Honestly would give 0 stars if possible. In June came in to get my car fixed, it had a code for timing chain stretch. Car still ran completely fine, just decided to get the chain fixed before it became an issue. I bought my own timing chain which they agreed to install. After installing it, the car was having new issues (stalling, loud slapping coming from chain) so I paid more money to have them replace it. This time not using my own parts, I let them order the parts. After roughly 6 weeks and $3100 dollars later, my car no longer runs. Upon receiving my car after paying them the second time, it ran for less than a day. My car came in running, and had to get towed home.Edit 1: So it turns out when they say call the store, they dont mean it! Apparently Im too naive to realize that its an automatic system that responds to these. When I called the owner told me that he hadnt even looked at the review and that would and hed get back to me. Its been 2 weeks.If you are looking for someone to destroy your car, this is your place.

Was told over the phone that they could get two rusted out exhaust system studs but I had to bring it in to get an accurate appraisal. Took it in and was told they couldnt do what I needed and they would have to replace two parts for around $400 to fix it!! Neither part was bad, I had crawled under it and checked the whole system out! Bought a small torch set from Menards and had both studs out in less than an hour! A big torch and a lift probably would have taken all of 15 minutes! This place is looking to rip people off. I will never use them for any work and will be posting my experience on social media for all to see!!!

Extremely fast service. The price point was spot on. Great value. Friendly staff as well as helpful. I dropped the car off and was out the door in minutes with their shuttle service. I went in for a muffler repair and I couldnt be happier with the results. Thank you all so much!

Amazing customer service. Problems with their scheduling program booked my appointment for the wrong day, and they were unable to be finished when I had originally booked. The manager promised he would take care of it that day and offered to discount the price of my Uber home and back from the final bill of the service. Every staff member I interacted with was very polite, and I was extremely happy with the service done.

I have been coming to merlins ever since I moved to this area about 6 years ago. They always treat me well and are fast and efficient. They have gone above and beyond to explain any issues and get repairs done quickly. Oil changes are inexpensive and done quickly.

After doing business with other auto shops this is by far the worst I have been to. If you like getting charged almost double what others charge while people who look like they are addicted to meth work on your car this is the place for you. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else or get overcharged.

My parents and I have been taking our vehicles to Merlins for years. I was so disappointed when i had to spend over $2000 dollars to keep my car going. I took my vehicle there to get the brake lines fixed and was told i was going to have to pay $2300.They would not just fix the brake lines without fixing brake pads, rotors, calibers. It was a mess and I did not have any issues with those other things. I told them i was going to go and get a second opinion.I went to pick up my vehicle and the car would not start. I ended up having to get it towed again and found out the battery and the alternator were dead!How does that happen when i had no problems with either of those. and I had already paid them to fix the starter earlier in the year. I started to read the reviews and started noticing a trend and got angry again.Its so hard to find an honest mechanic and we thought we had found them and we were sadly mistaken.My parents experience was similar as they took their vehicle there and was told it was something that wasnt even the problem. They ended up taking it to the dealership and they fixed it.I hope this helps someone and I hope Merlins can get it together.

I’ve come to Merlin’s quite a few times just for my oil changes… But my very last visit was extremely pleasant. A gentleman by the name of Jake helped me and he was extremely helpful and polite! He took the time to explain to me about all the services that are provided there. I’ve never had any problems coming there and I can guarantee I will be a lifelong customer now!

Great service. The manager Kenny goes out of his way, and above and beyond to make sure he gets the job done right. Couldnt ask for better business when it comes to making sure the customer is satisfied! Had a wheel bearing replaced and sounds so quiet now. I make an appointment for both mine and my husbands vehicles oil changes and take them in together and they have both cars completed and ready to go in a timely manner. Well first off went the for a alignment and my steering is so jack up now and my battery died brand new battery not even a month old yet and my alternator went out when I went there for alignment and now got bad battery and a bad alternator and less then a year old to now and I’m getting in contact with my lawyer now to go forward with a lawsuit now because they messed my car up and there is something going to get done and something will happen to there shop it is going to get shut down

This place is a joke and way too over priced. I asked the manager Kenny to check the steering wheel for a short in the turn signal wires. The turn signals worked but would short out. Their first mistake was lying to my husband and I about the cost of the job. Saying one minute it would be close to 300 with the diagnostic price then next minute saying it will be 500 dollars. Second mistake was telling me to my face when I go to get the vehicle that they did not do the diagnostic test on the vehicle cause the turn signals were working. When I told them to check for the shortage in the turn signals earlier. Third was keeping my vehicle from 8am to 3pm and not calling me when it was ready. After I requested they call me because my husband was at work. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! They are scammers and liars. If you do take your vehicle there(I pray you dont) always get paperwork for anything there.

