, but please dont leave your food in my mailbox.

If you have a problem with mail delivery, you need to be very specific as to the day of the problem. Different carriers can be on your route and they can go to the specific person that carried your mail that day. They also have GPS and if you have a valid tracking number the post office CAN tell you exactly where it was delivered.

This is the worst post office in the world!!! The mail person just shows up whenever he or she feels like it (if at all), they are constantly putting our mail in our neighbors mail box or vice versa, and just today I was supposed to get two things but only got one of them. How is this possible since both items were mailed at the EXACT SAME TIME?!??!?! I dont know if they just purposely hire incompetent people or if the people that work there dont know how to do their jobs but this has gotten beyond ridiculous. As I said, sometimes the mail person comes in the afternoon, sometimes he/she doesnt show up until after 7:00 PM, and sometimes he/she doesnt show up at all. WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!!!

We live over in airview estates and we don’t get our mail until close to 6pm at night if we get it at all. The past two days we haven’t even gotten our mail. I was suppose to get a package yesterday and on the tracking number it said no access but they didn’t even try to deliver our mail. I’m getting super sick of it! You guys need to find more drivers or better drivers that are lazy! Cause anytime I get packages delivered they walk to to the door but don’t put no access on my tracking code when it wasn’t even attempted to be delivered cause we didn’t even get our mail!

Has lost my mail. Consistently delivers mail to neighbors. Have complained to the postmaster there to no avail. Its now Saturday evening 6 pm and still havent seen a single mail truck. Service non existing and sucks.

Waited forever for a parcel to arrive. It was scheduled to be delivered on Thursday but was delayed. I received a notification on Monday that it was out for delivery. Well Monday came and it still wasn’t delivered. Tuesday I went to the post office and spoke to the Post Master Jeff who said the package didn’t have the apt # on it so that’s why it wasn’t delivered. Later that day it was delivered to my porch and guess what the apt # is on there clear as could be.

Just had the worst experience today at the post office. Melanie was incredible rude and blamed it on having a headache. Headache or not thats not a way to treat someone. I hope that after talking to her supervisor her (Melanie) headache got worst. If you hate your job that much just quit and let someone who wants to work have your job.

Easily the worst post office I have had to deal with. They lost my wifes package for several weeks and didnt follow up a single time despite assuring us they would the five or so times we went in to check for it. Obviously unorganized, and mail always arrives late (sometimes as late as 6pm).

With the new rate increase perhaps USPS could hire someone to answer the phone! Instead we get a computer telling us to enter an extension or dial 0 for the receptionist. Dial 0 and we are told there is no receptionist available so leave a message. Try to leave a message and we are told we cannot leave a message because the message box is full. The place is an unprofessional joke.

Im sick and tired of having to wait until after 2 to get my mail if at all. It used to be delivered before 11. I keep getting my dads mail and he doesnt even live with me. I also get other peoples mail that used to live at my address. I have tried to sort it out and still it keeps happening. May just have to get a PO BOX.

The mail has come as late as 8PM in my area, if it shows up at all, Ive had other peoples mail in my mailbox (dozens of times), other people have received my mail by mistake and there are items that I was supposed to receive that never showed up. This is pathetic, if I did my job that poorly, I would have been fired long ago.

During the past 90 days: A check issued from the bank was never delivered; Ive received mail belonging to other residents and vice versa on numerous occasions; a package missing on 12/14/16 (and the resolve, a lot of package are stolen in your area, tell the shipper to file a claim); and, a package delivered 12/19/16 was bound with a rubber band, packaging and contents damaged. I filed an online complaint with the IG. I stayed home as a package, requiring signature, was scheduled for delivery today. I am the last house on a dead end street. There is always an excuse for the mail carrier to not drop off my mail in my box. Some of the reasons when we first moved in 4 years ago were legit. We have taken care of the complaints as to why our mail was not delivered. But to this day, 4 years later, we still get our mail withheld. The reasons are not legit. And Ill address this problem with the USPS Management. My mail will be delivered everyday but always running days behind. Then after a couple weeks it goes back to skipping my mail box again. And Ill have to complain again. Ill receive time sensitive mail after the due date has passed. I have damaged or opened mail delivered. And I have had important documents never make it to me at all and have to reorder. What a nightmare.

My wife went to this facility today to acquire a passport for my daughter. It makes her third appointment to do so. Every other time it’s been rescheduled due to an administrative error made by USPS employees. She scheduled her appointment online for 10:30 and arrives 15 minutes prior to the appointment as the website ask. Terrance Withers then sent her away stating “we don’t do this until 11am” she explained she scheduled appointment online through his organization where she was cut off and told “11am” no apology or explanation. She loaded my 7 month old back up and rode around to kill time. She returned at 11am to a rude Terrance Withers. Who explained her paperwork was once again incorrect. Paperwork given to her for the THIRD time by a USPS employee. I called to talk to Terrance Withers. He was extremely rude. First I explained that she scheduled appointment online through his organization.He said “we do them at 11am”I said “you need to have the site fixed then. Because YOUR organizations site let her schedule for 10:30.”His reply “I don’t need to fix that.” No apology, and no concern about fixing administrative errors for his organization.He then told me yelling at this point that “she had the wrong paperwork anyway.”I tried to explain through his yelling that said paperwork was given to her by a fellow USPS worker.He then yelled “I’ve been doing this for 10 years. I’m a veteran. Call Mitch McConnell!” Then hung up. Which I have. Along with the USPS postmaster, the Ky State Governors office, and several other government organizations. As someone that works in customer service I must say that I would NEVER treat a paying customer, or taxpayer this way. Especially when literally EVERY ASPECT OF ERROR WAS COMMITTED BY THE ORGANIZATION ITSELF. If this had been due to my wife’s negligence. I wouldn’t be writing this review. But as stated in the beginning this is the THIRD time she has done this. And the THIRD time. Someone with USPS services dropped the ball. It will however be the last time I use the services at this office. And hopefully this review helps make it the last time that Terrance Withers handles anything or anyone in a customer service aspect of USPS operations. He’s simply not qualified to deal with humans. His immaturity, and lack of professionalism has truly tarnished the reputation of his organization at least in my eyes. I will continue to file complaints with local, state, and federal government officials daily until I’m convinced that no customer is ever treated this way by Terrance Withers again.
