Peter and his crew from S & K were great to work with. They showed up on time and worked all through the day until 5. The job was big and took them a week, but I couldnt be happier with the results. It looks like Im coming home to a new house everyday. I would definitely use S&K again. Everyone in the office is super helpful. Tom came out to initially do the work contracts and he wasnt pushy at all, just very knowledgeable to help me make my decisions. The folks inside the shop were great helping me pick out colors. The window and door guys were also great. I am just very pleased with the professionalism of this organization.
Before making a decision with hiring S & K, we got several quotes from other roofing companies and they were the most least expensive and I would say they provided the most fair estimate for a townhome roof replacement. I could not express enough how satisfied I am with the outcome of this roof replacement. Matt the sales rep was very nice to deal with and the staff and contractors were punctual, efficient and delivered a quality product and service. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone who needs exterior projects for their property. Just hire them and you will not be disappointed.

Our experience with S&K was great! We needed to replace our roof and gutters, and took some time gathering quotes from a few companies. While S&K wasn’t the least expensive option, we were really impressed with how responsive the sales team was. Chris answered every question we had. They included a list of neighbors that had used their company for various services so we could get references and see color choices. We also stopped into the store to check colors for the roof, and the owner spent time talking with us about our options. The project was done in two parts. Our roof was replaced first, and the crew was on-time, friendly and efficient. They did a great job of cleaning throughout the process. The gutters were installed a few weeks later and again the crew was great. It took half the day on a super hot day, but they worked efficiently and installed the Bulldog gutter guard too. Everything looks wonderful, and we were so impressed with the customer service all the way around. We won’t hesitate to use them again for future projects and will recommend them to family and friends!

We recently had S&K install siding, Gutters, a small metal roof over the kitchen window and an exterior door on our 45 year old home. First the Operations Team helped us get the color just right by providing multiple addresses for us to drive by to see what the siding colors looked like in the real world. Then they helped us by providing the same info for the gutters. The siding crew Jae and Freddie were always here on time. Cleaned up the project at the end of every day. They were quick to point out issues we didnt even know we had and always had a workable solution at hand. I cannot stress enough how much they made me feel like a part of the installation team. Their workmanship was first class in every way. I could not have asked for a better team to side my house.The gutter crew arrived on a day when the heat index was supposed to be close to 110! They asked me to walk around the house with them to point out any areas I thought deserved special attention, like where the down spouts needed to be joined to our underground drainage system. This was most appreciated! They finished the job in a single day and cleaned up when they were done.The exterior door was exactly as we had ordered it and was installed but a very competent tradesman.The metal roof, although small was installed by an artisan, mho, and is a wonderful accent piece on the house.The Operations Team kept me informed as the job progressed so that I always felt someone was watching over my installation from the management of S&K. I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking high quality work, at a fair price.
I recently had S&K Roofing and Siding install Fiber Cement siding on the bay window area on my home.They did a fantastic job. The finished product is wonderful. S&K did an outstanding job installing a metal roof on our house and snow guards on the existing garage metal roof. Chad Ringold, manager, was very attentive to detail and made multiple site visits to write the proposal and monitor progress. The crew were very polite, professional, worked 12 hour days and cleaned the area thoroughly. The crew was mindful of my plants and koi pond, covering and uncovering daily for 4 days. They worked on a Saturday to finish after weather delays. I highly recommend S&K for roofing. They will be installing vertical Hardie Plank siding on the house shortly.
The 4 man crew lead by Dennes did an excellent job removing my old gutters and installing new 6 gutters and 3 x 4 downspouts. The crew members appeared to have worked together for a while because they worked together well, were very coordinated, and were very efficient. The quality of their workmanship was excellent and they cleaned up leaving nothing behind. The workers arrived on time and worked until the job was done, taking no breaks. I recently used S&K Roofing to replace my siding, gutters and side door and they did an amazing job! once my wife and I decided we wanted to take on these jobs we took the time to grab multiple quotes to make sure knew what our options were. The sales rep at S&K was thorough, accommodating and patient with all our questions. It was the main reason we went with them and they did not disappoint.The job was done in three stages.First was the side Door. Steven came in on a muggy Monday morning and was upbeat and very cordial. He did a wonderful job making our side door look and operate like weve wanted it to for years. He even took the extra time to adjust our storm door that had given us issues for about a year. A true craftsman!Second was our siding: Peter, Mr, Young, and crew were extremely kind, and always started early and worked through the day. They didnt mind that i was out there a lot hovering to see what was under my old siding. They explained what was being done every time they saw me outside and reassured me that i would love the end result- they were right! They wrapped our windows and doors in black trim and it looks just like painted wood - they can wrap anything! They made our house look brand new.Third phase was new gutters: Denis and crew came when they said they would and had beautiful, seamless gutters installed within 2.5hours all over our house and garage. They asked me how i wanted the down spouts cut and made everything look great.In the end, my wife and I are so glad that we went with S&K. I recently had work done on my home. New Shutters, gutters, fascia, and dentil molding. I had 4 companies come out and give me quotes. I chose S&K Roofing because they’ve been in business for a long time and have a stellar reputation. Mickey the sales manager is very knowledgeable and helpful. Mary their project scheduler was a pleasure to work with. She has a tough job during these difficult times with long lead times for materials. Mr. Lee and his crew did an outstanding job installing the shutters, fascia, and the dentil molding. It was not an easy job. I was very impressed with their work. Dennis and his crew installed the gutters, downspouts, and gutter covers. Again, not an easy job. And again, I was very happy with the finished worked.
We had an issue with a new skylight leaking in a new roof. Contacting the person who originally installed them was not an option, so we called several companies in an attempt to get the leak repaired. Two companies wanted to replace the skylights in addition to repairing the roof at a cost of several thousand dollars.S&K responded quickly to our call and had Sean Toms out to see us within days. He was the ONLY person to actually get on the roof and look closely to diagnose the problem. He actually called the skylight manufacturer for information while he was on the roof to discuss the needed repairs. Turns out the skylights did NOT need to be replaced, just the roofing/shingles around them. Also while on the roof (not even knowing if we would eventually choose his company to do the work) Mr. Toms caulked the skylights as a temporary fix. He gave us a written estimate on the spot that was about a quarter of the price others quoted.The estimate and down payment were completed on a Monday, the repair crew was there that Thursday and the work was done in just a few hours. The crew took pictures of the work they completed and showed them to us before leaving to make sure we were satisfied with what theyd done.Overall we were so impressed with the ethics and professionalism of this company, Mr. Toms in particular. Wed highly recommend them to anyone needing roof repair.