I have been coming to Merlin to keep my 2007 Grand Prix in tip top shape. I brought it infor an alignment and a 12K maintenance. I was more than displeased with the results. Thealignment could not be fully done, because they needed another machine. Yet I was still fullycharged for it. On the 12K there were a few problems. The A/C has problems, yet I was not evenmentioned about them when they checked it. The doors were not lubricated since they still squeakand all I had to do was just simply putt some WD 40 and they no longer squeaked. Now somethingas simply as checking the tire pressure and filling up a tire was not even done. When I checked onmy screen they were all still the same way I had left them. If small things like these were not donecorrectly or even checked there are bigger jobs that are of greater importance to the safety of meand my car that just can not be trusted.

Went in for a transmission oil change and the price was clearly marked $109. My wife came in later to pay and they charged $120 + tax for a total of 128 but lied and said the difference was all tax. I later went in to get a refund and they were apologetic but, they clearly lied and took advantage of my wife. Im very reluctant to return if I cant trust their word.

I actually here right now and after reading these reviews Im starting to think theyre scamming me too! My brakes started squealing a couple of days ago and I brought it to them to get new pads on. Now theyre saying that my car isnt safe, that the caliper and rotor have a hole in it and it needs to be towed. The car had been fine and I asked to just put the pads on and they refused to let it go unsafe and do work wont fix the problem. Theyre making it sound like Ill go down the road and kill someone or myself. They said itll need to be towed if it leaves here. Funny how I just had the rear pads done last month by someone else and they didnt find this problem

Worst service I have ever received. About a month ago, I went and got my oil changed. They were close by so I thought I would give them a try. The man I talked to was polite and all was going well until he asked me if I wanted to upgrade my service to get my tires rotated, wipers replaced, and filter changed. I thought sure, why not. I probably did need those things done anyway. I sat and waited patiently for them to finish. They pulled my car out into the parking lot and gave me the keys. I notice that something was wrong as soon as I put my foot on the gas. everything was wobbling. I got out, looked at the guy and he gives me a dumb look. I say, didnt you notice that my cars felt weird when you drove it out to me. He said no, is it acting funny? I open the door for him to drive it. He gets out. Oh yeah he didnt put the nuts back on your car. (Oh! and you were going to let me drive away like that!) I didnt say that but I should have. the nice manager guy comes back out and looks a little embarrassed. He tells me that the guy working on my car was in a rush to leave and probably forgot to put the bolts back on. He apologizes profusely and offers me a free oil change next time I come in. My car was still making a weird noise after I left but I didnt care I was too upset to be there any longer. I should have fought him on this. Skip forward to today. The noise was getting louder and louder on my way home from work and I can feel my left wheel wobbling. I slow down and turn on my hazards. when I was in a safe spot I pulled over to check my tires. two of my bolts were missing from my tire. one was laying on the ground when I got out and appeared to be broken. I went to a different mechanic and hell have to look at it tomorrow. Im so upset right now. I should have never taken my car there. oh! and one of my wipers isnt working. Not sure if that was them but they did touch it so I can only presume. Any advice as to how I should go about this situation legally? Let me know!

Bought 4 new tires... lost a hubcap, it was probably lost in the beginning😑 and shaking in the front end now.... came back to get a alignment and asked them to check the tire that shakes... and didnt do it.. dont ever come here. They care about nothing but the money and not their service..

