Great locally owned ski & bike shop that really cares about getting you on the right gear and spreading stoke. Ive been using them since I moved to Durango for ski tuning but just started using them to help build up my new hardtail mtb. Andrew, the lead bike tech is really passionate and knowledgeable. I wont bring my skis or bike anywhere else.

Decided to rent a paddleboard last minute and called these guys up. Ended up being a great price and super-easy. If you need paddleboard rentals these guys are great, they rented them to us deflated and in bags so they were easier to transport.

I went there to buy my first pair of ski boots. Brad was great and spent a great deal of time figuring out what boot would be best for my feet. I highly recommend as the customer service and knowledge is the best.

I rented gear on New Years Day for a party of 6 people. The entire staff was amazingly patient, kind, and helpful, despite the disorder brought upon them by a party of six, including two children under 8 years old. Special shout-out to Kyle who went out of his way to help me when they didn’t have boots in my size up front. He went and found some that would work and was very helpful throughout our experience. This is the third or fourth time we’ve rented from Ski Barn and we have never had a bad experience.

Incredible customer service for this local business. Affordable ski tune ups and rentals. I recently purchased new ski boots and had the most thorough and professional sizing appointment to get me into the most comfortable boots possible for my unique foot shape and stance. And Bill, the owner, also honored a sale discount despite me missing the actual sale.

I reserved online. Then when I arrived did not have boots which fit me. They sent my out with boots too small, which caused bruises. They helped other customers behind me; before me. The return process was easy.UpdateSki barn has refunded my rental fee.

Came in to buy some last-minute gifts at the ski barn I went in and was racially profiled by employees due to my disability . And was harassed and humiliated by the employees there. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I pretty sad so about so if you have a disability and you go in there you better take your papers saying you’re disabled that’s what they asked for in there. I told the ada discrimination like this.

Nothing but good things to say about everyone at Ski Barn....in the last couple years I have demoed skis there, rented packages for my kids, and bought skis, boots and bindings from them....AWESOME staff!!! Just did a boot fitting with Brad....super helpful...cant wait to hit the slopes!!!!

Ski barn was great! I returned my skis and poles and found out that ski barn has a new program, you can rent bikes. One rental is half the price of the bike the second is the other half. You get to keep the bike after the second rental. Free tune ups for a year after your second and first rentals!

Ski Barn is crushing it. I’ve rented season skis for my wife and kid, as well as a season bike for the kid. Kid grows out of bike or skis in the season, they change it out for the right size gear. Tuning on bikes and skis included during the rental. Plus I really like all the characters in the shop!

By far the best folks in the business. Fast and solid work. You can go in with top notch equipment or something you carved out of a park bench and theyll hook you up.

Ski Barn is THE BEST Ski/Board Rental Place in town. Dont go anywhere else!!!! We have been coming here for about 30 years now, and Bill, the new owner, has improved it even more. We went up to Purgatory to rent skis today and it took FOREVER. Purgatory would not allow us to rent for more than a day, so we came to town and were In and Out in HALF the time than the Purgatory rental place. Everyone was incredibly nice--especially Clark and Bill. The prices are reasonable.

Great experience. If you have weird feet and problems finding ski boots that dont hurt, come in and see the boot fitters here. They were extremely knowledgeable and after some custom modifications got me into a pair of boots I can ski in comfort with. I shopped around a few stores and wound up coming back to ski barn for the purchase. Their service is unparalleled.

This posting is a bit overdue as it refers to a visit at the start of the year, but it’s given me 6 weeks or so to really test the product and fit.After a lot of trouble at rentals, buying the total wrong size at a swap, and trying so many boots on my own.. I set up an appointment and came to the Ski Barn to get fit by Mark (25yrs experience). It took some patience and a little extra $ but I walked out satisfied with some real nice high performance boots and custom MasterFit insoles. Since then I’ve been able to tear it up all day without the boots getting loose or uncomfortable.. from somebody who likes to complain and get picky, I have no complaints :)Thank you Mark and thanks you Durango!

This will be my 4th winter in Durango and the Ski Barn is the place to get your season rental. Everyone there is so knowledge and helpful and friendly. My son snowboards but wants to learn to ski. They are so accommodating to let him get a ski rental and he can switch his rental back to snowboarding if he wants to. Best place in town to go!

I was very disappointed with my recent rental. We were a bit late into town. They were open later than the competitors and had a couple of decent reviews. We figured we would give them a try.Now had I checked the pricing before renting that would have been enough to send to me the competitor down the street. I mean boot rentals that are 130% more expensive than the competitor up the street. The snowboard were 20% more expensive. But I told myself, hey I don’t have to wait until morning when I was there and saw the rates.What was the kicker was once on the mountain. One of the crew was complaining his board didn’t feel right. After a few runs, we uncovered the issue. The mount was loose. So much for paying up for quality control. Now this is spring skiing and I am no expert but I have been boarding for 15 years. My board just wasn’t gripping the mountain right especially on the steeper slopes. At lunch, I ask the on slope repair outfit what could be the issue. They tell me it is the edge.Well we make the best of things and have fun despite the rental equipment.Well, I take the rentals back and inform them of the issues. They verify the issues. I stand there after their verification and acknowledgement in what can be called that uncomfortable silence that occurs at times between two parties. Until well you are good to go is said.What kind of customer services is that?I guess paying a premium doesn’t provide even an apology let alone any other type guarantee of a quality product.I mean people hit the mountain a couple of times a year, plan, make time, take vacation days, travel, rent rooms, and etc to have great time only to have a subpar experience due to the rentals.And to add insult to injury, not to be offered even apology let alone any type of discount or refund.I will NOT rent at the Ski Barn during my visits next year.

Knowledgeable, honest sales and service. I bought some ski boots during their autumn clearance sale, but realized when I got to the mountain in January that they werent going to work. I took them back and they unbelievably gave me a full refund! On top of that, Kenny actually talked me out of buying a new pair of boots! He spent at least half an hour with me adjusting my old boots with inserts which ended up costing me around $20 vs. the close to $300 I spent on the old boots. Thanks Kenny and Ski Barn! We have also been very impressed with their reasonably priced, excellent tuning and edge skills. This place is an asset to Durango.

Staff was super helpful and friendly but the prices for rentals were a bit steeper than on the mountain but not by much.

Very friendly staff. However me and my brother have both been skiing or entire lives. They asked us what package of rental we wanted and we told them we wanted a good twin tip rocker as they had gotten 16 inches of powder over night. We paid for performance skis, checked level 3 skiier and told them we wanted powder skis. They brought me out beginner chambered skis. I argued for a few minutes but they really didnt seem like they knew anything about setting someone up with proper skis. My advice is to rent at the mountain. This place is way to far away if youre not satisfied with what you get. Ruined an entire day on the mountain for me :( staff was friendly but very inconvienent. I am 6 ft tall and they put me on some cheap 163cm entry level ski.