A piece of siding came off my roof. I got two estimates, S&Ks was lower. Both salesmen said the piece of siding was damaged (it was, but siding has lots of slots for nails) and implied it shouldnt be reinstalled. There were suggestions I should get the whole side replaced. Insurance inspector said theres nothing really wrong with the old bit that fell off. I signed the contract which included a new patch of fresh siding. I ended up asking the worker to install the old one, which matched the color. so.. I ended up buying the extra bit of siding that I suppose I can use later. All told, I dont think you can expect anything more than this so Im giving it five stars. The worker they sent to do the repair was great: professional, thorough.The first guy (not S&K) that came by offered to haul off the bit of siding that fell off. How generous. that would have been a mistake since I was able to reuse it, and the faded color matched... If I hadnt saved it I might have needed the whole side replaced to match color.
We went with S&K for our new windows. They were very comparable in pricing and had a much better reputation than others with in the same price range. In fact we had recommended them to 2 of our friends prior to our installation based on their professionalism during the initial visit as well as the measurement visit. We are glad we did. Installation was great. A two day project (24 windows) all the windows in the first day and only needed half the next day to finish outside work.
We needed to replace our 20-year old roof and get soffit, fascia and guttering work done too. We solicited 5 proposals from highly-referenced companies large and small, and the process of evaluating them was akin to comparing apples, oranges, lawn tractors, frozen meat and cinder blocks. The exercise was a lesson in one cannot price-shop and in the end, you need to trust your instincts.We hired S&K despite being second-highest in cost, because the estimating process was thorough, professional and transparent. The contract was clear and fair (one of us is an attorney, and we know a one-sided contract when we see one - theirs is not that way at all), and the work was scheduled and occurred with timeliness and professionalism without exception. We observed tremendous attention to detail, including communication, courtesy and impeccable cleanup.We would use S&K again for anything in their bailiwick and would recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

We had some missing shingles on our 25 year old roof due to a strong wind storm. Our salesman Eric, came out and gave us a reasonable estimate and we had a new roof within a week. S&K was excellent in their service for installing brand new Now Worry gutters at my house. It was big job and took over 8 hours but the team was exceptional, very courteous and professional. The job was well done and the gutters look fantastic. They cleaned after the job with no debris left at all. I would highly recommend S&K for installing new gutters.