I have used Merlin for the past 5 or so years when i need car repairs and have always referred them to anyone asking about car repair places. When i noticed my car was leaking fuel, i didnt hesitate taking my car to Merlin because i always trust they are honest and fair! I received the quote of $720 to repair the rusty fuel lines, so i approved the fee and asked they change the oil too while it was there. They said it would be completed by end of day, so i stopped by at 545 to pick up my car. Kenny had already left, so the other guy was ringing me up. I gave him a coupon for a $20 oil change and he said dont worry about it, we arent going to charge you for it. I asked if he was sure it was done and he said yes. The total he said was $800, which was $80 more than the original quote. I had him call Kenny and i guess they didnt apply a disscount to my bill (?) and it brought it down to $730 (still $10 more, but i can deal with that). Next day i checked my oil since i was concerned it wasnt completed and the oil looked dark and was on the minimum spot on the dipstick. I called and talked to Kenny and told him my concern. He said he knows it was completed and was checking on it. I told him it was a qt low and dark, i didnt think it was done. He then said oh we had another car in with the same issues, so your oil wasnt changed. Since it wasnt on the original qork order they didnt completeit.hHe Never apologized or tried to even make it right... , i am sooo disappointed.... if i didnt question it i would have assumed it was done. What else do they lie about or try and cover up?? Such a disappointment, i will not recommend again....

I had been taking my vehicle to Merlins for the past few years and have had a great experience in getting my oil changes. My vehicle had some noise in the front left tire. I dropped my vehicle off on 3/9/19 and was told the shop couldnt find hear any noise, due to the rain. I then dropped my vehicle back off on 3/17/19 at night so they could check the vehicle on Monday. I received a call around 12:30pm stating they still couldnt hear anything but thought it could be one of two issues. Sway bar links or struts. I was quoted for both and went with the lesser of the two and spent $279.00 for two sway bar links. I went to pick my vehicle up, paid for the work done, hoped in my car, and before I could get out of the parking lot I heard the same noise. I took two separate trips to Merlins to drop off my vehicle and was told no one could hear any noise. I pulled back in and the shop manager sent someone out for a ride with me. As we were backing out of the parking lot, the technician said, was that it? I said yes. He said oh that sounds like a strut. I said thats weird I had my vehicle here two different days and was told that no one could hear it. During the ride, I was not upset nor was I mad, I just wanted my vehicle fixed. The guy who came on the ride with me is the same one who looked at my vehicle on Monday morning. I asked if he heard it and he told me to take him back to the shop, he is busy, and he has things to do. He also said this is what happens when people try to self diagnose. I said I didnt diagnose, I actually dropped it off to be looked at twice. I let him know I already turned around and was heading back to the shop. The guy/kid I was with then sat forward in the passenger seat and starting running his mouth. At one point I said, are you fing kidding me? He said no, Im not fing kidding you. Its not my fault you drove my car twice and couldnt figure it out. I get in my vehicle once and move 6 ft and could hear the noise. The way I was treated in my vehicle, Ill just say I have never seen anything like it. He said if I heard the vehicle noise in the parking lot, then why did we test drive down the road. I said because the two days it was at the shop, no one could hear it so I wanted to make sure you heard it this time. For the first time in years, I thought I was going to to get into a fight for no reason. Im not sure if this guy was hungover or was in a hurry because he stated he needed to get back to work (the drive was 7 minutes). this was around 430/5pm they closed at 6. Regardless, I have never been spoken to like I was that day by anyone in my entire life...ever. I was shocked, still am shocked. This is my first review on google. I walked into the shop heated and told Ken exactly what happened. He offered to fix it for a deal, an additoanl $500. Well, I cant trust my vehicle at this shop anymore with that guy working there. That is how tense this ride was and I was seconds away from pulling over and dropping him off or having confirmation. The closer we got to the shop the more intense and slur words he used. It has been 5 days since the incident, Merlins has pulled the $270.00 from my account and no one has followed up with me. What happened in that car was mind blowing and I have never experienced anything like this. He would not work for my company and I believe he wouldnt be working for Merlins if this incident was recorded. What is more astonishing is no one ever called to follow up with me but they sure ran my debit card and my car is still not fixed. Im out $270.00 and will spread the word fearlessly and promote what happened unless I can get some resolution. At this point, Im doubtful of them even calling. $270.00 will actually cost this location in the long run. I had been faithfully taking two vehicles and planned too for years to come.

I have had great experiences at other Merlins locations, but this place is a joke!After making an appointment, left my car at 9 am for exhaust repair, I got no phone calls with a status of the repair, by 6 pm it had not been started, with no explanation or apology. Took my car to another shop, and the exhaust repair, which was so minor, that it was done in 5 minutes at no charge.

Absolutely terrible place! Didnt even want to give it one star but I had to in order to leave a review . Drove my trailblazer there one day and they diagnosed the problem and said it would take a couple days. I had no worries because I had the cash that they estimated to fix it. After 4 days I had to keep calling them to see if they were done and they kept telling me it would be another few days and more stuff kept coming up that was causing problems. After a month and a half ( no exaggeration) i call and the manager says sorry maam but we cant fix your vehicle!!! When i get there, my truck is not even driveable and i had to have Tony n Sons tow it to their shop where within an hour they informed me my motor was blown up. Very inexperienced staff and ive know numerous people who have also had terrible experiences since mine. Surprised they are not shut down yet.

Absolutely horrible experience. I have taken my vehicle here 3 times. Fist time worked out well. The second time they replaced my control arms. I am on my way to work after getting it out of this shop and noticed wobble in my front end while braking. Figured it was bad brakes. After contacting the shop I expressed what had happened to the shop manager. He said his guys coundlnt have messed it up, but that he would look at it. A day later I get a call from the manager telling me he found no issue with my vehicle. After leaving on my way home I notice I now have a check engine light on in my car. (Which I did not have prior to taking it in ever). I called a different shop at this point to explain the front end wobble and now the check engine light. Ended up being cam shaft sensor and o2 sensor. ( fishy to me but no proff of foul play) had the sensors replaced but they were unable to locate the wobble. So I ignored it thinking it was fine and trusting the mechanics at the merlins shop did know what they were doing. But I was wrong. A few day ago I am driving home from work and had to make an emergency stop due to the car in front of me. My vehicle jerked hard to the right and I almost sideswiped another car. So I take it to a 3rd shop the same day. They check it out and after a day call me and explain that my control arms on my vehicle were extremely lose. They advised me to contact the shop that did the work and ask for them to help on the bill for the repair. So I did. I took the video of how lose both control arms on the right and left side of the car. I proceeded to head to merlins and speak with the same manager. I shoe home the paper work stating the price of repair. Then show him the video. He denied it and asked if it was true why didnt I bring it back to him. I then explained to him I did and they were unable to find it and that after that visit I had a check engine light on. After a brief argument and and exchange of words I walk out. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. Management is horrible. And there is a cooperate number but good luck getting a call back.

This place always causes extra problems to your vehicle to cypher extra money out of hard working citizens, they told me I needed an oil filter after an oilchange and that’s typically included with the service , then they tried to charge me $80 to replace it...Don’t come to this place they will rip you off and cause extra problems to your vehicle!

I began going to Merlins an little over a year ago. I just bought a new car that needed new breaks so in May of 2014 I went there and had new breaks, front roter, and a new ball joint put on. Shortly after I started to hear squeeking again. I didnt go get it checked right away because I thought I had a full break check and everything was fixed that needed to be. In November of 2014 I came in for an oil change and life with an estimate for back breaks that I now needed done. Very shortly after I started to hear a knocking when I would break. I had started to get a bad feeling about Merlins so I took my car somewhere else when I needed new tires, new sway bar and CV boot. They told me to return to Merlins to ask about their brake work because of the knocking noise. So one last time I needed an oil change and decided I would head to Merlins and then I could also ask them about the noise I was hearing. They took off my front passenger tire and told me that the lower arm bar needs replaced and gave me a quote of $901! They said it was dangerous and I should get it fixed as soon as possible. They said the control bar comes with a ball joint and I asked if the ball joint comes with a lower arm bar..because they replaced my ball joint a year ago and I never heard anything about my lower arm bar being bad. I thought this estimate sounded just a bit ridiculous so I thought Id get a second opinion. I took it to another mechanic who test drove it and looked it over and says I have no problem with my lower control bar and that the sound isnt coming from that but from how my back breaks were put on. Merlins also didnt tell me my exhaust system was about to fall off. My new mechanic showed me and it doesnt even take a mechanic to see that. Im shocked they never said a word of that. I should have listened to my intuition sooner but at least I did before I spent that much on something that wasnt even broken by sharing this. Please be weary of Merlins and anything they quote you! Get a second opinion! Dont support them

This place likes to waste peoples time, tell them they arent busy, tell them to come on down all nonchalant, never ask if they want to make an appointment, then when you come there 25 mins later tell you theyre all full up for the night. Theres an hour of my time i wont be getting back. Sorry i dont live next door. Your customer service sucks.

Mechanics have no experience,unless you want junk yard mechanics working on your car. Managers are not much better, they should be selling shoes. They fix everything except whatyou need. They should all be drug tested!