The roof and gutters were just installed a week ago so cant comment on performance but they look great. Always a challenge finding the actual reputable contractors behind the wall of potentially self-written reviews. The task is made that much harder when you are only an intermittent user of contractors. That would be me. I had rake boards filled with carpenter bees, and I spent way too much time prevaricating about getting it repaired. In stepped S&K. They came and did the estimate, and two weeks later pushed me up on the schedule and repaired the damage. Replaced rotten rake boards on all those difficult-to-access gable-ends and then wrapped the whole job in brand new aluminum sheeting. Just a lovely piece of work. Looks like a new house. Thorough clean-up. Minimal interaction on-site. All masked up when there had to be. Fearlessly recommend. (Afterwards we felt kind of bad about all the bumbling carpenter bees flying around homeless, so we built a bee hotel. Someone has to pollinate after all).
Extremely satisfied. Good, clear pricing, crews were prompt and carefully cleaned the area after the roof and gutter installations, and also ripped down a few creeper vines that I might have let get out of hand. Wish Id given them a call years ago instead of nailing patches in place after every big storm.

We worked directly with Don, the President and CEO of S&K for our initial estimate, and after having gone through seven other companies, decided to have all of our work performed by S&K. We had a huge leak several weeks ago, which damaged the living room ceiling. S&K came out, gave us the cause of leak and said we needed a new attic fan. They installed the new fan and repaired the damaged roof in less than 2 hours. Excellent work.
This review is about 3 years overdue, if not longer. I was a window installer for S and K from 2015 to 2018. I have installed for almost every window replacement company in the DMV area and S and K is by far the best as it gets. S and K truly is the Best priced, low pressure, genuine window company in that region. They are one big family and treat every customer as they are.In 16 years of installing windows I have never worked for a company that actually has gave the homeowner what they paid for until S and K. It was just a sigh of relief that I had finally found an honest company. Most of the other companies always want you to fabricate someones home, or cut down brand new windows to make them fit. As a quality installer, that never sat with me well because I know that fabricating things could lead to problems down the road. Thats why the Head of hiring installers, Brad, and I got along so well, he knows the value of a quality install and he will accept nothing but the best quality on their jobs. A bad install would have him pulling his hair out.Since moving to Tennessee I have had family and friends call for window company recommendation and by far no other company would come before these guys. Id trust them with my life, not just my house.

We used SandK to redo front porch in trex 6yrs ago. They did a fantastic job it looks great and adds to the looks of the front of house. So this year we decided to do the deck in Trex and called on SandK. Same crew who did front porch did our deck. The Deck turned out fantastic the crew was very accomodating to oour wishes and cleaned up at the end of each day. Iwould highly recommend SandK for your home improvement jobs and we will go to them again in future if needed.

S&K Replaced all 16 windows in less than 6 hours. The men were hard working, dedicated to make sure all windows were installed perfectly, and very polite. Every piece of scrap was picked up and hauled away. We were given a demo to make sure we knew how to work the windows. I believe the price was fair. Also, every time I emailed a question, the answer came back usually the same day. I really liked that. My windows are so beautiful that I did not want to put curtains back up!!! I would definitely use the company again.
S & K installed new windows throughout our house. We are very happy with the installation and the windows themselves. Their price was right for great quality windows. We should know since we got about 15 other quotes before hiring them. Furthermore, no silly games that other window companies play with high pressure sales etc - just a good quality window at a great price.Due to covid the lead times are very long for windows. This was not their fault though and when the windows did come in Dane called right away and got us scheduled quickly. When we ran into an issue with some wrapping beneath a window that we did not like they were very responsive. Brad called to check in before I even had a chance to contact him. He agreed with my concerns and he vowed to make it right. They came back and redid that portion of the job and we are now very happy with it. We will be working with S&K on all our future exterior work - thank you!

My husband and I have been customers of S & K for many years and have never been disappointed. They have replaced windows, installed a metal roof, replaced all of our gutters and are now updating our Sun Room windows and door. The prices are very fair, but you just can’t beat how excellent their installers are. We have a very old home and it takes time to make sure new windows and doors fit when everything isn’t perfectly level in our home. So far the door has been replaced and it was installed perfectly. We are really looking forward to our new windows soon.

In addition to using S&K to replace our aging windows, we recently had them do a new cut-out of a double window in our kitchen area. Jon and Carroll, their two very experienced carpenters, worked amazingly and confidently together in a neat and efficient manor. It was a little scary to have a big hole cut into your wall and siding but within one day, the new double window looked perfect. Wish we had hired S&K years ago to do this since there is so much more light coming in now.

S&K Roofing installed a roof, gutters and exterior door at our home recently. The roof and gutters look great, but there were some marks left on our white siding during installation. S&K came out to address promptly and went above and beyond the resolve the situation. The exterior door installation was excellent. As the installers and individuals working in the office were great. The only hiccup was with the sales process. We decided to purchase windows from another contractor and the S&K sales person responded unprofessionally when I explained the decision. Beyond that one hiccup during the sales experience, S&K were great.
I called S & K over the summer about a vinyl siding repair. The lady who answered was rude and said “they are only doing roofs right now” and hung up. I called back in December to get an estimate on my siding repair and they scheduled an appointment. I received an estimate a few days later. I did not use them nor would I recommend them. I got 4 estimates for this job and S & K was more then 3X one estimate and 2X the other two. I asked them to break down their cost so I could understand the numbers: materials, labor, how many people would be on my property to do the work, how long it would take, etc. They refused to provide that information. They did however inform me they donate $40,000 to local charities every year which although is admirable people should know where there hard earned money is going when they pay their asking price. Bottom line: Do your due diligence and shop around. I’m sure they give a quality product but so do a lot of other people in the same business and you will pay a whole lot less.
Installation of my roof was completed last week by S&K. I was referred by my neighbor who researched the best business to complete our roof project.The crew worked with precision, professionalism, and craftsmanship to get the project completed in one day. Everyone that I met in the office, sales, and operations was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Staff spent time helping me finalize my selection of shingles with sample boards and recommendations. Crystal helped me to finalize my choice, which I am very happy with.
The crew arrived promptly, informed us they had arrived, and quickly completed all work. When done, they removed all debris from our house and yard. The quality of the work is great. I would definitely call S and K again for similar work (wrapped soffits, gutter installation).

Absolute best people and best service. S&K has helped me on two houses now! They helped me out in a bind on my townhouse.. fast forward a few years and we purchased a new house, we were told the roof needed to be done but wanted to get some more time out of it. Within the first month of ownership we found out the home inspector missed a few things. I called up my friends at S&K and they came right away. They fixed the issue without even charging me! They have my business for life. When we were ready they were the call. They got the new roof installed with no issues! Amazing people from top to bottom. Communication is great. Huge shout out!

S & K replaced my aluminum barn roof w/ 29 gauge Fabral Grand Rib 3 roofing material in November 2016. Great experience. Material delivered as scheduled. Roofing team arrived as promised. Organized & job completed quickly & neatly. Debris & nails/screws cleaned up. Once completed the 1975 green siding showed its age. Time to contact S & K again. Could I have the siding on the front & side of barn replaced. Shane came out again & measured. Ernesto the metal magician came out & measured as well. I chose the color. Material was delivered as scheduled with the team present to safely guide the material to the barn. They quickly went to work & completed this job just as quickly & neatly as the roof. Renovations are more difficult because all of the errors which were made in the original construction are literally etched in stone & have to be dealt with as is. Cudos to the creativity of the team in meeting the challenges. My barn looks like new. I am a hard sell but this group did a great job from beginning to end of both projects. Thank you S & K! PS Please note that the daffodils were not damaged. 2-3 men walking around-pretty impressive!

S&K replaced our front door and sidelights and were very pleased with the quality of the install, the door, and the customer service. They arrived early, answered all of my questions, and did a thorough cleanup afterwards. I would highly recommend them for any future work.

S&K recently replaced our roof and replaced/upgraded our gutters and downspouts to a larger size for better water flow and drainage. They also added gutter covers on all the gutters so that they don’t have to cleaned every year. Net, the house looks new from the outside. A job very well done. Mickey, who provided the estimate did a great job and what I liked was the “no pressure” presentation of the estimate. The office staff were a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job of scheduling the work, and invoice management. Shout out to Mary, Cindy, and Katie in the office.Both the roofing and gutter/downspout crews were very punctual, friendly, courteous, and cleaned up very well after the work was completed. S&K tweaked a couple of things to our satisfaction. The QC inspector, stopped by and ensured that everything was okay. Very pleased with quality of workmanship.Overall, great experience from beginning to end.
Excellent installation job. The workers did a great clean up job and were very courteous . The salesman understood my issues and did not try and “over sell” , but offered exactly what was needed.
S&K replace our roof several years ago and it has been wonderful. We have a slate roof and recently a slate was broken. We had them come out to replace it. They do a perfect, professional job.

I had my siding done using vinyl cedar board that came with foam insulation. First of all the pricing is fair and within market estimate. The quality of the product is also top notch. When we went to the show room, it was well organized and people were warm and friendly. They also gave many samples and options! When it came time for installation, Duk Woo and his crew were punctual, well mannered, hard working, and very good at what they do. Whoever hires S&K, please treat the workers well. S&K responded promptly to our request for an estimate on roofing. Their sales person quickly told us that the water issue we were experiencing is most likely due to our chimney and that we did not need a new roof, with the exception of a section of flat roofing. We really appreciated their honesty. They provided reasonable estimates for the smaller job, with an option for adding a roof vent to the existing roof and walked us through the considerations for whether that addition would be worthwhile. We decided to go with them, and they quickly scheduled and completed the work, leaving the worksite very clean. Its only been one day, but already, we feel the benefits in terms of cooling, both of the roof vent and of having new, light colored roofing with improved insulation over one part of our house.
S&K roofing did a great job. They were quick efficient, arrived on time and cleaned my yard after they were done. I had shudders replaced and also a faux gable vent replaced that blew off years ago. If I ever need my roof replaced, I would not hesitate to use them!

My wife and I chose S & K in Eldersburg to replace our roof and gutters. Our salesman Eric performed the estimate and was available to answer several rounds of questions as we considered various proposals. The S & K quote and info folder was very detailed and included information about the materials and procedures involved in the process. We ended up choosing the gutter and shingle colors by looking at recently completed projects in the area. The job was scheduled and completed less than two weeks from the date I called to set up the estimate. Crystal, Mary and Katie coordinated the appointments and payment arrangements from the office and followed up once the jobs were completed. Heber and Dennes crew installed my roof and Joses crew did my gutters on separate visits. My yard was left spotless on both occasions. I also had two old skylights replaced while there were onsite. I highly recommend S & K.
Very impressed with S&K. Sean came out to look at a leak we had a few years after getting a new roof from them. He was quickly able to diagnose and fix the issue, and even fixed something else that wasn’t under warranty while he was up there. Really appreciate the professionalism. Happy customer!
We recently had our old skylight replaced by S&K. The workers showed up on time and finished the job quickly. They cleaned up nicely. The new skylight looks much better than the older one inside and out.
I had 9 roofers come over to inspect around 1000 sq feet of flat roof and two skylights. I only called companies with 150+ Angies List and Google ratings. When I called S&K to make an appointment I had some questions about the materials used - they immediately put me in touch with Tom (VP, and has been with S&K forever). Somehow I acquired an education about flat roofs and materials after reading a 100-page UNLV study on flat roof materials and longevity. There wasnt anything I asked Tom that he didnt know a lot about. Most of the guys from other roofing companies didnt even get on my roof to inspect (they use google earth). Instead, they showed up with a portfolio of pretty white TPO squares for me to play with, then promised me a 25-year roof warranty. Ive got enough TPO samples from these guys to glue together and roll them out to install a new roof. The way I see it, if youre going to do my roof right, then I dont need 25 years of warranty. Then I talked to Tom at S&K and he told me hed come out and personally climb my roof and see whats going on. Toms a VP - hes got a ton of other stuff going on and plenty of business -- he didnt have to come to DC (who would even want to?!), but thats their customer service. He helped me get my roofing permit in DC too - I emailed him at least 25 times one day with screenshots of the permit questions that baffled me and he immediately got back with the answers (he advocated in email with the Arts Commission so I could bypass having to get an additional permit, saving me more money). He gave us a great price to replace our roof and skylights - the crew did craftsman-quality work - two large roofs, two skylights to perfection. They went above & beyond to accommodate us. Scheduling was easy and friendly - excellent communication the entire process. I got to use my credit card (without fees). I cant really imagine youd find a better crew and roofing company. The roof replacement was scheduled quickly. On the day of the job, the roof tech & crew led by Jose were on-time and work was completed on-time with quality. What I liked during the roof and gutter inspection, our Salesman, Eric Myers, told us what problems our home had . He also noticed that the rubber boots around our roof exhausts were bad and replaced them. This small detail swayed me to chose S & K Roofing over the other three companies that gave us a bids on our projects. The crews that installed our roofing and gutters explained what they were going to do and asked us if we had any questions. Both crews did an excellent job and I would recommend and use S &K Roofing, Siding and Windows for future projects.
